Office Jet Pro 8620: Office Jet Pro 8620 offline

Printer goes offline that every time computer is turned off.  Was able to get online by power off and restart the printer.  Now, nothing works to get back online.  Internet service provider recently made some changes to my router.  When I run the wireless network Test results and the network of the printer Configuration Page, everything looks ok.

Hey @jrinop,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some problems with printing of 10 Windows PC to your Officejet Pro 8620 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
  2. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
  3. Click on remove the instrument.
  4. Repeat for any other icon of your printer listed.
  5. Click Add printer, and follow the prompts to add a new queue for your PC.

Please let me know if you are able to print after doing the above. If you are, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Office Jet 8620: Networked 8620 Pro always 'offline' in Windows 10

My Office Jet Pro 8620 is still retained as 'offline' Windows 10, even if my printer Hp Assistant still connect to it fine.  The printer is on a network via ethernet cable and is always available via the internet printing as well.

I finally gave up using the HP driver for device Pro 8620 and 8620 name and started using HP ePrint as my printer driver default, which seems to have solved the problem for now.

I checked the version of my driver 8620 and HP reports it as current.  Is there a newer driver coming that will address this problem or, Alternatively, is there a generic Windows driver that I can use which will correctly yield the printer to be online?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Thank you for using the forum.

You can try creating a TCP/IP port?

    Creating a TCP IP port

    1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer IPv4 address (you can also tap on the icon wireless on the front panel of your printer to obtain the IP address)
    2. On your PC, go to control panel configuration, devices and printers, right-click the printer and on the left, click printer properties, select the Ports tab.
    3. Click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.
    4. Type the IP address for the printer.

Note that you can ALWAYS go back to the original port the HP software installed by selecting the HP port on the Ports tab (in the properties of the printer)

    Thank you.

  • Office Jet Pro 8500 offline will not be printed

Help, please! I can't get my Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless print. I had this printer since early September and did not it works wireless on my laptop with the exception by using the USB configuration.

I have a Dell laptop that I had problems at the beginning to recognize the printer, but it does now. But when I go to print, I get an error message that the printer is 'offline' and I get another error message "failure of the document to print. I made sure that the printer is online via the Control Panel, printers etc. sequence. I turned off the printer and unplug the router, too which is a Linksys WRT350N Wireless N. But in vain. I have desktop Dell that is wired through the router works fine, just like two other laptops wireless HP and a Sony Vaio that print wireless. The last two under Vista, so that the Dell laptop in question runs XP Professional and the Dell XP desktop computer. I have the same problem with a HP C4500 wireless that works very well with all the computers in my house except the Dell laptop. Any help is appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    DeeDubb

Yes, it's your problem.  VPN will not allow an accessory device network, including printers, while VPN is active.

Went to work stations, said the printer offline. My son, who is a guy of student and tech University has reinstalled, updated, etc. that still does not work. What's wrong? Can anyone help?

    Hello @LouMar,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I understand your HP Deskjet 2542 shows offline and you cannot print. I see that you have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers without success. Looks like you may need to rerun Setup wireless. Please follow the steps listed below:

    1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.

    2. remove the HP software DJ 2542 uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. make sure that all the software DJ 2542 disappeared from the list programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.

    5. now go ahead and download the software and drivers for your DJ 2542, please select the USB to wireless conversion (DO NOT connect USB until the software prompts you to):

    6. go ahead and print a test page.

  • VMware View - Virtual Office registry key based offline IP address of the client?

    Hi VMware Experts-

I try on VMware View 5, but I'm stumped. Our basic used by the personnel application is accessible via Citrix ICA. I want to start the Citrix ICA application inside the view. This application is one that rent us the 3rd party (several States away) and the method used to connect to it is not editable. The application launches successfully, but a problem.

When we launch the Citrix ICA connection a registry key is read from the local computer (in my test, it is the virtual office). It is a key, we added that contains the IP address of the machine. The IP address of the key is used by the application accessed through Citrix ICA to assign the user to a number of specific printers.

My question is: after user authentication, how can I have the Desktop read view IP local of the customer who connects, then put this IP address as the registry key in the virtual office? This should happen during each connection, because users are not in the same job every day. I use Windows 7 Pro 64 bits for virtual offices.

    Thank you!

The customer who connects IP are located under the key of HKU\Volatile environment.    You can use this to fill in everything you need.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6970: HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 offline after 1 day - will not print

Buy HP OfficeJet teacher last Sunday - put in place the tablecloth as a whistle on my HP Desktop (wired). After a mystery visit to find the WPS PIN code, I had a HP laptop (wireless) installation. looking for a good...

So my wired computer now impossible to print - it goes through the router. But the laptop is still the impression - so it's printing directly to the printer, and not through the router?

I had a Canon 2 printerd that (I thought) sucked into the sky high with the radio, but maybe it's the router.

However, several telephones are connected wirelessly, several other devices work correctly. It is a fairly new router from Verizon.

  • Office jet pro 8620: should I disable the printer without cartridge installed?

I removed the original HP ink that was defective and took it back. Now I have the inkjet (Office jet pro 8620) without cartridges installed. The printer says not to disable so that it does not get damaged but I'll be away for a week and want to turn the printer off. I will cause damage if they do?

Thank you. I guess I'll have to keep on like this for a week then. Too bad.
