  I see by your post that the printer will print a page, then a blank page, then it pull the next piece of paper in until you press the button. I can help you with that.

  Looks like the paper source is set to manual because after pressing the button, it continues to print.

  Try and print a self-test on the printer hardware to see if it is a hardware or software problem.

  Print a self-test Page.

  Select the method: use the control panel to print a self-test page.

  When you print from iPad or phone using AirPrint, Airprint menu displays the message 'printer is out of paper' whenever the JO 5740 is selected, and yet the printer is full and prints normally without worrying. On Mac, printing queue always shows "paper tray is empty", still prints normally anyway. He did it since the first time I ever printed on it. I did an online chat with the help of HP, and the representative concluded that the printer was defective. I switched the printer at the store that I bought it since then, and the second printer does exactly the same thing from the moment I plugged it. The printer itsself never shows a warning of paper output. Removal and replacement of paper do not help. In any case, I'm wireless printing.   Jac I found this on my own. HP was going to replace this printer because they concluded that it was defective. However, it works as expected! This printer has two paper, one for plain paper trays and one for paper photo 4 x 6. Because I do not print photos, I didn't load the photo tray. Thus, each device notified me that the printer is in paper. All I had to do was load the paper picture sample provided with the printer and the BAM!, no more message. I can't believe I spent an hour on the phone with the help of HP check of the cables, reinstall the drivers, reconfiguring wireless, move the printer closer to the router, blah, blah. They don't even know their own products.

  After jam paper and jam, clearing printer turn on, goes through current transport parks, start right, flashing lites power and resume. Doctor says print "general Printer Error. Open the lid and now transport stops in the Center and all the lites normals. With lamp torch and lid open (with cardboard in photo electric switch) and print head installed in position, pressing on the set of the view CV under presses of subsequent print head print head to prevent fresh ink while the printer is in sleep mode, remove the cardboard (lid open simulating) tray does not move downwards releasing the print head. Has gone through all six steps of the Solution and no help. Impossible to open the case to observe the load mechanism. Nothing else to try? Printer purchased January 2011 and printed only 5003 + pages and no problems so far. Do not throw with using more than that most just bought full set XL HP 920HP cartridges. should be possible to solve other than maintenance workshop, can buy nine being the least expensive.

  However, the HP Deskjet 9800 driver is not available for Windows 10... you have another driver I can use that would work with Windows 10 and which is compatible with the HP Officejet Pro 8600... ???

  Use the HP Deskjet 6940 as another driver, if it is not listed under HP it appears after clicking the Windows Update button in the Add Printer dialog box:

  1. Right-click your printer 8600 and select printer Ptoperties. A note which port is selected under Ports.
  2. Click Add a printer.
  3. Click on 'the printer that I want isn't listed.
  4. Select A Local port or a netowrk with manual settings.
  5. Select the port used by your printer.
  6. Select HP
  7. Select HP Deskjet 6940
     Note: Click on Windwos update if it is not listed under HP.
  8. Fill the wizrd and 6940 driver allows you to print a document custom formats.

  I use a portable printer Officejet 4215xi and s Probook 4530 computer (windows 7). It will not be printed, but present in the queue. When I open the page of the printer in the Control Panel on the computer, it says that I have more paper. I'm not. I turned off the printer a couple of times and restarted. Still not printing.

  I've seen many times where the OS told me I was on paper, but the printer was never trying to print and have concluded that the operating system is sometimes.

  Sometimes, the problem was a simple like a loose cable, & I was able to verify that the operating system was disinformation me.

  First I would check my USB cable is plugged at both ends, the PC and the printer.

  If I'm connected wireless, then I'd temporarily install a USB cable to test the printer.

  You've restarted the PC? I need to ask this somewhere, just in case.

  You should check in your queue and ensure that the printer is not inadvertently paused.

  You will need to remove and reinstall your driver. You may need to delete all the print jobs before you delete the printer. And if you are connected through USB disconnect from the removal of the printer driver and then reinstall the printer.
