OfficeJet Pro 8500: no option to tray 2 in Windows 8

We have a printer HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910n with the latest firmware. People in the office running Windows Vista and Windows 7 set the default printer for "Tray 2" because that's where we put scrap paper (that is, document that has already been printed on one side.) For official documents they temporarily replace the parameter draw Tray 1, which contains unused paper.

Recently, we have added two laptops with Windows 8, which uses the driver "in the BONE" provided by Microsoft. Users see only two options for the selection of the status bar: "Automatic" and "tray 1". There is no tray 2 option.

Issues related to the:

1. other members foum using Windows 8 May the options they see for paper tray on a printer that uses the driver "in the BONE" Windows 8? (In fact, can someone confirm that this is a problem?)

2. If it is a question, is there a solution?

3. If there is no solution, can I file a bug with HP or Microsoft report?

To answer your questions:

1. I have not access to Win8 so I can't confirm anything for you in this area.  It seems that the default driver does not recognize the features of your printer.

2. download and install the Win8 http://support.hp.com Print and Scan drivers
3. If there is a bug, you should contact HP HP. is responsible for the drivers installed on the operating system and online.  If a change must be made no matter where HP is the only responsible party that would be able to.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910 will not scan to folder - Windows 8 Pro

I upgraded my HP M9500Y PC from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro.

My printer is HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910.  In Windows 7, all the functions of print/scan/fax worked perfectly.

Windows 8, printing without problem, however, analysis of the file function fails.

When a document is scanned, the printer seems to be analysis correctly, but the destination folder contains a file of length zero with the new file name.  I tried the formats PDF and JPEG scans.  All attempts to produce files of length zero in the destination folder.

I tried to change the path of the destination folder by replacing the address IP for the name of the PC, but that made no difference.  The destination folder is shared correctly on the Windows network and the configuration utility based on the web of HP for the digitization of records indicates that all tests have passed.

What is the sequence of installation for Windows 8 will accept scan-to-folder operations.

  • must my HP Officejet Pro 8500 first select correct tray based on the size of the documents

The Prime Minister has 8500, two bins for paper, one for 8.5 x 11 and the default tray handles 8.5 x 14.

I need to change the printer settings to get it to use the correct paper tray whenever I want to use 8.5 x 14.

There is a configuration that allows the printer to select the correct tray according to the size of the document sent to the printer?

OK, unfortunately the printer will do that automatically. However, if you go into your printing preferences, you can configure a print shortcut that makes switching back MUCH easier. If you need help on how to do that let me know.

    I hope this helps!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a, 2 1/2 years. Windows XP sp3. White vertical stripes

Vertical white middle band images of scanned documents. It was working fine an hour ago.

It seems that it is a hardware problem. I was initially hoping that the problem was with the ADF (the most common probably that I saw normally when paper or foreign objects are blocking the bulb scanner), but because it is not with the ADF, but with the flat bed scanner, it seems that the bulb is out or a Ribbon under the glass does not block the light to do what it is designed to do.

What I would say, is to call our technical support at the 800-474-6836, they have delivery options for you on similar newer printers that are re-certified HP products at a discount rate.

WARNING: do not try to take the glass on the unit to change the bulb or move all cables, when the printers are assembled they are in an extremely clean environment (for example, an operating room) to prevent dust from getting inside the printer and cause problems.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 first stopped scanning

My Officejet Pro 8500 has stopped scanning.  The message window says it is not connected to the network.

I changed my DSL provided by the local cable company to ATT U verse a few months ago, but the problem does not seem to be related to this change.  I say this because when I ran the diagnostics, the printed page says that my problem is "the wireless radio does not work. Contact HP support. »

HP support offered advice tech for $29) warranty, or sell me a new all-in-one.

The wireless radio can be fixed? Is it a software problem.  I have to buy a new all-in-one?

    Hello JessicaD,

I see that you have a problem with the wireless radio fails on your Officejet 8500. To inform you in this regard, if the radio has failed, it is not a replaceable part by customer, but I'll try to help you with the problem.

Start as a result of this document: printer does not maintain the wireless connection.
With this document, I would like to track:
    (1) restore your default settings of network on the printer.
Go to setup (can be a wrench), network, and then restore the default settings of the network. After that the power on the printer.

    (2) turn off the wireless radio.
Go to Configuration > network > wireless radio, you must have the option to turn it off.

    (3) hard reset of the printer.
While the printer power cable for 30 seconds, while the cable is unplugged, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. It's draining the printer of all power. Reconnect the cable.

    (4) turn on the wireless radio and reconnect.
Go to Configuration > network > wireless radio - on. Then, go to Configuration > network > wireless are running the configuration wizard.

