OfficeJet 6500 more Wireless connection.

I bought an OJ6500 more and tried to connect to my wireless network. My wireless access Point is a D-Link DWL-G700AP.

I got this wireless network running for more than two years. We recently acquired an iPad and searched printers wireless in the compatibility list, one of which is the OJ6500. I had trouble connecting to the wireless network and I talked to HP Support and they advised I should have the printer replaced, so I returned to the store and they gave me a new.

I have exactly the same problem with the replacement. Having said that, it will connect to my wireless network.

Details.

I run a set SSID. (no question here that the network OJ6500 Wizard can find my SSID)

I run the WEP 128 bit shared key. (all other devices on the network connect successfully using the same WEP key).

I run MAC filtering. (I also tried running without MAC filtering, but still no connection).

The DWL-G700AP acts as a DHCP server. (I don't see any indication that the OJ6500 gets all requesting an address. DHCP - in fact, I want to make it static, but can't see how... yet)

I updated the Firmware of the DWL-G700AP, just in case, but still no connection.

All the PC's on the network are wired with static IP, and install the CD software seems to want to know the details wireless, which of course is of little value as the PC must print to a printer on an IP address.

Does anyone have any suggestions of 'useful', before you take this one back and get a refund?

Hello

All the latest HP products does not support authentication Shared Key Wep, which is the least secure methods available.

Enter the configuration of your router, click the Wireless button on the home tab.

Set authentication as an open system and apply the changes.

* Be sure to reboot your router if requested.

Run the Wireless Setup Wizard in the printer menu and it should connect no problem now.

The specific configuration, no matter what device currently connected to your network wireless must stay connected by its settings.

Please let me know any progress,

Shlomi

  • Mac: Officejet 6500 e710n wireless connectivity problems

    Printer: HP Officejet 6500 e710n-z

    Mac OS x Lion 10.7.5

I have successfully been printing wirlessly with my Offiject 6500 e710n for over a year. Connectivity comes and goes but I was always able to reconnect them by restarting the printer or reconnect them via the IP address of the printer.

However it doesn't work anymore. I tried to uninstall the printer drivers and reinstall and now the printer is not found wireless on the network at all (despite the fact the wireless printer shows all connections very well). I tried the following:

-Add the printer manually using the IPv4 address--> says device not found

-IP address of the printer type in my web browser--> says unable to connect because the server is not responding

-connect via the usb port on the printer--> recognizes the printer, set up the wireless network, says disconnect and then it disappears again, says device not found

I'm starting to run out of ideas... Any suggestions to help me reconfigure / reinstall my printer to make it work again would be greatly appreciated!

Solved the problem - power source disconnected both router and the printer for 60 seconds, then restarted devices and it seemed to fix things

Thank you for your reply, I tried your suggestion, but it did not work and the reason was a driver error. I have re-installed the driver software of HP and so far that seems to have solved the problem! I guess time will tell. • OfficeJet 6500 a: cannot connect Officejet 6500 wireless network has

I had my Officejet 6500 has connected to my computer cable for the past two years.  Now I'm setting up a wireless connection.  In the control panel of the printer, I have chosen settings - Web Services Setup - "Yes to allow to the Web Services-'Yes' to accept the terms of service.  So I wonder for a proxy address.

I followed several older directions found in the forums on how to set a proxy address, but have had no success.  (Including printing the Configuration Page of the network, which was supposed to give me the IP address of the printer, but didn't).  There are indications to unplug the printer, while he was still on, then wait 30 seconds before plugging it in.  Then I tried to unplug the printer while still on, then disconnect the wireless router while still on, wait 30 seconds, and then plug in the router, leaving the network back to the top, then plug the printer back in.

In the upper right corner of my control panel, there is a small symbol which seems to be the end of a cord.  So I guess that the printer is always set to a wired connection.  How can I reset for a wireless connection?  And when this is done, how to find a proxy address?  Thank you.

Again, I don't know why you do not see these menus. I suggest you call HP directly now.

  • CTCE Officejet 6500 Fax Modem connection has more

    ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

HP 6500 Officjet has more.  Time Warner Cable installed a telephone modem TWC eMTA and split the line of incoming telephone into the wall jack, while retaining the original outlet in Officejet 6500 has more connection as indicated in the manual of HP.

However, he then disconnected the connection back to Officejet 6500 has more to the telephone base unit, even if the installation HP statement indicates the connection shall be connected directly to the telephone receiver.

The technician then connected the TWC eMTA modem to the second part of the splitter to the wall outlet.  The phone works perfectly, but in the race a fax test fails a tone detection.

