OLE, VB, Camera Raw, Open, ExecuteAction, phEventOpen

I want to use Camera Raw in Photoshop to open a JPG image, VB6 code is as follows:
-------------------------------------------------
Dim pPhoto as PhotoshopApplication
Dim pAdesc As IActionDescriptor
Dim pCnl As IActionControl

Define pPhoto = New PhotoshopApplication
Set pPhoto.MakeControlObject = pCnl
Set pAdesc = pPhoto.MakeDescriptor

pAdesc.PutPath phKeyFile, "D:\Photo\030111-042.jpg".
pAdesc.PutClass phKeyAs, psCameraRAWOpen

pPhoto.ExecuteAction phEventOpen, pAdesc, phDialogDontDisplay
-------------------------------------------------
But it can not open the file correctly, how do I open the images from camera Raw JPG correct call?

PS: I need to call through the COM interface

I'm sorry, my English is not good

Sorry can't help with VB but with javaScript, it would be: -.

Example of Photoshop CS5.

var desc = new ActionDescriptor();
desc.putPath(charIDToTypeID('null'), File("/d/Photo/030111-042.jpg"));
desc.putBoolean(stringIDToTypeID('overrideOpen'), true);
executeAction(charIDToTypeID('Opn '), desc, DialogModes.ALL);

CamerRaw bridge settings must be set to "automatically open all JPEG files.

  • Why is camera raw opens with a blue screen?

I've just updated BridgeCC. CC of Lightroom and Photoshop CC and now camera raw opens on a blue and white X display.  I tried to update my graphics driver and that he did not set.  I also tried power off of the processor use chart and it has not fixed either.  Any other ideas?

I just have to work through the search preferences in camera raw window unchecking "use graphics processor.  Hope this helps someone else.

  • Camera Raw open as smart object is not re-opening Camera Raw on double click!

I can't get the Camera Raw dialog to reappear after I open an image as a smart object in Photoshop.

Note that I'm opening Photoshop CS6, no bridge or Lightroom. I use Open as... (Shift-Ctrl-Alt-O), then select Camera Raw in the file Type drop-down list to open a standard PSD file. It happens in the Camera Raw dialog box. After that making edits (and savings as a preset) I SHIFT-click on the CR Open button to change to Open ACE Object.

It happens in Photoshop with the changes. The thumbnail of the layer shows the small icon of the smart object to this topic. But when I double-click on top the dialogue came not from Camera Raw. Instead, Photoshop opens what appears to be a copy built of the original image with no editing. It carries the extension .psd, not the usual .psb extension. In addition, any changes to this document and save it has bizarre results on the original image.

I swear to you that I managed to do work once earlier today, but now he does this again and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I thought that maybe that's a small problem, but rebooting did not help.

Thanks if you can understand this a ton!

Since I realized this file to open a JPG or PNG (and probably a RAW) as Camera Raw works very well. In other words, I can edit in Camera Raw, and then shift-click to Open the Object and the smart object works fine in Photoshop. It's only when I try to open a PSD file type by using the file > open as... (File type: Camera Raw) I get the weird behavior when I opened CR mods as a smart object. Someone know why it works with a JPG or PNG format, but does not work with a PSD file?

AFTER THAT I have the JPG or PNG opened as a smart object, I can then save it as a PSD and smart objects work fine.

  • Cannot open files in Camera Raw in Bridge CS6

    30/05/2014

Believe that this problem happened after automatic update to Adobe (but not sure).

Always transferred files from camera in the bridge, then make some changes by opening JPEG and RAW (NEF) files in Camera Raw in bridge.

Now, "open in Camera Raw" is grayed out and I can't find a way to open files with Camera Raw inside Bridge CS6.  This seemed to happen suddenly and without new software or applications added to the computer.  All the other apps/software works well.

Have you tried various bugs found on Adobe community discussions without success.  Now ongoing problem for more than a week +.

Am able to open files in Photoshop without problem, but want to be able to make some quick changes using Camera Raw, open files from Bridge CS6.

I use Bridge CS6 Version 5.0.2.4.  (as part of Adobe Creative Suite 6).  Update says I have the latest version of the bridge.

I use an iMac with Intel Core i7 processor computer

    OS X 10.8.5

Found others with this same or very similar problems on the forums but it either can't understand access plan/patches or impossibility of complete instructions on my computer.

See for example: Camera RAW update the question with Bridge CS6

Since this link/discussion, we find this "solution":

Updated Camera Raw 8.4, Bridge CS6 Mac OS is not display the image metadata, or allow you to edit images in Camera Raw.

Manually install the camera Raw plugin 8.4.

