Pavilian G6-2213sa: start of post screen black hp Pavilion G6-2213sa

Hello

I'm having a problem was when I turn on my laptop the screen lights up, the system starts & then the screen becomes black and white. The laptop works well, and the operating system has started.

I have...

  • External monitor plug in HDMI and I can see fine OS & external screen works fine.
  • Check disk HARD last
  • Past RAM Check
  • Reinstalled RAM
  • Performed hard reset (remove the battery, power, then hold down the power button / stop upwards)
  • Occurs on 8.1 Windows 64 bit
  • Occurs on Ubuntu 64 bit 14.04
  • Replace SSD HARD drive

All the foregoing, I tried with no resolution, any one have any other suggestions?

Currently, the issue is occurring almost every time I turn on the laptop and the only way to use the laptop when this happens is to plug in an external monitor.

Thanks for you help in advance.

Jonathan.

I have now found the question as a fault with the power to screen.

suggests I should turn to 'use iCloud password' (which can be enabled), but I don't see how to do it from the CLI.

If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.

There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Related support article refers to OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You receive an error message?

    Method 1

See the articles below and check if it helps.

Computer stops responding with a black screen when you start Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/318027

    Method 2

I suggest that you start the computer in the last good known Configuration mode and safe mode, post back with the result.

    Method 3

If the computer can boot in any mode, then I suggest that you perform the clean boot procedure and check if it helps.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Hi all

The product name and number: HP DX2450 format microtour

Operating system: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

When I turn on the PC, it takes the computer about 20-30 seconds to access the menu of POST/HP screen.  After that, it starts in Windows 7 pretty quickly and is normal.

Then, when I hit the power button the screen is black with "no signal" displayed for about 20-30 seconds, then upward appears HP POST screen and it starts fine.

I tried everything under the Sun for this remove:

1 pulled all the system RAM and started with inserted individual sticks.

I'm out of ideas.  I'm starting to convince myself that works it's just the way the PC and its normal for it to take 20 to 30 seconds of kick.

The only other thing I did is upgrade RAM to 4 GB, but memTest doesn't show any errors.

    Hi Danjen,

I finally discovered what the problem was.  It was the dedicated AMD Radeon 5450 graphics card I have installed!

I took the card and returned to the integrated graphics card and it starts instantly.

I should have known, really.  I just forgot the graphics card.

    Thanks for your help.

  • T60 x 1400 victory 8.1 x 64-screen black after start-up

    Hello

my config - T60 with ati x 1400, I use win 8 x 64 and it works fine for me.

But I would jump up to 8.1.

I was working on win 8.1 x 64 before, but I decided to downgrade due to a very annoying problem.

After the closing start system again that the screen was completely black (no cursor even), but I can hear that the system is running in the background. He helped bring my laptop for the sleep/hibernate and wake up again. Black screen does not appear if I use sleep/hibernate implementation, but only if turn off pc by shutdown system.

I have install the ati drivers for vista support page lenovo T60, avoiding "setup.exe" and ccc, only pure graphics driver, installed through properties of the graphics card.

Earn 8 x 64 this method works very well, the 8.1 looks the same, but then this problem with black screen appeared.

Maybe I have to stay forever on win 8...

I wonder if anyone has had problems familiar and may have found way to solve?

    Thanks for any help.

I work on win 8.1 now.

After the upgrade, the screen black problem appeard again, but this time with the visible mouse pointer.

I had to disable the "quick start" option in the power manager.

I think I read on this solution that somewhere, but long ago had no faith in it.

Anyway, the problem was gone, and I am a user happy windows 8.1. For a long time, I hope.

    Thanks for the help AtliJarl.

If you haven't tried the "last known good configuration" among the Advanced startup options then do that first.  If this does not help, you must run the System File Checker to search for possible system problems.  Then, you must run the upgrade from the system tool and then see if you are able to run the SP2 update.   Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external

If the system restore does not work and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

I bought my x 51 all with warranty 1 year ago a year and a half, recently it has been giving me some problems and today I can't use it yet at all.

The problem started with my screen remains black when I turned on my computer (punt, never awake from sleep), but which would be corrected by me once or twice by restarting the computer. That did not last too long, and soon it did not matter how many times I rebooted the computer. I finally had to unplug the computer and press and hold the power for 30 seconds to see if it worked.

He did, but this solution has worked only once, and now I have nothing seems to regularize my situation. I tried switching monitors and cables with my brother (who is an identical 51 x), but nothing has worked.

    To summarize:

    My computer turns on.

Not funny lights or noises (save a beep on startup)

Screen remains black on reboot of the screen it says he receives no signal and falls asleep.

No problem when it runs normally (not funny colors, stripes on the screen or blur).

Thanks for anything that might help!

Sounds like you have a dead video card, from the link above looks like there is no output from vga Intel to tun tests, you must remove the old video card and test with another video card that works to verify that the card is in fact dead, like your brothers x 51 remove the video card and test it on your machine.

If I had this machine in front of me I would use one of these babies for once then run tests on the video card.
