Old software on Vista
I have Windows Vista Home Premium on my new laptop. How can I use my old software on it? I have PageMaker 7.0, 10.0 CorelDraw and Photoshop 6.0 on my old laptop XP has died. I can not load the Vista machine? I cannot afford to buy new software, but I would use it on the new machine. Help!
Hello
always check the compatibility of vista programs on the link below
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx
If a program is compatible with vista you can try right click on the setup.exe, and then selecting run as administrator
It is not compatible with vista, you can try running it in a previous operating system mode
This does not work for all programs
read the information below
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/
____________________________________________________________
and read this information MS, too
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-the-program-compatibility-Wizard
____________________________________________________________
If a program is particularly important to you, there is this way of trying
but it's expensive, because you must have a previous operating system license to install
This method also works in vista Home premium, BUT is not supported by microsoft

I want that my new laptop using windows 7 and vista.
My previous laptop with vista on broke and some of my software is not compatible with windows 7. I use therefore alternately operating two systems depending on what software I want to run. Am I allowed to use my old vista from my previous laptop series? or am I expected to buy yet another... on my 12 Windows version!
If your old installation of Vista was an OEM one, it cannot be moved to the new computer - if it was a copy of the retail, you are allowed to re - activate on the new computer.
If Vista was preinstalled on your old computer, it is licensed OEM, who died with the computer.

Re: Portege 500 Sync and Fingerprint Software on Vista
HI - have recently resolved the synchronization failure by removing the true Suite Access Manager (finger printing software). Vista invites you to reinstall the software when you restart, which I did download from the Toshiba... and we're back to the synchronization does not again.
All work through this issue? Any ideas?

After my gateway mD2614u (64 bit WHP) OS was wiped out by the virus and "projected blue" I installed my old disk of Vista Home Premium 32-bit (gateway) to try to recover the operating system to 64-bit in fact somehow, it works fine after installing the network drivers appropriate. Would it be possible to retrieve an original os status or should I simply buy the disk recovery, or just be it? I know that tmi!
# Migration from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows is OK but one backward migration is a problem because the 32-bit version of the installer cannot delete some items of 64-bit. It produces a mixed version where you have taste strange anomalies a folder programs (x 86) and a programs folder. Vista 32 bit shouldn't have a programs (x 86) folder. Only 64-bit Vista has that. He there's other, less obvious, issues. Although you can retrieve files from the Windows.old folder the BONE itself is not trustworthy. I tested the backward migration during the program Vista TechBeta and script scenarios has never supported by Microsoft Support after RTM due to 32-bit installation being unable to deal with the structure of the 64-bit system to remove.
You must order the 64 bits of the gateway recovery disks (if still available) or a third party such as Recovery - Disks.com.

remove old laptop windows vista and install on a new
I have a genuine license of windows vista family premium on my old laptop, I got the cd of vista with the old box to laptop dell, I got a new laptop with free back, I want to format my old laptop and sell and install windows vista on my new I read that once windows has been activated it is no longer usable on another computer unless it's an edition of retail and mine is OEM.
is it possible to remove the license filed the old laptop and save it to the new laptop? or is there something else I can do? or have one to sell the old laptop with vista cd?
Thank you Walter to be clear and try to help. I appreciate it. (I thought that my request was slightly different to the original post, so I stretched a hope).
So if my hard drive crashes, I also have to buy Windows again. How Microsoft get away with this _? There was none of this information at the point of sale.
Hey fingercuts
No to the last question
If your drive hard breaks down in the old compaq laptop from hp, you can contact hp compaq and get them to send you a set of vista recovery disks to reinstall vista on a new hard drive install you in the old laptop that you already purchased your license for this old laptop vista
they do normally for somewhere between 20-$40
and you are allowed to replace a hard drive of your machine and also to replace ram
I hope it clears up a little bit for you
also I wish you a great festive season
Merry Christmas

Cannot install software on vista.
Cannot install software on vista.
1st thing to do is to contact the manufacturer of the program.
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx
Windows Vista Compatibility Center
And check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/
If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all. This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.
If it's Vista compatible > uninstall it > Re-download/save to your desktop > right click on its Setup.exeo run as admin.
See you soon.

Y at - it a standard patch that I can download so I can run old software.
Y at - it a standard patch that I can download so I can run the old software. The software worked fine on Windows 7 until I upgraded to Windows 10. Disliked Windows 10 but when I tried to go back to Windows 7, had so many problems with the operating system to slate and reinstall Windows 7 with Microsoft technical assistance. Now I can install the old program, '"yourself Fitness' but the program does not open when I try to run it. Could not get the update of the company because they are more active. What can I do?
Pointer to point to the application configuration file or files, right-click on the Setup, and then click on the compatibility problems.
Follow the instructions on the screen, and then select a version of Windows, the software is known to work.
By using Compatibility Mode in Windows 8.1 | Releasing it's easy...
Reference instructions 8.1 Windows, but also work for Windows 7.

Try to get the old software to work on Windows 7
I am trying to run old software on my Windows 7 PC. It's a language program that was given to me recently. When I insert the disc and try to run the program I get the following error message. "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher. "Then I tried to run the program in compatibility mode with the two 95, 98, 2000 and Windows XP however whenever I test with one of these compatibilities nothing happens. Then once I have troubleshoot it tells me I have a question that is "Application Incompatible." Is there anything else I can try to get the program to work?
