Not loading are automatic updates of Windows.

I have a windows XP and when the automatic update is going to load, it is said it was unsuccessfu to loading. I tried to get auto updates that I have on my computer many times and went on the web site of microsoft and also tried several times without success. :( :(

Last night I tried to make the point of restoration under System Tools, and it wouldn't make a restore point. I tried the 'fix it' on microsoft and it says there was a problem with Indeo Codec video decoder, but the rest has been successful.

It is possible that I have an antivirus or could there be something else? (I use the software removal tool Microsoft Windows Milicious now to see what he finds. Hopefully that will answer some questions).

gebaroo,
Could you not to install these two updates (KB980182 & KB979402)?  If this is not the case, what is the error you get?  All other updates are installed correctly?

You can try these items to get all updates installed.
Clean boot your PC, and then run Windows Update.

Solving audio problems do not detect a problem.

When I go to the control panel > hardware & sound > playback, right-click on the device, I get this message:

"This device is used by another application. Please close all devices... "

However, I restarted the laptop with no other applications running and I still get the above message.

It must be linked to the recent update of W8 for 2 days ago that my audio has always worked fine until here. Without having to reinstall all the software, what I can do, as I have not changed anything other than subscribe to automatic update of Windows? (It makes me want to stop the update btw, if the updates affect the normal performance of my laptop).

A new update for Windows 8 rises to fix this audio problem?

Welcome to any other measure to solve the problem? -Many thanks.

It worked for me, you can't find it on your hard drive, you must go to > Control Panel > programs > programs and features-> installed updates. under the microsoft windows list, locate those added on July 12, 2014. • USB ports does not work after automatic update in Windows 8.

    Hello

There was an automatic update that occurred a few nights ago on my computer that I never knew until after that I turned on my computer back the next day. The computer starts up, then stopped and restarted about twice more - a total of three reboots in all.
It is really annoying, because my Bluetooth has also stopped working a few days before. So I'm completely paralyzed - I've been using USB keyboard and mouse since the Bluetooth went bankrupt. I can not connect.
The computer starts as usual. The 'numlock' keyboard lights, like the optical light under the mouse; This happens just before the Windows loading screen. However once windows loading screen comes and the "pearls" downstairs begin circulating, the mouse and the keyboard go quiet. I am sure that there is no hardware problems, and the keyboard and mouse work on my Mac very well.
I tried system restore and PC options refresh on the Startup Options page, but unfortunately, my hard drive is unlocked, and system restore won't work; It says that I need to specify which Windows Installation to restore. I also tried my options with the Windows CD.
Do a complete restore of the system is not really something I want or feel that I can do. Being the sidenote, I have school work on this machine in question, and it was already over. Otherwise, I would have not had any problems.
    Anyone had this problem before?

Hi, I just have this problem, but I have noticed that the driver has been disabled, when I activated, it works fine now.

  • Windows XP does not install the automatic updates.

    Original title: kopieerfout

After several years, my laptop with Windows XP does not install the automatic updates, giving only a mistake:

    "

Kan het bestand niet naar doelmap copying.

    Everything works OK.

    Thanks for your help

    Everything works OK.

It seems that it is not... Why Dutch? You use or have the corresponding language version installed?

    Free translation of message:

"An error occurred during the copy of the file ntoskrnl.exe
Cannot copy file to destination... »

Please note that ntoskrnl.exe is a process in the cycle of the initial startup on your computer program.

Try to load your "last known good configuration".

The issue is also known to be caused by a short circuit in the ground cable into the keyboard cable. Make sure that it is not the cause of your error by replacing the keyboard with another keyboard or just disconnect the keyboard from the computer. You can also look at your function "Add or remove programs" If KB2686509 <> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686509 > is installed.  Install manually if it is not.

If the above doesn't help, try using the Sfc.exe tool - see here > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747

Or run the Chkdsk tool - see here > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

If still no luck, you may need to restore the file ntoskrnl. exe as follows:

1 - insert the Microsoft Windows XP CD. Note: If you have a recovery CD or a restore CD and not a Microsoft Windows XP CD is probably the procedure below does not solve your problem.

2 - restart the computer and that the computer starts, you should see a message press any key to boot from the CD. When you see this message press any key.

    3. - in the Microsoft Windows XP setup menu, press the R key to enter the recovery console.

4 - Select the operating system you want to set and enter the administrator password.

    5 - type expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32

    6. - you will be asked if you want to overwrite the file, type Y and press enter to replace the file.

7 - type exit to restart the computer.

Hope this helps - good luck!

    Hello.

It is possible that it was by force the windows closed so your firefox which makes you forget... Have you tried to crash your Firefox to see if the session is not restored?

To plant your Firefox, simply there open, press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC and then, on the process tab in the window that appears, complete the process firefox.exe. That will force Firefox to close at this moment. Do start again. If it works, ok, so it may have been a case isolate. My recommendation is to configure your windows does not install updates without your intervention. Choose something like 'ask me what to do' or something like that.

  • Automatic updates of Windows does not

I went to my control panel and it is checked by automatic updates, where he always was, tried to change, then click on apply, then go back and change this automatic return to the update, then apply about 10 times tonight and it won't work at all. I went to check the updates manually and I can't get that to work either. Earlier this evening, I spent 6 hours taking off from a Trojan horse, and so far, it's the only thing I found which is not back to normal. • Apparently, I got an automatic update of Windows XP. All of a sudden my computer does not connect to my HP Laserjet 1000 printer.

All of a sudden my computer does not connect to my HP Laserjet 1000 printer. These work very well together for several years.

Now all of a sudden I get a message that the computer cable is not connected.  I tried to charge the printer program.

I unplugged and reconnect the cable to the computer, etc.. The system does not work.

I learn by two other people, who have automatic updates of Windows, they had the same problem. We have a Kodak

printer and the other has a Lexmark printer. This makes me think that the problem is in the updates of Windows.

So, what should I do to fix this? I'm NOT a computer person and I'm confused.

My client application times does not and when the server he invites me to reboot by displaying the server because of the recent software update.

I asked my team to set Windows Update to manually plan but they advised me that this is a policy and it should be run as automatic.

Not only did I always say this, I think you have discovered that it will probably be necessary.

You might be able to do something with SFC/scannow , or be Windows XP, possibly a repair install might fix things (if you have a Windows XP with the Service Pack 3 installation CD or can integrate a new installation CD for Windows XP SP3).

SPACE does the work.  I then restarted the update Windows components and then successfully downloaded and installed 9 security updates.

I understand the fact that you still recommend a format/install. Not having done it would be prudent to see how the operating system is running and if I have any further questions or you feel it is too risky on a computer used to pay bills and perform other necessary transactions. The computer is older and the cost may not be a return value.  I wait your answer before I post any other questions.  I thank you for your time and expertise.
