Orphanage Owl error message: Photoshop:exe - bad Image

I have this error with Adobe Photoshop CS5.

With reading the other posts, I found an answer to this same question posted - except with CS4.

He mentions the file plug-in and 32 and 64-bit. Here is where I get confused.

I parked plug-ins CS3 and put them in my CS5 plug in folder, which is where the problem came. How can I clean my mess now?

I have no idea how know what is happening with 32-bit and what is happening with 64-bit... You could say, I do not know my songs and you would be right. Laughing out loud

Help, please. I have benn ignore him for almost a year now.

I parked plug-ins CS3 and put them in my CS5 plug in folder, which is where the problem came.

No doubt.

Remove all the plugins that have a date older than the CS5 plugins.

And do not copy photoshop plugins from one version to another - many of them will depend on what is the specific version.  And while we try to test for problems of version, we can always test in the future :-).

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. when exactly this error occurs?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if it helps.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. During these 10 days, it will remove all the files infected by the virus and records. I suggest you create a backup of your data, and then install Microsoft Safety Scanner.

    Method 2:

Put your computer in a clean boot state to identify the application at the root of this problem.

Place your computer in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Hope the information is useful.

Do you have an idea what is happening with my computer and what I can do to fix this?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi deacon829,

You did changes to the computer before that happened?

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, to do this, follow the steps below,

Access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. In the advanced startup options select safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2: If you try to install any application before this program, try to uninstall them.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program

If this solves the problem, you can deduct that the demand is probably corrupted, damaged or incompatible. You can check with the manufacturer of the program for more information.

Step 3: System Restore: System Restore to put the computer's system files to an earlier point in time.

Look for steps to restore of the system in the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

    If the problem persists,

Step 4: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct

    Hi Christophe,

This problem may occur due to the infection by the virus or because of conflicts between the third-party applications.

Have you done with the latest changes on the computer before this problem.

    Method 1:
I suggest you run an antivirus scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner to confirm that your computer is free from any infection by the virus. Please find the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Note:

    (1) data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    (2) the Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection.

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, I suggest to start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem occurs or not. If the problem does not occur in mode safe run clean boot and check if it helps.

    Step 1:
I suggest you to return the item and check if it helps.

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

    Step 2:
If the issue occur not in Mode safe run clean boot and check.

Affecting the system in a clean boot state will help you determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to perform a clean boot for a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Try the suggestion of Azam K.  If this help not to do the following:

    https://community.McAfee.com/message/208529

McAfee should have disabled Windows Defender.  If not, or if you did turn back on, you must turn it off.  http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off   Windows Defender cannot be uninstalled from the Vista OS, but can be disabled to avoid conflict with other programs.

You will probably need to uninstall Flash and reinstall it: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/

I don't really like to make a negative comment on an anti-malware program, but McAfee has a reputation for sometimes bogged down operating systems.  If your problem persists, you will need to uninstall McAfee (to include using the McAfee removal tool) and see if that has any impact on your computer problems.  If there is an improvement, you may consider trying another program BC

Started having a problem with the calibration of color (DataColor Spyder).  When I try to run the program, I get a message "ProfileChooser.exe - bad Image", followed by C;\Windows\systewm32\ODBC32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try reinstalling the program...  DataColor can't identify the problem; and I just noticed that I get similar messages when I plug in an external drive SeaGate.  I have tried ScanNow, System Restore, registry cleaners, removal/replacement of ODBC - 32.dll, remove and reinstall the calibration software, etc.  I'll try a backup, but it does not :-(  Suggestions welcome!

For anyone with a similar problem, this repair worked. I got a copy of Win 7 Home Premium retail and he ran like an 'upgrade' on my Dell laptop.  When installing asked the "product code", I used the OEM code on the underside of the computer instead of the code provided with the software.  Almost everything came as it was before. just the wallpaper needed to be reset to zero and a lot of updates to do.  In retrospect, I think I could have upgraded to Win 7 Professional without any problem.
