Paginate in PC... advice on such a pre-built gtx1080 system?

I am currently using a MBP 2012 and do the jump on a desktop PC this month... want just some thoughts more experienced...

What do you think of a game system pre-built like this (with the new gtx1080 card) for all the days of After Effects and Premiere Pro work?

Game system Assassin 1080 PCCG [PCCG-ASSASSIN1080]: case PC Gear

(The only thing I would change is the RAM (from 16 GB to 32 GB), but I don't know yet if it's possible because I'm still learning what is compatible with what atm)

Another local place gave me a quote for a similar system using a 6700K, the 980Ti, the motherboard i7 cheaper, the 32 GB, power 950W... but it's almost $1000 more... and I'm not sure if I'm missing something with that price difference?

Thanks for any thoughts.

At this point, it would be a total waste of money to get a GTX 1080 ' cos not even support a single program and probably even future versions of CC 2016 will not be in their original versions. Use of AE on this side of the GPU acceleration is limited because it has always been, and even in Premiere Pro you can see not much difference between the cheapest and most expensive GPU because you never have to a point where this would be necessary. At least in the graphics Department is seriously specced too. You can easily get a 970 males and save almost 700 GTX on that alone. The rest will depend on. More expensive motherboards tend simply to have more controllers as additional 3 USB ports, hardware integrated RAID or even a way complete additional PCIx for additional cards, most of which you probably never use, in any case. More memory on the other hand never did wrong, so definitely get 32 GB. Everything else that we do not really know. A lot of price differences down to where a seller gets his stuff. Major outputs often use in bulk ware directly to manufacturers and their supply chains and due to the mass get huge reductions while local retailers usually depend on using versions nicely packaged at retail, which are more expensive initially.

    Hello

I have an oldschool pre-constructed Dell I tried to fix up for my wife. The vehicle currently has Windows XP, I'm looking to improve this.
I bought a key license Pro Windows 8.1, then downloaded the ISO directly from Microsoft software.

I burned the ISO to a disc and tried to boot from the disk.
He managed to start the Windows Logo appears, but after a few minutes, before he gives me all the options, I get an error message and have to restart. This happens every time.

I have more then the minimum specifications required for 8.1.

I've never dealt with OEM software before and my new driver's license is an OEM key (not that I even got to the step to use it), but I wonder if the OEM of XP is what is causing my problems.

I'm a PC Builder, avoiding the pre built, but as this has been given to me, I could not say no, but I haven't tried messing around with a considered before, so don't know if she permettai in place to stop the upgrade.

    Any information would be appreciated.

    Hello

Do the following before upgrade you to Windows 8.1.

Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8.1 drivers available for your model.

If this is not available, Windows 8/8.1 not install and work properly for you.

  • Pre-built SQLite Database faster than the construction of the tables?

    Hello.

This time when running my application for the first time, about 12 SQLite tables are created programmatically, each containing anywhere from 7 to 45 fields. Timing of the launch of the app, a call to a web service also serves the database.

I noticed that the table under construction seems quite slow, I don't know if it's just because the application runs for the first time and the device must perform some work of registry, or if the table of construction process is actually this takes time.

From the time I click my app icon at a time that the user interface is displayed with actual data can last from 20 seconds to more than a minute, which is not good. Do I have to create a progress meter to indicate the user to be patient because the database tables will be created, or is it possible to include the database pre-built with my app? If so how would access (where he would be on the filesystem?).

    Thank you very much.

"If the process of construction is in fact this long"

That would be my bet.  Easy for you, but check with trace entries.

"Can I create a progress indicator.

You should have a flag indicating to the user that you are doing something at least, a kind of circular icon loading would be better than nothing.  If you it can match real progress or not depends on what you are tracking and how.

"is there a way to include the database pre-built with my app"

Yes - See the demo of SQL comes with your set of tools.

  • Can I create new database HCM92 on pre-built VM?

    Hello

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a vacuum HCM of the database on the pre-built VM provided by oracle? If so, how to accomplish this?

    Thank you!

OK, if the virtual machine is interesting at several points, I would definitely go for an installation of Peoplesoft to start from scratch and go further in the investigation, why you are facing problems. You'll learn very probably more this way. You can obviously learn delivered virtual machines but I would be careful, they are given by Oracle to fine details and as I said above, you can have a few scripts 'missing'... they also have their own structure, their own scripts to start with the peculiarities of the VM...

  • Palm Pre has no system sounds

My husband and I have 2 nine Pre - his sounds system (dragging objects etc.) and mine does not work!  I played with it a bit - but I don't remember ever making sounds, and I was surprised to hear her do it!

Any way to reset zero/restore these sounds?