    1. Exit Adobe Bridge.
    2. Download the file below.
    3. Find and double-click on the downloaded file to unzip it. The resulting file is camera Raw.plugin.
    4. Navigate to the folder Macintosh HD.
    5. Open the folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe / Plug - Ins / CS6 / File Formats.
IMPORTANT: Navigate to the folder root of the library on your hard drive, not the library folder in your user folder.
    6. Copy the step 3 Camera Raw.plugin file Formats folder.
IMPORTANT: This new file overwrites the file already in this folder. It is important that a single camera Raw.plugin file located in this folder.
    7. Open Adobe Bridge.

    *Camera Raw.plugin.zip
Mac OS Camera Raw plugin 8.4 for a manual installation

However, when I try the above, I have these questions:

    1. when I double click on the downloaded file, my computer opens PhotoShop and an error message is displayed, that States "could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this file type."  (I think this may mean my computer is automatically unzipped the file, but I'm not sure about that).

2 not quite sure I don't know how 'navigate to the folder Macintosh HD' suggested in step 4 above (OK, I'm new on Mac; since a long time PC user...)

    3. when I am in the 'Finder' and click on 'GO' while holding down the button 'Option', I find "library".  in this context, I find ' / Library/Application Support/Adobe ", but there is no 'Plugins' folder in the subfolder"Adobe ".

4 don't know how if I'm in the 'library root' on my drive hard vs 'library under my user folder '.  (New, new Mac...)

I have NOT yet tried to make a "Uninstall" and then re - install Adobe Creative Suite 6 together and I would like to avoid that if possible.

Absolutely would LOVE it if Adobe would simply push an update that should fix this problem or if someone could explain to me how I could restore the previous version that worked perfectly for me.

Any help, suggestions (in very basic, simple terms that any fool again in the world of Macintosh can understand) would be appreciated.  Very frustrated with Adobe at the moment.

Especially like the switch to Mac, but with this and my picture to come to a sudden stop workflow, have doubts.  (But I guess that the update of Adobe for PC can cause problems as well).

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

    30/05/2014

Literally minutes after I posted the above, I thought that this myself and now I'm a happy camper and things are back to normal!

Here's my question/error: as a new Mac user, I was not negotiating/find files on my hard drive correctly.

In case there are others out there with this same question (and I'm apparently dense):

Here's what I did which resulted in a correction:

    First steps:

    1 exit/close bridge

    2. as stated in the post above, go to this link to download the Camera Raw Plugin file:

Issue update to Camera RAW with Bridge CS6

Link to download is towards the end of the instructions, but I try to insert this link for download here:

    Camera Raw.plugin.zip

    3. once the file has been downloaded, find her using "Finder" click "Finder" and look on the options list on the left side of the Finder window to find "downloads".  On my computer, clicking on "Finder" these options appear in the list on the left:

    All my files

    Air drop

    Applications

    Desktop

    Documents

    Downloads

    Movies

    Music

    Photos

    4. download you just made should be at or near the top of your download list should be designated as 'Camera Raw.plugin' and will be 83.5 MB size

    5. I clicked (two fingers on the touchpad) to bring up the drop-down options menu and choose 'Copy 'Caméra Raw.plugin' ' this list to copy the file.

Now, you copied the plug that will correct this problem.  The second set of steps below will guide you through how to replace the file that is located on your hard drive with this record in the file you copied.

Second series of measures (and this is where, as a new Mac user, I was confused at the beginning)

    1. even once, click 'Finder' on your Mac.

    2. the top of the screen, find 'GO' and click on it.  ("File, edit, view, GO, window, help", you should see "Finder" in the upper right corner of your screen, then click on the THUMB)

    3. in the drop-down menu that appears, click on 'computer '.

    4. then double-click on "Macintosh HD" to open your hard drive

    5. then double-click on the "Library" folder to open that.

    6. then, click on "Application Support" folder to open that.

    7. then, double-click the "Adobe" folder to open that.

    8. then, double-click on the "Plug-Ins" folder to open that

    9. now double click on "CS6" to open this folder.

    10. Finally, double-click on the "File Formats" folder that appears.

    11. NOW you should see this:

    12. click right (two finger press if you use a Tablet) to open the options window.  Select 'paste' by clicking on this option.

    13. you will be prompted with an option to keep existing file replace GOLD file.  Choose "Replace" according to the new "Caméra Raw.plugin" file in this folder.

Finally, if you now go back and open Bridge CS6, you should be good to go.

Hope this helps someone out there.

I hope that future updates to Adobe will be better.

  • Error opening Camera RAW

CS5 running on Windows 7.  Of in Bridge I click with the right button on a RAW image and select this option to open in camera raw...

