OfficeJet 4620 wants to power down, but won't start button / stop

Most of the time the printer/scanner works fine, but sometimes it "sulking" and wants the power off, but won't the power button.

I have a switch in the extension cord to the electric line which I use in these moments there (better than pulling the plug?).

When the current is applied again the printer usually goes back to work.

Sometimes he blames me for not using the power button - I really try that and generally goes back to work when I promise to do better in the future.

Yet at other times, he wants the power cut off, even once.

The printer is connected to the router via wifi.  Two computers are connected by ethernet to the router using Windows XP or Linux (via hplip).  One or more laptops can be connected to the router using Win7 or Linux (via hplip) wifi.

(Really) thanks for your help and suggestions, but I think I've reached my limits.  I followed your link and entered the information produced.  The result is that the warranty expired 11 days ago.  It's an interesting period of guarantee; ten days of 27 months.  I bought September 15, nearly 11 months ago.

When I left my pc last night, everything seemed fine.  I decided to leave it on and not yet started to disconnect, etc..  Not sure if there was anything during the night (update?) which requires a reboot, but, when I'm happened to pc this morning it was hanging at the "Windows is shutting down" screen... "Windows and continued so for a few hours I tried to understand.

This happened to me for the first time last week.  I don't have another source to the internet at the time, so I have 'given' and ended up using the power button.  I rebooted and immediately stopped to see if it would happen again, but everything was fine.  (Knew I should have troubleshooted!) I'm going batty at this stage.  Any guidance appreciated.

    It might be.

I know that superantispyware does not remove itself completely as you use their uninstaller or add/remove.

Obviously, it's one of their drivers still installed, you must remove this item and then check if you still have a problem.

    Post back with the results.

There are several posts on this problem, perhaps one of them will help you if removal of the driver does not.

  • OfficeJet 4620 analysis no or copy but no print

My Officejet 4620 analysis no or copy but no print. The top is out, but I had reset (I hope). Unable to get above where take place tie scan and copy.

    Hello dbertentha,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you have a problem with scanning and make a copy.

I see that you said that the upper part of the printer broke but you were able to get back on and now that is where the problem is happening with not being able to scan or copy.

You are able to print, so we know that you have a communication between the printer and the computer.

I do not think that this could be a hardware problem and if this is the case, we will then have to contact HP Total care.

  • Options for the power button Windows XP to ask what I want to do when the Start button / stop is pressed

Original title: Start button / stop - "ask me what to do" - where is it?

Under XP, when I pressed the power button I could put it "Ask Me what to do." This is very useful for two reasons:

-My PC is under my desk, and if I'm not careful, I can press the power button with my knee...

-To turn off, I can hit the power button / stop rather than start etc, then choosing.

The feature exists on Windows 7 (press alt + F4), then how do you link that to the press the power button? Why this was removed?

    Hello

Yes, there are only work-a-rounds and that is why I suggested that
thread. There are also a few details about why he was abducted that
are especially that in general as it caused more problems than it solved. Then
for those who have used the function correctly, it is a concern when trying
to restore its functionality. To my knowledge, is not 100%
this case, just ability cannot be added in by a registry setting
as support has been totally removed. If this is the case, then the work - a-

Please let us know if you find a better solution.

I just got the HP spectrum x 360 on the Store of MS (signature edition). The power button on the side flashes and it won't turn. I know that the battery is charged, because it is connected and there is a connedtion that the led is lit when the power cord is connedted to the laptop. But the power button continues to blink and I can't turn on the computer. I tried to tap on the screen and the Microsoft keyboard key. Any way to reset this? Thank you

OK, I found the answer. It was a hard reset. Just hold the Start button for 20 seconds (or until it no longer flashes) then wait a bit and you can restart the laptop.

  • All-in-one Officejet 4620 HP loses connection wireless network when it starts in mode 'sleep'

My printer HP 4620 all-in-one wireless works fine until it enters mode "Eve".  Once it goes into sleep mode, it is not wake up if a print job is sent to it.  If I wake up it manually by pressing the power button flashing, she does still not print.  If I've completely put off and then on again, the print job that has been put on hold on my computer will start printing, but it's a huge pain and loss of time almost everytime I want to print.  I installed all available updates.  I also assigned a static IP address in an effort to correct this, but nothing helped.  I see that others have complained about this problem, but I see not that anyone has had success resolving this.  My operating system is Windows Vista.  I use a Sys-Link Wireless G Router.  Thank you.

Ok.  My printer worked flawlessly for a few days, and I think I can declare the problem solved.  I think the problem started when I applied a HP recommended workaround for a different problem, that is, HPNetworkCommunicator.exe kept running and goes out 10-15 seconds, with the cursor displays activities whenever the program is running.  When I reversed this workaround solution, solve the problem wireless (but of course, I had once more the annoying problem with HPNetworkCommunicator.exe).  I then discovered that HP had published a software release that fixes the problem with HPNetworkCommunicator.exe.  I installed the new version of the software.  HPNetworkCommunicator.exe is now fixed, and my wireless connection remains stable even when the printer goes to sleep.