I know that there is a bug with this. Try this. Go to your options of sounds & ringtones. Completely mount the system sounds. You may not notice anything else yet (this is the bug). Now, restart the phone. (Orange key key Sym + R key) Now, open an application and drag the map, should work. Now you can go in your sounds ringtones & again once and move this slider even back down if you want low enough other sounds like the Dialer buttons. You swoosh sound will always be strong. All this usually resets if you restart still sometimes. And have to redo the steps.

  • Not in line extends from pre-built DS2DB model without database and systems of DS2?

After a lot of work (mostly struggling with Windows since I was a UNIX Guy: errors with Exchange 2007 starts do not transport hub because IPv6 has been disabled, STAF, refusing on W2K8 connections due to firewall Windows and another problem, I'll post separately on about DB restorations that occur on systems OlioDB) (, OlioWeb, DS2Web * and DS2DB, where I had to modify the xml file for the root directory cd) I was finally able to run a number of tests on 1, 2 and 3 tiles.

However, I see a weird behavior with the DS2DB system.

First of all, the pre-built model does NOT contain a database... you must go through the guide to create (Page 121)... I've lost at least a day to diagnose a non-compliant execution which showed to 0 for all the stuff of DS2 and it was because I thought there was a database (it is for olive oil) but there is no, and the scripts just go on their way (even if the restoration of DS2DB specifically indicates an error indicating that the DS2 (, there is no database)... it would have been nice to have that in the documentation, unless I'm missing something (please don't say if I AM).

Secondly, I had a few compliant and non-compliant results due to the number of QoS on the DS2DB. I started to try to debug using MySQL to see what could be the problem and it seems to be related to the CUST_HIST within DS2 table. Sometimes, it will take 2 minutes to reload (at the beginning of the trial) the DS2DB (running ConfigServer_DS2db.sh), other times, it could take 20 to 30 minutes. Usually when the refill is quick, the results of the tests are in line... when recharging takes a lot of time, I get the test results non-compliant due to the extent of QoS (about 500).

I tried to re-cloning systems, and moving it to differerent storage but I can't find a pattern at this point.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Thank you.

PG 55, step 4.  You must create the database after the implementation of the model.  The virtual machine is too large to distribute with a pre-defined DB.

The restoration will take about 20-30 minutes if you have a dirty DB from a time 3 runs (most of that time is in the table CUST_HIST).  I have spent a LOT of time trying to accelerate without success (only solution seems to be using MySQL 5.1 with partitions, planned for a later version). It will take about 2 minutes if the DB is already clean.

What is your storage space for DB DS2? It's quite intensive disk.

What do you get if you just run a single web interface manually?

    ds2webdriver - target = - n_threads = 10 - db_size = 20 GB - think_time = 0.085

Also check that you have not run out of disk space on the VM DB.  This can occur if you are running for a long time or do several courses without restore.

  • Pre-built virtual machine with OBIEE and APEX

    Hi all

I searched for a virtual machine with OBIEE and APEX pre-installed, but I can't find it... or information messages on this subject. Does anyone know if y at - it a selection of pre-designed developer programs VM with these two tools?
I currently have the "database App Development VM' with APEX in there, but I can't understand how to install OBIEE inside.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Please, if this is not the right category where I should ask the question, let me know and I'll move it.

    Thank you.
    Elena.

PL see deployment guide in the link above - the model of computer virtual includes version of database 11.2.0.3, which should be the APEX installed by default in it. If this isn't the case, it will be much easier to install the APEX in the VM OBIEE.

  • How to mount a photo gallery pre-built in a 800 x 600 box?

    Hi all.

    I downloaded a .fla pre-defined Gallery (570 x 350) this http://www.flashmagazine.com/Tutorials/detail/as3_photo_gallery/ lesson to insert in my project (800 x 600).

I don't understand where the difficulty of fit on my site.

I copy the fotograms and AS3 code of the original file and stick it on mine (I used only 10images), it works, but I don't know where I can solve this problem:

    (1) the Gallery is on the menu and I want to keep in the Center.

    gall.jpg

    (2) if I click on the image (randomly) the result is the same, I have the picture on the menu, and I should like to focus

    doggall.jpg

The code is AS3 and available here http://www.Flashmagazine.com/tutorials/detail/as3_photo_gallery/

    Thanks for the help.

Because the Gallery is created dynamically, it doesn't have a clean house in the timeline panel.  You will need to do is place an empty movieclip on the stage in the gallery section.  Place it on the left edge of the scene where you want the top of the thumbs and give it an instance name, 'sprite' would be good because it will save you a recoding.  Then, you want to remove the code that dynamically creates the "leprechaun".  See if you can understand this part.

