OfficeJet j6450

Could someone tell me what copy, scan, print and fax features are available with this printer wireless. Can you send a fax from the computer to the wireless printer?

I discovered that my computer and the printer connected with a usb cable I can send a fax in this way.

Problem solved, printer in sealed box upwards and ready to go back to the store tomorrow for a refund

    Hello musicmom,

Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand your concerns with your Officejet J6450. Let's try some troubleshooting for this problem:

Make sure that the printer is connected to a live wall, not a surge protector. This step is required because HP recommends this step, and it could potentially solve your problem.

Then, try the printer reset. Instead, leave the power cord of the printer for more than 60 seconds.

I would like to know how your progress.

  • OfficeJet J6450 does not print shades of gray or black

I have an Officejet J6450 all-in-one, and I'm on Mac OS 10.5.8 on PowerPC Mac. I have some problems, and I didn't know the answers elsewhere.

    1. the printer seems to "mix" the colors of the color cartridge to create black instead of use of the balck cartridge ink black. A color XL cartridge lasts barely more than one, even if I do small specific color printing. Almost all my impression is based on text, however, I print interent pages here and there. In these cases, same black text prints "colored." How can I ensure that the printer selects the black cartridge to print in black?

    2. I need to print the slides for the school. I got the impression of the 'gifts' and select 'black and white '. Despite this, the printer tries to make black the color cartridge and I often find myself with green or red prints. Not fatal, but it totally wastes my color cartridge. I tried naming the color of the text in the slides as 'black' instead of 'automatic', but this did not help. Yet once, how can I make sure that the printer uses black?

    3. should I have an installed working color cartridge to print in black? I can't install 2 black cartridges?

Any suggestions are welcome. I can't believe how much ink the printer consumes. What a waste - not only my money, but for the environment. Time shop for something more effective and practical. I feel bad, even a gift this eater of ink to charity.

    THANK YOU in advance!

Thank you!! I know I have enough cheap paper, but I think the selection of paper made the rounds. At least in PowerPoint. I printed that one page, but it seems dark enough for me. I'll write again if several pages do not work.

How can I get the B & w Web to print pages?

In addition, no idea if I use TWO black cartridges?

  • drivers installation for OfficeJet J6450 on Windows 7 (64) and the software doesn't detect USB connection

I install the drivers for OfficeJet J6450 on Windows 7 (64) and installation software doesn't detect USB connection.  I recently had to upgrade Windows 7 in Place.  The printer was working fine before the upgrade.

    Hi shconner,

Looks like you need to uninstall what is already installed. Restart the computer and use the software features on the Web site to reinstall the printer.

  • OfficeJet J6450 - printer connects wireless but does not print job cable modem replacement

Material: My printer is an OfficeJet J6450. I am running Windows Vista, current update.

Probably triggering the event: I replaced my modem docsis 3.0 with a doscis 2.0 modem. PSI has remained the same. All other software and firewall remained the same.

Dysfunction: After the replacement of cable modem, I found that I could print is no longer in my HP OfficeJet 6450. I would get an error in the printer window ' error - print. "  After the reboot after the publication of the initial error, I would get the error "error - sent to the printer.

    What I did:

As a first step, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software for the printer (complete package with exception of PhotoSmart and HP customer monitoring program).

Use the connection for the network printer wizard, I entered the router password wireless to the printer. At first I don't have a connection. Then I rebooted the computer and the printer. I also returned to the default setting of network on the printer and repeated the configuration of the network. The connection was finally successful.

The automatic test of the network page and the network printer wizard confirms the connection. Digital display of the printer and the HP diagnostic utility has also confirmed the connection. But the diagnostic utility is unable to print a test page and throw an error - "Print Test failed.

The result disappointing:  I still can't anything to print wireless.

  • OfficeJet J6450 All in One printer cartridge wrong cartridge, but it is not

I have an Officejet J6450 All in One Printer.  I only use the new HP cartridges (not renovated, manual not refilling).  I installed a 74XL into the printer about a month with expiration of 02/11/2014.  It is still more than 1/2 full and very well printed yesterday.  Today, without apparent reason, the printer is saying that the ink cartridge is not supported by my printer... it is evil.  I tried a reset (3 and the # and when it does not 6 and the #) unplug him and by plugging it in.  I also removed the cartridge and tried both resets and then put it back in and still got the same error message.    I cleaned the print heads with a coffee filter and distilled water and tried the reset with unplugging and plugging back.  That didn't fix it.  Also, I deleted all of the permits from the hard drive and reinstalled the drivers and all updates (which I am automatically in any case, if the printer was already updated yesterday).  That didn't fix it.  I have tried everything and can't get this stupid to work printer.  I spent hours and hours on this.  I put in a new cartridge and it seems to work now, but I don't want to lose more than 1/2 full cartridge with no recourse.  I am a mother of 6 and the ink is very, very expensive, and what happens if this happens again?  Someone at - it ideas?  Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the cartridge has failed, because its guarantee until 2014 I would contact HP telephone support. Can you please let us know how you get on?
    Thank you

  • HP OfficeJet J6450 goes Offline

A couple of months my OfficeJet J6450 started going offline a lot.

