    Hey,.

Why you want to install Windows 7 from the HARD drive?
Windows 7, you can only buy on CD/DVD, never heard of any version of HARD drive

In any case, I think that boot USB is not available. According to the Toshiba page you can start following devices:
    USB FLOPPY DRIVE,
    HARD drive primary.
    Optical devices,
    Network (LAN)

It seems therefore that boot from USB HDD is not possible.

Sorry - NO - if the BIOS or UEFI menus do not provide the ability to select a USB key to start, there is no way to add this option.  It must be hard-coded in the firmware first.

    Hello

In fact, if you have the directory structure appropriate for EFI boot on your USB (EFI/BOOT/bootia32.efi) it will allow you to boot from USB after pessing ESC at startup and selecting boot options. Even you can get the "boot from file" option, when you select the USB device and look for the EFI boot file manually.

I just managed to install Ubuntu Linux (15.10) to the Ideacenter Stick 300 device, so if you need, I can provide some tips, how :-)

  • HP EliteBook 820 G3: HP EliteBook 820 G3 - no USB Boot

    Hello

I have a HP EliteBook 820 G3 which was working fine a few days ago and now I can't boot from a USB key.

I put the USB Boot BIOS and any type of USB, I try and no matter what USB Port I try I can not show USB boot F9 option menu.

The stick, I'm trying to start is a stick of SCCM Boot to BIOS devices (non-uefi).

I tried a fomatted UEFI, one to make sure that it was not the problem and it made no difference.

In my cube, I have a ton of HP hardware and all begin this exact stick even without problem.

But even if the stick did not form correctly it should still show USB as an option in the Menu start with the BIOS configured to boot from it.

I have reset the BIOS settings, I disabled the USB Boot box then restarted and places back.

I have flashed the BIOS to the latest version and that made no difference.

When the machine starts the operating system correctly shows the contents of the flash player.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

    False problem.

A factory more reset BIOS seems to have understood that it works.

  • External DVD drive as first boot option problem!

Yesterday, I got my Lenovo s10e and as it doesn't have a DVD rom, I bought a DVD burner external Liteon.

It was installed automatically when I connected via USB. OK, it works very well with windows installed on my netbook.

    However, I can't solve a problem!

When I chose USB DVD/CD as first boot option in the boot menu (Setup), it does not work! Boot sequence, I changed several times, but all in vain!

The strange question is when I insert a cool drive with a bootable software, it works very well except for my DVD burner!

I contacted Lenovo after the sale, they said because my DVD Recorder connects to the netbook through USB, it is not detectable.

    So, what should I do?

  • Which key press to get boot options

I have a new Pavilion 15-N297SA come this week and what I do before I start windows for the first time machine is put my cloning software in the DVD drive and turn on the laptop and a certain key to bring up the boot option, you start from hard drive disk drive/usb/external hard/dvd etc etc then take an image of all partitions including hidden and recovery options and just in case something goes wrong, so I have that to fall back on.

Now is - anyone know what button I push to raise the entered boot option boots into the operating system?

    APE1

Press the ESC key, which will bring up a menu. From there on, press F9 Boot Options.  However on most machines Windows 8 Secure Boot must be disabled & boot Legacy enabled in the BIOS to enable booting from a CD/DVD. In the menu, it will be F10 after Esc.

After the menu-press F9, it has an option to press F10 to go to the BIOS.  Press, which open and go to the tab of the System Configuration.  All the way down there is a "Boot Options" choose that and then there will be a lot of options.

  • BIOS lack internal hard drive boot option

I had problems with my computer gives me an error message 'Operating system not found' on initialize toward the top.  I knew that my hard drive was almost at full capacity, so I decided to install a new hard drive with more capacity, a Seagate Momentus 500 GB.  From what I read he appeared as my computer to recognize the new hard drive automatically, but it does not only and does not initialize.  When I go to boot options in the BIOS Phoenix, he mentions only: F10 and F12 Delay (s) [0], CD-ROM Boot [Enabled], boot floppies [Enabled] and starting adapter [Disabled] internal network.  However, the boot order lists: portable hard drive USB floppy, ATAPI CD/DVD ROM, USB disk on key, USB hard disk drive, and! Network adapter.  Would it be the BIOS Boot Option which is at the origin of the new hard drive is not being recognized?  I can't find where in the BIOS I can add this option in, or so that it can detect the new hard drive.

When I put my Vista recovery disc in, it will load, but when I select Yes for "reset your system to factory settings" and it starts to reformat the hard drive Windows partition, it returns immediately with error '0x400110020000100A '.

Anyone can shed some light on this problem?  Any help is appreciated!

  • How to use "System Restore" using the USB boot-able.

Some updates are being installed and I have turned off, now Vista does not load normally. Instead, Windows loading process is interrupted by error 'blue screen of death '.  Now, I have a USB boot-able with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. When I boot with my USB boot-able and select 'Repair your system', it shows the dialog box 'System Restore Options. " There are no BONES in the list, so I click on "Load drivers", an "Open" dialog box appears.

    1. in the "Open" dialog box, I don't know which file (s) to locate.

If I cancel and click on 'Next', another windows appears. Then, I select "System Restore". A message pops up saying something like: «to perform an offline system restore, you must specify which Windows installation you want to restore...» For example, enter the command:
    Rstrui.exe /OFFLINE:C:WINDOWS.

    2. I don't know where I have to give this command.

My HP dv6700 s system. When I bought it, Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit was already installed. But I do not remember the activation code now. And so I can't even contact support and help from microsoft.

    Kindly help me.

HP gives you the opportunity to make the Vista startup repair from the diagnostic menu? I thought that this was the case. Have you checked? There is a reason for the message warning about don't turn off your computer while updates are being installed and you may need to restore the State of the plant.

To answer your original question, the drivers that are sought are disk SATA controller drivers. You get them from HP website and set on a (non-bootable) USB to use at the point of "pilots charge."

If you can not solve this problem, you can copy your data to an external hard drive by booting with a Linux Live like Knoppix or Ubuntu distro from a bootable USB. Then restore the computer as long as the plant. HPs factory to start the recovery process by pressing F11 when the computer starts, but there will be a message about what function key to use.
