• setting the parameters of serial port VISA does not persist

  When I set the baud rate using the VISA's Interactive Control Panel for a serial port specific (ASRL) and then close the window for ASRL, baud rate goes back to the default value.  Why doesn't baud rate?

  Some information:

  My C program works on an industrial PC which has a PXI MXI connected to it expansion chassis.  Series 3 cards in the expansion chassis.

  When you close the VISA session and/or close your application, port settings in the system default values.  It is a very normal behavior.  As long as you keep your open VISA session, the port will behave how you already told (set Baud Rate, etc.).

  Meh... I know I'll be back on a fairly old post, but I found the solution.

  For some reason any installation Vision Acquisition software 8.5.1 created the problem by defining itself as the default driver for the network card. Then, go to 'manage' by right clicking on the 'Bureau', go to the hardware section, network card and select the intel driver solved the problem.

  What version of Java are you using ("Ai2" or "ai2 last developer version ')? In the latter case, you would not be able to open the serial port using Connector.open.

• delay in the introduction of serial port to main loop

  I have a main program which consists of a period of time cards each loop iteration that is NI DAQ data acquisition.

  I want to have a serial port call that is executed only when a new value is entered.

  I can use a shift register and compare the present value the value spent, and then run the serial port when the value is changed.

  But when I do this, the program takes about 6-7 seconds until all the data is read on the ground after clicking the run button.

  I found that, even if the serial port does nothing, that the delay is still there.

  For example, I initialize the port series outside the while loop...

  I'm dragging the sons mistake and resouce for the serial port through the while loop, then make the visa close outside the while loop.

  NOR should not yet be it making any type of calculations on the serial port, whereas only the presence of wire delays the appearance of the program by a total of 6 seconds.

  As soon as the wire is removed, the program is in normal operation.

  Starting with ESXi 4.1, you can go through a serial port.  Simply add a port series to virtual hardware for the virtual machine and choose the option 'Use the physical serial port'.

  Here are more details about it:

  1 hyperion Essbase Agent uses port number 1423.
  2 hyperion Essbase Esssvr processes using port 32768 by 33768 numbers.
  Each application process uses two ports in the range.

  The first port (e.g. 32768) is used for communication between the client and the server.

  The second way (e.g. 32769) is used for communications between the server and the agent. As the agent and the server generally operate on the same computer, the communication between them is never going beyond the local computer. In this scenario, it is acceptable to have a Firewall closes this second application port.

  Note: The "Server" is the ESSSVR process, on which the application runs.  Essbase.exe is the agent

  I had the installation of Oracle Database 10 g on my machine(*Windows XP) *. I was able to access my DBs as SYS with cmd using SQLPLUS before I installed Oracle Forms and reports 6i. My installation of the database lies in D:\Oracle and forms in c:\Orant. Now, every time I start cmd and type sqlplus /nolog a new cmd window opens. If I try to connect as SYS it gives me error "insufficient privileges" but I connect as system and other users.
  I don't understand why this is happening. Can someone explain to me please the possible reason?

  You can do separate setting ORACLE_HOME and path. Set ORACLE_HOME to be the database of home server. Also you have to reset the path variable, because this executable variable list in the order for example if your path is set to c:\orant\bin;...c:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Client_1\BIN then sqlplus in the first folder will not be from the second. To fire the second folder you must reset the path to make the second become first in the order.

  PXI produce enumeration auto for the ports series (COM3, COM4, COM5...) according to the card slot, but when there is a mix of the two models of the system would then list a model (8431) from 3 to 50 (6 cards and 8 ports) and the other model (8421) 51 to 98. so if I have 8421 in 2 and 8431 slot number in the slot number 3 it would list 2nd slot COM59 to COM68 and 3rd slot COM11 to COM19.

  Why not just use NOR-MAX to manually configure the ports?

• 8430 PXI cannot open serial ports

  Hi all

  I have problems using the NI PXI-8430/8 map serial ports.

  After installing the driver, the device works very well and the troubleshooter MAX serial shows all 8 ports as adopted and I can access ports.

  After a restart of the system, I can not access the ports of 8430. This utility lists all the ports 'Impossible' with the message "cannot open port.

  In the Device Manager configuration seems correct. Also, I find no error in the Windows registry (COMDB,...). Everythings seems good enough.

  I think that theres might be no other application that could take control of all ports, especially not after a reboot.

  I tried to reinstall the drivers, reorganize the com-numbers and I have already changed the material 8430. Nothing solved the problem...

  Does anyone have a solution or any ideas?
