Pavilion 15-ab208ur: is HP has plans to support the customers of amateur level?

Hi all

I use a new computer laptop 15-ab208ur flag and a little frustrated that it has limited options in the BIOS and restricted parameters in the native software of HP.

I would like to get complete control of the material that I paid for, but unfortunately it is not true at the moment.

It would be great to see HP Support help certain tools of monitoring/tuning for the hardware components that allow me to control material (temperature, frequency, etc.).

For example, I raised a question about the frequencies of vRAM here:

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-video-display-and-touch/GeForce-940m-default-VRAM-frequency/TD...

I have to use tools like MSI Afterburner, GPU - Z, etc. to monitor my laptop.
It will be nice to have the same characteristics in Support of HP for Assistance or HP CoolSence tools.

HP has plans to add support for amateur-level clients to their software side of laptops?

Best regards

Alexey.

Hello

You can move to another level and pay more such as machines of class work station or some machines TRUE games or you can build yourself a laptop BUT for computers laptops normal manything a BIOS locked in. Sellers (not only HP) must lock it with a very simple reason: they don't want users new machines BREAK and return.

Portable senior level are for a Pro like you.

Kind regards.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

While Microsoft says there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when she fails, she can let machines in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

If this is not enough, the Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt partition recovery stored by the OEM that built the original machine. It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work.

What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media.

It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entry and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

If HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

  • Pavilion 15-ab208ur: frequency of vRAM Geforce 940 m default

    Hi all

I hold with my new laptop Pavilion 15-ab208ur.

Now I search the video subsystem. It consist of the Intel HD Graphics 520 and Nvidia GeForce 940 M with 4 GB DDR3 vRAM.

I am running the tests and see results below the Nvidia Geforce 840 M with 2 GB DDR3 vRAM.

I did some research and found this in my laptop vRAM running at 900 Mhz (1800 Mhz effective) but as far as I know, it should work at 1000 Mhz (2000 Mhz as http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-940M.138027.0.html).

Is only for version 4 GB or 2GB version has even downclocked vRAM?

    Best regards

    Alexey.

Will answer my question by myself.

It seems that HP blocking the BIOS settings in order to avoid users to make Damien to laptops by setting the BIOS settings invalid.

There are no options to manually enable these parameters without changing ROM BIOS of the laptop computer using specific tools.

  • HP pavilion ab219tx 15: your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart

20 days ago, I bought the HP Pavilion 219tx ab.
There is a performance in the laptop... shift, which was resolved after updating windows and some drivers.

But yesterday when I was using the laptop all at once a blue screen with a message "your PC came across a problem and must be restart." Windows collects information and will reboot the system. "It took 5 minutes to restart the system, and after that the system worked well.

This problem will occur again. Is the front offset and this crash is a problem hardware or any glitch in windows 10 or something els

This blue screen is caused by a process in conflict with Windows 10. Something that you have downloaded which is incompatible with Windows 10 perhaps.

If you download it and run it its log file will tell you what caused the accident.

  • Pavilion Slimline d 235 400 has room for a 2nd hard drive?

    Hello

    Please check

    (1) if the Slimline 400 - 235 d has enough room in the tower to House a 2nd hard drive?

I saw the video in this link, looks like it can only hard drive of House 1

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02915677

    (2) my HP warranty is cancelled if I buy my 2nd hard drive and install on my own?

    Thank you!

    BH

    BH098, welcome to the forum.

I don't think you can install a second hard drive.  In the case, here are the bays of units:

    Size Bay bays Total

    13.33 cm (5.25 inches) ODD1
    8,89 cm (3.5 inch) HARD drive1
    * Berries can be occupied by existing material.

One is occupied by the HARD drive and the other by the DVD recorder.  If you want to add a disk, I suggest buying a USB 3.0 external drive.

If you have installed a second hard drive, he would not cancel your warranty.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6108us: why HP has locked my product key?

I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop HP using ISO available on Microsoft site, as my current Windows became defective after 5 years of use (Note: this laptop was purchased with Windows pre-installed). To download the file, I need to check my key product of Windows 7; which I documented. However, after you have submitted the information, I received an error message indicating that Microsoft has a problem with my key. I contacted Microsoft Support and they told me that my product key has been locked by the manufacturer of my computer (HP).

I have no idea how the have unlocked, and I don't know WHY it was locked, but I'd like to be able to use my existing key to do a clean install of my OS... I am aware that this laptop is old and out of warranty, but it was perfectly fine until recently. So, what reason is there that HP would lock my Windows 7 product activation key and how would I be able to use it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

First of all, you can NOT use an OEM Key Code to activate a retail installation. You need the OEM of Windows version. In this case, you can contact HP in your country to order a set of recovery.

