OfficeJet Pro 8610: Failure to scan in Officejet Pro8610
When I try to use the scanner I get a meassage saying "Sanner failure: unable to scan, copy or send a fax. The unit is connected to a wifi network and I can print fine from my computer or smart phone, but no ability to analyze, it worked without problem.

It seems to be a problem with scan transport which does not caliberated.
Try to connect the printer to a different wall outlet (for testing purposes only). Also ensure that the printer must not be connected through extension / surge protector.
If the problem persists, the printer need to be REPAIRED.

The original format letter, it will scan format letter through ADF so my suggestion:
b analyze then, letter size
(b) printing on legal size. After that
(c) analyse the legal size.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8610: 1200 dpi, scanning with HP 8610?
This printer is advertised as being able to scan at resolutions that can reach 1200 dpi, but the software scanning HP never shows the options over 300 dpi. How to make higher resolution analysis?

Well well after literally hours of Googling being impossible to find anything at all on this unit or any other site, a friend suggested that I open the area to set up scanner on Mac itself... and to my amazement after a little digging here, I was able to find the settings for the CIO and the file type save high-resolution BMP images.
Why hell HP do not display anything in their pages help or on the LCD of the printer to indicate how do, I'm not sure. I'll be happy to send a screenshot to anyone who needs this info. -

You can enlarge copies during the process, but not not for scanning. Normally, you should do this by enlarging scanned files (jpg). Just many software (including free ones) photo editor and your computer must have at least one.

HP Officejet Pro 8610: HP Officejet Pro 8610 won't scan in color via the charger on a MAC
I have a lot of documents that I need scanned in color using the charger and I don't know where the parameter must use the scan black and white to color. Help, please. I am a mobile notary and there are ready docs that I must return to the lender.
I can print and copy in color very well and I can scan in color using the flat bed but not the charger.

I see that you are having problems when scanning using the document feeder. Have you tried to do a scan using the HP Easy Scan application? HP Easy Scan is a free app on the App Store with tools to scan documents and photos to a Mac running OS X 10.9 or later version.
Please go to http://hp.care/2d75fhX to get detailed instructions to scan and also to change the settings, including the color settings. If you don't have the application, you can also download and install the application from the same link.
These measures should be the case, I would like to know the results

Failure to scan on a brand-new 8620 OfficeJet Pro

I have a brand new 8620 Officejet Pro and use OS X v10.9 & use a laptop wireless and desktop via USB.
On both final set-up print without any problem at all but when I try to copy, scan or something by fax printers touch screen comes up with "Scanner failure - cannot copy, scan, or use the fax". As a result, if I open the HP utility it says "device status: scan unknown error".
I've uninstalled and reinstalled all software printer 4 times - twice by using the internet and twice using set up disk & each time the same result as above.
I used the online help guide and followed all the solutions, but all without success.
Anyone can offer any additional help please or is their real fault with it & the printer needs to be replaced

First of all, you need to install the software for your printer. You can download the software from this link, be sure to select the correct operating system and the "Download COMPLETE".
Once installed, you can start using the Scan software.
There is a Scan shortcut that allows you to 'Save as PDF '. This will scan all your documents in a single file.

I saw on YouTube there is a possibility to configure settings on app scan to detect the sizes photo placed on the glass and also scan several photos. I can't find these settings when I open my scanning application
Note: downloaded the web driver and have not installed the disk due to the lack of hard drive on my MacBook Pro.

Set up: Officejet Pro 8610 connected wireless for HP laptop Windows 10.
Mission: I have 10 A4 sheets with stuff on both sides. I want to scan every 20 faces and save them on my laptop in the right order.
I would like to do this automatically thought IE the automatic document feeder.
I use scan options HP Scan and Capture software in document settings
I select the source to be "heavy feeder" and duplex scan (if available) option I select '2 Facer.
Although this force the 8610 take the original since the ADF doc it's only one side.
That's the problem!
Also if I use the HP Officejet Pro HP printer Assistant, if I select the radio button for the front and back, once its done scanning side 1 of the document it asks me to take the originals and put them in the feeder to make the other side. The scans are then coming out in the wrong order!
I bought this printer so I could do it, but can't make it work. I want to cry. Help, please.

The HP Officejet Pro 8610 does not support scanning duplex automatic, that the more advanced of this series models supports a such (8620 & 8630 models)
You can find the printer specifications listed below:
Breeze through multipage documents with automatic two-sided scanning and the 50-page auto document feeder (for 8620/8630 only).

You can only perform this manually with your printer model, I suggest to use the HP scanning software.
If the analysis is delivered in the wrong order, try to install and use the HP extended Scan application and check differences:

I have an OfficeJet Pro 8610 and it prints and copies fine. I use a USB Port and the only choice I have for scanning are wireless and Ethernet. How to solve this problem?
I will try your suggestions and see if I can find a solution. Never dreamed I had a problem because it prints and copies fine. Just didn't need to scan until the other day.

I'm not able to activate the analysis of my desktop computer or my laptop. First of all, don't forget to run the software update as follows:
Click on the Apple icon, then select about this Mac.
Click software update, and then click the Store from the top of the indicated window menu and click on reload the Page.Don't forget to install any update HP or Apple.
Then install the HP Easy Scan from the Mac App Store application, it will be installed in the Applications folder:

All-in-one Officejet Pro 8610: 8610 Pro HP Printing Assistant has no Scan Options
Recently installed new software last 8610 and downloaded. Not install the option to order ink automatically.
The device uses the ATF feeder to reproduce documents, but did not during the scanning - it assumes that the document is on the glass, while feeder warning tones and the display Panel recognizes that a document is in the charger. I went to the computer and access to the HP printer Assistant by some other items, but see that I don't have any options for scanning under HP printer Assistant. I ran HP Update for this printer and it says my software is up to date.
What Miss me?

Thanks for the comments, it seems that, somehow, older drivers are in conflict with the 8610 causes the scan communication error.

This option existed. What has changed?
Deskjet 6980 driver is compatible with the Officejet Pro 8600 series (including the 8610) and provides the order of the pages, but also of the other missing features of the Officejet Pro driver 8610 including:
- Order of pages
- Resizing options, including the page scaling in percent or adjust.
- County of copy (with Assembly option)
- Image mirror (for printing T-Shirt transfer or stickers)
- Watermarks
- Tip of color (the color, Saturation and brightness, the individual sliders for CMYK tone)
- Overspray
- Drying time
The Deskjet 6980 driver can be installed as follows (the instructions are for Windows 7, other versions would be similar): file devices and printers, click with the right button on the Officejet 8600, select Advanced, new driver, Next, properties of the printer, Windows Update, wait a while for the page to refresh, and then select the driver HP Deskjet 6980 (HP), OK. It may be desirable to change the name back to Officejet Pro 8610: right click on the printer, the printer, the general properties, type the name of the desired printer, apply. While, it may be necessary to activate the duplexer: click the device settings tab, set the duplex unit installed, apply, OK.
Install another printer driver will have no effect on scanning applications.
