Opening lid do not wake
No idea as to why my Vaio 13 Pro is no longer wake up from sleep when I opened the lid? He worked and the Viao control center is set to wake up at the opening of the lips. I tried what I think, restarting, etc., but nothing works.
question: closure lid to sleep, open the lid NOT the release of sleep
system: 4500U-13 pro i7, 8 GB, VAIO, 256SSD running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
solution (work for me)
In VAIO Control Center under power and battery
Parameters:
Lid open Action "summary of sleep '.
Action close lid (both) 'Sleep '.
So far, I guess that most of us have already tried these parameters.
However, for some mysterious reason another selection more further down, to the title of the 'technology Intel Smart Connect' (more by clicking on the 'Détails' button) was 'Hibernate' selected, rather than "sleep." This is the second area of dropdwon under the section 'State in the course of the day before'
This must occur after execution of the major update of windows recently, (but who knows, right?)
Hope it works for you, now, I opened the lid and it will return to standby automatically.
See you soon

Satellite C660-162 wake ups opening lid
I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-162.
I just bought 2 days ago and I found that I have a problem with the portable fashionable release cover "sleep" and I close the lid and then reopen this return, wakes the laptop mode "Eve".
Sometimes he wakes and other times he is not waking up. This case occurs when the tower is connected. If it is running on battery, open the lid is not wake the portable computer so I need a solution to this problem.
I need a time only option to wake up or he wake up using the power button.
Thank youHello
I think you should just change the setting in the power of Win 7 options.
Check this doc from Toshiba:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD12017W0001R01.htmHere, you should take a look at the option named the cover and the Power button.
_Lid narrow action_
+ Specifies the computer response to closing the cover of the display: standby, enter Hibernation mode, shut down (shut down), or nothing to do. This option provides a convenient way to put the computer to sleep before taking a plane or leave the Office for a meeting. + -

Time Machine do not wake the Macbook to perform backups
I'm saving a Macbook Pro on a Mac Mini with OS X Server installed. Previously, I supported it up to a USB hard drive connected locally. It is 1 year and Yosemite, can it take hourly backups while you sleep as expected.
In both cases, Time Machine works fine, except one thing... Hourly backups do not, occur when the computer is in standby. In other words, the Mac does not wake itself for the backup as expected (Power Nap is enabled.)
I've seen similar to this, other issues involving a UPS connected by USB, but I have no one.
What I tried:
1. I did a clean (with format) installation of El Capitan of the recovery partition and did not restore from Time Machine (just dragged my music, photos, documents to their respective homes manually).
2. I have also reset the SMC and the PRAM without effect on this issue.
3. I upgraded 10.11.2 and the problem persists.
4 past of connected locally to target (USB) for a target of network (on OS X Server) without change
Starting from what a manual backup works perfectly and automatic backups occur as planned then I use the computer (that is, as long as it doesn't go to sleep).
Energy Saver preferences are using default values, Power Nap is enabled.
So my question is just... Before I contact support, does anyone know if there is a bug open for this report? I * have * read the other threads and they speak very precisely a connected UPS number and that a fix was imminent in 10.11.2. The other owners of Macbook having this problem?
Time Machine wakes you up only the Mac to perform a backup, if the Mac is connected to a power outlet. If you did that, then it might be a bug that I don't know a solution.

Computer HP laptop-15-f162dx (POWER: Standby Mode will not Wake-Up)
I put the switches so that the computer does not turn off and Sleep Mode for 15 minutes. However, the computer go to sleep after 30 minutes and will not wake up! I have to restart the computer everytime I want to work on that. It is significant in the end pain when I need to leave for half an hour when I'm working on something.

Hey @CARnPAR,
I have recommended to you to return Windows 8.1 Notebook, as if updates have not been completed before the upgrade, this could cause problems. The marked Windows 10 upgrade update. No HP upgrade.
You will need to return the option balanced diet plan options if it's high performance, it didn't wake up from sleep mode. Here is a link on the mode "Eve" of issues.
If this is insufficient, please use the following link to create yourself a file number, then call and it can help to expedite the appeal process:
Open the link: www.hp.com/contacthp/ follow the prompts
Enter the product number or select Auto detection

They will be happy to help you immediately. Thank you. -
When I close the lid or let it expire and go to sleep he does not wake up when the cover. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens about 8 links on 10.
You can tell it's still on, but the screen remains black.
I searched and didn't find any resolution that worked for me.
A recommendation was disable incident reports, and that did not work.
I preformed also all updates of the firmware as well as the upgrade to windows 8.1.
The problem is exactly the same point 8.1 as it was in windows 8.
Just to follow up.
I did a factory reset the origin of windows 8 and the problem disappeared.
I think it may have been originally caused by my being too aggressive when bloating. I have uninstalled something I shouldn't that caused the problem in the first place.
In any case;
problem solved.

