Passage of arguments about Oracle IRM Office

Hello

I am new to Oracle IRM and I'm trying to preconfigure Oracle IRM Desktop passing some arguments according to Oracle IRM Desktop Guide, but I don't know where and how put the parameters.

Thanks for your help.

Edgar Galvan.

Hi Edgar,

Ah! I see. Ok. I'm sorry. Here is our approach. We assume that for interactive installations, just simply run the exe, and then apply the settings that you need through the user interface. We assume that the additional settings are required for multi-users deployment will go quietly preconfigured with settings appropriate to that end users can just click and go. This can be bundled in a script that may have to do other things, like taking note of the fact that another licnse software has been used, or the end user enter the appropriate server application. For example, in Oracle, we have a central location called MyDesktop which hosts all the software that we are called to use. We just there click the appropriate software and then a specific installer MyDesktop downloads the software to our desktop and installs the software with all the required parameters and the parameters of our environment.

So, to answer your question directly, if you are an administrator, we would expect you:

1 extract the MSI to EXE file that you have downloaded from OTN already.
2 create a script with the command msiexec calling the MSI and the parameters on the command line.

To extract the MSI file:

Note: If you are a customer you have connected on My Oracle Support and sought "extracted from MSI. You would have found KM Note 451873.1 which deals with this. In any case, here's what you do:

* Run the installation executable provided and wait for the Welcome window to appear.
Open Windows Explorer and go to Windows TEMP%.directory. The location of this folder varies depending on the operating system

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\LocalSettings\Temp\
Windows 7 or Vista: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\

.. where is your login username.

* The subfolder is named Oracle-MRI-Installer-1234567890 where 1234567890 can be any 10-digit number.
* In the new directory, you will find the MSI installer (this is the file ending in ".msi") and a Setup log
* Copy the MSI installer in a different directory.
* On the Welcome window, press Cancel. Confirm that you do not want to continue the installation.
* Click on finish in the final install window. You can delete the temporary directory that was created because it is not deleted when you quit the process.

I hope this helps!

Kind regards
Frank.

    Clear credentials in this office. To do this, open the options panel in double-cliocking MRI systray icon. Click the servers tab then select your server. This should allow the clear password button. Click on the button.

    After that, try sealing. You should be prompted to authenticate - unless you use Windows NT authentication?

  • Oracle BI Office integration

    Hi all

    Office integrate oracle bi seems simple and details are here. http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10416/biofficeinstall.htm

    But my problem is after the installation of OracleBIOffice.exe, I can't create a connection. I did a full install base of OBI, I do not know my problem on installation, but I wonder what is http://bioffice-server.mycompany.com:80 / bioffice, in my case, it should be http://localhost: 80/bioffice? What makes 80 the default port. How can I make sure that I don't have a problem with my Oracle BI Office Server.

  • Windows 7 starts questions about mac and office 2010 following an installation

    It's a long cut as short as vent. I've been miss sold a record of upgrade of windows 8 full disk-shaped, with norton and office 2010. My goal of creating windows on my mac for a course I'm taking. After that know I need windows 7, I bought it online. I created a partition of 80g on my mac charge windows 7, then norton. Until I loaded the office that I was invited to perform the update from apple in the windows software 7. Note before I installed norton, I load boot camp mac utilities according to the instructions. So, followed by all as should be. The prompt update from apple was quick time, iTunes and airport, I checked all and then updated. Then I loaded office 2010 and obtained throughout the process from the Microsoft site. On the last part of the installation, the installation failed due to a mistake of hanging iTunes. I tried again and again, I fixed the update to iTunes to add and remove the section of windows. Then, I got different errors. I decided to remove the whole score without uninstalling all programs again. When I get to the windows live, that this falls priming. I get various error messages whenever I try to start the process. As a header of Bank pool, fatal error and so on. Can anyone help? What is the damage?

    IF emp.employee_id IS NULL THEN

    END IF;

    EMP: = employee_typ (NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL,

    NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL,

    address_typ (NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL));

    -emp: = NULL; -It would have made the following statement of the TRUE IF

    If emp IS NOTHING THEN DBMS_OUTPUT. Put_line ("emp is NULL #3"); END IF;

    IF emp.employee_id IS NULL THEN

    DBMS_OUTPUT. Put_line ("emp.employee_id is NULL #3");

    END IF;

    EXCEPTION

    WHEN ACCESS_INTO_NULL THEN

    DBMS_OUTPUT. Put_line ('impossible to assign object NULL value');

    END;

    /

    The result is:

    EMP is NULL #1
    EMP.employee_id is NULL #1
    EMP is NULL #2
    EMP.employee_id is NULL #3

    I came across the below example on the oracle documentation.

