Parity memory of motherboard errors

I have a Dell Inspiron 2 gb laptop core duo with Windows Vista. The computer will boot into safe mode without error. Start in normal mode, always gives a message "parity memory, hardware dealer error contact, shut down system" blue screen. There is no memory provided address to determine if the parity memory is on the motherboard or memory cards. I tried using only 1 GB memory card and the two cards does not. With the help of new results in the same error message memory cards. Therefore, I conclude that the faulty memory is on the motherboard.

Of course, the warranty has expired.

In the past, I assigned the faulty memory to a virtual disk and told the owner not to use the virtual disk. This technique WORKED under versions of Windows prior to Vista. I can not any reference to the virtual disks in vista (in the less definable at the start).

Is there a technique known to define and work around a bad block of memory on the motherboard? It seems that the Windows operating systems should be able to work around the bad memory; words, detect the memory parity error, determine a range memory declare unusable, and continue the normal boot process.

It's EXPENSIVE to replace a motherboard just because of a parity error.  I guess the memory on the motherboard is NOT REMPLACABLE. If the parity memory error is on a replaceable card, then replace the memory card is an acceptable expense.

Any suggestions other than to buy a new computer or replace the motherboard?

What is expected. With N = 10, the final matrix will be 10! x 10, or approximately 36Million DBL elements. Each contains 8 bytes, which bears the imprint to ~ 290 MB for a single copy of the matrix of results expected.

Looking at the memory usage of the VI for N = 9, is already 100 MB, so it seems there are about 4 copies of the final table in memory. No wonder that N = 10 is impossible.

I recommend to the instruments in plain LabVIEW (son and loops) with a data type of U8, you will probably be able to go higher than 9.

Remember that 15 is unrealistic, because the dimensions of the matrix are I32, but the size of the array will be N!. This means that you don't have enough lines for example N > 12 anyway.

You have a good reason that you need such huge tables?

  • 'low memory - close applications' error messages

I have 8 GB of RAM and that you have not added all the apps on my work habits, but very recently, I get 'not enough memory - close applications' error messages.  It seems that something is using a lot of RAM.  How can I fix it?

I have been using RAMMap for a different problem, but it might work for you.

Download and install and create a shortcut on your desktop for RAMMap and / or PIN to the taskbar. When you sense the system becomes unresponsive, use Ctrl + Shift + Esc to access the Task Manager. Click the performance tab and the resource monitor button. Click the memory tab and check if free is close to zero, or is equal to zero. If it is, open RAMMap, click on empty on the menu bar and the empty queue. This action restores instantly free memory.

  • Satellite Pro P200: Cannot install Server 2003 - parity memory error

I have a Satellite Pro P200 and to the work required to install Windows 2003 server on it, but all I get is an error message:

    -Hardware malfunction

Call your provider of support material

NMI: Parity check / memory parity error

    -The system is shut down

I checked the memory and everything seems OK. Vista runs very well on it, and all memory is recognized. I tried different flavors of Server 2003, although all I need is standard edition. Anyone who has met this problem, or someone has any suspicion as to how I can get it operational.

So, how tested the RAM? With Memtest? Or Prime95?

I read in many forums that people work servers (no laptop...) SERVERS) that correctly work 1 year with ECC memory, then windows 2003 server gives the same error message you have.

I mean if Vista works flawlessly and you checked as you say the RAM while there could be a mismatch which must not be for lack of toshibas.
Maybe you should try a linux ubuntu server edition, which works great on almost * ALL * systems, even on systems with faulty CPU/memory (Ok, ok, not 100%, but it works, I got this case :))

So, maybe you can try to exchange the RAM, but if you're still the same error then ask microsoft or try another P200, if they are available.

Sorry dude, but I Don t have a lot of ideas in your situation :/

    Welcome them

We must shut down the computer and restart it and now starts without a problem. Previously, we had to leave 12 hours or more.

Any ideas what could be wrong? Laptop is only 18 months old.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I tried a bit with Google and it seems that this message apperas caused a faulty RAM or HARD drive. So, you should try to test the two pieces of material with special test tools:

    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
With the Drive Fitness Test, you can test your HARD drive. Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. Then you can test the HARD drive.
On the same site is a user's guide if you want to know more.

    http://Memtest86.com/
Memtest86 is a diagnostic tool to check the RAM. Here, you can also download a CD image.
It s easy to use. Run the test of 3-4 hours and then you will see if the RAM has some errors.

    I hope it's useful for you! :)

Sometimes, I get the following error message when I start my computer laptop http://www.geocities.com/atesfaye/Mar08_0001.jpg

To read the different forums of discussion, some suggest that this error message may relate to graphics memory! Is there a way to test the graphics memory?

    Any help much appreciated!

  • Portege 3500 modules - 512MB memory lead to error

    Hallo,

I tried to upgrade the memory in my P3500.
There are currently 1 256 MB module installed in the slot under the keyboard.

