Nothing will not read the DVD/RW
I have a desktop gateway DX430S with windows vista Home premium 32-bit. The DVD/RW will be isn't anything read or burn CD when I go into Device Manager and check the driver, I get the following error message:
Windows was able to successfully install device driver software, but the driver has encountered a problem when he tried to run. The problem code is 37.
I tried to update the driver but it had no effect and uninstalling and restarting had no effect.
Hello
Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.
Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Satellite A40-231: SD-R6112 will not read the DVDs I burned
I finally got my DVD burner to work, but now the drive will not read the DVDs I burned, which, of course, defies the point of having a dvd burner in the first place... When I insert my dvd recently burned, "working" light lights and stays on. Same thing happens no matter how many times I take it out and put plug back in, restart my computer, etc... any ideas anyone?
Hello
@Magnus:
Sometimes, CDs and burned DVD cannot be read with no closing sessions of engraving. You should check this option.
In addition, this burning program did you use?
I use Nero. Form is the program better combustion and I never had a problem.
What you need to do is to test several DVDs. not all media work on the disc. -
Satellite M30X: reader will not read the DVD-R data but plays movies in DVD-R and CD
I have a Toshiba M30X with combi DVD/CDRW drive.
I have accumulated 12 GB of digital photo I wanted to erase but do not want the number of CDs that can be the so I bought an external DVD LITEON EZ - DUB and made 3 DVD - R burner of plenty of JPEG.
However, when I put the DVD in the drive of Toshiba combi, it clicks for a moment or two, but when I click on the combi drive in my computer, the folder is empty and it is said there are 0 bytes.
CD of still works, audio and data, DVD movies fine, reading DVD-R on my Pioneer DVD recorder (for TV - looks like a video/nothing to do with PC) plays very well, but he won't recognise DVD - r with data (JPEG or MP3) on them.It makes no difference what software was used (Nero 6.6) and LITEON EZDUB and it's okay if the discs are completed, a single session, multi session or what - it will not play any of them.
However, these discs work perfectly in my old office to 7 years with a Sony DVD/CDRW combination of 4 years.
I'm puzzled.
I don't particularly want to reinstall windows, in the case where it does not recognize the recovery DVDs and I remember Microsoft a Note having activated by phone with a code that is different every time you ask him to generate a.
It's a bit of pain that I wanted to make my pictures with me in my laptop bag.
I won't be carting around an external DVD burner just to read the DVD.
I've updated the firmware for SD - R 2512.
He had no other effect freeze on a black screen on restart - I had to hold down the switch 15 minutes in this State.
The laptop is 1 year and 26 days if that counts for anything.Anyone have any ideas? Or can I just put up with him.
Hello
Well, I can only make suggestions.
You are able to place files many MP3 and Jpeg on DVD.
This is perhaps a reason why Explorer cannot handle the DVD.Try to burn the DVD with photo JEPG, but do not have the full DVD with these files.
You must leave a free space on the media. Maybe it helps. But it's very strange for me and it's just a suggestion. I've never tired it and don't know if it helps.
I had a similar problem on my laptop but I solved using compatible media. Some readers prefer different media for different types of files. -

Hello, tyINtrouble
The device is listed as a DVD player?
You can check by clicking on start, click computer, and to check the label of the hard drive, he may mention DVD or DVD - RW etc.
You can also check your connections are secure.
If possible, you can try to test the drive in another machine, or another drive in your computer to see if it works properly.
If your hard drive and DVD/CD player are on the same parallel cable connection, it can cause problems as well.
We can't wait to hear back on your part.