  • Desktop HP pavilion a800n (win xp) has no option for the hibernation

I just had an old (xp) Pavilion a800n engineering and migrated my operating system and the programs in my laptop computer on a disc hard nine, which I installed it in the Pavilion.  All is well (with some driver updates), but the only problem is that I have no option to Hibernate in power options.  Is this normal for this computer (only have closed hard and standby)?

    Thank you!

    Hello

I think that this option ONLY for a computer that can run on battery, for most laptops. Amazing to see your experiences of "migrated my OS and programs over my new laptop on a hard drive" without breaking the EULA for the OS and still works.

  • Pavilion p6110y: what would be a viable replacement for the Pavilion p6110y power?

Hello!  I need to replace the power supply of my Pavilion p6110y PC.  It has a 20 motherboard connector pins and the power supplies I saw on Amazon use now 24 pins for the motherboard connectors.  When I tried to see if I could use a connector 24 pin 20 pins, the instructions I found on a motherboard said that they could not be used with HP because it had different sons.  So, I need to find a diet that I can use.  Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

  • Pavilion Touchsmart 17-e123cl: reading a VOB file on the disc is pixelated and its so strange, but from the dvd is ok.

    Hello

I have a laptop of 17-e123cl Pavilion Touchsmart with installed PowerDVD12.  If I play the videos from the drive VDV plays it very well, but if I copy the DVD to the hard drive and try to play there the image has a lot of large blocks and horizontal bars in the picture and the sound is messed up.  Since the HARD drive is a 1 5400 to disc it should be even faster than the DVD player, but it looks like that is the question.  Is there any other driver that I need to get things working correctly from the hard drive?  When I travel, I can't bring DVD in some countries, but the movies on the hard drive are not a problem (normally).  Same thing happens if copied to a flash drive.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Rick

    Hello

Yes, this is the problem because they are two different file systems/structures. Normally you rip the DVD to a correct video file format and view on your computer. Please try:

  • computer laptop Pavilion G6-1d71nr is supports the SSD drive?

I have a Pavilion G6(g6-1d71nr) laptop.  Currently, it has factory-installed memory of HD and 8 GB to 500 GB.  The laptop had run sluggish lately, that I won't be able to increase the memory that it tops out at 8 GB per user manual.  I wonder

If the laptop supports solid state drive (or even hybrid), I couldn't find in the user manual that the SSD is supported.  If this is not the case, he will support a hybrid?

  • P7-1534 Pavilion: Pavilion p7-1534 Dead HD, how can I get the recovery CD to install new HD?

I was on all the HP site and specifically in the support options for the above-mentioned office, but can not find answers related to a recovery CD. All the proposed solutions relate to solve no mention of recovery hw and sw problems.

My HD failed, I intend to install the new unit, but the media was not shipped with the PC. Why is it so difficult to find answers to what seems to be an obvious question for many at some point? Perhaps the HD is not expected to fail? It was that the press kit has been provided with the units, that is no longer the case, it is now almost impossible to find a simple answer to this common problem.

Bad enough to lose the drive and the data, so we have a quest for media use.

While it is tempting to install Windows 7, my research on this model indicates problems with drivers for this OS, so I'll stick with Win8.

Where you request a media kit or by phone, email, chat, or pixie dust?

    Hello:

To order a recovery media for your PC, click on the link below and then click to expand the second recovery media line command to the bottom of the page.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-P7-1500-desktop-PC-series/5330777/model/5331454

Should be absolutely no problem to install W7 on this model if you have a W7 64-bit installation disc and a product key is valid.

If you want to do this, let me know and I'll link you to a model that has the same motherboard as yours and W7 x 64 drivers.

  • HP Pavilion dv6t - 6 c 00 laptop can't see the connection of 5 GHz.

Hello, I just got a router dual-band Time Warner Cable I want to connect wirelessly with my HP Pavilion dv6t - 6 c 00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC I've had for 2 years and a half now. The laptop has no trouble to see and connect to the 2.4 Ghz band, but has not yet seen the 5 GHz. I tried to play with the settings of the router, but had no luck so far. I think he should be able to see it, but I'm not 100% sure.
Anyone know if I need to update my drivers or anything for it, so you can connect to 5G? Or maybe buy a new card network or adapter? Or I'm offline at 5 G lucky?
All comments, suggestions, ideas, would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

    -T7K

    You are the very welcome.

    Yes, you are on point.

If the card is a dual-band card, you would see the suffix abgn or agn

Unfortunately, the Realtek card in your laptop computer is a single band card as evidenced by the bgn suffix and only works on the 2.4 GHz band.
