OfficeJet Pro X476dn reset password

The person who setup the printer is no longer in office and all functions are locked. Is there a way to reset the password? Even restoring factory option on the touch screen and EWS are "locked".

Is that a way to hardware reset the default printer?

Is there a secret factory default button somewhere?

Hello, have you tried the service menu by pressing the button back 4 times? I will take you to a service mode where you can do a reset partial or semi-complete. He called there menu resets and there you can find a reset factory setting. Although I don't know if you have tried this already.

I hope this helps...

    Hi all

I have an Officejet Pro x476dn MFP, which has an automatic paper feed paper jam. The paper is cleared, but the charger always record a jam. I followed the instructions on the printer and in the downloaded user manual from HP.com. I have also checked the sensor flag hangs freely and blew out with a can of airto feeder remove any accumulation of dust or particles of paper. I even half loaded a sheet of tissue paper on the larger particles that may stick. I also checked all other jam points have been cleared.

The exact error I get is "paper (title)... jam. The original is stuck in the autoloader of Document (CAD). ' Open the ADF cover, remove and reload the original and then try again.  This printer is less than a year and I come to you for more information before you contact HP. I still can not print, but can not scan or copy (cannot return to the home screen). If you need made more information let me know.

I lost a large part of the contents of a Mac 4 years when an electrical short burned inside in a way that Apple could not determine the cause. The end result is that I found that the administrative password for my 8600 died with the old Mac that I have been unable to recover the keychain that had all the information a password in it. I wish now that more importance was pointed out in the instructions when passwords have been set up, on the future need for them to use as many important features of the printer.

I would appreciate much all guidanc I can get in how to reset the administrative password of my 8600.

    Hi @Redwoc,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you are trying to reset the administrative password for your HP Officejet Pro 8600, and I'm happy to help you!

You can do a reset of the printer using the LED screen on the printer. Select Configuration, then Tools, then restore the default settings. "Restore default settings" is the last element of the list, and then you must scroll down to see it.

This clears all the settings of the printer, including the administrator password.

    I hope this helps!

  • Satellite Pro A120: Reset password disk HARD known through the BIOS

    Satellite Pro A120SE
HARD drive password is known - no problem.
According to Toshiba, the HARD drive password can be reset in the BIOS.

By following the instructions in the documentation, a new password is entered, but a 'beep' is returned and it is clear that the password has not been changed.
A support call was placed about 2 months there with the dealer who couldn't solve the problem. The dealer contacted Toshiba support helpdesk who told them that HARD drive password reset should be possible and they had no explanation or solution.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much

  • OfficeJet Pro x476dn: OfficeJet Pro X476dn MFP enter sleep or modes

    Hello:

I'm looking for a solution to the problem where my x476dn falls into one of his sleep 2 modes that makes it inaccessible to all unless someone Vienna wake first by touching the screen printers.

I have just listed as my Windows 7 operating system, but I also use Windows Vista, 10, Server 2003, Server 2008 R2, as well as Apple IOS 9.3.5 on the benefits of the iPad and iPhone (5, 6, 6 s +).

I run a network of IPv4 (all on the same subnet) flat wireless and wired devices. The ip address of the printer is static and when he is awake all devices can access and print. All appliances, including the printer have updated software current, patches, and drivers installed. On Apple devices, I have installed the recommended application HP HP AIO (all-in-One remote) which works very well as long as the printer is not asleep.

I have to find a way to disbable modes watches over this device and I'm hoping that someone has done this. Thank you

Please do not take into account the original qurestion. As no response was provided to the community of users or HP support, I had to find my own way around this problem that still exists today, but like I said I can get around it. My solution kills a stone 2 strokes. 1 is the HP disconnect and the 2nd is requirement of Apple that printers be located on the same WiFi network. For me is no longer a problem and I wish you all good luck!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: Reset HP 8620 FULL

I spent hours trying to fix this printer.  at this point, I want to just do a FULL reset of the printer (not only the factory settings) and start again, but I can't figure out how to do this.

    The problem I had with...

My printer connects to the network no problem, blue wireless connected lamp is turned on, internet connection, confirmed on-screen.  However, when I try to connect to the printer when installing wireless, it is not found.

I've set up via USB and tried to 'convert Wireless' using the installer, but that does not work either.

I have had this printer for several months.  It used to work very well, but then one day stopped working over wireless (no network changes, no hardware changes, no change of software... just out of the blue).  Now I am unable to find a solution.

I want to start all over again, new installation, etc, etc.  BUT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO DO A FULL/HARD RESET ON THIS PRINTER!

I am so frustrated with this thing.  I'm about to junking it and move to another brand, because it's ridiculous.

The printer works like magic again.  -_-

I wonder if, perhaps, he had something to do with my recent upgrade to Windows 10 - maybe a new Firewall setting or something like Microsoft 'fixed' in one of its latest updates.

Fortunately, I refrained from throwing out the window last week (I was discussing it seriously) the printer!

The printer requires any ink cartridge and once any cartridge is exhausted (Out of Ink) you can print is no longer and the cartridge needs to be replaced to resume printing.

    Hi all

I changed my network SSID & PW but I forgot the password for the printer web page.

Password was written in a notebook and notebook is moved at the moment by the cleaning person.

Please HELP! Is there anyway I can reset the printer so that the admin password is also re-set. I try to reinstall the software printers, also I am not able to change the ip address and right now, there is no ip address... get no link and no ip address and no network... I really want to THANK you ALL for READING THIS & YOUR TIME. So please help if you can...

    and ideas?

    Thank you, xxVEGASxx

    * xxVEGASxx *.

You can do a reset of the printer using the LED screen on the printer.

Select Configuration, then Tools, then restore the default settings. "Restore default settings" is the last element of the list and you will have to scroll down to see it.

Which erases all settings, including the password for the printer.

To reset you describe is probably the one mentioned in this article:

    http://resetprinters.com/how-to-reset-the-HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8600-premium-all-in-one-printer/

but it's probably a deeper reset that you really need anyway.

    Thanks for the support

I read people talking about pushing the book button and the button nine as they plug the unit back in... I'm confused because my 8500 has isn't ONE of these buttons, unless there is a hidden pannel I don't know.

My printer refuses to print any of the computers on the network. You turn off, turning on and maybe he'll print for a few minutes, maybe not.

I also left unplugged overnight and it was always the same questions. Today I did a software factory reset, then reconnected to the wireless network.

Any suggestions appreciated because I'm SUPER irritated with this device.