I bought 2 x 512 MB PC133 SO-DIMM ram modules, but both lead to errors / beeps from the BIOS. I tried different combinations:

    keyboard-slot: 512
the location of the bottom: vacuum
    --> long short

    keyboard-slot: vacuum
the location of the bottom: 512
    --> long short short

    keyboard-slot: 512
the location of the bottom: 256
    --> long short

    keyboard-slot: 256
the location of the bottom: 512
    --> long short short

    keyboard-slot: 512
the location of the bottom: 512
--> long short (pause) long short short

It sounds like the bios refuses the 512 MB modules
I guess what the beeps mean:
long short - refusal of keyboard-ram slot
long short short - refusal of low-ram slot

but according to the manual, it should be possible to install 1 or 2 modules of 512 MB. What I am doing wrong?
Do I need a BIOS update? (currently installed: "ACPI BIOS 1.20")

If a new BIOS only supports 512 MB modules - is there a possibility to upgrade the bios from unix?
(the only download BIOS I found on the support pages unfortunately just Toshiba works for windows)

    Help would be very appreciated...

Yes, you can improve your 3500 up to 1024 MB of memory (2 x 512 MB), but only with the right modules
    You need * 16 x 32 (16 chip architecture) * PC133, 3, 3v sdram modules (144 pin so-dimm)

I'm afraid that your 512 MB modules are not compatible :-(you can count the chips on the module, there should be 8 chips on both sides of the module

I created a small requesting readings some channels in the DAQmx. This schould results written in a PDM file. All this happens within a while loop, even the steps open-entry-closing-PDM.

This test in the development environment everything is fine. But if I create an executable file and try this on the same and other computer, I received an error warning.

The error that says: error on line 342, memory.cpp

Is there anyone who has any idea what is the problem? What I have to insert something in the creation of PDM application designer?

    best looks, T.Malec

The problem of TDMS is special to 8.20. However, you cannot run the executable with a new runtime, because the compiled code is not compatible between major releases (example: code compiled with 8.5.0 will run on 8.5.1, but not on 8.6.x).)

  • First round with resampling of wave and the memory is full error

    Hi all

I have a little problem with my VI that I don't understand.

I'm doing a motor controller application that can take a random waveform and TTL signals for a motor controller.

It's all good, but the first time I run VI I get a memory full error (see photo)... It is only the first time after I opened labview I get

This error... Second time I have start the VI, it works as it should. I guess it's something to do with what kind of data it records in memory.

Looks like it has something to do with the function resample, but exactly what I'm not sure...

I hope some of you guys (or girls) are able to help me, thank you!

    Good day!

    Kind regards

  • Call to Ini_New causes dynamic memory is corrupt error

I'm with LabWindows/CVI 8.5.1 to implement a dll that is really just a customization of the frontend.dll dll teststand used to connect to the Teststand sequence editor. Incidentally, I either work with TestStand 4.1. Unlike most messages about similar problems, I see the error on the first call to Ini_New. The problem seems to be that I do 2 later calls to the exported functions of my dll, even if the variable I write the return value of Ini_New is defined locally. If I move things such as I make a call to my dll, it works... I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. The other thing I see is that after the call Ini_Dispose the end of my function, the pointer is not released, but who will be the subject of another post, I guess.

Any ideas? I can't post my code as is, but if I have to I can make a generic version of this dll that I, as a last resort.

Do not take into account my previous post, I figured out that I was using strcat in several places without properly allocating memory.

    ·        How are you connected to the computer from which you are trying to print?

This occurs when a computer uses the network map to connect to another computer to share files.

To fix this problem, do one or more of the following methods.

    Method 1: Control equipment

    (a) ensure that the computer with file sharing turned on.

    (b) ensure that a hub network or router is powered.

    (c) ensure that the cables are well connected.

If this does not resolve the problem, go to method 2: ensure that network resources are properly shared.

Method 2: Ensure that network resources are properly shared

Share a folder on a drive, then connect to the shared drive, follow these steps.

    Step 1:

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Vista Recovery - dump of physical memory w / code error 0x000000F4 (and other)

    Hi all

It's my first time posting in the forums so I hope I picked the right place and will do my best to be brief but informative.

    Computer: HP Pavilion dv6000

    Operating system: Windows Vista.

For 6-8 months, he was unable to run Windows Update, citing that the most likely reason was a virus. I tried many power outages of options when it was recommended I have perform a chkdsk command. After the launch of a chkdsk in command prompt command, my computer has restarted and has a black screen with no cursor. After watching this 2 hours and realize that none of the usual chkdsk or text progress was that I made the decision to force stop.

When I rebooted, I was told to enter the system recovery which I did and completed a recovery of the system from the hard drive. After the system recovery finished and the laptop has rebooted, I encounter a Blue Screen of Death, due to a physical memory dump. The error codes are STOP: 0x000000F4 (0xFFFFFA8006671040, 0xFFFFFA8006671278, 0 x 0000000000000003, 0xFFFFF80001D01DA0).

I'm not able to boot in safe mode. In the Startup Repair, I am able to get into command prompt, where I again chkdsk. The f / chkdsk and chkdsk r / passed without error. In addition, the computer has spent the two disk hard UEFI and memory tests. I have the recovery CD for the computer system, but they fail at the end of 78%.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more information. I would appreciate any advice!

    Thank you!

After trying some of the various troubleshooting methods available in the HP's Support Forums, I finally created a new set of recovery disks of Windows Vista, follow the procedure described in this post. These discs have managed to perform a restore of the system and solve the BSoD error that I lived.

    Thanks for your help!
