OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: PC stopped communicating with wireless Officejet Pro 8600 more

My HP printer has been connected to my PC via my home wireless network and work without problem, for 18 months.  A few weeks ago the printer stop appearing in the printer dialog box when I went to print a document.  The printer continues to operate wireless for all my mobile devices without problem.

I went through all the HP process and tools for troubleshooting, downloaded and installed all updates, nothing helps.  I uninstalled my PC off and now it will not reinstall.  The installation process see the printer on the network, but when I try to install it it said "cannot be installed on the network" and it goes no further. I lost hours and hours trying to get to the bottom of it, nothing helps.

What is the problem?

Hi @Layli,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that your PC has stopped communicating with your HP Officejet Pro 8600 wireless connection more. I'm sorry to hear that, but happy to help!

Out of curiosity, what happens if you install the printer using the USB method wireless configuration? Check out this guide, your wireless printerand select Configuration USB wireless.

Also, if this does not work, able to install the printer are you using a USB connection? In this way, we can see if the problem could be the connection itself or not.

You see error messages on the control panel of the printer at all?

Thanks for posting and hope to hear from you soon!

My computor Asus seems to have stopped communicating with my HP printer / scanner today, when I run convenience store he tell me the printer is offline. We changed anything. He has worked in the last two years very well.

    Hello

What is the model number of the HP printer?

You can try the following and see if they help.

Method 1: Try to set the printer online.

    a. open the start menu and click on the "devices and printers". This will open a window with a list of the printers currently installed on your computer. Right-click on the printer and select "Use printer online".

    b. clear all print jobs. Double-click on the printer, then go to the Menu "printer" and select "Cancel all Documents." It could be a stuck print job that would cause the printer go offline. Try once more to put the printer online and try to print a test page.

    c. turn the printer off and then on again. Check if the printer is blocked. Check all the network connections to make sure that none are loose.

We have an Officejet Pro 8600 B74234 ceased to communciating with all our devices after its driver was updated. We use all Macs.

The network connection is fine - I've tested and even reset it.

  • My brother mfc290c stopped communicating with my computer printer.

I could never get that ability to fax printers implemented when I tried I got error message missing fxscfgwz.dll. What is the best way to find & install this file. Also any ideas on why I can't download the original cd installing printer brother mfc290c on my 1st computer? Help!

    Debbe,

Please see comments from Ian Pugh and then stand out the answer of the "support engineer" as a 'response' - is not the solution to your problems.

You seem to have a number of problems, but you have not provided all the information to diagnose them.  Please describe what is happening when you try to install the printer. Be as detailed as possible. If you receive error messages, enter them completely, without paraphrasing.

That said the brother tech was wrong with your computer?  Usually, a technical support uses this kind of pointing the finger when they do not understand the problem.

You say that you have installed the printer on another computer.  What version of Windows is installed on this computer?  What computer do you intend to keep the connected printer?  Do you intend to share the printer on a local network?

Please, do the following in order to provide some basic information about your Dell 2400:

    • Click Start, then click Run, and then type msinfo32.exe in the "Open" box and click OK
    • After filled the system information window, click Edit > select all, then click on edit > copy
    • Then paste it (CTRL + V), the copied data in your response here

What were you doing when you received the error message about fxscfgwz.dll?  Normally, this error can occur when you try to install Windows XP Fax Services - but you should not be done for a device like your brother MFC290c.  Only install you Windows XP Fax Services when you use a fax modem - and your MFC290c is a stand-alone fax machine, not a fax modem.  Part of the software included on the Brother CD-ROM allows you to send faxes from your computer, but it's totally separate from Windows XP Fax Services (I guess it is possible that Brother PC - Fax using some of the files that are normally used by Fax of XP, which is why I asked what you were doing when the error occurred; normally when a third-party software using a Windows file (the file is included in the installation of software package, even if it is 'supposed to be' already available on the computer).

It finally worked. If there was a fake "Firefox unresponsive message." I was (not) moving pretty fast so the "not responding" message went away and things started working.

  • My HPC5180 stopped communicating with my computer. A ran scan Dr. façade prob. cannot fix

The scan doctor told me to run the hp Solution Center to enter and solves the problem of the façade as I cannot scan from the front panel more. I uninstalled and reinstalled x 3. Why can't sweep fix Dr. prob frontpanel on its own?

If you receive a message about scanning parameters are not set or there is no analysis Options, there is a document showing a information how to re - activate the shortcuts to scan on the front panel of the printer. This document can be found here.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need additional information.

    SN: [personal information]

Then try to connect to the router wireless (active DHCP), the printer LCD display starts to blink and a second, it displays B845D7DC.

After that, the printer asks to reset and it restarts with wireless off.

I have a cable modem with router wireless of my cable TV UPC provider called UPC Ubee EVW3226.

I tried to connect the printer to the router using the WPS button and provide the password. In both cases, I have the same behavior.

I have a dozen other wireless home devices that connect without problem to the router. But not the printer.

Please let me know what other information will be good for you to solve the problem. Or, please provide a workaround solution.

    I found the solution:

connect to your printer cable (you can use a direct eth between your computer and your printer cable), access the web interface and disable support IPv6 (let the IPv4 only verified): network > General > protocols > only IPv4 verified. Save and restart the printer.

In 80% of cases, it will work on the wireless connection. For the other 20% when it does not work, try to assign a static IP address to your printer (network > Wireless > IPv4) in a second time. Take data from your router (IP, gateway, DNS).
