HP Envy 14 (beats): more great disc into optical drive replacement

I am trying to upgrade my HP Envy 14 after moving for Win7 to 10.

I still like the phone, but the start time, which I found was a bit slow, and I need more storage than the 750G that I currently have.

I changed the HD to a SSD, which set the start time, 500G and intend to remove the DVD drive and replace it with a HD in a caddy.

Previous forums show that it is possible to transfer the original disc to this place (currently 750G).

The questions are -:

Is that you can use a disc more?. What is the maximum? A bios upgrade would affect the possibilities?

Thank you. It's the ifo that I needed.

Running a WindowsXP Professional, I tried twice to my systems backup using the Backup Wizard. Twice tried to use advanced mode to save. I have 3 choices, first Assistant backup, Second, Assistant food and finally Assistant recovery. I clicked on the wizard of recovery of automatic systems, the wizard to create a backup of the two parts of my systems, a diskette that has my systems settings and other media that contains a backup of my score of local systems.

Twice I tried to insert a disc into my drive and started to click on column e ASR. so to start the long process of backing up my files, after almost two hours later my backup files already completed, a screen appears saying: this isn't in my Wizard floppy drive cannot create ASR inside. • Insert a disc in the drive \Device\Harddisk3\DR3?

have a vi with sub about 20 screws in his .llb that makes a fair bit of the interaction of the data base and data acquisition.

When it comes to 'entries preparation' sub vi in State "expt prep", if she is not simply close labview entirely, it gives 10 'Please insert a disc into the drive \Device\Harddisk3\DR3' errors in a row, then ends.  in fact some of the 10 are asking Harddisk4\DR4, but I still don't know what he's talking about.

very mysterious, that is if I delete as void / vi and replace it with artificial constants, it does the same thing.  I use breakpoints, step over and highlight the execution and cannot see what is causing the error, it's like there is a short circuit in the wiring itself (!).

  • Optical drive Blu - ray - XPS 8900 - where can I find out more

Recently received a XPS 8900 special edition desktop computer. Very happy so far, but there seems to be very limited user information available (the manual is pretty bare bones).

Am I missing something (calculated limited skills) but I would particularly like to see more details on the optical drive. I tried a DVD blu - ray in there, but he would not play. My understanding is that this reader reads the blu - ray, but will not write to it. It is perhaps the opposite autour?

    Thanks for any help.

The optical drive is a Blu - ray Combo that reads BD (Blu - ray) and player written on DVD/CD.

Windows 10 isn't any software built to play the DVD (Blu - ray or digital). So, you will need to find an app that plays DVDs to win 10. There are free and paid apps so do your homework. You can watch this youtube to get advice on a free Blu - ray player.

I have no experience with Blu - ray apps, so cannot recommend any one, but only to install an application from a reliable source, and don't forget to watch the download does not seek to install a lot of scrap or ad-ware and that you do not want.

  • "Please insert a disc into drive I" error message problem. Help, please!

I get the error message "Please insert a disc in the drive I" when I try to attach a drive external hard (in a case of hard disk) via a USB 2.0 to my Dell Dimension 8400 computer. I am running Windows XP Prorfessional.

When I attach an external hard drive that comes with its own enclosure as a Western Digital MyBook via the same cable USB 2.0 the following happens. Windows Explorer shows the new disks I and J. If I try to open the drive I have, I get the "Please insert a disc into drive I"message.» However, when I try to open the drive J I'm able to do it and see the files, in this case, the Western Digital MyBook. I can also open these files.

I searched the Internet for solutions to this problem. In some cases, the problem can be solved by renaming the drive letter, but this does not work in my case. Most of the sites I visited fail to provide a solution. Very many missions I've read on various sites, the problem seems to be related to error messages has Microsoft Windows. The solution would seem to have to disable this / these messages by changing the relevant parts of the registry. (See: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/logonuiexe-no-disk-there-is-no-disk-in-the-drive/7a158e14-6a56-4bfd-b1b5-796c3ccea3b0?page=2&tm=1341781513552, http://www.w7forums.com/please-insert-disc-into-drive-error-t11264p2.html, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281345)

Unfortunately, the information that I found are too vague and contradictory to me. Microsoft seems to suggest changing the value of ErrorMode in CurrentControlSet so that the user gets more no error message 'hard' (modification of the: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\ErrorMode value = 2). However, this suggestion for the backup of SQL Server databases. It also seems a bit drastic to turn off hardware error messages. In another post the suggestion is to delete upper and lower filters in the section of the registry that controls the hard drive. The problem here is that you may have to reload the software. Also, I'm afraid I'll mess up the registry.

I would be grateful to anyone who could tell me what parts of the need to register to edit and how to disable this message ' Please insert a disc in the drive I have. "

  • floppy drive please insert a disc into drive error message A

I ALSO READ THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THE FLOPPY DRIVE, DO NOT SHOW ON THE SCREEN OF DISK MANAGEMENT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APRECIATED. - THANKS.

    Hello

    Exactly what you do when you get the message "Please insert a disk in drive A;

Your cables might be backward. Some cables I've seen can be connected backwards, but normally there is a lack of female pin and/or a physical bar that stops you place the cable correctly. In case of doubt, all cables (that I saw) have an edge that is color which is the limit where pin 1 is. Your motherboard and the floppy drive (s) should also indicate what is pin 1 (sometimes with the number 1) or sometimes by an arrowhead. In addition, the end of the cable with the twist must be connected on the floppy drive.

As you have obviously been disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, you should check for twisted on the Board and the drive pins.

The device does not show in disk management, but should appear in the Device Manager.

Don't you hear the drive trying to search the diskette?

    Are your formatted diskettes?

Have you tried a new pre-formatted floppy?

I do not recommend people to use diskettes these days. The reasons include

    • reliability
    • capacity
    • convenience

Also, although I did not buy the disks for centuries, I wouldn't be surprised to see that memory sticks are cheaper than a box of diskettes and hold much more data.

I would say get a memory stick and use it instead of floppy disks.

    Tricky