If it was not successful in entering you connected to the network and or print wireless. You still have another option with the printer to try before replacing.
If you have an Ethernet cable, you can set a wired network connection. Plug the Ethernet (cat5 cable) cable into the printer and the router. It will be assigned the printer a new IP, which means that you will need to add the printer to the computer. This will still allow the printer on the network and communicate with a wireless device.

Please try all above and I would like to know how everything goes. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Network scanning multi-page Officejet Pro 8500 a w/o ADF (Vista and HP Print software)

Without using the ADF on the 8500 has, can I scan multiple pages in a PDF file if the scans are done from the PC? How?

My version of Vista is 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002.

My HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer - A910a is the standard model, for example, the premium product of mid-range. It is connected by LAN cable. It scans, prints and can provide the status of ink level.

The 8500 is connected via the network, and on a Vista PC, I use a desktop icon to launch "HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910.exe". The new software is very different from the [Photosmart c6150 dead] [uninstalled] old HP Solution Center, and I looked in the new textbooks at least briefly, so I hope someone can same thing me some time with a basic question/issues scan. My research forum has failed, but if someone has a link to a relevant thread, that would be appreciated.

Without using the ADF on the 8500 has, can I scan multiple pages in a PDF file if the scans are done from the PC? How?

I also tried scanning browser based and there is a drop down for sweeping on both sides, but the drop down menu is not activated and cannot be used.

I only went through the configuration of the network folder, which may be necessary to get the ability I want. On this subject, I wonder if I set up a folder for all users, or just for my login.

    Thanks for any help!

    Success?

Well, I created a folder network and was then able to scan to a PDF file of several page without using the ADF (ADF) documents.  To do this, (1) install the software provided with the Officeject Pro 8500 has, (2) the installation program a network folderand (3) run the scan of the touch screen located on the Officejet Pro 8500 has.

    (1) install the software supplied on CD (or probably downloaded from somewhere near here). You may be able to work with only the web browser interface, but I wasn't before install the software provided on the CD, and I suspect that some software is required on the PC.

Install the downloaded software or the software provided on the CD-ROM titled

    HP OFFICEJET PRO 8500

    A910

    (2) Setup a network folder. The installation of the software created a few new icons on my Vista PC.  Double-click the icon of the desktop titled "HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910". On my Vista PC, it runs,

    "C:\Program HP HP Officejet Pro 8500 Officejet Pro 8500 A910.exe A910\Bin\HP"

An application window should appear. Mine has a title, "HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 (network).

The application window has a section of Scanner Applications on the left. From there, the scanner to the network folder Wizard. Which can be done by double clicking on the 'scan to network folder Wizard"or by the first double clicking on"Scanner Actions"and on the screen that appears, click on"Scan to network folder Wizard.  Otherwise, you can get this done through the web browser, if you know the URL for your device's built-in web server. Because I use my DHCP router (to allocate IP addresses in my local network), I currently access the 8500 a of http://192.168.1.19/. From there on, I can access the Scan tab, and I can access the ability to "Setting up the network folder" on the left.

Using the scan to network folder Wizard, I clicked on New and used the Browse button to select "C:\Users\Gordon\Documents\My Scans" to set up a folder named "Gandalf Gordon". The next page of the wizard, it will take your network password (or local password if he is counting on the local PC) required to access the PC where the path "C:\". "sailed above is located. When I clicked on finish, the wizard opens a web browser which indicated a certificate error. I chose to continue to the site, which turns out to be the web server integrated in the 8500 has. So now you know a URL where your built-in web server on your network if you were already uncertain. If you do this URL a favorite browser, the favorite should work even if the IP address of the 8500 a is changed in the future.

Display (3) initiated a sweep of the touchscreen located on the Officejet Pro 8500 a. tap the icon "Scan." Tap the 'network '. Select the network folder. Place a page to scan on the glass of the scanner without using the automatic document feeder. Press 'Start Scan '. When the touch screen prompts, "Page another Scan", select 'Yes', place another page on the scanner glass and click, 'Start scan '. When the last page is analyzed, answer 'No' to the prompt "scan another Page.

Note: When loading pages additional manually, you have to work a little faster or unit will then expire and close the file with as many pages that you managed to scan. I did three pages as a test.

  • HP Solution Center is no longer installed for OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909

    Hi all

I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909 running on a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).

I can't pinpont when the problem started, but I think it's after a Windows Update.

For some reason any printer stopped working all together. I downloaded the drivers for the device (OJP8500vA909_Basic_14) and installed them. The printer works now, but the HP Solution Center is no longer on my computer.

The installation disc for the printer will not work. He said that "the operating system on this computer is not supported. The installation cannot continue until this is resolved. "I guess it's because the computer is much newer than the printer, but I'm not sure.

