OfficeJet 7780: wipe memory on officejet 7780

I want to erase the memory of my of old officejest 7780 before disposing of it, can not find the instructions online, please tell us how can I achieve this. Thank you!

HI - The Officejet 7780 is a line printer, which means that it keeps not entire pages in memory.  All you should have to do to clear the memory of all debris of print job is to unplug the power cord at the back of the printer for 2 minutes will reset the printer and clear anything memory of print job.

Hope that helps!

  • 7780 OfficeJet appears offline (wireless) after updating the firmware on the router

7780 OfficeJet appears 'offline' on every Windows PC (OS: Windows 7/32-Bit or Windows 8/64-Bit) in my 802.11 wireless home network, even though the printer is fully functional when connected via USB to a machine. IP address of the printer can be crazy, WES is available, PASS, network configuration page shows CONNECTED, firmware just improved to f2011 network test report.

HPPSdr shows the installed printer with the correct IP address, and when you print a test page printing Test HPPDU appears in the print queue for the printer (offline).

Router is configured with WPA-2 / AES, authentication of the printer is configured as automatic (1 - WPA or WPA-2) and automatic encryption (AES or TKIP).

THX - this isn't the channel. It is a SNMP flag set (on all machines). Disabling status SNPM magically let the printer reappear.

  • Failure to have Windows 7 Driver complete Set for Officejet 7780

Given the fact that HP is a 'partner' with Microsoft and that he was intimately involved in the development of Windows 7, it is rather shameful on the part of HP for not having a driver complete set available for the Officejet 7780 (and other models as well) the day of the launch of Windows 7.  Is there any truth to the idea that started floating that this selective delay in full driver set development is linked to an effort to 'persuade' Windows 7 users to abandon their older HP printers (but very good condition) to the latest models of HP?  For example, the HP Officejet 8500 series most recent printer already has a set of driver Windows 7 released earlier, but the Officejet 7780 does not, even if there are great similarities between the functions and features of the two units of the IOA.  Is that the kind of selective lack of support that we consumers of HP printers should expect from HP in the future?  This seems similar to the well-documented straw in the Vista driver for the HP Officejet 7410, that caused the second page of the duplex to be upside, and HP was well aware of this problem, but refused to offer a software patch to fix it for almost 2 YEARS!

    Hi ImaDingBat

I really regret this inconvenience. In order to not deprive to use certain features of the printer, HP has built in Win 7 drivers for nearly 700 HP printers including 7780 Officejet which provides the basic printing and scanning features. I do not understand the fact that it does not serve the purpose of the use of this product on Win 7. Here is the document that provides the ETA of the availability of the complete solution and steps to install the printer using built in solutions.

  • HP Officejet Pro L-7780 All in one-Windows 8 64-bit - cannot scan to PC public folder

See this post: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup-e-g-Windows-8/OfficeJet-Pro-8500-A910-... has the hope to solve my problem in the same way. No go. I installed the new firmware (R2011NxNxeN0), which did not help. My public folders are shared, open wide! When you use the scan to folder option, it seems to sweep very well, then I get the error: "network connection error. Check the network and try again. "Looking at the public record, there is a sitting fresh pdf file with a size of 0 KB. It's frustrating because it's a feature, I used every day. Juct works fine with Win7... Help!

Not that I know of. You can try emailing HP on it, but I doubt that it gets very far. Engineers and officials of this Department, are those that determine if the new firmware written is worth 'investing', and generally they do not write new firmware for printers that are more than 3 years. I'm sorry.

  • HP Officejet Pro 7780

My all-in-one worked well on our network until our ISP installed a new router (a Ruckus 2825. The company provides the router). Computers accessing the network very well. I use a MacBook Pro (10.5.8) and a Powerbook G4 (10.4.11).

When I went to use my printer, I used the menu to access the network to put the new password (WPA).  The printer would get a step especially (not necessarily the same every time) and becomes inadmissible.  The only way I could disable the printer was to cut off the power.  After reading the troubleshooting suggestions, I rebooted the printer by pressing on the # and 3 keys to go to the default network settings (also restarted the router).  I finally got the printer say it connected to the network but when I pressed OK, it froze again... out of order.

Should I reinstall my software?  Is - this indicative of a problem with my printer?  Help!  I NEED my printer/fax machine desperately!

    Thank you.

If the printer is frozen now, then turn off your router and then power drain the printer. Now turn off the radio wireless to the printer and switch on the router. I don't know that your router has an ethernet port. Then connect the printer to your router using the ethernet cable. Wait a minute and check the IP address of the printer by going to settings > network settings > view network settings > display wired summary.

Now open a browser and type the IP address above into the address bar and go to the printers' Embedded Web Server (EWS). Now click on networking on top, and then click 'Wireless 802.11' on the left. Then click on IPv4 settings on the top and enter the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS primary server address in this page and apply the settings. If you do not know the settings above, on the same page, click on the information tab, and then click Network on the left.

Once the parameters is applied, unplug the ethernet cable and turn on the radio on the printer wireless. Check if the printer hangs now. If all goes well, he should not.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 7780 connect wireless to the computer.

