Trying to create the database with the dbca (with default settings) Wizard display the following errors:

To solve the problem after the failure of the installation:

1.
Remember that files can be replaced
2.
Copy the files:

(a) to other ORACLE_HOME patched with the Group of hotfixes required as it is recommended to Note 471765.1

(b) the software fixes group

By example to copy the files of the 10.2.0.3 Group of patches:

% cd $ORACLE_HOME, assistants, dbca, templates
% cp /Disk1/stage/Patches/oracle.rdbms.install.seeddb/10.2.0.3.0/1/DataFiles/Expanded/filegroup2 $ORACLE_HOME, assistants, dbca, templates
jar xvf - /Disk1/stage/Patches/oracle.rdbms.install.seeddb/10.2.0.3.0/1/Data/Filesfilegroup1.1.1.jar %

To avoid the problem before installing the Group of hotfixes:

Check the permissions of files under $ORACLE_HOME, assistants, dbca, models and ensure that
Oracle user will be able to replace

If you are running the x 64 version of Windows 2003 and not the Itanium version, you'll find 10.2.0.1 here:
http://www.Oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/Oracle10g/htdocs/10201winx64soft.html

You can then the patch to 10.2.0.3 by downloading the patch from Metalink.

Language in grayed when installed on the English version of Windows Server 2003

I have a problem during the installation of Adobe Reader software using the suite of packages:
Turkish AdbeRdr1010_tr_TR.exe
Turkish AdbeRdr11000_tr_TR.exe
Chinese AdbeRdr11000_zh_CN.exe
Chinese AdbeRdr1010_zh_CN.exe
Greek AdbeRdr10110_el_GR.exe
I tried to install their (a) on the Windows Server 2003 (English version). They install without error but when I try to launch them they come with the dialog box to select the English language and of required languages are unavailable / greyed out.
(For the Chinese language I 'Control Panel > regional and Language Options > languages tab > install files for East Asian languages checked ').

How can I activate these languages so that Adobe Reader software would result in the language that I need.

In the case where if someone had the same problem, here is a solution:

Go to the window > Control Panel > regional settings > Advanced tab.

Set the field under: "Select the language that matches the version of non-Unicode programs you want to use" to the language you want to use.

Apply the changes.

Windows may require a restart.

Go to Adobe reader and in language settings, change the option to choose the language at the start of adobe.

When you re-breakfast Adobe language you need should be available.

Create a second instance for Oracle 11 g on Windows Server 2008
Hi gurus.

I'm happy to be called a noob to this but could someone please help me. I would like to install\create a second instance of Oracle database on a Windows Server and I was wondering how to do this. Just use DBCA? And are there pitfalls that I should be looking out?

I did once on an OEL5 install and I had to change environmental variables, but I think that the process is much easier on a machine under Windows environment.

The question is, is Windows server 2003 32-bit, and I try to install database 11g 64 bit. I tried to install database 11g 32-bit. Before that, I erased the traces of the virtual machine in my host system and reinstalled and tried. It worked.

Tecra A10 - 12O: installing the driver network card in Windows Server 2003 R2 Std

I received 6 laptop Tecra A10 - 12O, and we need to install Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition with SP2 in all these six machines. Windows Server 2003 has been installed perfectly, but now we have only the network LAN card to work but we are unable to install its driver. When I installed Windows XP from the supplied DVD for Toshiba, it says Intel 82567V Gigabit network adapter. I tried to download the drivers for this adatpor of drivers Toshiba, Intel Web site, but it will not install in Windows Server 2003. I also tried manually force to choose and install a driver from the list, I choose that it will install but shows yellow question mark in Device Manager means that it does not work with this driver.

I also tried the same Intel 82567V drivers from some sites non-Toshiba, of these models using the same network card, but is not truck drivers at all.

I understand these laptop computers does not support Windows Server 2003, but these were ordered to be used as servers with Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and I am required to make the Installer only with activated and installed network adapter.

I try last week and exhausted all means to get the installed network adapter driver, but all have failed. Can someone please help with this? All support will be highly appreciated.

If I m not wrong Windows Server 2003 uses the same drivers as Win XP and I guess that it s driver problem not a LAN, but perhaps also the problem of Windows Server 2003 installed.

You are right; the LAN chip seems to be Intel 82567V and the LAN driver downloaded from Intel page should work 100%.

In your case, I would recommend installing the chipset driver.
Remove the LAN card from Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Then go back to Device Manager and update driver in pointing devices Manager to the place where the driver downloaded LAN was stored on the HARD drive.
