NumLock on boot

I have a new Pavilion p6 - 2220t. How can I get the NumLock to be on by default?  Checked the bios to F10 when booting, but could not find.

Thank you

Susan

Susan,

Here's the original specifications and options cconfigurable for your desktop HP Pavilion p6 - 2220 t CTO. Please see 'settings BIOS for the mother Cupertino3' to set the "State NumLock to ignition' on 'ON' BIOS. This setting is found under the tab 'Advanced' menu > 'Device Options' menu > 'Num Lock State at Power-On' as shown below.

If you want that one 'Num Lock' default in Windows... Please toggle the 'Num Lock' until it is turned on, then logout and restart Windows. This should save the State of 'Num Lock' in Windows as WE.

Please click the White Star of KUDOS to show your appreciation

    Hello

Not sure if EFI is the correct place to do so.

Have you tried to do this in windows itself?

  • Satellite P200-15N boot, numlock on

    Hello world
I have a Satellite P200 laptop for over 2 years, but since yesterday I did a clean install of Windows7 on the machine.
But when I start/restart the NUMLOCK is off, but it would be nice to have that 'on '.

I already searched this topic on the end of the Internet, but does not solve the problem.
-Boot, and when you log on to push the numlock on it and restart. Didn't work...
-Research in the BIOS, but could not find where to change. I think that's in it to change...
-Also find a registry entry to change.
    Regedit: + HKEY_USERS >. By DEFAULT > Control Panel > keyboard > InitialKeyboardIndicators +.
There you can right click and set the value to 2.
In many forums said, change the value from 0 to 2, but I have 10 numbers as the value. So I didn't do it...

Please, someone knows how to change?
    Thans in advance!

    Best regards
    Pieter

I tested it on my Satellite P200D and it did not work for me.
To be honest I don't see as so important because one key click you can turn on/off pad.

  • Constant flashing of capslock/numlock and long boot times

    Hi people,

I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1225dx and recently, he began to exhibit strange behavior.  Here's what happens:

1 to off (IE starting cold), it lights initially media buttons and a button / stop and the CPU fan will turn upward.

    2. then the fan stops, the screen stays completely off, and after 8 seconds the capslock and numlock lights will be flashing.

    3. these lights flash once every 4 seconds.

    4. after a variable amount of time (sometimes 1, sometimes 5 min, sometimes up to 20 minutes), the laptop starts to boot.

    5. windows 7 starts up fine and works without any problems except the BSOD occasional (but which has been the case for years with this laptop, so nothing new).

    6. the capslock and numlock lights continue to blink once every 4 seconds forever.  This is in contradiction with what I read on the support page for the vacuum to the screen LED HP Error Codes:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01443366

    7. Once Windows 7 has started, the laptop won't charge the battery.  It is said "plugged in, not charging."  The battery (Flash) light is not on or flashing, and the led power/AC is solid on (not flashing).

    8. I just replaced the battery with a genuine replacement from HP.  This whole slow boot/flashing capslock/numlock behaviour started before I replaced the battery.

    9. If restarting the laptop (hot start) starts immediately, but the capslock/numlock lights continue to Flash.

    10. with the laptop off completely, she says sometimes it recharges the battery, sometimes not.

I'm going to install and run the last HP Support Assistant to see if she could do this.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    -Paul

Looks like you ran into a variety of issues.

Unfortunately, the num lock caps lock flashes once very four seconds indicates a problem with the processor.  It is a result of follow-up of internal equipments in Notepad.

Processor issues can manifest itself in several ways.  Some are minor annoyances, some are complete failutes of the laptop and some are somewhere between the two.  Your processor is manifested in a way that lies between minor annoyance and a complete failure.  I've seen cases where a failure of the processor is originally a workbook for stuttering where the screen looks free for a fraction of a second everyone else then.  As you can imagine, it would be pretty boring.

This means that a service of equipment is necessary.  I'm sorry.

If it is under warranty, I would recommend contacting HP support for a service order.

If it is not under warranty, please contact HP to get an idea of how much a repair would cost and weigh this option against a new laptop.