The fax test print States to remove the splitter and connect the fax directly to the wall socket, but remove the separator is not an option, as there is no connection to the eMTA TWC telephony modem.   The manual mentions also using a digital-analog filter or converter, like the Officejet requires an analog connection.

My understanding is that the reason for the direct connection from the HP device to the telephone receiver allows the fax listening to the phone line for a tone and a fax signal and respond to the line after 6 rings and to send a fax.

Don't attempt to send a fax test fax test HP 'No Answer' number statements, which means that the Officejet had no dial tone.

Suggestions for connections that operate, or what analog digital filter or converter to use, would be appreciated, like TWC has no solution.

I thought I had solved this case myself by disconnecting all connections made by this technology TWC and followed the manual of HP.  I started with the newly installed separator and reconnected the separator to the input line of the OfficeJet and connected the output of the OfficeJet directly to the phone base unit.  To get the connection telephony TWC, I connected a second line of the second take of the splitter modem telephony TWC (the latter which is connected to the TWC cable output).  Problem solved: NO - Fax tone, a tone phone and yells, but none of the calls incoming.  To get the incoming phone calls, had to disconnect the line from the phone base unit and reconnect the unit on base of telephone modem telephony TWC by result, incoming and outgoing calls, but not the Officejet, so no fax tone.

    =================================
I am not employed by H - P & I do not look for congratulations, fair solutions.

Gemini02: Thanks a lot for your attempt to help.  It turns out that he didn't need an analog filter or a converter.

'Knowledge-information technology-better than you' technology contract for Time Warner Cable didn't know what he was doing in a first step in dealing with the HP Officejet, or much else, as his only totally disconnected from the Officejet actions.

First of all, to the phone outlet, where the incoming landline connected initially to the Officejet, he installed a useless Dispatcher and reconnected the Officejet to it (a line now dead).  The connection to the Officejet was to be performed to a modem (direct line), Time Warner phone instead.  All of the remaining connections should have been left as they were.  Instead, this tech then connected the telephone base unit Panasonic TWC telephony modem (where a live telephone connection) and the outgoing line of Officejet to the second connection on the split bar newly installed (a deadline) and therefore no dial don't tone for the Officejet.

As I had no idea about the operation of the outlet now amended, there had me time again unplug everything and realize that the incoming connection was not this splitter connected outlet and , but in fact the modem telephony. TWC

Connected the Officejet directly to the modem telephony TWC, culminating in the Officejet tone.   The outgoing line the Officjet directly linking to the Panasonic phone plant, leading to the tone at the telephone base unit.  Sent a fax requesting a return fax, resulting in 4 traffic lights and answering machine pickup, and after 6 rings, received a fax.  The splitter is unplugged from the wall dead and thrown in the trash.  The problem is finally solved.

Thanks again for all the responses.

  • My Officejet 6500 more suddenly stopped printing wirelessly from my iPad 2

After working perfectly for several months, my 6500Plus HP E710n Officejet-z does not print wireless from my iPad2 or my iPhone 4 s. I use version 5.0.1 on these devices and had used this version before that the printing problem. I get the following message: "Officejet 6500 E710n-z [11E2A9] the printer is no longer available." The printer works fine (without thread) of my MacBook Pro in OS X 10.6.8 version. I "think" that there was an update from HP before it started, but I'm not sure of the timing. Any ideas on how I can get these mobile devices wireless print again?

What router?  Reboot the router by pulling its plug momentarily.

If this does not work, we will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • Status.msi error with installation of the hp officejet 6500 E709n wireless

    It's frustrating.

"I tried to install a full print driver software for my portable printer wireless hp officejet 6500 E709n and even if I can complete the process, I get this error message: the component you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource.

When I click 'OK', I get a "status: the path..." OK6500vE709_Full_14\setup\status\status.msi could not be found. »

I then get a third message that appears each time you start to the top of my computer hp laptop dv6871us: "Please wait while Windows configures the status.  And... It's constantly repeated ad nauseam.

How can I find the status.msi file and stop this endless loop of error messages?

    TX

Yes, it's very good information.  Thank you to be thorough to me.  I actually had this happen to me personally on my Windows XP and printer Photosmart older (different error message but even constant pop up).  I could easily (but a lot of time, I might add) fix my problem of:

    1. uninstall the printer from Add/Remove programs.

    2. run cleaning disc of all programs > Accessories > system tools > disk cleanup.

    3 restart the PC.

4 selection of a backup in CCleaner system option and then cleaning the registry using this tool. Click here and carefully read the reviews in CNET and opt to download the tool to see what I mean.

    5. restart the PC again.

    6. can download and install my printer on the site, but in your case, here are the drivers and the software feature full Officejet 6500 Wireless (the link is for the version of Windows 7 32-bit PC U.S.).

