• Toshiba P10 504 does not start!

  After running my P10 to 80% battery and close the cover (which would normally have no effect I ve turn all modes of hibernation and power saving off) he fell :( Now when I turn on the blue light comes on and fan goes and HD or DVD drive starts to make various noises. But, there is no display at all and it will not respond to all keys including the function key to try to change the mode of monitoring. Any help would be appreciated but I m guessing I got to return.

  Hi all

  I have problems with my computer laptop satellite P10 504 series, I recently had to reinstall windows xp professional on my laptop, and since I had no usb recognision.

  all devices (disks to flash memory, wireless usb devices) all show the power on the power light, but windows does not detect the new hardware, I reinstalled now twice thinking it was a faulty installation but not luck...

  OS: XP Professional SP2

  I have no recovery / tools and utilities cd since they disappeared, downloaded all the drivers from the toshiba website, even tried using the latest chipset drivers intel on the NET, but none seems not to work...

  I just had to replace the hard drive in my P10 504 and I now have a lot of problems!

  1. I used the restore disks and XP Home Edition is installed, BUT the video, modem, and SM all spotted in Control Panel and do not installed the drivers from bus controller! The modem, I can live without, but I would like that the video works properly and the SM bus controller is also pretty essential. Guess what, I can't
  (a) find my model listed on the Toshiba site and
  (b) I can't find the drivers for the video or the SM bus controller.

  I downloaded the 'universal' Nvidia driver, but it does not work! Regarding the SM bus controller, I have no idea where to look!
  Any ideas please?

• Satellite P10-504 - Defrag does not work properly

  HI all, I am a little concerned about my defrag report.

  When analyzing, the first third is mainly blue with thin red lines, the rest is white with massive two bits of green and red lines. After defragmentation it looks any better, said the report that 10 GB couldn't be moved doc/settings and a lot of little things.
  No matter how many times I defragment I get the same results and although I analyze after defrag it says always defragment now.

  I tried the Windows tools to repair bad sectors, but nothing helped. I would say just having said all that, the computer even if a bit slow seems to work ok, with no real problems but would like advice

  I'm having difficulties with my P10-504. I plug my charger to the rear of the unit and nothing happens. No lights come on at the front and no charge or turn on the power to the laptop.

  I have some charge left in the battery and it shows that the computer is operating from battery (battery) power and no power.

  I have a Toshiba P10-304 and its going a bit mental fact lately.

  I am running XP Pro and basically it started crashing frequently and then later he came up with the error: media test failure, check, etc.. So, I thought that the hard drive was dead. Since then, I bought a new hard drive (seagate momentus) and formatted correctly and worked fine for 2 days. But now the 3rd day, he began to display similar symptoms like my old toshiba oem drive.
