Optical drive from excessive vibration form - M60

My new M60-164, which is otherwise quite impressive, suffers from what I would consider excessive vibrations induced by the optical drive to its speed top two (?). Film DVD and audio CD-speed speeds are very good, but high transfer rates there are enough strong vibrations.

Is not specific to a particular disc and it does not seem to subside, but it worries me regarding the longevity and accuracy of data transfer.

Should I really worry... ?

Hi Dave,.

Vibration at high speed is normally an indication that the CD or the DVD itself is not symmetrical, or that there is an imbalance in the weight on a part of the disk. This can be caused by a poorly equipped CD, which has been applied outside the Center label.

However, if you encounter this vibration on many/all CDs and DVDs then it is probably a defect in the drive itself (probably in the disc of locking mechanism in which case the only option is to take the phone to a repairer approved for her to check.

Kind regards

Is - this external hard drive (smaller) type that is getting power from the USB port of the iMac?  What is bigger, with its own power supply?

Have you tried unplugged power (to completely disable)?  You stop the iMac also (power OFF).  Disconnect all the USB devices, with the exception of the standard USB keyboard and mouse (if used).  The iMac power and connect the optical drive se, to a USB direct on the iMac.  If a port does not work, try a different port.  If you have more than one USB cable, try another, to exclude the defective cable.  If the optical drive is USB 3.0, make sure that the cable you are trying is also assessed for USB 3.0 (not an older USB 2.0 cable).

  • Coaxial optical drive from Console

I just bought an Optiplex 3020 M (micro) and the optical reader Console.  Viewing the back of the console, there is a very small coaxial connector.  It is attached to a small "brick" mounted to the back of the Assembly, but on the inside.  No one knows what it is or what it is?

See if the Manual answers questions on the Console microphone w/DVD player, beginning on page 13.

  • Remove the hard drive and optical drive on HP pavilion 500-164

    Hello

I was eager to build a new computer and was hoping to use the hard drive and the optical drive from the Hp Pavilion 500-164 to reduce their costs. I'm confused as to how to remove the optical drive, because I removed the two screws on the left and don't know how to get to the other side as it wouldn't come out. When you remove the hard drive, the SATA cable wouldn't come off, so I stopped here and would like some advice on how to remove the hard drive from its Bay.

    Thank you

  • Box X 41 optical drive USB

I wonder if I'm hunting a product that does not yet exist.  I just want to know if there is something the market that would allow me to use the optical drive of my X 41 of basis, via USB, with my X 201 of the.  I had bad experiences with consumer USB optical drives, so if I can't follow one down, I'll find one of these optical drives from Dell with the mini-usb hotswap to the back and use it. (Lenovo/IBM, why the hell didn't do you it with your discs too?)

    Hi KnightZero,

Because X 41 dock also uses UltraBay slim, so this would work. I suggest you do a serach on eBay or elsewhere for the UltraBay slim USB adapter housing, maybe you can get a better.

    I hope this helps.

  • Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook - boot from Usb Flash or optical drive

I just this envy Touchsmart Ultrabook (14 inches) with 8 win and it works very well, but one thing that I can't make it work is to be able to boot from a USB stick or a cd usb player.  This system doesn't have a built-in optical drive.

I changed the configuration Bios Boot UEFI for Legacy and also re arranged the boot order so the USB drives are before the internal hard drive.  I also tried to change setting USB 3 auto... still not able to boot from a usb device.

Both the usb flash drive and cd drive to boot on my HP desktop and I recently tried the usb flash drive on a new laptop Lenovo comes with Win 8 and it worked.

I need to do so that I could run my backup - Acronis True Image software.

Any suggestions on what then try?  Thank you.

Yours is a laptop very different mine - so this may not apply... but you can try what I posted here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Notebook-PC-Questions/bios/m-p/2260991

  • Dell Latitude 10 ST2e compressed can not boot from an external USB optical drive

Dell Latitude 10 ST2e compressed can not boot from an external optical drive USB (CD/DVD)

The BIOS has no setting for it. It will boot from a flash drive. I would like to boot from my CD of 2013 Acronis Recovery Console.  Anyone have any success to boot from a CD/DVD USB drive?

Yes, there is a way to do this.

I just did this to install Windows 10 from a DVD on a tablet of 10 Latitude by following these steps:
(Note: my version of BIOS is A08)

    1. turn off the 10 latitude power.
    2. attach a USB hub to the USB slot unique on the side of the tablet.
    3. fix a keyboard and an external USB CD drive to the USB hub.
    4. now press the button down on the side of the Tablet and simultaneously press the power button for 5 seconds (until see you the screen light up, but will be weak against black unlit).
    5. When you see the Dell logo, start typing on the F12 key (the lower right corner shows the option press the F12 key to choose single startup options)
    6. now start choosing appear with many options to choose from, including my CD/DVD drive.

Hope it will be useful to you.

  • Precision T5810 two DVD drives, how can I change that used to boot from at the start of the optical drive

My T5819 of accuracy came with two DVD-RW drives, a thin line 8 x, HL-DT-ST DVD + - RW GTA0N SCSI CdRom Device, the other a full size 16 x PLDS DVD + - RW DH - 16AES SCSI CdRom Device.

To start from a CD bootable (e.g. Acronis image recovery disk) at the present time, it's the drive slimline (E:\) is seen from the trunk once optical drive menu start. I would prefer that it if it was a (currently F\ :).) What should I do to get the disks exchanged in the system (so the reader 16 x becomes E\: and I can start, and control of thin line becomes F\ :)?) Is it simply a matter of reconciliation where they are plugged, or y at - it a bios option (or both?)

    JR-

Guess the permutation of the cables can be that you are the only other choice. Restart, and then press F2 to open the BIOS Setup. Copy down all current settings, just to be sure.

Power then off, unplug and press/hold power button for about 15 seconds before opening the case.

If these are SATA optical drives and reached the data cables, do not bother exchange of berries. Just swap the cables. If they are IDE drives connected to the same wide ribbon cable, you will need to Exchange in the drive bays. That you want to create a primer must be connected to the end of the slick IDE and other intermediate connector.

Once that is done, remove the battery from the motherboard and the press/hold power button for about 30 sec force the BIOS to check the material after reinstalling the battery. Then reboot normally from the HARD disk.

If you get errors booting from the HARD disk, restart again and press F2 to go into BIOS again. Make sure that all the BIOS settings match what you wrote down or change to match. Save the changes and exit the installation program.

Assuming everything works now, try to boot from one that corresponds to your favorite optical drive.

You may need to check again drive letter assignments in Windows Management Console once it works the way you want.

Or just learn to live with it like that...

For CD/DVD, just put in the ODD (optical Dirve) and you can view them in Windows Explorer. Just double click on a file, it should appear on the default screen. Please report if you have any further questions.