  • How to set NumLock on automatically when I boot

I want to put the plug to start so that when I get my lock screen and go type the password, I already have enabled Numlock. Where to find this for set it?  Since there is no signal on my screen or the keyboard to tell me that the num lock state and I always use the numeric keypad for numbers, I want to configure the NumLock at startup.

This option can be usually set in the BIOS of the computer. You did not mention what make and model of computer/laptop / notebook you use so it's somewhat difficult to give details, but you must enter the BIOS by pressing a specific key when you first start the computer and find, then change the setting for NumLck ON at startup.

You see a Toshiba splash screen at the beginning?

It could just be a memory, but in the worst cases, your motherboard is the problem

  • Satellite A200-1CR - black screen and no boot

    Model:
    Toshiba Satellite A200-1CR

    Question:
By pressing the power button to power on the computer for a full boot, the power LED lights up but still black screen (not even of lighting). The logo led 'Satellite' in the lower left corner of the chassis remains off while the HARD drive has made a unique quick snap; DVD activity led (the device) always remains on even without any CD inserted, by pressing the eject button do nothing (status bar is locked) and no sounds of activity.
No logo screen of boot (show stays), not of beeps dark and wide, no DVD or HARD disk activity, keyboard seems does not (all combinations that should light up an led, capslock, numlock, etc, does nothing), the fan works.

I have already (without success) tried:
-Unlock the tray, insert the rescue CD and power on
-Remove the main battery and power on with AC adapter only
-Insert a bootable USB stick/external HARD drive

The computer worked as expected the day before and there has not been any kind of shock. Described is the situation I faced when I turned on the next time (only 24 hours later).

    What could be wrong?
    Thank you.

Well, looks like hardware problem; Maybe the memory problem or something serious with the mother or the CPU. It of really difficult to say what could cause this.
You can try to check the RAM modules.
Trying to start using a maybe only module, it is useful in the case otherwise I fear, you will need assistance from technicians Toshiba ASP m

  • Portege M200 - the keyboard does not work and I can't boot from CD/DVD

    Hello

I recently tried to install VM Player on my Toshiba M200. When I restarted my computer, I found that my network connections did not work. I tried to uninstall the reader of the VM, but it failed to halfway. As the program has created a number of virtual network connections which I couldn't remove, I went into the registry and remove the 20 entries or while I thought when linked.

I rebooted and found my keyboard HID devices and Wireless does not. So I started using the ketyboard softward to try to resolve the problem. I was able to reboot and login using the software keyboard until I did a restore to the last parameter of normal startup. How, rather than get my login window, I get a message asking me to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete. When I do using the software keyboard I get another window saying due to security, I have to press key instead of Ctrl-Alt-Delete Windows security. When I press the button on the key of Windows security on the lower side right of the screen, nothing happens.

What I can do. I have also tried to attach a USB CD drive (Philips) but can't get the laptop to boot from it. I get an error message (so I had to research readers of CD boot) saying the laptop can not find the drive. The CD comes on during startup, but only for a second.

I'm desperate so please let me know what options I have or what I can do about it. The physical keyboard works during startup until the first Windows startup screen appears. No NumLock or such work at the time when I get to the login screen.

Thanks in advance for one advise you can provide.

    Hello

A long history on your question... I think the reason for this is why you deleted some registry keys. If you delete something in the registry of Windows, you really know what you're doing. You may damage the entire Windows system!
So I think that's the reason why the keyboard doesn t more.

In the manual, I founded the CD-ROM boot option is available with the optical disk option.
So for me it sounds like that your CD USB drive is not compatible with the laptop

  • Satellite Pro L10 boot password is not the same as in HWSetup

I recently got a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 by my employer. I entered a password and then confirm the password again in the configuration of HW from Toshiba in Control Panel of Windows XP. Then I clicked on the recommended option. No string or password was displayed in the box under Registered.

Since then, I was not able to boot up the laptop as the password that I entered Setup of HW is not recognized by the laptop started upward. I tried to type the password with caps lock, shift, and numlock on also. Are there any bugs or fault with defining a password for starting in the HW configuration utility? If there is a fault or a bug I would have preferred that the portable computer password is removed under the guarantee.