Can someone help me install the HP solution on my computer center?

    Thank you!

    Hello!

You can download the software from our Web site. The software that contains the center of solution would be the full feature software and driver.

Uninstall the base driver that you have installed and install the drivers you want to download.

    Thank you.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a909g - print from somewhere outside Tray 1

    Hello

I am a consultant and one of my clients has this printer.  He has a paper tray, 250 sheets.  There's also the feeder on the top where you can feed the things to scan or copy.

When he wants to print checks or envelopes, to remove the tray, take the paper and put in controls.

Is it possible to print these one other way or you have buy the 2nd tray accessory?

    Thank you

    Hey texaspete,.

The automatic document feeder on top of the Officejet Pro 8500 A909g can only be used for scanning/copying.  The mechanism for the loader doesn't have a printhead to be able to produce printed documents.

However, there is the possibility of obtaining a 2nd paper for the Officejet Pro 8500 tray.  HP no longer produces the paper tray, but there are 3 third-party suppliers who still carry the part.

    * The part number for the option 2 tray (tray of 250 sheets) is CB802a.

Try Google search for this product number and you will find many options of different companies.  I hope this helps.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910: printer duplex option forget

I have the duplex unit installed and that you have used successfully for some time.   Are some time I tried to print double-sided, but the option was not in the print window.  I went into the options of the printer and found that the duplex was not checked.  I checked and was able to print two-sided without problem.

Some time later I tried again to duplex, and again once the option wasn't there.  I can reset the option, but very shortly after the OS 'forgets' setting.  Basically, I have to do every time I want to duplex.

This was not always a problem.  It worked fine until a couple of months ago (and Mac OS updates several there).  I have two Macs connected over wi - fi for this printer and Mac have the problem.

    Hey @alhurley,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you have a few options with the option of double-sided printing associated to your Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One printer on your computer Mac OSX 10.11. I can help you with that.

Here's how we should be able to fix this:

    1. Disconnect the USB cable if it is connected.
    2. Click your Apple system and print and Scan preferences icon.
    3. Hold down the command key and click the icon of your printer on the left.
    4. Click on reset printing system.
    5. Restart your Mac.

Now connect the USB cable again if you removed previously. Otherwise:

    1. Go to the Apple preferences system, print, and Scan.
    2. Press the button "+" in the lower left corner.
    3. Select your printer from the list.
    4. In the box next to click on Airprint and select your printer from the list.
    5. Click on Add.

One last thing to do now is click on Apple, updates of the system and all the necessary updates.

This should fix the duplex printing option. If not then the next step would be to contact Apple as there is something weird is happening with your operating system.

Please let me know if this solves your problem or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great week!

  • HP Officejet PRO 8610: No Option "form to tray assignments.

    Hey,.

I just installed a HP Officejet PRO 8610 with accessory extra tray 2 (A8Z70A) on a 64-bit windows 8.1 computer. The printer is connected. What I'm asking, it's for my users to be able to send legal documents of sizes to the printer and have it automatically pull from the appropriate paper tray. In my case tray 2.

My problem is that I don't see the "Form to tray Assignments" option on the tab settings of the device that would allow me to set what size of paper the printer would shoot a paper size given, tray 1 or the tiroir2. Grateful for any help.

    I already tried some things:

Using drivers from the CD provided, as well as on the site of HP

The upgrade of the firmware (it was already up to date)

    Installation on windows 7

That's what I see now. The picture at the bottom is the setting for my HP Officejet 8100, which shows what I would see on my page of 8610 settings is to say "forms to tray assignment" options.

Here my HP 8100 settings show clearly how can I assign sizes page for each tray.

    Hey @Sharltonagain!

Thanks for getting back to me!

There is another work around that can help!

You should be able to add the printer twice through the window devices and printers.  You can name a 8610_tray1 and the other 8610_tray2.

    Once the printers are named:

    1. Right-click on 8610_tray1
    2. Go to the printer properties
    3. Click on the Advanced tab in the upper part of the window
    4. Click on "Default printer"
    5. Click the paper/quality tab
    6. Change the paper source for the Tray1
    7. Change the media to the desired media
    8. Click apply/OK
    1. Right-click on 8610_tray2
    2. Go to the printer properties
    3. Click on the Advanced tab in the upper part of the window
    4. Click on "Default printer"
    5. Click the paper/quality tab
    6. Change the source of paper in tray 2
    7. Change the media to the desired media
    8. Click apply/OK

Now the printers is added twice with the default settings for each.  Now when you print, you can choose the name of the printer that you want, and it will print these parameters.

Let me know if it works out and sorry but I don't know if they do an update or not.