Firefox does not open or does not (see/questions/964132)
was Ok until recently
Please include more information, such as your operating system (Windows?) and the version, more exactly what is happening when you try to start Firefox. The information provided in a recent Firefox crash report, if any, can also help. See Firefox plant - troubleshoot and prevent assistance fixing crashes under help in setting this crash and post any crash report IDs recently (they start with bp - )
The title of your question, says "Firefox does not open or does not (see/questions/964132)" I have reviewed this issue and it was launched by another user of Firefox. /questions/964132? page = 2 # 477049 answer has a number of suggestions if Firefox does not start. Which have you tried?
To see other possible solutions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in Firefox
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Browser_will_not_start_up
- / issues/958850 Firefox does not open after a reboot
Note: A "clean and reinstall" was one of the suggestions/issues/964132. This means remove the Firefox application and then files by reinstalling Firefox since a new download, as explained at the stage of "Reinstall Firefox" in troubleshoot and diagnose problems in Firefox. So that allows you to start Firefox, but if the problem comes back after the computer restarts, you should make another "clean reinstall" and then resolve your plugins by disabling all, as suggested by the troubleshoot and diagnose problems of Firefox article.

Tecra Z50 - A - 11 c: external display do not wake
Hello
I've got Tecra Z50 - A - 11 c and an external display connected to the VGA port.
I implemented the plan of power management to turn off the screen after 10 minutes. The monitor turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
The problem is that is not wake the mouse or a key.I have to restart the laptop to put the image on the external monitor.
The internal display works fine.It seems to me like a BIOS problem, but I have the latest version of the BIOS.
Any ideas?Thank you
JacekWhat happens if you press the function key (Fn + F5) to change the display output? This combination activates the external monitor again?
Have you noticed the same problem using the hibernation, or "sleep" mode?I m not very good if it really a laptop before issuing.
I mean the internal display still works fine and it would be advisable to check this problem using different external monitors.By the way: the laptop supports Intel HD Graphics 4400. Try to install the latest Intel GPU driver:

Is it possible to start Firefox without having to open any page, not even a blank page?
Just curious. Is possible to start Firefox 4.0.1 without opening any page, not even a blank page?
No, you can hide the tab, if there is only one tab open, but it's not good to do.
Perhaps if you explain why you don't want a blank tab, maybe we could have a nicer-sounding answer, if the answer is still no.
What I don't like in Firefox 4, which is a blank tab ("" subject: vacuum "") presents itself as 'New tab' which is incorrect, once you do another thing the former title on the tab before 4.0 was more correct and it was in parens so he showed better as "(sans titre) ' on the close tabs and is correct, because it has no title."

elitedesk 800 does not wake from sleep, performed a start rather
HP EliteDesk 800 G1 USDT Win8.1 Pro 64-bit
After the sleep mode to not wake up the keyboard or mouse click.
Pressing the key Power performed a clean boot from the stop.
Computer came with Windows 7 Pro. I installed Windows 8 since the disks provided with the computer and improved online at Windows 8.1. Everything seems to work fine, but the modes of Eve/hibertation.
By pressing on a keyboard or screen sleep button apparently sends computer standby: the screen is black, white power button mouse and keyboard LED off, LED blinks once every two seconds.
However computer not wakes up on a key on the keyboard and pressing a button / a computer turns on, but does boot upward as if it were completely off.
Already checked for the latest version of the BIOS and enabled for keyboard and mouse power management.
Hi Jaco,
Thanks for your suggestion. I tried to experiment with the settings of power for the keyboard and the mouse, and simply made sure that both are enabled to wake the computer from sleep mode. I began to suspect that he may be the controller USB keyboard to wake the computer asleep, and I've experimented with a PS/2 keyboard without result.
Then I reread in BIOS settings help mode "standby" should be indicated in triple LED flash, and I was getting only single blink of the LED, and I started to look into each option in Advanced settings of the power management and guess what I found?
THE SOLUTION
When I turned the sleep > allow hybrid sleep set Off, "sleep mode" started working:
By pressing on the sleep button sends computer mode 'sleep', white LED travels triple flash and two seconds apart, and by pressing a key on the keyboard wakes the computer.
Apparently my hardware configuration somehow comes into conflict with the Win8 hybrid sleep mode. SSD?

Hello world. It's just a message of public service regarding an issue I encountered. I found that my 900 Yoga do not "wake up" after he went to sleep when you are connected to an external monitor.
I am connected to a HP 27VX monitor by a C of Type USB to HDMI adapter. I found that my Yoga wakes up without problem if the screen is off (power options disable the display settings), but he does not wake up if she gets to sleep when it is connected to the monitor. The question however is not that he don't wake up, the problem is that for some reason when it is connected to the monitor there's going to ever really sleep (slow flashing white light). I think it is the way of somehow when you try to go to sleep. When he enters this mode, the power led is white, and the only solution is power Yoga of the cycle. I don't know why he won't successfully to sleep when it is connected to a monitor, but my guess is a certain type of driver/hardware between the USB type C HDMI adapter and the monitor problem.
I checked that everything works as designed when I am not connected to the monitor. My solution is to go to power options and turn on my sleep option (when it's plugged in) to "never". Not a solution by any means, just a work around so that all stakeholders (Lenovo, HP) understand how to work with the new port USB Type C. I hope this helps.
Rob
Lenovo support makes installation. I don't remember whether or not she has uninstalled the driver first. Sorry:)