  • Advice of failure - time for an update system - Qosmio G15 HARD drive please

    Hey people,

Thus, it seems that my C drive died on my G15. I managed to recover most of my data and I am always under scans now. However, I don't think that I can trust the machine and bought a new hard drive. Now things are messy to messier.

Apparently it's quite easy to do a refresh of the system if you have a few CD of restoration that is supposed to come with the machine.
However the only my laptop recovery CD came with the recovery of Qosmio player is. Not very useful given that I do not use the player in any case.

So I wonder now what is my best bet? I have been open to trying Linux, or would like to come back to Win 2 K.
However, it seems that most of the drivers is for Win XP?

Because I don't have the recovery disc, it seems that I can go there with regular XP Pro. Who's going to be a problem? Also there are tons of drivers on the Toshiba site. Are there best practices for how they all need to go? I came across some threads here that suggests that the drivers must be installed in a very special way. I also noticed that some discussions referred to threads that detail the process of installing XP, but I could not find these discussions.

I am quite computer literate and know what I'm doing. But I want to get this right on the first attempt, not the 3rd or 4th or 5th etc... I need this machine to turn as soon as possible so I can get back to work. I already spent a week doing the scans in the car and trying to recover the data that I can.

I got really excited when I discovered there was a recovery of the G15 disc, and I might be able to do a faster refresh than I thought. Then very disappointed when I discovered that I never had one of these recovery discs with my cpu!

Thanks for any help you can offer!

  • need advice about the responsiveness of the file system

I am writing an application that retrieves data from a url and stores it in the file system (under /store for now, but perhaps under /sdcard later). When I need to get out over http, the application always displays a message of 'work' and does the job in another thread. This way at least the user knows the app is not dead (or at least has that impression ). The worker thread invokes an executable to clear the message when it is done or encounters an error.

When the application needs to do something about the local file system only, the situation looks different. The amount of work is not always very well - read or write a small (1-2KB) file, delete a file, etc.. In the Simulator, this seems to happen fairly quickly that the message of 'work' to the top of long enough not to be read. So I tried to do the job directly in the case where the wire and everything seems all right, at least on the Simulator.

I read that the performance of the file system on real devices is slower than in the Simulator. The question I have is: how much slower? Are slow enough real devices for simple file operations that I should stay with the worker thread and a message of 'work '? The goal here is to prevent the user to ask if the app is dead. I realize that I could use a worker thread just to be safe, but I reduced on the complexity of its use and unnecessary code thread.

Compared to the Simulator, all devices will be slow.  My experience with small files on the device indicates that looking to the answer for the second time with readings being the faster of course.

I tried to figure out not only what to buy but how.  Whenever I have to "build" a system on Dell.com, it comes out a different price.  I get emails from Dell on promotions and coupons, but none of them work on what I want.  For example, the coupon was for Inspiron with Vista 64 bit, and I wanted 32-bit because I know how bad 64 can be.

Costco online offers pre-built Dell systems.  Anyone know about the service?  Would it be the same – through Dell?

  • Compare OBIEE Java-based reports

    Hi all

Due to many misconceptions, my current client thinks that many of their problems is solved by simply removing OBIEE and write all the reports in Java.
Certain requirements are unrealistic to ask for OBIEE and some are well... limits.
The client asked us to give reasons why it should always be on OBIEE. Has anyone done a comparison between based on Java reports and OBIEE (or any tool of BI)?
Reasons why OBIEE distinguishes would also help.

    Thank you all!

There are a lot, a lot of reasons why use OBIEE. One of the biggest reasons being, you don't need to know everything about Java to build a report of the response.

I've been asked me a similar question in the past, to compare OBIEE versus Java based ADF. My answer is that they have two completely different objectives.

-OBIEE is user/middle-end user by dashboards and ad-hoc analyses.
-Java/ADF for power-users for pre-built reports systems. (forgive me, but I don't know the ad hoc features of Java/ADF)

If your client has java resources full time to engage in creating and maintaining a Java environment, then by all means they should probably go that route. But do not forget that as new uses like data different layouts and different data sets, your team of java will quickly become overloaded.

OBIEE relieves the pressure on the team of java (IT) and provides the end users with fly relatively casual relationships with support it.

Yes, OBIEE do have limits, but always keep in mind that a) is a special dashboard framework and not a framework for ad hoc java which has a lot more flexibility, but requires a much more technical skill b) there is a major release of OBIEE (11 g) just around the corner that will change the game in terms of how OBIEE can be used. You should have your customer to stay on board until they can at least see what's new.

Good luck and if you found this post useful, please give points!

    Best regards

    -Joe
