  I found how to fix this problem. This is just a little registry tweaking:

  Open regedit.exe as administrator, go to:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Elantech\SmartPad

  Find the key named:

  DisableWhenType_Enable

  Double-click and change the value to 0, close and restart. Your touchpad is active while typing!

  SmartSense is almost identical to Palm check, so turn off should allow you to use the keyboard and the touchpad at the same time - just click on the "gear" beside SmartSense, adjust the slider to turn it off, click close and then click on apply to save the change.

  Another parameter in Windows 8/8.1 you can also check is as follows.

  In the bar of charms, click setting and select change PC settings.

  I recently bought a new Satellite Pro A200 - 1 MI (psae7e). Thing is that while I was using it at the start there was this allocation at the beginning which allowed us to use the shortcut keyboard (fn + keys) on the screen.
  It was at the top of the screen.

  So I clicked on the tab to disable my touchpad but now I can't seem to activate the touchpad and accidentally closed this keyboard shortcut help too.

  So all tried to re-enable the touchpad; reinstalled driver, tried to install the touchpad power and everything...

  Please help me.
  If there are questions to ask...
  I really hope that someone could find an answer for me.

  You can restart Flash cards: start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities > settings for Flash cards. Open these settings and clear the check box in front of the option to disable.
  I hope that you will be able to use Flash cards again.

  Hi, I use a samsung netbook n150, loaded with the software of windows 7. I found that on the samsung touchpad is too sensitive and decided to turn it off and use the mouse.   Check the status of the device in the Device Manager under Computer Management console: perhaps the touchpad is disabled or uninstalled and you can reactivate it or force the detection of changes of material.

  Try pressing WIN + X to launch Windows Mobility Center and look for any kind of option that could be useful to reactivate the touchpad.

  Of course, you should be able to find the touchpad settings in Control Panel-> mouse-> pointing device (last tab)-> settings button.

  But this requires the Synaptics touchpad driver installed. This driver has been installed?

  You may be able to work around this problem as follows.

  First, download the Synaptics driver on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

  Open Control Panel, open programs and features, right click on the Synaptics driver and select uninstall.

  When finished, restart the laptop.

  When windows rebooted, open your download folder and re-run the installer of Synaptics - when it is finished, restart the laptop.

  Open the Synaptics settings panel, disable SmartSense or PalmCheck , then check if the touchpad works now with a key on the keyboard is pressed.

  If so, turn on your wireless card and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the Synaptics driver.

  Sorry if Im this ad in the wrong forum, but I just got a new HP laptop and I can't use the touchpad in now the keys down. I'm playing a game that requires the touchpad to look around, but I can't. Ive already tried disable palmcheck and only allowed me to look around for a second short before the cursor locked up and I wouldn't be able to look around again until I wasn't pressing the keys.   There is a way in XP to put the key then typing an accidental shot of my sleeve did not send words entered in another place.
  I can't find a way to do this for my nice new Qosmio X 305 running Vista.

  Try it please with FN + F9. This option is for the option enable/disable the touchpad.

  You can try to toggle the touchpad on and with the Fn + F7 combo. Not exactly a tick or simple toggle key but might be good enough for you.