    I'm not very sure why 'emp is NULL #2' always get printed even if the Member attribute is assigned a value that should be non-NULL and ' emp is NULL #3 "is not get printed even though the object is assigned to null."

    Can one of you you please explain about it. or give the overview of the conditions of the NULLable object.

    Have you actually tried this example? Why not?

    The best and often faster, learn is to DO - not just read.

    If you tried this example, you would see that you have been "bitten" by a documentation bug.

    EMP.employee_id: = 330;

    That the line of code won't work - it will trigger an exception is the output you get really

    PEM is NULL #1

    EMP.employee_id is NULL #1

    Can't assign value to the NULL object

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SQL >

    The 'emp' instance has the value NULL as shows it the first message. If you cannot assign the 330 value him.

    For others, the example seems to be the Oracle documentation

    It's good to see a desire for education... but education can be petty meaningless without experience. A course can never replace the knowledge and the experience gained by really get your hands dirty.

    You can already get your hands with RAC - dirty using nothing but a PC and Vmware. Or DataGuard. Or create a database, take the manual backup and start playing with RMAN that you manually trash db files and create problems to take care of the recovery. And while doing that sort of thing, you'll meet Oracle a lot better and more intimately than in a lab environment.

    The courses are good. But when I interview an applicant who has been on a course of PL/SQL and have very little experience, compared to one who was not on a course is that self-taught PL/SQL and can actually sense answers when asked about in bulk of treatment for example... I tend to prefer the latter.

    My suggestion is not to focus only on the course and by doing one after the other as quickly as possible... but use the knowledge provided by a class and who transformed into experience... It will last longer like this and improve your skills over those who participate with you and does not which turned into experience.

  • Question about preinstalled Microsoft Office 2007

    I don't know what subject im talking - this pc was again this year and they gave me a code to activate product for this how the above has now expired - get a new one?
    I didn't do anything at all without that happens? Someone said that you can get another free one where well?

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Hello

    Your laptop came preinstalled Office 2007, but only as a trial version which works just 60 days.
    When you start it for the first time, you will get key online but for only 60 days. After this period you must purchase the activation code to get the full version.

    If you want to have 60 days once again, you must install OS using Toshiba recovery image. After this free trial 60 days turn on again and it should work.

  • all about extra-large office

    My son was playing on my computer compaq laptop and now all my icons, fonts and windows as very large office. I have to scroll over and down to display a Web page. How can I restore it?  She has windows vista.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the above does not work:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution
    Change the screen resolution
    Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.
    I did it with 2 GB of RAM dedicated to the virtual machine. If you host only has 4 GB of RAM, so you may not be able to run many other in the VM host upward.
  • Ask about Oracle certification for the Admin path
    Hi I have the underside of certifications under my belt:-1. Oracle Certified Associate of PL/SQL Developer 2. Oracle PL/SQL Developer certified professional that I would give Oracle Database 11 g administration Associate certification. I see that I need to give exams 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-052 for. So my question is whther I need to give Z051 review? Keeping in mind, I traced level OCP, authorized as a PL/SQL Developer. Thanks in advance...
    How can I get confirmation on this officially?
    See the FAQ:
    https://education.Oracle.com/pls/web_prod-PLQ-dad/db_pages.GetPage?page_id=82
    Look for the "SQL Fundamentals".  One of the questions will be: "How long can I use an exam to earn a certification? "Exam results expire?"
    The answer is: "do not expire the results of exams, but certifications are retiring, and that affects your older test results will help you to get certified or not. "
    If a specific review meets a requirement in a current certification path, it does not matter if you have passed the exam. "For example, if you have taken SQL, # 1Z0-001 review in 1997, you can always use it meets the requirement of SQL for Oracle database current certification."
    If you do not trust that - the moderator of the forum, Brandye, can come in a day or two to confirm what I said.  However, there is no doubt.  The question comes up fairly often.  In fact, I wrote a blog on this subject for more than a year (although this would not even "official", of course):
