No WLAN light

Hi all, I have a WRT54G Version 2 router and after turning off the power to do some electrical work around the House yesterday, the WLAN light not coming now. I searched these forums and tried all the thing proposed to reset the router by pressing reset button for 30 sec then turn off device for 30 sec. I tried to go on the 192.168.1.1 web address, but it will not open the page. Every time I try and ping it says it's an unknown host.

I have a network between 2 PCs and 2 Mac configuration, but have not had a problem until now.

Is anyone able to help please?

It is possible that the address of the default router is changed to something else instead of 192.168.1.1, however whenever you reset the router it should change the address of the default address i.e. 192.168.1.1... If you have reset the router and address is 10.0.0.138 then it is possible that your computer is not set to obtain automatically IP address between your router and it must be set to use the following IP address...

Leave your PC connected to the router (hard wired)-

Click the Start button > settings > Panel > network connections - right click on the icon for Local area connection and click Properties-On the "general" tab select "Internet TCP/IP Protocol" and click the button selection of properties "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain the DNS" automatically and click on the Ok button to save and click 'Close' in the main window of properties...

Reset the router - press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now let's see if you can access the router using 192.168.1.1...

    Hello
I have a Satellite Pro 6100. But there is no Wlan light, if I turn on the wlan switch. I did a Bios Update to 1.9, but wifi does not work.
Is it possible that the on-off wlan switch is damaged, or what could be the problem?

    Hello

Did you check if the wireless card is already preinstalled on you laptop.
Have you ever used this option?

I agree with you... it of not impossible that the WLan switch on the side of the laptop is broken.

The switch allows you to activate on the motherboard and allows the WLan antenna.
If there is a hardware malfunction for example a loose contact outside help is necessary. In this case, the ASP must check the unit

    Hello world

So I took out the CD/DVD recovery and tried to do a new installation, the configuration of the installation has functioned well until he asked me 2 remove the disc and restart the comp I did.

So what I did I took a normal windowes XP (SP2) and reinstalled eveverything (I formatted the drive also) and rebooted and it worked.

2 my next challenge is 2 get all the hardware working I got all all work, but the WIFI network (integrated).
After I installed everyting I saw my network wireless but next time I started the comp, it disappeared along with all other WLANS that I use to be Alba 2 see. and when I still have refreash sound empty.

I tried to disable it and then turn it on again but it doenst help.

    Hello

On WLAN, there is actually no philosophy, and few things are important:
The wireless network card must be installed properly (properly listed in the Device Manager) and
It must also be enabled. Initially with switch WLAN (WLAN light is on) and then activate it by using the FN + F8 key combination.

After making this key WLAN card should see all available wireless networks. To connect to one of them is another theme.
To be honest I didn't understand exactly what is happening. If I understand you right your laptop can see WLAN but after reboot all available wireless networks is not visible. Am I right about that?

Have you tried rebooting your WLAN router and restart analysis the WLAN area?

  • WLAN is unable to allow my Satellite A200

    Hi people!

I have an A200 (PSAE6E) running under Windows Vista 32. Intel wifi link 4965AGN wireless card. vs 12.2.0.11.

I can't have a wireless card works at all.
    Hardware button is enabled; Software control F8 is enabled;
ConfigFree and Task Manager 'said' it's all ok.
But the center of windows network just can't turn it on.
Windows Network Diagnostics (what is the right way to write it?) can not solve the problem.
    I'm just nuts with it.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks in any case.

I don't know what the problem is here, but the fact is that the wireless network card must be turned on if:
WLAN switch is activated and the WLAN light should be as WE
FN + F8 using the WLAN card must be assigned to too

So, if you think that two parameters are passed to start Toshiba Assist > ConfigFree > WLAN and run RADAR to see if your WIFI at home will be detected correctly.

    Please post the result.

Are sure you that you have enabled the WLan switch on the side of the laptop?
Only this switch controls the WLan light!

If the WLAN led does not illuminate after that you have activated the WLan switch there is something wrong with the hardware.

  • Satellite M70-394: WLan does not work after wake up from sleep mode

    Hi all...

I have a problem with my WLan connection and hope that one of you may be able to help. From my computer is turned off, it is not a problem with the WIFI connection but if I put the computer to sleep by closing the lid and then restarting it from there the led lights up briefly to wi fi but then and is the only way I can connect via a cable.

Any suggestion would be appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

What happen exactly when you open the lid? Generally, the WLAN light should be on and after 20 or 30 seconds, the WIFI network should work again.

I recommend you to check the FN + F8 key combination to see if WIFI is always enabled. Alternatively, you can try to install the latest version of the WLAN driver.

After removing the CD, the laptop did not start, indicating that a device in the boot sector was not present.