I immediately get an error as follows:

Camera Raw editing is not enabled.

Camera Raw edition requires a product calling has been

launched at least once to activate this feature.

But if I just double click on the RAW image or try to open it with Photoshop and camera RAW opens successfully.  If I click on edit then Preferences Camera RAW... Also, I get the same error message.   I've been running this software on this computer for a long time and have never had a problem until today.

Yesterday, I installed a new motherboard in the computer, but I don't see how this would have caused this problem.  The computer came very well and ran without any problems, and that this error as Photoshop seems to work very well.

Can someone tell me why I get this error or what I can do to solve the problem?

    Thank you

I think the answer is on the right track.

You must disable the CS5 (from the Help menu *) and then uninstall it. Run the CS5 clean Script and re - install and reactivate.

    The script is here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/creativesuite/script/5/WinCS5Cleanupscript.zip

    * If the disable command is grayed out, you compose the Adobe activation number and explain.

  • Camera Raw yellow box on blue background

I just installed the trial version of Photoshop CC on my computer. I try to open a file of a camera in Camera Raw D1X NEF, however, I see only a box yellow (instead of the image) on a blue background. Here is some useful information...

    Windows 10, 64-bit

    Adobe Bridge CC Version 6.1.1.10 x 64

    Adobe Camera Raw Version 9.2.0.486

In Bridge, the NEF thumbnail appears fine and a XMP is generated.

If the XMP from my old version of bridge had been treated in my old version of Camera Raw, open NAVE ok file in the new version of Camera Raw, but it is defined in the 2003 process, ACR 4.4

All other features of Camera Raw seems to work on the same image that I see the histogram update I make changes. Yet, it simply shows a yellow box instead of my image.

This is what it looks like...

Can anyone suggest how could this problem be addressed?

  • RE: Camera Raw and smart objects

    Hello everyone.

    I have a question please.

Inside of the 8.1 camera raw workflow options, I checked the box to open in Photoshop as smart objects.

I noticed inside the Camera Raw, open the Image box to turn to, the open object box.  I clicked open, and he opened the Image as objects inside Photoshop the Smart.

If I make changes to the Image, and if I Double click on the smart object, it will open in Camera Raw again which is good.

I also noticed that if I make changes to the Image inside the Raw to the dynamic object camera after clicking Open Smart Objects I see the changes inside the Photoshop too.

But if I make the changes to the Image inside the Photoshop, and later I Double click on the Image, the Image opens inside the Camera Raw, without modification.

Here's my question: still The Smart object Image is a Raw Image?

    My next question is:

I don't know if I open a Raw Image Inside the Camera Raw and if I click on fact, the image is always a Raw Image, which is good, and if I click on Reset low, will reset back. If I change only the White Balance and click on go back the Camera Raw and I chose as shot, the Image goes back to the Original Raw file.

But if I do other changes such as exposure, any color change and click on I did can never return to the original...

Last month I was in collaboration with the Lightroom and I noticed if I open a raw image inside the Lightroom and modifications to make the Image, any time I can click on reset and the Raw image dates back to its origin.

I don't think that we can do this with Camera Raw can us?

Claire removes the settings in camera raw completely. You will not see the setting on the thumbnail icon in Bridge

By default Camera Raw will display the icon and double click on the thumbnail will always open in Camera Raw with the default settings.  The default value is "As Shot", that's why you see no difference. It is when you select a default Custom you want. He will stay with the Camera Raw file.

See this article by Julienne Kost.

    http://blogs.Adobe.com/jkost/2009/10/setting_new_camera_raw_default.html

Another difference is with JPEGs. Open a JPEG in ACR, making an adjustment, click 'done '.  Select 'Default Camera Raw' and it will always open in ACR instead of Photoshop.  Select 'Clear' and it's a normal jpeg which is still open in Photoshop.

Basically it's all I know, I normally don't use ACR much.

  • Photo appears in white (can not see the image) If you use camera raw filter in photoshop cc

I have a new install of Photoshop CC on my macbook.  I'm running into a problem when you edit an image in Photoshop cc and using the camera raw filter.  If I choose the camera raw filter camera raw opens upward, but all I see is white - the image is not displayed in the interface of camera raw.  This happens whenever I'm working on a layer and apply the raw camera filter.  The only time it works is when I don't have all the layers, but only the image that it comes directly from the camera raw inside - then it works fine.  I'm guessing that there is I'm missing something really basic, but it's maddening!

    You are welcome.

The Camera RAW filter will not work on a single adjustment layer. Select the layer with the image and the adjustment layer and convert it to dynamic object to apply the filter Camera RAW image with the applied adjustment layer.

  • Use Camera RAW with the Sony Nex-3

    Hey guys!

