    With OEL6 and Oracle Database Linux 12.1 c

    queue is not currently

    Can someone tell me please in the right direction?

    Took forever (it's really the first time I use Oracle, no knowledge of database), but I finally got it to work, so I'll mention it right here for others to take advantage if all goes well. As I am new, some of these steps might not even be necessary, I'm not sure

    Turns, even if I have included diagrams of the sample in the installation, the only installed pattern was the Scott schema. Unfortunately, that was not the HR schema.

    You will need to download the examples of schema file and install it.

    Then follow step 1 in the following post:

    https://community.Oracle.com/message/11234394#11234394

    Who said you have to understand an Earphone for your PDB (not the PEH).

    So just add another entry for your PDB if you do not already have one in /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora #note: directory names different. Mine was too

    Important part is the (SERVICE_NAME = pdborcl) or what is called your PDB.

    Stop and start the listener:

    lsnrctl stop $

    lsnrctl start $

    Follow step 2 in the same post above to change the script of human resources which should be /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/demo/schema/human_resources/hr_main.sql

    Or, just manually change the following lines in "BOLD". In the following example I changed it to my PDB called pdbtvts:

    REM =======================================================

    Grants of REM of the sys schema

    REM =======================================================

    CONNECT sys/&pass_sys@pdbtvts AS SYSDBA;

    REM =======================================================

    REM create schema hr objects

    REM =======================================================

    CONNECT hr/&pass@pdbtvts

    Then, it is important that YOU do activate HR user having limited SESSION, otherwise you won't be able to connect. This happened to me.

    Thus, under where the user hr has permission (over these lines, us has just edit), add the line in bold below:

    GIVING CREATE SESSION, CREATE VIEW, ALTER SESSION, CREATE the SEQUENCE at the time;

    GRANT CREATE SYNONYM, CREATE DATABASE LINK, RESOURCE, UNLIMITED TABLESPACE to the hour;

    GRANT RESTRICTED SESSION on time;

    Now, you need to connect to your PDB. Connect as sysdba as usual, which by default connects you to your PIC.

    $ sqlplus / as sysdba

    You can see that you are connected to your PIC if you issue 'show con_name '.

    SQL > show con_name

    CON_NAME

    ------------------------------

    CBD$ ROOT

    Connect to your PDB by using the following command "connect sys/XXXXX@pdbtvts as sysdba" where XXXXX is your SYS password

    You must be connected to your PDB now.

    SQL > show con_name

    CON_NAME

    ------------------------------

    PDBTVTS

    Now, run the script:

    SQL > @?/demo/schema/human_resources/hr_main.sql

    You will be guests 5 things

    1 hr user password - enter a password

    2. name of the default tablespace - type "users."

    3. temporary with name - type "temp".

    4 SYS password - type your real password SYS

    5. connect directory - type in " $ORACLE_HOME /demo/schema/log/ "

    If all goes well, you will get:

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    Make sure you have things:

    SQL > select * from hr.employees;

    Really hope it works for you as it did for me. Here everything was simple for beginners luck.

  • Application of FDM - Oracle database issues

    Hello

    We use the Hyperion HFM/FDM - 11.1.1.3 application. Recently, the Oracle database server is migrated to another server with an updated release 11g and we have reconfigured all HFM/FDM application on the new database server.  But when stop us the old database, we are not able to connect to the application of the FDM. When we have verified all the XML configuration files, the code xml files have new details only of the databases.

    When connecting to the web app FDM, we got the error messages below,

    An error occurred logging system: database user ID and password are required for the connection

    Thank you

    Michel K

    Do you really go to add application, select the application, edit and enter all new database references

  • Problem establish Oracle Database Gateway for SQL Server

    I configured dblink between Oracle and SQL Server by using the 'Oracle Database Gateway for SQL Server' method.

    I use dg4odbc and freetds, suite Doc-ID 561033.1 .

    I have my isql and osql works correctly, tsql.
    But get below error when query any table/column of Oracle sql * for the sql server database.

    Select subscription_type in Address@ITSMSP;

    ORA-28511: lost RPC connection to heterogeneous remote agent using SID = ORA-28511: lost CPP
    connecting to heterogeneous remote agent to help
    SID = (Description = (Address = (Protocol = TCP)(Host=localhost) (port = 1522)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ITSM-Prod)))
    ORA-02063: preceding the line of ITSMSP

    As per below track appears after the connection is a failure.
    I get this error with each table or column selection.
    I already prepare DBlink user id and password with the double quotes and link with the apostrophe.
    One thing surprised me when I close my session it request commit or rollback.
    Although I don't do anything except select.
    I already tried by setting autocommit on, but still getting the same error.

