Non-persistent desktops take ten minutes to connect

A customer reported issues using the IBM Notes client with view v3.1.

Workstations are configured as non-persistent, and they report problems loging in.  When the user connects, there are data that are copied into the virtual machine that contains the personal information of users for Notes, as their address book and other items.  Because these data are copied to the Journal, there is a delay, sometimes up to ten minutes, before the user is currently connected.

Has anyone seen this problem with Notes or any other application that is based on user profile information and might have some suggestions? Thanks,-Jeff

anything that uses a roaming profile may affect the time of connection.  For us, Exchange, all the .pst files are stored in the my documents folder, which redirects to the home folder on a network file server users.  Therefore, they use any machine, they still have access to their information.

Be considered for what it is worth, I have not used the notes in a long time, but I believe you can also change the settings of the client connection notes, so redirect the names.nsf anywhere.  This will reduce your connection time because the file will not be copied locally whenever a user logs on.

My advice would be to seek a GPO that would redirect your my documents folder and see to update on the heavy notes client connection parameters.

  • accept guests of Java security in Firefox on non-persistent desktops view

    Hi all

    Here's our environment...

    1. view 6.1

    2. a pool Nopersistent offices Windows 7 Enterprise

    3 Java 32 bits version 8 day 72

    4 Firefox 34.0.5

Run us a Java Application (banner) and when you fire in Firefox it shows 2 application prompt, both applications are trusted publishers is not a matter of trust. Because they are non-persistent desktops that our end users bring each time that they restart it. Whats odd is that we have been able to ignore these warnings with IE using strategies of group two, one to be saved in the "trusted publishers" request certificates store and another to add the URL of the application to IE Trusted Sites. I'm not sure how to work around this problem in Firefox

I enable the Java Console and turned on a high level of forest exploitation, and when I got one of these application guests I clicked on the option "don't show this new editor applications and the location above. When I did that the Java console displays the following...

Security: the user granted the privileges to the code forever

Security: deployment of C:\Users\deptsfs\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs loading certificates

Security: responsible for deployment from C:\Users\deptsfs\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs certificates

Security: registration of certificates of deployment in C:\Users\deptsfs\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs

Security: safe deployment in C:\Users\deptsfs\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs certificates

I know I'm grabbing at straws here but y at - he called a way to manipulate the contents of the file "trusted.certs" to the user with a logon script via group policy so that Publisher/App/location is always approved?

    Thank you

So... my grad last idea is to deploy the trusted.certs file in the default profile on your master image and test to see if this file is available in-house for new users. Do you know how to copy a user profile in the default user profile in Windows 7?

  • View: Non-persistent Desktop with persistent user data

We need to have a non persistent desktop which has a small persistent area (separate drive?), where the user profiles are stored.  Our goal is to have the stay of software/OS in a non persistent state but allow for user profiles to be created/saved on the computer.  Did someone do something similar to what could be useful in pointing me in the right direction?

    Thank you!

Not persistent are ment to do exactly that.  As suggested must be addressed on a profile management system, you could probably get by with roaming profiles provided that you keep some controls tightened on them.

Alternatively, you can use a pool of persistent by using user data disks and use the "Refresh OS disk on logoff" setting set to 'Always' or 'all the X days '.  That mimics a non-persistent pool without the need for some other profile management.

  • Slow connection, non-persistent desktops... of roaming profiles?

OK everyone I have a good, we use view 4.0.1 build-233023 and when we use no sticky Windows XP Pro 32-bit desktop computers, we run into the question of a slow connection during the period where Windows applies the user 'custom settings '.  The delay is not terrible, but it will cause colic.  I'm assuming that this delay occurs because the user does not have a profile on the newly created virtual machine.

We experimented with roaming profiles AD and so far there is no help.  Does anyone have ideas to avoid the "custom setting event?  We would really like to non-persistent work stations, like those persistent management is not really feasible in view 4.0.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

I had this problem and it took me about two months to get my picture gold until I was satisfied by the research, the trial & error and much rebuilt.