I want to get more details on my photos.

    I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS5

Sony NEX - 3 camera Compact (listed in the camera raw compatibility list)

First, I changed the photo cameras to jpg in RAW format and made some photos.

At home I tried to open the files with Camera Raw. Does not work. The sony camera recorded images as ARW file.

So I downloaded Adobe DNG Converter. I've converted the ARW in a RAW file and opened it with camera raw.

So far so good! I opened the FIRST photo with Photoshop. Just to test with 8 & 16-bit also. My camera supports 16-bit?

I compared the RAW file with the jpg created again.

Normally the quality of the raw file should be much better than the jpg compressed, I think.

I took a quick glance at some other pictures of jpg (I shot in JPG Mode) and compared with the FIRST Images (RAW Mode).

I have seen absolutely no difference between RAW and JPG.

I also tried an exact correction of the tonal value at the two images.

Even with the other image corrections. More details, noise, sharpness... even.

With the Sony NEX-3 there was also a program included RAW that opens the ARW files.

I do not see too many differences between RAW and jpg here.

    What I a m d INGO evil ?

I must say that I am a beginner camera's gross. I tried for the first time. I thought it would be easier!

The screenshot below see you an image on the left and a 16-bit DNG on the right.

I have not found any difference!

I would greatly appreciate your help and some good advice.

    Best regards Andi

    jpg-raw.jpg

You have a lot of questions, and you will get countless different answers.

Firstly, raw images are generally images 12 or 14 bits.  Your camera doesn't have to support that, because it's one of the benefits of shooting in raw.  Camera Raw opens the images in a 16-bit workspace.  Due to the additional bits and other factors as well, you're able to do a lot more with images.  If you have deep and strong or extremely brilliant shadows highlights overexposed, you will find that you can recover a lot more detail in these troubled when areas you work with raw image data.  The fact is that if you have perfectly exposed image and you're not overexposed areas or mitigate the shadows, it will be difficult to see the difference.

If you really are not a bad thing.  You must do some experiments more and some studies to better understand yourself the advantage for the filming of raw images.  If you're like most people who contribute here, once you realize you has all the benefits of shooting raw images, you will probably stop shooting JPEG in total.

  • Issues of Bridge CS5 XMP / Camera Raw

I was using a bridge normally to browse photos / pdf for ect. Suddenly, almost 'out of the blue', he stopped to store any settings and the changes I made to the photos.

For example: I open the bridge, double click on photos (RAW format), camera raw opens and then I make a few alterations. Click on 'done '. Camera raw closes. Normally an excerpt of this photo has been updated and the settings stored in the XMP file. Now, all this simply does not work: I can make any adjustments, but when I click on "done" it closes the Camera raw without saving the changes. Purge the cache does not work. It does not open the file directly from Photoshop. I checked the permission to access the file individual and photo and they are ok. Does anyone have the same problem?  Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Try resetting Bridge preferences.  Bridge to close then restart bridge and immediately press Ctrl + Alt + shift until reset it the settings dialog box is displayed, then select Reset preferences.

First off, you should be downloading and installation of camera 5.7 Raw which is the latest version of Camera Raw for CS4. Secondly, why you declare that you have to manually install Camera Raw? Last point, you're messing around with "camera profiles" in your message that has ZERO to do with the plug in Camera Raw itself... the profiles are for DNG profiles in the camera calibration tab if you have not installed Camera Raw is questionable.

To download the 5.7 version go HERE. There are instructions to manually install the profiles and the plug-in Camera Raw.

  • Adobe Camera Raw single window full screen?

I use Elements 7.0. To improve my photography, I concentrated on getting more nearly correct exposure in camera using zone etc system for more information about near the exhibition right after the shooting, I started shooting in raw. I bought a few books, videos etc. and I get the basics down pretty well.

I have a basic question. I sought help elements both in this forum and I can't find anything that answers my question.

When I select a nef (Nikon D90) image in the organizer and go to 'Edit', then 'Complete Edition', the box of Adobe Camera Raw opens full screen with the selected image is displayed. No part of the desktop is displayed, including the taskbar.

Is it possible to open ACR which is not full screen? I'm so new I still need to consult to help understand how some sliders. I have a 25.5 diagonal screen, so I have the screen real estate to have a fairly large cab window at the same time display a help screen.

    Thank you for your comments.

Not sure if this will help, but on my cab to the right of the preview box there is a symbol of the window-double-arrow, which activates / turns off mode full screen in ACR even if ACR has started in full screen you he unmaximize and then resize a little bit smaller.  I don't know how to start non-optimized in the scenario you describe because I do not use this scenario and my ACR starts in some way I finally closed it, full screen or not.