  • Vista installs but won't start...

    Hello

Recently, my laptop started to fail. Nothing occurred which gave me an overview of what has caused this, but it started freezing randomly after anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes of use. Simple tasks would become unresponsive. I had to turn it off manually in order to restart. Then, he got to the point where it would not even start. I ran a diagnostic and it failed on the hard drive. I ordered a new hard drive and tried to install vista 32 bit using the disc that came with my laptop. He installed after awhile but when it's over, he would simply sit at a black screen with only the cursor showing. I left it overnight to see if she would do anything, and he didn't. I then unplugged the computer (did I mention that my battery leave simultaneously load when all this started to happen) and the computer turned off. When I boot it it goes to the window loading screen with the little bar that cross in the middle. The bar moves for a second or two, then stop for a second and then continues and repeats the process. Stop going, are going to stop. So I guess my question is... WTF! Dell wants $ 50 to tell me what is the problem... It's cheaper. If anyone has at all no inclination who would, please let me know. Thank you.

  • Mysterious problem - HP DL380 G7 Server - ESXi installs but won't start

Someone has already seen this? I have a new DL380 G7 server, I have 8 drives and installation with 2 bays, RAID10 (4 discs). ESXi 4 DVD comes from an ISO, I downloaded from HP (and have used on other servers as DL380 G6 without problem). The installation goes by at the end asks me to restart, and then I remove the DVD and restart. The controller, SmartArray P410 is defined as the boot device (there is one in the system) and I even try the F11 at startup and tell it to boot from HD... the screen is blank for a second then the server tries the other boot devices (network, etc.).

I am really puzzled. During installation, the installer sees the two logical drives very well. I took LogicalDrive0 to install to.

    Thoughts? I'm puzzled.

I agree with the suggestion of J1mbo . It is a good way to make sure that you install the operating system/ESXi on the expected logical volume.

Another possible way to make sure that you install on the logical volume is created volumes with slightly different sizes. (I usually create one with only 10 GB for ESXi). In this way, you will be able to take the logic unit number in the Setup program based on its size.

    Hello

Try to connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if pictures or anything else appears on the second monitor?
You can also try to use the FN + F5 combination to check if the display will change back to the internal display.

But look, man, if you are not successful then I guess there must be a serious hardware problem and only the laptop technician might know what's wrong.

  • Start button / stop won't do anymore t510 sleep?

    Hi guys

I used to be able to press the power button in the middle of my T510, (above the keys and the screen below) and it would put my laptop to sleep can take out sleep too.

For some reason any that now will be repeated more.  Very rarely, this work b8t most of the time that I have to sleep by pressing Fn + F4 which is a bit annoying.

[Can anyone suggest how I can do this job once again, or when you change the settings of these sorts of things]

    Thank you

    Alex

    Hello mate,

You can change this with the power manager. Open it in advanced mode and under your current diet plan, you can see events. Expand that to the power button / option, you have 4 choices: do nothing, sleep, off or in hibernation. Choose the one you want.

You can do it on windows as well. Go to control panel > hardware and sound > power options. On the left you can see choose to do this as the power button. Go ahead and change the setting.

  • Power down, windows 7 sets the Verr Num led on just before turning off

    I have a Fujitsu 101/102 PS/2 keyboard connected on a 64-bit windows system 7.

Recently, my motherboard has failed, and I installed a new motherboard, where I had to do some basic recovery for windows 7 to come.
Because then I find that when I turned off the system, during the eve of the sequence, when I get the screen power off mode, the indicator (Led) NumLock on the keyboard is turned off first, and then just before that the system turns off the Num Lock Led is lit once again and of course remains on until I then use my PC.
I would like to get a solution to this problem.

The State of the Num Lock is determined by the BIOS during POST (Power On Self Test). It is not defined by Microsoft during the power down, but the BIOS of your computer can trigger the light briefly during a stop.

If you enter the BIOS of your computer during the power upward (F4 maybe?), you should be able to find a framework that governs the State of the NumLock at startup. Change this option to what you want and save your output settings.
The BIOS settings are retained by EPROM chips on your motherboard, which explains why things have changed with a new motherboard.
  • Pavilion all-in-One: trying to recover PC Win10 that won't start

I'm trying to implement a new Win10 PC.  It is a HP desktop all-in-One (model 23-q112) with a touch screen.  I do not want to Touch, so I disabled it in the Device Manager.  For some reason, key has been activated again a few reboots later.  It can occur through Windows Update.  I'm not sure.  I tried to disable it again, but my computer froze.   I had to power down.  When I started again, I got the HP logo screen, then a white screen, then the HP logo screen came again once, and then a Windows screen with the date & time on it.  Start stop right there.  I can't go any further.

Does anyone know if/how I can get this?