    We create the oracle for sql server before database gateway. This time, few things are different:
    1. the name of the server (on sql server database) contains a '-' hyphen.
    2. name of database server Sql contain also one '-' hyphen.
    2 sql database server for windows 64 - bit OS, prior, we used 32 bits.

    Please let me know if anyone set the Oracle database gateway using dg4odbc and freetds to sql server where the database of sql server resident in 64-bit windows machine.

    Here's the snapshot trace: remove the server name with *.

    Hello
    Thanks for the information. 2.2 UnixODBC driver manager is quite old and there is now one more late 2.3.1 version available here.

    http://www.unixODBC.org/

    by clicking on the tab "Download".
    Can you download and install this version then use in the configuration instead of the 2.2 version?

    Kind regards
    Mike

  • Best idea practice; PDF forms to the Oracle database idea?

    Work on a kind of checklist of the form

    Most of the items is "Compliant", "Non-compliant", "not applicable".

    So with check all three boxes labeled 'item2' I get the behavior I want. Specifically, there are three options, but only one is allowed.

    Currently, the plan is to complete the document, save and print or send an email. So far so good.

    BUT...

    In the long run, it would be that data will by electronic mail in a format to an Oracle database.

    Question:

    What kind of logic should be fixed (and where) as 'for 'item2' choice of a single and even a universe of 3's [reply]

    I guess Javascript (not well versed in the present yet), but is there something simpler?

    Thank you

    Giving all the check boxes in the Group of the same name is the right approach.

    You must also give a unique export value in each box. This allows you to identify which box has been ticked. When the data is exported, the value of the field will be the value of exports from the enabled checkbox.

    If none of the check boxes in the group is selected, the field value will be equal to the string 'Off', but not 'off', false, or anything else.

  • Make case-insensitive oracle database

    Hi all

    I use oracle 10g EE that my front end and database backend is in c# .NET. I want to make my oracle database to perform any case comparison insensibly. I searched the net and found several ways to achieve

    1. use the upper function in procedures - cannot afford
    2. order of the function - cannot afford
    3. setting session parameters

    ALTER SESSION SET NLS_COMP = ANSI;
    ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT = BINARY_CI;

    The 3rd is promising and can save a lot of time. I have several question

    1 is there a way I can adjust these settings in .NET?
    2 is it possible I can set both and will do only my case insensitive database?

    any link, reference is very appreciated.

    Thank you

    You can create a unique index of the feature based on this column to avoid that these records.

    I don't see that should be case-insensitive database here.

  • Turning to Oracle RAC to the only Oracle database

    Hi all

    We are responsible for "make a copy" of Oracle RAC database a customer and our plan is to finish with the FCAC and allows you to host a new unique Oracle database. Very few of us familiar with CARS and looking for suggestions on how to do it (without affecting the source JAR).

    Can take a full expdb of the source database and simply use impdp to import into the standalone database server?

    Comments/suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Can take a full expdb of the source database and simply use impdp to import into the standalone database server?

    It is an option. Data pump does not care if the source and/or destination is CARS or a mix. If the database is too large, it can take a lot of time to complete.

    Another option is to use the DOUBLE of RMAN feature. And another option is to restore the database from a backup.

    See you soon,.

  • two node Oracle RAC with two Oracle databases completely different on each node?

    We currently have two different applications that use Oracle databases.  Current configuration is two different oracle homes dbhome_1, dbhome2 with separate mounting LINUX points containing the Oracle homes and *.dbf files on a single host server.

    Previously, the idea was to set up a second server identical host configured as a 'data guard' for both of these databases.  Now, management wants to implement a cluster of CARS of two nodes, with each node running two databases.  With the Standard edition.

    I only did CARS of high availability and scalability for a single database.  Is it possible to run two completely different databases Oracle on a two-node RAC cluster?  I am inclined to think that they it has divided into

    two clusters RAC to two nodes on four small servers host.  Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated?

    Is it possible to run two completely different databases Oracle on a two-node RAC cluster?

    The short answer is Yes... it is possible.  It will work without any problem, as long as you have the resources available to an additional database.