It so happened that I had a CD of Vista operating system from another computer so I inserted the CD and tried to restart. After asking to fix/install windows (I chose install), he seemed fine. • L50-A-10 q satellite: Win8.1 Pro Wi - Fi status LED does not

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba L50-10-to-10 q running BIOS Version 1.30 and THIS Version 1.10.
I've recently updated to Windows 8 for Windows Pro 8.1.

I followed the update instructions found on the driver download page.
All modules (Wifi, Bluetooth, etc.) and the function keys work just fine.

However, the status LED does not work correctly.
For Wifi, the status light is always off, even when the Wifi is turned on and connected.

The State LED to the touchpad is also always off, even when it is disabled.
SEEING supply and load indicator work fine.
All the State LED worked correctly before the 8.1 update WIN.
Is there a solution for this problem?

    Kind regards

    Niko

Why you n t trying to update or reinstall the driver Intel WLan and driver of Toshiba system yet?
Since this procedure has allowed to solve the problem of touchpad and I guess that that would solve the problem with the WLan light too.

  • Wireless computer network laptop dv7 sometimes stuck out

    Hello.

So, for a while, I had this problem with my laptop; sometimes without any reason my wireless 'goes out' and my laptop gets all the lag (trolling, mouse sound as well). In fact, the WiFi network is not extinguished, but only the blue light on my laptop turns red. Wlan exchange button the following message (on/wlan Wlan off) but no connection is established and it remains red, stuck like that.

For a long time, I found the only way to solve this problem, to restart the computer. However, sometimes, it did not help until after two resets. Some time ago my brother was using my laptop and as the same problem has happened, he goes to the web settings and Control Panel, a list of all possible connections. Here as an administrator he removed using WiFi connection and then begins again, which fixed the problem. The connection has been made again, and the LAG was gone.

Now, just before this announcement I had the problem once again and found a way of my brother to fix. Since that part, the problem is resolved, but I would like to know what causes this and how can I get rid of him? It's really frustrating when internet turns off randomly and I have a huge lag, so in the middle of something important. I never found anything like this online, searching around with Mr. Google and eventually sign up here to ask.

    Thank you in advance.

    Some information on the laptop:

HP Pavilion DV7 VT362EA #UUW (no idea if that's the correct number ^^)

    Windows 7

    TL; DR

Sometimes the wlan light turns red if the WiFi network has not yet been decided. Loss of connection and get a huge lag. Only difficulty is to reboot or remove wlan to use as an administrator.

Ok. No, it looks like you did it correctly. I have a few other things for you to try so.

1 to update the software Quick Lauch buttons. Restart and test the question. If you still get the same symptom, go to step 2.

    2. reinstall the wireless cardHere is the manual. Wireless (WLAN) card withdrawal begins on page 4-17. Make sure that the antenna wireless caps are broken pointing down when you put it back in. If you still get the same symptom, go to step 3.

    3. reset TCP/IP. Here is a link to the steps. It says XP at the top, but it's just a special note for XP users. Scroll up to the gray heading "I solve the problem" and then in the second below, subsection you will see the steps for Vista /7. Be sure to run as administrator command prompt.

Let me know the results when you get a chance

  • WIFI does not work on my Satellite L650D

    Hi all...

On my laptop, the wireless light is orange and won t work...
When I got the laptop connected to the Ethernet cable, it works fine but the minute that I remove it, it turns off.
    Anyone know my problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

I guess that LAN connection works properly and you can access the internet using LAN.
But the WiFi does not work even if the WLan light is on. Is this good?

I m wondering if you have activated the WLan with the FN + F8 keys.
    Have you tried that?

You have configured the WiFi network properly? I mean that you must make sure that you have chosen the good encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.) and the right encryption password!

You can also disable all the security settings on your router and was able to connect the notebook to open WLan but it must be done only for testing purposes.

Now I ve lost connectivity, I can t enable wireless by FN + F8.

It s saying not available on my device connection. Could someone give help, please?

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but I guess that there must be a mistake.

At first be sure that your router is working properly and the WIFI is enabled it.

Check it please as next step WLAN on your laptop satellite. Open the Device Manager and check if the WLAN card is installed and registered properly. Next step is to activate the card wireless network on your computer.

If your laptop is the WLAN light remember that power is on. If everything is OK check if your WLAN is visible for your laptop.

Please check it and send comments.

    Concerning

    Hello Raja

Drivers for graphics on laptops are suitable for mobile use. With other words, is a sort of version lite. A common on laptops problem is overheating. Because of this the laptop manufacturers offer such version to protect the graphics card and avoid unexpected interruptions.

Please use version provided by Toshiba only and you will be on the right side. A lot of people are trying to manipulate the drivers and install them. It can work well but with the risk.

To activate the Bluetooth key combination FN + F8. Of course, don't forget the switch WLAN is also turned on and the orange WLAN light is on.