This can become very difficult at times, so I want to provide this very comprehensive document from HP which covers your exact error message and their favorite not to try.  Mine are a little easier but a 'tad - little' more risky because I provided a link to a specific 3rd registry part cleaner that you use at your discretion (there are others out there).  I like it because I can back up my system first in the case where that something else has been removed should not have been.  I don't have that happen, fortunately.  Please read this document as well just to be on the safe side.  I'm here to help (do not do worse) so let me know if I need to explain something better, but I think that you have everything you need here to start.

  • Need help: Officejet 6500 E709n wireless installation

After a month of successful use of the Officejet 6500 from my laptop (running XP Professional SP 3) wireless I suddenlly lost the connection. I have recently added a new software. I couldn't add the printer because it is not visible, even by using its IP address) to attempt to reinstall the drivers. I tried the original CD and both the full and scan and print install download options, both hang on to 94% full.  I used the HP help nothing works cat. The HP network diagnostic utility sees the printer and the fine network and does not indicate any problem. Yet, no installation or the HP Print diagnostic utility programs can see the printer.  I tried each facility several times, including repeat downloads. I am able to access the wireless printer from a Vista desktop and another laptop running Windows 7. The printer (and functions) works very well.  However, the XP laptop is my machine of the company, and I need it to work.  Any suggestions? Is there a way to install all the drivers without all the other stuff?

If printing is all you need, then I can help you.

    1. Go to the printers and Faxes folder, and click Add a printer.
    2. Now select "Locally connected printer" and UNCHECK "automatically detect the device.
    3. Now on the next screen, choose to create a TCP\IP port for the IP address of the printer.
    4. On the next screen, you will be asked to select the driver. Click on the 'Disk' button, then browse and select the file "autorun.inf" of the printer installation disc. Now the printer driver appears. Go ahead and select it.
    5. Complete the add a Printer Wizard and try printing.

I would like to know if it works.

  • OfficeJet 6500 will not connect to the network

OK - I know this ground was picked up, but I used every fix recommended here & come again empty-handed. Here's the deal: I have two Macs: a Mac Pro (Basic) and an iMac (remotely). Mac Pro running OS X.5; iMac runs OS X.6 (Snow Leopard). Cable ADSL from the wall to the router (Belkin pre - N); cable router on Mac Pro; HP 960C and JO 6500 has connected to the Mac Pro via USB connections separate. HP 960C and JO 6500 well work w / Mac Pro (by cable). HP 960C has worked (via radio) w / iMac up to what I've updated to Snow Leopard - no surprise b/c HP 960C does not (and will not) Snow Leopard driver. Wireless connectivity for iMac is fine except for OJ 6500 a. I tried everything - washing & re - install the software from the Apple website. Connection via IP address instead of the standard method (automatic); After installation by using the IP address, I get: "(IP address) is currently unavailable." Please check if it is turned on & connected or try again later. "or"home network is busy. I try to send a print job - it goes to the 6500 but 93% finished and then permanently suspended. Printer icon bounce on star red w Dock & number '1' on this issue. In the list of printers, 6500 has a Red House, rather than a green.

OK - I found the answer on the Apple site & boy is simple: (1) remove the printer since the two machines, (2) drivers turn off 'sharing' on the host machine, (3) install the drivers on the host, (4) install the drivers on the remote computer, (5) turn on printer sharing. Voila! It's a question of the order in which you do things...

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: Wireless connection is 'hogging' my bandwidth on router

Until this week, I have always connected my computer to my router via an ethernet cable direct. But recently I had to move my router to a different location so decided to use the wireless on my printer to connect to my computer (laptop). When I noticed that my wireless connection for the interest rate has been substantially reduced I started checking all computer products in my house (two IPAD, a desktop and my laptop). What I've discovered, it's my 8620 was "hogging" bandwidth of the connection to the router wireless. Even if the printer is not used (but on) he continues to reduce the speed of my connection to the computer. I discovered this by:

    (a) I disabled all the computers & IPADs, but left the printer on - the wireless light on the router keeps blinking like crazy

    (b) I turned off my printer with my computer and connection speed instantly jumped about 3 x the speed

So, with the printer off, the speed of my connection to the computer is about 3 times faster. I do not quite understand this and wonder why the printer connection to the wireless router is "hogging" bandwidth when the printer is not yet used?

    Someone has an idea?

    Hey @kenz1-_,.

    Hi @Aardvark1,.
    Thanks for your reply,
I tried many things before posting, as well as turn off and restart the nexus 5 or disconnect from the network.
I try to connect to the integrated Web server, I didn't know that it was possible to see the printer through the browser...
