Officejet 6310: cartridge error
I regularly get messages "Cartridge error" as follows: "both cartridges are not intended for this printer" or "both cartridges must be replacred" or another message saying something like the cartridge on the left is incompatabnler & needs replaced.
My solution has been to remove and reinsert the same cartridges that have been installed. Sometimes, I also have to slide the cartridge door by hand from left to right the printer. After going through these gyrations, the printer will work for a few days and then one of the same error messages appears & the printer stops working until I reintall 1 or 2 cartridges and/or slide the cartridges on the right side of the printer.
Hi @txquacker,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.
I understand that your HP Officejet 6310 all-in - One Printer shows "cartridge error: one or two cartridges are not intended to be used to this printer ' error, which is temporarily solved by removing and reinstalling the cartridges and sliding manually the carriage from left to right." I would like to help with that.
Here is a specific document on this issue - ' cartridge error: one or two cartridges are not intended to be used for this printer "Error Message."
Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.
In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.
Thank you!

I have an Officejet 4315 - received the flashing! (orange light) and the message 'cartridge error-see you in the documentation for the device. Use new cartridges HP 21 and 22. Took out them, inspected, cleaned, etc.
Cannot print page test/alignment.
Uninstalled and reinstalled printer software. No luck. Flashing! just got back after having disconnected and uninstall/reinstall.
How to solve this error?
Thank you
Cathy
Remove the black print cartridge and keep only the color cartridge to verify the message. Now remove the color cartridge and only insert the black cartridge in and check the message. This should give an idea on what cartridge has a problem.

I cleaned the contacts of color and black ink, but the message remains.
I'm really sorry, but I lost faith in HP products...
Hi axolotl98
As the color cartridge is not HP, it is possible that this is the origin of the problem.
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00853819...
You can try to clean the contacts, because there could be some debris preventing a good connection (more details here )
Does it work?

Help! With this error message, it is not allowing me to print at all. I did the steps to clean the cartridge and carriage of the printer inside, twice with no result. HP officejet 7580 print cartridge error message
I have a HP officejet printer 7580 all-in-one with the error message "the following ink cartridges appear to be missing or damaged. Magenta (M) "I followed the instructions on the HP site troubleshooting, first changing the magenta cartridge, clean the electrical contacts on the print head, then replace the printhead and I still get the same error message.» I then removed the cartridge yellow and still only had the same error message about the magenta cartridge, even after restarting the printer. In my view, that it must be a problem with the software or the chip of the computer on the printer itself. Someone at - it suggestions for me?
Looks like you did a lot of troubleshooting for the cartridge error number. The areas of print head and cartridge are separated in the OJ series L7580 printer, so the effect print head not this error. The error comes from the electrical contact with the cartridge in question, appears magenta of the post.
Follow the steps described in the document, found here, to solve the problem and determine if the error comes from the cartridge or the electrical system internal printer.
I hope this helps.

HP 339 and 342 cartridge is not compatible with HP Officejet 6310 bought in Australia
Hello
I bought a HP Officejet 6310 All in One printer, a certain number of years in Australia. We went to Croatia and they do not sell HP cartridges 95 and 98, I've bought so far. However, they sold be HP 339 and 342 cartridges.
When I installed these cartridges panel screen mentions that they are incompatible with this printer, even if the packaging, he mentions that they are compatible with the HP OfficeJet 6310.
Can anyone help me please with this problem.
Thanks in advance
Bozidar
Hi Nathalie,.
I'll try to ask again, but the person to contact at the start Center said I'd see the dealer for a refund or Exchange.
Thanks for your help

OfficeJet 6310. Brand new problem. This morning my 92 black (right) went dry and as soon as I replaced it the printer said my tricolor is bad. With the 95 the printer now shows "left cartridge needs to be replaced" and with the 93 the printer now shows "cartridge not intended for this printer." There is no point at all. Restarting, cleaning the contacts and heads, nothing seems to work. The cartridges are HP OEM fresh out of the blister, no refills. I used the 93 both cartridges lights 95 alongside 92 black for a few years. Foreigners have infected my printer. Anyone have any ideas? Someone two days ago posted basically the same problem with their so 5740 printer.

Officejet 6310 printer will not print.
Again - the cartridge and DATED? Did you remove all plastic covering the nozzle before insert? Have you read in the Quick Installation Guide that you have when you first set up the printer?
If still no joy and it's a genuine HP cartridge, contact HP and get them to replace it.

I just bought a used all-in-one Officejet 6310 printer. I do very little color printer and have another printer for when I need to print in color, so wonder if I should have an installed color printer cartridge works.
Yes you can. Just remove the color cartridge and the printer will enter in what is known as a backup mode. The printer will ask you every time that you print if it is correct continue without the cartridge, and there is no way that goes. However, it is possible.

HP Officejet 7610 - damaged cartridge Error Message
I have a new HP Officejet 7610 - less than 2 months old. It has been working fine until today when the magenta cartridge supplied with the printer is empty. The printer told me to replace, that I did with a new HP ink cartridge. As he tried to reset, accepted the cartridge, it gave me an error message:
"One or more cartridges appear to be damaged." and poster cyan and yellow. The two who are aged less than 2 weeks and new HP cartridges themselves.
So, I replaced both cartridges with two new HP ink cartridges. I keep getting the same message.
How can I fix it?
Hello jgfry,
I'm sorry to hear about your problem with your new 7610 Officejet ink cartridge. Please follow the troubleshooting steps in the guide below. If you get to the last step, which is to replace the printer, please call HP Technical Support to ask for a replacement.
A "Incompatible cartridge" or "Cartridge problem" Error Message appears on the printer control panel

OfficeJet HP5510 remove and check black print cartridge error
Hi, my OfficeJet 5510 was printing very well. Then suddenly gave me the error "remove and check black print cartridge". The cartridge has plenty of ink. Remove and replace the cartridge. No luck. Past to another black HP cartridge. Same mistake. Any suggestions?
Hello
Only two suggestions for you, but they might do the trick:
Try the troubleshooting steps as much as possible the documents below. The only step that you should ignore is to buy a new cartridge, since you just got a new.