I used a combination of non-persistent computers, folder redirection, of roaming profiles and I have disabled all the tricks of custom setting (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238441) and now my pictures are very alive and work perfectly for my environment (school).

I suppose that you have set records in your goldy and optimized it for sodomy.  Because before I did that my image has been sluggish on login.  The performance difference between my old image and the new image is like night and day.

    Good luck!

  • It takes 10 minutes to connect to OBIEE 11g

    Hi all

I'm on Windows 2008 64 bit machine. I just upgraded the web catalog to 11g and the RPD. When I connect to OBIEE answers using weblogic, it takes 10 minutes for the initial screen to come.

In my view, that it shouldn't take that long, what could be the reason for the same thing? I even tried logging as one of the defined user in SPR, but still it takes too much time.

One thing, I'm on IE 9, would that be a problem?

    Thank you
    Ronny

Yes Ronny. Whenevr you start server Bi, it will try to load init blocks in the memory of the server. If you have the number of blocks init with incorrect connection credentials pool, all blocks will fail which will be recorded in the server log file. This have a huge performance. Try to correct the parameters of CP and see if you find any improvement in performance.

    Kind regards

  • Why - what is take a minute to connect to an Apple TV via AirPlay?

We have recently updated our iPad Pros 10.0.1 and one of our Apple TVs to 7.2.1 (he is described as the Apple TV software version). We found that the Apple TV would go to a white screen as it linked. See how we were minutes a meeting where it would be necessary, I ended up swapping on the Apple TV with another. The second APPLETV logged a lot more quickly. I took the first Apple TV at the office to work with and test. I found that it it takes 30 seconds to act as AirPlay logs when it goes to a white screen. It takes another 30 seconds before displaying the iPad screen connection. It seems very long.

Hello. You are maybe not on the same network as the ATV WiFi slow? In this case, you can use AirPlay-to-peer that implements discovered via Bluetooth (must be activated on the iPad). The discovery of Bluetooth is slow because it has to wait for the answers. Connection may be slower, because the devices to implement a direct connection via an unused WiFi channel. 60 seconds is a bit long, however.

  • Client workspace in a pool of non-persistent offices?

The customer of the workspace can be used in a non-persistent office pool? A couple of concerns I have with this:

-l the location of the data cache. I don't want to synchronize whenever I log on a fresh desktop computer. I can change the path to a shared House on the network for example, but is it possible during installation or via GPO?

-When a user opens a session one computer desktop with a client of the workspace, the office is bound to the user in the workspace of Horizon. This obviously gives problems when a user opens a session to a new non-persistent desktop whenever the user opens a session. Desktop computers will be linked to multiple users and users will have several related jobs. How can this problem be solved?

It can, but it is not optimized for this use case right now...

In Horizon 1.0 data will have sync if you install the Agent Horizon on a VDI desktop. No way around that. So at least synchronize only once file, you can redirect the data folder of the 'local' Horizon to a network share or a persistent disk. There is a registry key for this:

HCCU\Software\VMware, Inc. \Horizon Data\Folder (Reg_SZ) = a folder on a mapped drive, such as a home player or something else that is persistent.

There should be no problem with that connects several computers. You are right, there is a long list of features, but there is no limitation, so everything should work.

We are working on many improvements for future versions. This kind of feedback is crucial to decide what features will be implemented when. Please, keep the feedback coming.

  • Ten minutes to print a page

I just replaced the black cartridge on my Deskjet 3512.  The slider hung on the side right and would not print.  After fiddeling with it, the cursor moved the cartridges all right, but he would not still not printing. I pulled the USB cables, turned off the printer and the computer (Imac OS X 10.6.8).)  It prints, but it takes ten minutes to print a page!  I removed the printer in the list of printers and reinstalled and it still prints slower than a snail speed.  Help

I tried to make just a copy from the glass and he did the same thing.