If I have to pay a Service partner.

    Hi Geoff

On this path, it is not easy to tell what's going on exactly, but I assume that your employer has implemented BIOS password. You can enter the BIOS settings by using the F2 key at startup?

The BIOS password removal is not part of the guarantee and it must be paid. In my opinion, you must bring the laptop to your employer. He probably has Admin rights and it can set up passwords on the right track.

Is it possible to activate the NumLock @ boot, as on the bios?

  • P50: activate numlock always

Simple question: How do NUMLOCK is always turned on, beginning the startup (when the password or PIN code are reported)?

I did not find this option in the BIOS.

    Thank you

OK, changing of InitialKeyboardIndicators to 2 for each user account in the registry worked for me.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_10-start/NumLock-on-at-startup/aa38d6b5-78a...

However, I think that Lenovo must still put this option in the BIOS boot menu.

  • P50 boot Workstation Dock problems

I have a P50 with i7-6820, M2000M, 16GB. If I have the laptop docked and boot restart or cold it won't start, fans throw high and the screen remains black. I can turn off or unplug the monitors when it's like this and it's not helping, the caps lock or numlock key won't change, as if its not display at all.

If I anchor when it is in standby, hibernation, or active, it works fine.

The only thing that works is undocking, hold down the power button / stop switch on/off and reconnect.

I have a USB Hub (Dell P2715Q USB Webcam/speakers plugged) and two 4 k monitors. A 4 k monitor is on the view port on the dock and other is on Thunderbolt 3 adapter DP.

Is anyone else having this issue, known or planned to be fixed?

  • Y580 OneKey Theater + NumLock problem

    Hello

I recently did a clean install on my new SSD and now I can not find driver OneKey Theater for Lenovo Y580 Windows 7 x 64. Any ideas where I can download it?

Also my NumLock key does not boot when I start the operating system. It is not because of the system because registry numlock is set to its 2 ordinary (init at startup) and Lenovo BIOS is really poor, so I can't set up inside her. Any ideas, Tips how to operate? It becomes quite boring.

Thanks for any answers in advance.

    Simon.

Interesting P.S.: I had to apply my warranty because my keyboard was damaged when I bought the laptop, so I contacted Lenovo Support and I created a new service order. The operator asked me what is the problem then I said: "my keyboard is damaged and numlock does not start at the start of my operating system." His response was: "I don't understand, if you are able to squeeze and turn it on, what's the problem then? I guess I don't have to explain why I gave up to convince that, for me, it IS a problem and a bit boring. I use a password number

  • Keep NumLock

Whenever I wake my phone in "standby" mode, the NumLock feature is disabled, even if it was active before he fell asleep.  I already changed the values for HKEY_USERS Regedit. By DEFAULT, control panel and then 2 keyboard and this fixed the digital lock being off at initial boot upward.  My problem is related only to wake up from sleep mode.  No matter how woulf advice appreciated.

    Jim

According to this, quite a few registry keys need to be changed to do things.

  • Boot problem - code blink?

    Hello

I'm new here so apologies if I have not found one already answered about.

I have a HP dv7 laptop (model 17.3 "2009) and when have pulled up the screen is empty (not yet turned on), the NumLock & caps lock flash simultaneously and continuously at an interval of approximately 3 seconds. I read up on the "hp blinking codes", but as I interpret it, none of them don't apply to me...

My understanding is that there should be a number of flashes/beeps then they must stop, and, if you want the phone to repeat the code to push the power button...

Is there an any code of default for this, or even a will?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hey Christopher-B,.

Unfortunately, it seems that this could be the crackling 1 blink indicating a processor failure. The model 1 blink is just as you described: Blink, pause, pause, blink, blink, pause and so on. You may have already encountered this document on blink codes before, but it will give you more information on this issue.

Your computer never boots up correctly, or you get the code flashes each time? If this happens every time, it is possible that the processor just needs to be reinstalled. Most likely, it must be replaced.
