  I am running Windows Vista SP1 on a laptop HP Pavilion.  I would like to use a TV high definition as an external display for slideshows read and other audi/visual media on the mobile phone.

  I connected the laptop and the TV via their HDMI ports with a HDMI cable and I get a very good quality image on the TV, but no sound.

  I used all the options on the TV for audio and everything seems OK.  So, I suspect that the problem is at the end of the computer.  Does anyone have suggestions for how I might solve the problem?

  Many DAQ cards provides a constant voltage of + 5V output.  DAQ hardware do you use, and there a such output?  If so, use instead.  It will manage a current higher than an analog output.  The analog output lines are not designed to power no matter what, they are purely for signalling.

  And the answer is: I had installed the latest drivers (and thanks to response above realize did not need graphics driver, although the HP site indicated as well), BUT the HDMI audio driver does not appear until I plugged in the TV, duh... I was not expecting to see the disconnected HDMI option  Once I have connected to the TV, it seemed. Subsequently, it does not show as a disconnected option.

  Lesson learned: after reinstallig, connect to the TV.

  Good so I have this laptop Dell XPS L502X that I bought in 2012. The laptop provided with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Edition.

  His output HDMI for my Sony LED used previously to work properly.

  But there are a few months that those offered by Microsoft, I upgraded my OS from Windows 7 Home edition to Windows Home Edition 10 laptop.  Since the upgrade, everything worked fine except I don't get HDMI output to my TV.

  I am happy to update this thread, the problem of my laptop screen is displayed using HDMI on my Sony TV, solved on its own with the last update for Windows 10 which includes the OS 1607 version build: 14393.187

  To all of you who always fights for the configuration of HDMI output for their laptop to the television after upgrade to Windows 10, I'm sure that the last Windows Update will solve the problem.

  I have Lenovo N500 42334 CG which provided nice output HDMI connected via a cable HDMI for TV LCD today, I tried to log in again, but unfortunately there is no video / audio on television the HDMI Lenovo, tried changing the HDMI sockets on my TV without success. BIOS reported by Lenovo diganostics is 6GET19ww (for the non-HDMI), even an inappropriated BIOS update has been installed on my Lenovo such that does not support HDMI output port more?   problem solved, apparently bios was WITHOUT HDMI, so go back to the previous bios resolved the issue. This message can be closed.

• Output HDMI on my HD TV no longer works

  I have my PC running Windows 7 Ultimate Desktop connected to a standard desktop VGA monitor - more to my HDTV via HDMI. I had this Setup with an extended desktop so that I could watch videos on the big screen. However, today, I shut down my PC to move and now that I have started it back up my HDTV is no longer find any HDMI signal. I double checked all connections. The HDMI cable has been tested and works fine on other equipment. I did a system restore and it didn't solve it. I also made sure my graphics card is up to date. I am now at a total loss.

  I had this problem a few times before when I got but have always been able to resolve simply to shut down the PC and go back to the top. However, this simple fix does not work and I searched the internet to find a solution without a bit of luck. What I've read, it seems to be and issue with other people too. However, I wasn't able to track down a way to settle this.

  I agree with Feliks if the TV supports different HDMI ports, you must make sure that the TV has been set to the correct HDMI port.
  Choose in the settings of the TV the HDMI port and then you can use Fn + F5 to switch to the TV output.

  Well it starts to drive me to distraction and Im hoping that theres someone who can put me out of my missery lol.

  I tried to connect my laptop (toshiba satellite pro p300) up to my LCD TV via the same HDMI cable that I use for my PS3 but the connector does not simply. I keep finding all these messages in various forums saying how they can't get the HDMI connection... that would be great, at least, this means that they were connected.

  Are there different links for the HDMI? The one I have is diagonal connector but the port on the laptop is more square and just doesn't fit. So, if it is not a connector, does that mean I have a funky port on the laptop.

  There is also the issue of connecting my laptop to my amp which controls the surround sound system. Which link is best to use, as there is no real connections audio output?

  Can you please tell us what Satellite Pro P300 you have exactly? I mean the exact model number.
  Maybe you can also post a picture of the HDMI port. Normally there is no different HDMI port, all have the same physical size.
  I m PS3 not owner, but maybe he has a special connector. Have you tried another cable?

  Regarding the audio connection I use the normal line of output port to my external speakers. Have you tested this?