I have a Dell Windows 7 laptop, and my wife has a Mac.  It does the same thing for us two.

So I took the new Mac out of the picture, and he always does on my Windows 7 PC.

I can print to it, but to come back a few hours later and my print job is in the queue, but the queue is offline.

I have you unplug and plug the printer back in, and then everything works fine... For while.

When it says offline, I can still go to the web page of administration for it.

It's funny it says offline, but I can still reach it with the administration tool.

    Also, I can still scan/copy/fax.

    Don't just print.

    I tried:

Uninstall the software completely and reinstall a couple of times.

Both the software supplied with the printer and that Windows finds.

    Wireless and wired.

Booking the ip address on my router. (But this doesn't seem to be the problem for the administration tool and Scan connects to him, even when the print queue says offline).

HP Print and Scan Doctor 4.1

  • HP Officejet J6450 (Windows 7 64-bit) - page Test prints and everything is paper jam

    All,

My Officejet J6450(All in one) was working fine and all of a sudden started showing paper jam. In fact, there is no paper jam, and the "Print Test page" print just fine. If you try to print something other than "print a test page", I hear the sound of rolling paper, the print head moves to print, then a pause and here is the error msg 'Paper jam' tried all the utilities and power off / on etc, but always the same result.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Hello

Thanks for your reply and I solve the problem last night.

The problem was updated spooler settings the: sort options changed to "print directly to the printer" and disabled the queue. I changed it to winding and everything works fine now.

    Thank you again...

  • Unable to connect my laptop XP Prof on printer Officejet J6450 AIO usb (in network)

Due to some problems of scanning, I have reinstalled my AIO on my USB port of office instead of the old Dell (Windows 7-64) ethernet link. However, I'm unable to connect from my laptop with XP Pro. I downloaded and installed the latest version of the software of full J6450 and can do a test print, but cannot access the printer through the center of Solution, that's why the scanner and other features are not available from the laptop. Also, is anyone know hence the hp software file is extracted to so I can re - run the Setup file?

The IOA has a w/l button, so I'll try an instalation w/l on the laptop.

    Hello Tracer_C

Thanks for responding. The error was 'the scan cannot be performed because another program or computer uses... ". "The w/l installation was successful, after that several unsuccessful attempts. (I accept the blame for it). After 2 or 3 tries, I noticed the obligation to connect the printer to the USB port of the laptop to install the drivers. Apres_que the drivers have been installed the software it reset the network, and it does not connect until I plugged in the printer on the desktop).

I thought I could do a no-w/l installation, but it is just as well, because I don't often print the laptop anyway, so I can keep the w/l off on the router function until I need to print from the laptop.

I found the installation for Xp folder: C:\Documens and Settings\Temp\7Z***.tmp\Setup.exe Settings\nom of utilisateur\Local.

  • OfficeJet J6450: No ink coming out

    Hello

I hope that this printer, which has not been used over the years, still works. The fax jobs. And the scanner works. But when I try to print, not even the slightest blot of ink it will make on the page. The printer will be in the page and looks like going back printing of text, but every time makes none that this either ink comes on the page. The printer says I have low ink black and white, but a full color ink cartridge. (I have taken the cartridges out and put back them in, and every time he reads the same levels of ink.) It seems that there is ink in the cartridges, but, again, no ink, b & w or color, comes out.

My question is: is there a chance that this printer will always print? I don't want to have to pay the heavy load of ink cartridges if it won't. Yet once, this printer has not been used over the years, so perhaps the ink cartridges have dried up or reached their expiry date? If anyone thinks that I still have a chance of getting this impression of thing, let me know. Thank you!

    Hi kilg,.

I think that there is a high liklihood that the printer works again.  You may need to replace the ink cartridges.

There is an ink cartridge, cleaning of the routines you can do as described in this document.

Since the fax and the digitisation of works and the printer moves the page through as if it is printing - it seems that the mechanism is very good.

Used in this printer ink cartridges have ink tank and the printhead built into the cartridge.  So when you replace it - it is brand new.

You want to evaluate the price of the new cartridges compared to a new printer that will come with ink and a warranty.  I can't guarantee that the printer will work - so there is a risk.

I wish you the best to do this work - or the picking of a new printer.

Let me know if I can provide any additional information.

HP Support Assistant download PDF Complete (Softpaq SP65581) to a laptop (Elitebook) but not this Folio.  Where can I find the software package to download manually on this machine?  It's a great alternative to save the files without using paper.

  • My Office Jet J6450 scanning

When I scan documents in my computer of my Officejet J6450, I find myself with large files.  For example, a declaration of eleven pages ends up being more than 15 megabits in size.  Is there a better program that reduces the size of these monsters?

You can reduce the resolution and when you scan, the scanner as an image (JPEG) instead of PDF. Note that this will be a reduced quality, it can't be bad, but it will be not the best.
