Operation of the USB ports on Windows 7 OS

I got a SAMSUNG laptop SF411 job fifth generation i5 on 64-bit WINDOWS7. It went wrong in the sense of windows updates have not been configured. To access the support online were trying trying to Mr J Haydee. But the problem has not been resolved. On fitness by using the recovery by the manufacturer disc, everything has restored except two USB 3.0 port. All required them to leave the internet have been downloaded programs, but the ports are completely inadmissible.

Can anyone provide any solution?

You probably have not installed driver USB 3.  Visit the Samsung support and find the driver and install it.  Sometimes the names of the drivers on these sites can be very mysterious, then you may need to do some detective to discover who it is.

CAUTION: Do not use one of these myriads of download of driver from the web sites.  Most is either infections or contain little value.

  • Portege R100 - question about the installation of the USB port and Windows problems

    Hello

I just bought a used Portege R100, but I have some problems. Of course the laptop isn't a CD or DVD, player so I tried an external DVD drive, but it did not work. What kind of device I have to install Windows (not an edition of recovery or anything like that, but a whole new windows on the formatted HARD drive)?

I also have another problem: whenever I plug a USB device (I tried the DVD drive external and a USB keyboard) when I start the laptop, it seems to hang. At least, I am not able to type anything more; the keyboard of the laptop is dead (the point where the entrance would still be flashing in the BACK platform, but typing. sth on the keyboard isn't doing anything). It is not normal, is it?

I also tried to get to the BIOS, but I tried various commands (F1 to F12, DEL etc.), but I couldn't access the BIOS. It would be great if someone could tell me the command for it.

Thanks in advance for the help and sorry for the bad English, I'm not a native speaker :)

Windows 7 does not recognize that a Canon canoscan 8000F is as a device when it is connected to the USB port.  Tried unplugging, reboot & reconnect, in different orders, but the computer does not recognize there is.  Tried to install a European website for Canon driver: Scangear CS, 8000fvst8120a_xpen.exe, which is advertised as compatible with Windows 7.   But the installer does not work.

    Hello Graboots,

Thank you for your message.  You can plug your printer on another computer, in order to exclude the possibility that the problem lies in the printer?  You can try using a different cable, for this rule as well.  Since it is a question of recognition, we remove the external devices before software troubleshooting.  Do you get anything when you plug the printer (ie. a tinkle of connection)?  Please let us know, we are looking forward to hear back on your part.

  • The Device Manager on my Windows box lists a hub USB 3.0 as one of USB controllers. This means that one or more of the USB ports are capable of 3.0?

I recently bought a backup disk says he would run faster is it my 3.0 instead of 2.0 USB ports.

Just try to understand the computer itself, if one of the 8 USB ports on my desktop Dell (Windows 7, 64-bit box) is capable of USB 3.0.

    Hi John,.

The message that Windows gives is Windows telling you put a USB 3.0 device in a USB 2.0 slot and the speeds will be Cap using USB 2.0 footrest.

If you are looking for your system on the website of Glens, it should tell you if one of the USB ports are 3.0 or not.  I think that USB 3.0 is marked with the blue wire around the ports.

  • the Windows 7 usb Installer may not work on the usb port 3

Windows 7 install usb does not work on the usb port 3 with 32 GB usb 3 keys, says he needs a cd/dvd driver?

but there is no cd drive in this machine.
Works very well with an old USB 2 on usb 2 & usb ports 3 in the same machine.
But no usb 3 key into a usb port 3?
    any ideas?

    Thanks anyway JW stuart.

I managed to find a way to do it, I needed to set the usb drivers 3 unzipped on a 2nd USB on usb port 2 to use when the Setup program has been started and lost the USB 3.
the ol F6 trick always works with win 7 and is more flexible, now that it allows pilots more than just raid.

in any case, when I try to plug my mouse optical usb in the port of e/s (usb port) on the front panel (which supports usb 2.0) a notification pops up saying

    • Plug my optical mouse on my other ports and it works perfectly fine (to see if its working)
    • Plug the mouse (in the wrong port), went to Device Manager and uninstall the unknown device, reboot with usb plug in and have the connection to the internet (not decided)
    • Uninstall all devices under USB bus controllers in the Manager device and rebooted with mouse in internet connection (not decided)
    • Went to device manager expanded bus controllers USB right-click on power management all the device label "usb root hub" click and uncheck the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and reboot (do not set)
    • Open the normal startup in msconfig (system configuration) selected and restarted (did not set)
    • Shut down the computer, disconnect the plug, unplug all the devices connected to all IO ports (usb port specifically) and my desktop pc has left alone for an hour and a half and start it to the top after with everything back plug (mouse in the wrong port) (has not set)

Note: when the mouse is connected to the usb port it is light on substance, but its does not (not flashing do not and when you move, mouse is frozen on the monitor)
