Office Pro 6830 analysis without connection to a PC

This device is used as a stand alone fax and photocopier.  The scan function can work without a PC?  It performs the scan page (s) to its USB port with an inserted flash drive?

Yes, you can scan to a disk on key, however, note that only JPG and TIF formats are supported for such.

We bought the HP Office Pro 6830 a month ago and have had no trouble.  For the first time, I try to make a copy, probably the SIMPLEST function for this device to do!  I load the document, press on copy, select number of copies, hit enter and I get a sign of formidable yellow caution with the error 'problem scanner... '. Turn the printer off, then turn it on.  "If the problem persists, the scanner has is damaged and can not copy or scan ' mind you, we've never done a copy until today.  The printer prints very well of our laptops and iPad, even if it's FOREVER showing that it is offline!  Help, please... I just want to be able to copy and all the other features feature as HP claims should be available!

    Thank you

If you had less than 30 days you must return.

If you have more time than you have to contact HP support since you need a replacement machine.

HP support will tell you to make sure that its plugged directly into the wall and want to make sure that the firmware is upgraded to the current level.

The chances of patches that HP will recommend to make your machine work are slim, but they insist that judge you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830 does not connect to WiFi

I got the HP Officejet Pro 6830 for 6 to 9 months, it has been great to work wireless any time.  Three nights ago, we had a power outage, now the printer will not connect to the wireless router.  He sees the SSID, but when I enter the password, it says that the password is incorrect.  I use an ARRIS Cable Modem.  Any suggestions?

    Hi @CWoodland ,

I see that you are having problems with the implementation of the network again for the printer, you receive a message that the password is incorrect. I would really like to be able to help solve this problem.

I would check the network on the Mac password, to verify that the password is entered.
How to find the password WEP or WPA key for your wireless network.

You may need to restore the default settings of the printer, and then try again.

Go to configuration, network configuration, restore the network settings.

Then run Wireless screen of the printer configuration wizard again.

Go to installation, configuration, wireless settings, the Wireless Setup Wizard.

    Hey @mfbar,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that printer e-all-in-one Officejet 6830 and your Mac OS x 10.10 machine are not communicating. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    Turn the printer off.

While the printer is turned off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.

When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.

Now on the printer, click on the wireless icon that looks like a radio tower.

    • If the IP address starts with 169.254, the printer is not getting a valid IP address. Contact your internet provider or one that provided you with the router for assistance in ensuring the router assigns IP addresses.
    • If the IP address starts with 172, the printer is connected to a network of comments. Contact your internet provider or one that provided you with the router for assistance with deactivation of the feedback network.
    • If the IP address begins with 192.168, the printer is properly connected to the network. Please see below.
    • If the IP address begins with any other number, the network is maintained. Contact your computer or the one who manages the assistance network.

Once the above is done, if the Mac is still not able to detect the printer then the next step is to contact your internet provider or the one who provided the router. When you do, ask them to:

    • Open all ports.
    • Select multicast.
    • Disable MAC filtering/MAC cloning.
    • Make sure that the router has a band of 2.4 GHz (gigahertz).

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to connect to your printer, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

Could someone help. Recently I unplugged my computer to use just the battery mode. When I switched it on it took awhile to load my settings but also the speakers have been disabled. I had 3 hours of remaining battery life. When I connected to the Socket returned sound but I lost the "speaker" icon. That's happened?

    Hello

first of all, because you wrote that failure is there for some time (not from the beginning, failure does not appear when the laptop was purchased), I would try to exempt all the software problem. To do this, the best way is to recover the original laptop with Recovery CD/DVD.

If you've already tried this, I recommend contacting the local toshiba service partner.

    Hi @lous1

Given that you can print and the wireless seems to work well, I think that the best approach is to run the printing and scanning doctor first.

    Hi @kskhater,

It may be best to contact Apple to make sure everything is configured correctly and the necessary ports are open.

You can create a second admin account, is not on the privileges, it is to determine if there is a problem with your user profile. The question might have something to do with your printing system. I know that the issue is scanning, but the printing system, it's what the driver, and since we already have reset the printing system, Apple may need to reload, or the operating system. Create a second user account will help determine whether the problem is related to your account.

As you can see, at this point, we are at a stage of diagnosis, troubleshooting is the process of elimination. To identify the cause in order to solve the problem.

  • Office Jet Pro 6830: disappointed customer!