I took the printer to Wal-Mart and you have a replacement printer (she had 2 months).  I put the old/new black ink cartridge in the printer and it did the same thing.  I put the new black ink cartridge in which came with the new printer and IT WORKED!

I took the ink cartridge black #61 old/new and he returned to Wal-Mart for a replacement.  When I got home, I noticed on the side of the box that a series of 3510 of printers was not in the list of compatible printers.

Was flawed, the ink cartridge black #61 old/new or y at - it a newer version of the #61 black ink cartridge which is the only one that works with printer Deskjet 3512?

  • Any way to get the files (not apps) for non-persistent floating desktop?

    Hello:

We are currently running a pilot to replace our training labs, with the offices of pool floating non-persistent.  Currently, we are trying to find a way to simply deploy a file folder in the end user's desktop folder.  I tried to watch using Thinapp, but that seems to work only if there are executable files.  In our case, we just have a folder of files Excel & Word we want to have on every desk in the pool.  Is it possible to do, without having to use a part 3?  I was looking at possible ways to do it, but so far I only found ways to do it with the Windows user profile.  It is an option, but we would like to do this at the level of the office pool instead.  Basically, just like Thinapp works but just copy or synchronize files rather that install applications.

I was wondering if anyone else has found a way to do it.  Thanks in advance.

I would probably put the files in the image as the 2nd post mentioned. Another option would be to use some kind of startup script to copy from a network share. Have you looked at the volumes app?

  • LaserJet pro m401dne: fatal error, takes too long to connect with the printer

Downloaded the driver of HP software, started installation and got to the point where it says to connect the printer, did, he recognizes it, start the data transfer and just takes forever. After ten minutes, I get fatal error takes too long to communicate with the printer, if aging persists restart the computer and try again.

I've made this 3 times now and same result.

Since my laptop doesn't have a cd drive, I copied the cd to a flash drive and installed the software from that. Worked perfectly. Something must be missing or corrupted download. Anyway problem solved

  • Why Autocheck.exe takes 3 + minutes at startup

    Salvation;

I've recently set up a new build (the end plug) and after installing the win 7 updates that were available, I started having a recurring problem starting sloooooooooow.  I seem to have two options now, and none of them are perfect, that's why I post here.

    1. I can restart and wait 3-4 minutes, and when windows starts, everything seems fine
    2. I can remove autocheck autochk * of the BootExecute registry entry, then it starts fine, but then windows is locked for about 3 minutes after logon. Nothing does.  After that, it works fine.

In the investigation of this situation, I blame first SMSSinit, but I discovered later that this routine is rather a chaperone for the other processes that are running before Winlogon support functions of escort.  With the help of MS SDK, I found that it is Autochck.exe who is the culprit, taking 200-220 seconds on each boot.  I have done the following (and more) for this problem:

    1. check all readers to forest Sales - none found
2 DAB check on all connected not discs - no error found
3 disabled Checkdisk in "task manager".
4 disabled Checkdisk on the register (when I do that, I get the scenario 2 above)
5 restart the computer in every way that I can imagine
6 tried a repair of windows with my stick UEFI (no love - don't say it found no problem)
    7. I tried to go back to a previous restore point (I only had one and it has not resolved)
8 deleted all the updates of windows that I did (and all Win updates are set to manual only)
9 autochk.exe caught another install and put it in the folder Windows/system32 (after correct ownership of both) with a new name autochk_safe.exe and made the registry BootExecute entry to this application checkdisk (thought that was a smart test I found on another forum)

    10A ran sfc/scannow - no problems found
    11 set the registry BootExecute entry "" autocheck autochk / k: C / k: M / k: S k:R k:G * '. "  I tried this (which should skip autocheck at startup for C, G, M, R and S readers), but it changed nothing.  And it's a deactivation of all disks in the system.

If anyone knows what steps I can take here to stop this autocheck scope and not suffer the consequences, it would of course be appreciated.  And Yes, I know that I can do a thorough cleaning and reinstall, but it isn't necessary that something is the cause and needs to be identifiable and solvable IMO.

    See you soon ~