The printer worked very well for about three years, and then it didn't work on the connection of the USB cable.  I plugged in with an ethernet network cable and it worked for about nine months.  Then stop working.  If I am connected with a wireless router and that worked for about three weeks.  The wireless network Test report = PASS Radio, but the Radio works = FAIL.  The wireless Assistant can never find the wireless network.  Is there a solution or has this printer reaches the end of the life of lts?

    Hello

The wireless printer adapter is that turned bad that is the reason why it says wireless radio not working.the printer cannot be used with the usb or ethernet.

  • HP Officejet 6968: HP 6968 memory card?

Yesterday, I bought the HP Officejet 6968 at Best Buy. When I narrowed my search on the Web from Best Buy site, one of the features I was looking for was a slot for memory card. According to Best Buy descriiption plug, this printer includes a memory card slot. I looked all around the printer and I can't. I watched videos on Youtube and there is literally no mention of this. Description of specifications for HP.com does not mention a slot for memory card at all either. I guess if it's a function, it was, it would be mentioned in the description of the plug on the manufacturer's website. Usually, slot for memory card would be directly on the forehead, as my old printer, HP 6500 has. Some can please confirm if it has or doesn't have a slot for memory card and if so, where it is hidden? Thank you!

    Hello

The HP Officejet Pro 6968 doesn't offer any memory card or USB Host, Best Buy specifications are wrong.

You can find its official specs below:

    http://store.HP.com/us/en/PDP/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-6968-all-in-one-printer

The HP Officejet Pro 6970 series offers a USB plug, but no memory card reader is available for that too (see the section called connectivity, standard):

    http://store.HP.com/UKStore/merch/product.aspx?ID=T0F33A & opt = Abu & salt = PRN

Some current HP printers offer the USB plug, no current HP printer offers a memory card reader

  • Memory HP OfficeJet 5510

    Hi people,

Anyone know how much memory is in an OfficeJet 5510? If this is not the case, can you please tell me how to find out? I can't find the answer in * any * sheets I've read.

    Thank you!

    James

Printers inkjet printers of page size, their memory should never be a problem.  The computer makes the print job and sends it, basically broke by broke, down to the printer for direct printing.  There is a bit of a buffer in the printer, but when it fills up, the computer keeps just the info print, so that frees it from the buffer.

  • erase memory on HP officejet 8500 has more

I intend to give my HP officejet 8500 has more and I was wondering about the erasure of memory.  The specs say it has 128 MB of memory and I wonder if something might be stored in which could be sensitive information against things that I copied or printed.  How this memory can be erased?  I've not found anything by Google it

    Hello

Please try the following - sorry, it's not English:

In short: If you look carefully at the screen of the printer, you can see the 'RETURN' key, although it was not lit. Press 4 times. This should open menu supported...

  • Officejet J5780: Erasing memory Officejet

My Officejet J5780 is end of life, and I want to recycle. But I fear that his memory may keep some personal information. The model memory specs are: 8 MB ROM, 32 MB of DDR memory. What is the best way to make sure that the memory is erased completely clean? Y at - it an internal hard drive or memory card that must be eliminated physically?

    Hey @Bosco24,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

  • How to download pictures from a memory card to the computer on the new Officejet 8500 has more?

I recently replaced an old printer HP psc 2410 photosmart with a new Officejet Pro 8500 has more printer.  The installation went fine without error messages, and it will print, scan and copy very well.  When I insert a memory card into the slot, the printer itself recognizes files and displays them on the LCD screen and offers to print.  BUT... what I want to do is to download the files on my PC (Windows XP), and I can't understand how do!  There is no program of HP that appears and offers to transfer the photos as with my old printer.   I also expected to see the map locations shown as a removable disk, as I did with my old printer, but I don't see them.  In addition, my Photoshop Elements program does not recognize the card slots to be.

Then it dawned on me that my computer 'sees' map locations because it is not connected directly to the printer!  I created this as a wireless printer and I am totally new to this, so sorry if this is a stupid question... but there no way to transfer files from the PC card slot in a wireless configuration?  I'm totally confused...

    Hello

If your printer is connected to the network or wireless network, you must access it through the IP address.

Find the IP address of the printer. You can do this by clicking on the network icon on the front panel of your printer.

Open Windows explore and type \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip address of the printer.

You will see the memory card slot there.

You can do a "map network drive" to it if you want your printer card slot to be registered permanently.

  • All-in-one HP OfficeJet Pro L7680: it has an internal memory?

Same question as the last message for a printer differnet model (sorry for what may seem like a question in double - I'm trying just to be sure that I don't cause me a headache later).

I have a printer HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 all-in-One (FAX, Scan, Print, Photo) I would like to get rid of him.  Before disposing of it, and for reasons of security, I would like to know if there is an internal hard drive that could potentially be storing all I can have copied, scanned or faxed.

Hello sixmil5and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have concerns about the internal memory of the printers.  Memory is automatically reset when the printer is disconnected, so you have no problem with personal information being recorded.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums and please let me know if you have any other questions.
