  I have a Zire m150 I mainly used as an address book. All was well with HotSynching my Zire with my laptop XP Home until two things happened. My husband bought me a new PC with XP Pro and I realized that my Zire battery was totally dead. So I recharged the battery and it seems that I've lost all addresses. Then I tried to HotSync the Zire with my XP Home on my old laptop. The Zire goes through all the steps for HotSync and said that everything is synchronized, but when I check it, there is nothing of the laptop. No address on my Zire. It seems it would be easy to HotSync my Zire with my old laptop, and then HotSync with my new PC. Help! I'm so frustrated and don't want to retype all those addresses! I'm not particularly tech fan, but may well follow the directions! Thanks for any help.

  First of all allows to check and see if you have more than one username in Palm Desktop. To make this opening Palm Desktop and in the upper right corner, you should see a user name. Click the menu drop down and see if there is more than one. If If hard reset your device by going here http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887. Then re-sync and when it asks you to choose the username that has your address in Palm Desktop.

  If this is not the case, go next to your clock on your PC and look for the hotsync Manager. Do a right click on it and go to custom. Then go to the address or contacts. And select Edit. Do the so-called Office replaces handheld. It will have an arrow pointing from the computer to a device. Be sure it's from the PC to the device. If it is the opposite case, it will delete all your data from your PC. Synchronize and see if your data is there.

• Palm Zire 71 works only with Windows Vista

  I recently updated a program that I use on my desktop and sync with my Palm Zire 71. To get the new update on my Palm, I tried to use Palm quick install. I believe that this does not work with Windows Vista!  What are my options?  I don't know how to get this update on my Palm so that I can synchronize my data between my desktop and Palm Zire 71. Any suggestions for this?

  Have you tried right clicking on the shortcut to quick setup, or the .exe and select "Run As Administrator"?

• Software for Palm Zire M150

  I have a new PC with Windows 8.  I want to get the software for my Palm Zire M150 so I can load on my new PC.  Where can I get the software to download?  I want to put the Palm Desktop on this new computer.  Or do you know another more recent software I can load which would take the data already, I have on my old PC and install it on my new?  Is there such a thing out there?

• Palm zire 22 - loss of data from PC with Windows Vista

  I use a Palm Zire with access as a desktop operating system.

  First of all, I noticed that all 8 categories (which have been configured before) were lost in the address book, including about 500 items (incl. contact information.) in a list of about 2000 Articles.

  Today I discovered that all the data I inserted in my book since November 2008 Date disappeared.

  I have all the data to date in my pocket, but before I do I synchronize from your handheld to the desktop, I want to know what happens!

  If all your current information is on your handheld, all you need to do is to remove the user name on your Palm to do desktop software:

  Make a left click on the drop-down list arrow the user name in the upper right palm desktop

  then left click Modify user, in the edit user window, select your user name and click on remove

  Once you have no username, create a new user name and a name like "test", and then click OK

  so, right now, just test as a username.

  Back to your handheld device:

  Check the username of your handheld in the upper right corner on the window of hotsync your device. Once you do a hotsync that your computer will ask that you create an account on this pc, just click on Yes and all your information on the handheld device will be transferred to your pc, including categories.

• Palm Zire 71 - never used - not charging

  I have a brand new never been opened Palm Zire 71.  Attempted to load, bolt was there, battery showed as Manager.  As soon as I remove the Palm of the charging unit, lights out.  Assuming that it is the internal battery - because he was never charged and I guess that the Zire 71 is a few years old, the battery would not be good of no use?  How to replace the battery internal/fix the problem?  Thank you very much!

  Plug handheld into the charger and let it charge at least 24 hours. Try and turn on your handheld. If it still does not power on without the charger, the battery may be discharged too.

  There are several sites that have the spare battery to replace the battery, and some have instructions on how to replace the battery.

  Here is a link to a site that has the battery and tools needed to remove the battery. There are also instructions on how to remove the battery. It indicates that the battery is for a Zire 72, but it also lists compatible Zire 71.

  The computer does not recognize the device. It's like the USB port isn't there.  Nothing wrong with the port or connections.  Is this a compatibility issue with Windows 7 and the Palm Zire 71?

  Palm Zire 71 is compatible with Windows 7 32 - bit system but incompatible with the 64-bit system.

  I suggest to uninstall the installed driver for Palm Zire 71 software and reinstall them using once more.

  The old "battery reset" procedure was to connect the charger, then press the Reset button at the back.

  Let charge for a few hours, then check.  If still no joy, I would say that they have been roasted.

• Need Driver for Palm Zire 71 Dock

  I need a driver for my Palm Zire 71 dock. I don't have the original disc.

  When I press the sorce button, nothing happens.

  I have download one to transfer data from the computer to the Palm.

  I have windows XP Pro Service pack 2 as W\, I have Vista on my laptop

  Well, I did everything in the troubleshooting and nothing.

  When I open and close the camera, it doesn't do a hard reset. I'm guessing that the last owner has let him down.

  I'll take it apart and see if there is any loose wires.

  To remove an application or game that you have installed specifically, just turn on your Palm and on the screen of the Launcher (the one with all the icons) butcher the top left corner of the screen to open the 'Pull Down Menu'.

  You will see an option called 'delete '.  Touch it and then scroll down to the program you want to go.  When it is highlighted, press the button 'Delete' at the bottom of the screen.  Fact!

• 3 Palm hotsync problem

  I just got a Palm 3 last night and tried to hotsync since then. I tried chat Palm which did not help someone in this forum can guide me. I have xp home edition on a dell demision.

  When I try to hotsync, it says cannot communicate with my computer or the modem not hung. I think I need to make sure that my Palms reads the correct port to office? IF it is correct how do that?

  Any help will be appreciated. If my message is meaningless I will correct it when I get home from work. My Palm came with a disc, but I used it I used Palm download program, the disc does not load for some reason when I place it in the disc tray.

• Make music on my Palm Zire 71

  I am very new in the world of Palm, and I don't know much about computers, either.  Here's what I want to know:

  1. How do you find the music on an SD card?-is it a slot on my computer where would the map and if yes, how can I save music files?

  2. once I have my own CD in a file on my count, how can I get the on the map?

  I performed a hotsync, but he is not up-to-date files on my palm.  So, I don't know if the cradle is not working or what, but, is it anoter way to get music and other files on the Palm?

  No problem.  Formatting the card does not occur automatically.  As mentioned in my previous answer, once the card is inserted, you must open the request of information on your Zire card.  Then go into the Menu and select the function format the card.