I just bought the Office Jet Pro 6830 to replace an old one that died. I find now that I can't install it on my Mac Pro Lapbook! The CD that came with the new printer had no program installation. He wants only to go online to install the printer.
I only use my printer to print files from my laptop as I HAVE NO INTERNET CONNECTION IN MY HOME! I tried to go to a WiFi with my laptop to download the installation, but get a 503? Tell an error message that I am not allowed to use the page.
I am 66 years old and disabled in order to take the printer elsewhere to install is out of the question. Furthermore, I live in the Bush with the city the more close 16 miles away!
Now, I'm sorry, I bought what I thought, it was a great replacement for my old Office Jet Pro. I will seek for a company that provides the installation CD WITH the printer!

    Hi @Madoldlady,

You must update the 10.6 to 10.7 to use this printer.

The printer works on the MacBook Pro 10.7. The CD should install the drivers on the Mac 10.7.

If not, then I suggest you get the drivers of someone else who is on the internet and save it on a drive flash and then you can install the drivers on your computer from the flash drive.

I hope this helps. Thank you.

  • Office jet pro 8610: wireless network connection

We have an office pro 8610 jet that is connected to the router wireless via a connection cable, wireless to the printer should be turned off. 2 laptops in the House continually revisit the wireless printer output and plug. Why the laptop does not see the connect if the output of the printer wireless is disabled? Even if I check the box for this connection is not to be automatically connected to it will always connect when you turn on the laptop?

    Hello @richardbo,

Welcome to the Forums of HP and thanks for posting!

I understand that you have a problem with your devices wirelessly to the network that connects the printer e-all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 8610 automatically. I'd love to help you with this.

You are right on the assumption that the ethernet disables the ability of the printer to connect to a wireless network. However, the printer has a feature called live wireless. Basically, the printer will be broadcast a signal and act as a router so that you can connect devices directly to it. I suspect that's what devices are connected, then here are the steps which stops:

    1. On the homescreen of the printer, tap the Wireless live downstairs. ((Deuxième à gauche)
    2. Select settings.
    3. Select Direct wirelessand OFF.

Please reply to let me know if that solves the problem!

    Have a great day.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 constantly go 'offline' and cannot print

    Hello world.

I love my HP OfficeJet Pro 6830. It does everything I need a printer / scanner but it is one of the aspects that are really starting to annoy me and my family (i.e. my WIFE!) - he continues to go 'Offline '.

I understand perfectly that it needs/desires to go to save mode, when I'm not using it or have not used for some time, but for now, every time I have seem to need to use it (after I have not used for some time) of energy, it is listed as 'offline' and the only way I can print is stepping on him , turn off, turn it back on, wait a while so it connects to my WiFi network and then have another go. Then it works... and prints the other five copies of the document that my eager family tried to print!

"HP print and Scan Doctor" said he of just nothing wrong and just suggest just uninstall and reinstall. I already tried and it changed nothing. Same problem with Windows 7 and 8.1. It will print a page of 'internal' test, but not via Windows test page.

I also tried to restart the spoler and checked the 'File and Printer sharing' settings, the firewall settings and looked at the network discovery and run various windows troubleshooting tools without result. Nothing works, but the HP Officejet Pro 6830 software can see / communicate with him! It's so frustrating.

Someone at - it ideas? This really, REALLY boring. Thanks in advance to anyone who donated their time to help me.

    Regards,

    Steve.

I appreciate that you try to connect a 6830 e-all-in-one printer Officejet to your Mac OSX 10.5.8 computer. There is no driver available for this version of the Mac OS x. Use the Officejet 6830 you need at least Mac OS x 10.7.

  • Printer HP Officejet Pro 6830: OS 10.6.8 and Officejet Pro 6830

I just bought a HP all-in-one Officejet 6830 Pro printer, fax, scanner, copier.  I connected it to my laptop, a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8.  It copy in color, but it will not print from a file in color.  He apparently correctly scan in color, but not to print the scanned in color.  How to print in color?  I can't upgrade my system because I will not be able to access critical software.  What recourse do I have?  When I bought it was incompatible with some operating systems, there is no warning!

    Hey @cshein,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I understand that you encounter an incompatibility between your old version of Mac OS and your new HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to help.  I can certainly sympathize with you on this one - even if your Mac is not old in real terms, Snow Leopard not blessed with a specific driver for your printer.  I have a workaround that you can try:

The steps I posted in another thread here suggest using the generic PCL driver for the Mac.  This thread is about a former printer used with Yosemite, this article indicates that the similarities between the latest version of Mac and Snow Leopard are close enough to my advice work with your devices.  Let me know if this approach to configuration works and allows you to print in color.

Note that the generic PCL printer driver probably won't make you analyze the features of the computer.  If you want to scan without using HP software, click here to get suggestions from HP on how to do it.  Note that this article 10.7 Mac users - oriented steps must always be relevant as Apple Preview, picture Capture and printing and scanning app are all common Mac OS applications that probably are Aussies in versions older Mac OS.