CDDVD rom will not read the dvd rom or DVD

Hello
You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly.Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.
Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.
CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.Several good info here:

New CS6 disk will not read the DVD ROM
I got CS6 on my laptop when I had WIN Vista, ive recently went to WIN 7 and I try to re install CS6, but now my dvd rom wont read any of the 3 discs of CS6. Ive tried a music disk and it reads that I see any scratches on any of the 3-disc accompanying the CS6.
I really don't think it's disks that play to the top, when I installed first CS6 they went from the cover to the right dvdrom in the covers. No errors come at all. I put the disc, the computer thinks for a few seconds then nothing.
Any ideas?
Have you tried to read what's on the disc to see if you can find the files that start the installation process?
Rather than using disks is to download the trial version and use, serial number you havce records to activate. Here are some links for downloading...

DVD player on the desktop iMac 2009 will not read the dvd whats the fix
DVD player on the desktop iMac 2009 went to play DVDs on Yosemite. What is the solution?
The first thing to try is a disc cleaning disc. About US$ 5-15 in most computer, office supplies and electronic. Loading slot discs get pretty dirty and this dirt/dust can interfere with proper disc. The cleaning disc is an inexpensive and simple step that often solves the problem.

Carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-820 s will not read the cd rom cd-rom dvd
OK, I read the other posts on these discs. Mine will play DVD movies and play them. It will not read the dvd ROM CD CD-ROM etc.
This cannot be a hardware problem, it must be the software should not it?
Can anyone help?
Does anyone have information on how to remove these disks of the computer? Im sure I can install a new one myself if I really need to.
Unfortunately the computer is just out of warrantyHi Robert,.
Unfortunately, your problem sounds like a problem with the hardware with the optical drive. The player itself must be able to refocus its lenses to switch between DVD and CD formats, and also to pass the pressed DVD and DVD burned.
I suggest you tyre remove the device from the Device Manager Control Panel, then restart your laptop so that the optical drive will be recognized as a new component hardware and Windows will then be re - install with standard drivers etc. If this does not work then it looks like a new drive will be necessary.
Unfortunately you say not what model of laptop you have (the removal procedure is not the same in all cases), but in general if the car is equipped with in-house it is held in place with one or two screws accessible from the bottom of the laptop that should be removed first, then the optical drive can be slid out of its location.
Kind regards

Windows 7 will not recognize the dvd drive
Windows 7 will not recognize the dvd drive, although it worked well for more than two years. Now I can't access it to install new software.
It will not be displayed in the Device Manager, bad shooters to say it is not connected or is, tried Fixit fix (could not as "not applicable to your computer update"), uninstall iTunes (in the case of a conflict - even if it worked with the DVD of > 1 year), etc., but still cannot access the DVD.
It's obviously a known issue, given that a support page - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976187 that recommends the fix or manually disable ALPM active power management. If it of a known issue, why is not included in the updates and that I have to disable ALPM power if management it worked ok before?
What now? Is turn off the power, my only option? What happens if it is not yet recognized after that?

I have a new Toshiba C650 laptop, and he says that I can not read the dvd on it except that I have installed a new driver. Is this true?
Hi Bill,
To be honest, this sounds ridiculous but if you get a message, I suppose it could be possible even if I find it incredible. Do you have it in a (local or online) retail store or Toshiba? By any chance did you upgrade from the DVD player when buying (where they may have accidentally neglected to update the drivers of the drive that was originally installed)?
As it is new, Toshiba should help you with this. Here's the contact page: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/navShell.jsp?cf=su_contact&pf=true. Give them everything they need to prove that buy you it and it should be under warranty and then give them the message Word for Word, that you have found. They should be able to help you. They can, for some reason I don't know, you don't need to help or guide you through a new driver installation. I ask for a clear explanation of why this is necessary on a new computer and, if you are not satisfied with the response, ask them to consider that all the faulty computer and replace it. Even if they won't, he needs the get them less motivated to solve your problem.
I hope this helps.

Try another DVD to verify that your laptop can read at least the other DVD. If he can't play other DVD's then you need to replace the DVD - CD ROM drive supplied with your Pressario.
Another thing you can try is to check fingerprints or scratches on the DVD, some DVD players are more sensitive than others.