    I am inclined to think that they it has divided into two clusters RAC to two nodes on four small servers host.

    There is another option.  In the past I have two databases on a RAC cluster that has been implemented for reasons of cost of license / (I don't think that this applies to itself, but you will need to check).

    However having seen on separate hosts that you have only potentially interruptions of service on a database if you decide to do something like upgrading from one of the databases and thus upgrade the GI as well.  This would mean interruptions in service for all your databases using the GI.

  • where can I get the software for oracle database 11g RAC installion

    pls can someone tell me where to download the installation software for oracle database 11g RAC with Yes which has the option of installing RAC database on, I the installation of database 11g software, but it does not include the installation of database RAC inside option, I heard someone say that the installer of oracle database 11g in oracle's Web site is not used to install a RAC database is it true? Hi Experts,

    1 can you please let me know why we need to set up under IP addresses for the RAC configuration and what is the role that each plays?

    -Public

    Configured before installation for each node and can be resolved at this node before installing.
    Role:
    Enable Virtual/SCAN configuration/communication between the nodes in the cluster. Do not start the Clusterware without public IP Interface/address.
    Virtual/SCAN will work as an alias IP on the public Interface on the Public network.

    -Private or interconnection

    Configured before installation, but on a separate private network, with its own subnet, which is not resolved except by other nodes in the cluster member
    Role:
    Clusterware uses for cluster synchronization (network heartbeat) interconnection and communication of demon among the nodes in the cluster.
    RAC uses the interconnect for cache fusion (UDP) and inter-process communication (TCP).
    Cache Fusion is the remote Oracle buffers, shared memory mapping between the caches of the members of the cluster nodes.

    -Virtual

    Configured before installation for each node, but not currently in use. IP, VIP and treats public SCAN addresses than any other addresses on the same subnet.
    Role:
    The goal is the availability of the applications. If add or remove nodes as your remove VIP client config (with SCAN, it is not necessary)
    When a node fails, the VIP associated with it is automatically failed over to another node.
    Without using VIPs or FAN, clients connected to a node who died often wait a TCP timeout (which can be up to 10 min) before getting an error.
    So, you don't have really a good HA solution without using VIPs and FAN. The best way to use the FAN is to use a client integrated with fast connection failover (FCF) such as JDBC, OCI, or ODP.NET.

    -SCAN

    Three static IP addresses that are configured on the server (DNS) domain names prior to installation so that the three IP addresses are associated with the name provided as the SCAN, and all three addresses are returned in random order by the DNS to the applicant
    Configured prior to installation in the DNS to resolve the addresses that are not currently in use. Addresses on the same subnet than all other IP addresses, addresses VIP and public SCAN
    Role:
    The goal is the availability of the applications before clients establish communication with CARS and make the whole of the Cluster completely transparent.
    IP SCANNER is a new 'layer' (oracle) with high availability network that allows to modify the characteristics of your cluster (IE add/remove nodes) without having to change the configuration in their concept of customers 'grid '.
    >

    2. What is the relationship between IP SCAN and virtual IPs?

    IP SCANNER is used to receive new connection requests and redirects to the VIP IP.
    The virtual IP address sets and allow failover of connections after connection is established.

    When the client requests a connection, Oracle Client 11 GR 2 find for IP addresses and create a list of all IP SCAN available for this host-scan, the first attempt to connect to RAC uses one of the available SCAN IP addresses.
    The listener ANALYSIS will receive this connection and re - direct to one of the available using LOCAL_LISTENER nodes from that time the connection is made by using the virtual IP (VIP).

    All SCAN/VIP must be resolved by the DNS.

    The customer knows that there is only the Hostname SCAN, which is configured in the connection string.
    Once the connection is requested Oracle Clusterware redirects the connection to one of the VIP host name must be resolved by the DNS.

  • New Oracle Database 12 c Maximum availability Certified Expert Certification does NOT have its own review?

    Hello

    Someone told me that there is a new Oracle 12 c availability maximum expert certification exam.

    But I don't see any number of review for her.

    Thank you Roger

    It is not a review of these credentials.  It is a 'bonus' credential you receive if you get three other certifications:

    12 c of Oracle Certified Professional database administrator

    Oracle Certified Expert 12 c Data Guard Administration

    Oracle Certified Expert 12 c RAC and grid Infrastructure of Administration
