To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

(a) click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.

(b) click on the hardware tab.

(c) click the Device Manager button.

(d) expand Bus USB controllers.

(e) right click on each device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.

  • After a reboot, none of the usb ports work and USB problems-uninstalled USB Ports

I just bought a Seagate external drive, but none of my usb ports work. I looked into it and followed what it says on the uninstall of my USB ports, bad move on my part. Now, after a reboot, no usb port works, I've tried all microsoft support said to do and nothing seems to work. I think I need to reinstall my usb root hub? Perhaps, but I can't seem to find anyway to do. Help, please!

    Hello

Check the status of the device in Device Manager. Follow the steps for the same thing:

    a. click on start

    b. click Run, in the Run dialog box type devmgmt.msc

    c. in the Device Manager window, locate the USB key and expand the drive, double-click the sub element to check if an error message or error code is listed.

If there is no error message highlight Bus USB controllers and then click Action select check for material changes.

  • Where are all the USB ports on a TouchSmart all in one? I can only find 2 on the left side

I have a HP TouchSmart all in a (1315xt-600) and can find 2 of the 5 USB ports.  There are 2 located on the side left of the screen, but cannot find the other 3.  Anyone know how to access?

paula407 wrote: thanks a lot for the info.  Another question, about the description I got for my computer, it say I: 6-in-1 memory card reader, 5 total USB, audio.   That's why I thought I had 5 USB ports.  Can you explain what that means?

    Hello paula407, the 6 in 1 card reader shows there: cards 6-in-1 Reader + 2 USB + 1 taken line-in

This suggests that the card reader has only two USB ports on the front of the system and the other USB ports would be on the back or side of the system.

  • LaserJet P1102w, why not install it via the USB port on a second system to dual boot Windows XP/Windows XP?

A seriously paralyzed malware on my laptop Dell Inspiron 1318 running Windows XP Professional SP3 with 3 GB of memory. Some key files have been deleted, and I can't open all .lnk files. After some research, my solution was to start from a clean format. However, I have some programs on the old system that I really need and impossible to reinstall on a new system. So, I chose to install a new WinXP as a dual boot on a separate partition (I have also a third partition that I use for user files); keep the old system for when I really need.

After installing the new WinXP, the detector material caused my LaserJet P1102W printer install pop up box. I was busy to install other drivers at the time so I canceled the installation of the printer later. When I came back to him, he went for the bulk of the fine saves but then abruptly stopped, saying: "the printer installation failed. On the HP site, I went through all the HP printer Diagnostics steps without good results.

I really want to get this printer working on my new system. What can I do?

No problem. Since you are the author of the post, you should see a black button with "Accept as Solution" next to the reply button. While I do not know there have been changes to the system (updates and so on), I don't know what modifications have been made or that one; If any, may be the cause of the problem. Compound that with, I can't get back far enough to get to the last time that I used this printer with this computer and it is a puzzle all around.

  • Satellite L - a single USB port works

    Hello

I've had this laptop for a few months and I could not do all the USB ports work, the system recognizes all the but work alone. If I check the system it says ports are working properly and that it has the latest driver but when I do anything, a mouse, USB KEY, connect headsets to listen nothing, only one of the ports to recognize hardware.

    Can someone help me?

    Hi alecarrill63,

It would be interesting to know what laptop you have exactly and what operating system you are using.
Can you post this important information?

In your case, I will try to update the Web from Toshiba site chipset driver

But theoretically, if only a single USB port works, the other ports may be defective and therefore, it would be necessary to replace the motherboard. :(

  • All the PC Ports USB does not

Before going away for the weekend, I turned off my PC and everything seemed fine. But after coming back, all the USB ports fail to read the devices. I ended up having to use chrome remote desktop and some luck to have access without a keyboard, but now I'm at a loss for what to do. I looked and tried several fixes, but none worked. Currently, the two "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" s listed in the so-called Device Manager "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52) ». Any ideas would help, but so far, I have tried to uninstall/reinstall them normally and tried to delete upper and lower filters, but none were. And I can't do a restore of the system before it started, as I don't have a fairly recent recovery point.

AHA! I managed to get into boot options advanced and done what you said (as well as what said a few other people to do using the first command prompt) to turn off the signature device, and now the back ports are working again!

The front ports but are still stubborn (they don't even give power for what anyone plugged). I'll keep working to fix it, but right now I'm really relieved (I also went ahead and made another restore point in case things went south from there).

  • can I load that an omni 10 threw the usb port

a 10 omni can be charged using the usb port?

    Hello

The recommendation is to use the charger that comes with the unit. You can still use USB port to charge, BUT it can take ages to get a full charge, and this may affect your computer.

    Kind regards.

  • 3 laptops different ALL been facing intermittent problems with the USB ports.

We have 3 laptops at home, running 3 different versions of winsows 7... Home, Professional and Ultimate. They have in recent months ALL given intermittent problems with the USB ports. A device that worked on a port stops working. It may or may not work on another port. A week later it could very well lead again on the port that wouldn't work. This applies to all types of devices.

    A few more questions:

Is there a USB device that you use with all three computers?

This problem occurs with all kinds of USB devices?

The is the problem with all the USB ports on each laptop?

Have you tried to reinstall the USB drivers? As in, uninstall via the Device Manager, restart your PC and allowing Windows to reinstall?

  • lose the usb port when restarting

My laptop suddenly lost all the USB ports. I can uninstall the USB hubs and restart and Windows will load the drivers and recognize the USB ports and any connected equipment. Everything will work as usuall until I reboot then have all usb ports stop working. I've updated my Bios and latest drivers available from the manufacturer (Dell), I am running XP home and that you have installed all updates.

    Hi Zmanomore,

    ·         You also update the chipset drivers?

Method 1: Check if the chipset drivers update is available. If so, the same day and check for the issue.

Method 2: You can try running the fixit in the following article and see if it helps.

USB port may stop working after you remove or insert a USB device

  • Use the USB port to emulate keyboard

    Hello

Is it possible to use a USB port of an on-board controller (PXI8108) to replicate a keyboard when plugged on a device waits

    a USB keyboard?

    Thank you

    Gary.

What I understand about USB, I don't think that you can do.

The USB ports on the PXI controller host ports are and as such cannot be used as ports of the device. A keyboard would be a HID device class. Maybe it's a kind of emulator HID that could be placed between the PXI and your USE awaits a USB keyboard...
