Pavilion 15-N253TX: HP Pavilion N253TX 15 - apparently completely broken

Laptop:

HP Pavilion 15-n253tx

Problem:

Nothing does, start long time. (I write from my old laptop).

Deatail questions:

Problems began yesterday. The day before, it was fine; I watched a few videos on youtube, and then went to bed. Now, I can only start my laptop (very slowly). When I click on anything whatsoever (programs, applications, start button, HP support, ctrl alt del) the laptop freezes and won't do anything. Try to click something different does nothing. Usually the blue loading circle appears, but will spin indefinitely while nothing happens.

Solutions attempted:

I made a couple of resets hard as well as various 'turn on' over 24 hours, but nothing has changed. I want to update my drivers, but I can't do it - it is impossible to even open a browser.

Semi-dramatique activity

I don't access to dangerous sites (to the best of my knowledge) and never click on ads that I use adblock.

I recently uninstalled McAfee (use Avast instead)

I installed "DriverAgent" to check my drivers are up to date-Avast he identified as safe - but installation coincides with problems.

I think this might be a job to a professional because I am so limited in what I can do with my laptop, however, bright ideas here are welcome.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

I was not able to perform a system restore using as described in the guide, however, I managed to reach the screen troubleshooting that I needed by a stroke of luck. I actually "shift click on" reboot to try to start windows in safe mode. This brought to the top of the screen shown in the guide that you posted a link to. From there, I made an update of the system that solved the problem. No data lost, but many applications need to be put back.

Thanks again for having me on the right track

Without your identification of the HP Pavilion laptop it is certainly impossible to give you an accurate answer except to inform you that you can buy a usb bluetoothdongle to add the feature. They are pretty cheap,

  • Graphics card drivers for the GeForce in my Pavilion p6157c 9100 apparently are not editable?

If, when you are running Windows Vista or Windows7 that I use now, after installing the latest drivers from nVidia for the GeForce 9100 Integrated GPU Windows Update recommend re install the drivers as of October 2010.  It wouldn't matter to me except older drivers are apparently missing in performance - the comparing the latest nVidia drivers who have my adapter listed as compatible.

I would appreciate hearing an expert or someone who understands the reasoning, or that I may be wrong with my setup, so I to can learn more about this issue.   Perhaps informing me as to why this graphics card (integrated or not - to the motherboard, would not require any update?)

Thank you for your time and effort.

    Hello:

I would keep the drivers you have installed directly from nVidia.

Go to Windows Update and do right click on this driver suggested by Windows Installer, and select Hide update.

Then Windows will not be bothering you with it more.

The reason that you have found this update is the last update of HP or nVidia released to Microsoft for inclusion in their database to update the driver.

Hello. Sorry for my English. I'm from the Ukraine.

I want to improve my HP Pavilion dv7-4150er and I need advice from experienced people.

    Now, I have:

    -8 GB of RAM (2 x 4 GB),

-1 TB of HDD (5400 RPM)

-stock video (Mobility Radeon hd 5650 graphics card) card overclocked to 700 MHz GPU and 950 MHz Vram.

-CPU (mobile Quad Core Intel Core i7-720QM, 1716 MHz) in stock

    -BIOS F.29

    2 problems:

    -Slow CPU

    -Slow HARD drive

I want to buy a few HARD drives SSD for Windows and secondary soft and left for the data.

Get an increase in the performance of the system?

On the 'Intel' site, I read that my

    Intel® HM55 Express Chipset Mobile

is compatible with the more powerful processors. LINK

    And I have a great opportunity to buy Intel® Core™ i7-940XM processor Extreme Edition (8 M Cache, 2.13 GHz)

    But the laptop manual says:

720QM and 940xm - identical processors. The difference in 'MAX TDP' 45w/55w, 'Cache' 6 mb / 8 mb and clock speed 1.6 GHz/2.13 GHz

The Intel® Core™ i7-940XM processor Extreme Edition (8 M Cache, 2.13) will work properly in my laptop?

How can I increase a CPU nested way (with another compatible processor) perfomance if 940xm is not compatible?

    Help me please.

    Thank you for your time.

Hello nickiblackmore.  I understand that you are curious about the upgrade of your laptop.

Here is a link to Guide of Service and Maintenance of your laptop.  It covers the disassembly of the laptop and can also show you how to replace parts if you upgrade the.

If you switch to a Solid State Drive of a standard 5400 or 7200 RPM hard drive, you should see a significant performance increase.  This is because a normal hard drive spinning platters and it takes time to locate data on the trays as they are moving.  A Solid State Drive has no moving parts and therefor can locate data much more quickly.

A CPU upgrade is a much more difficult question.  HP does not recommend that you perform this type of upgrade.  Laptops are generally designed with specific thermal and electrical needs.  If you change the CPU, it will probably create more heat and use a higher power that will cause you problems.  However, if you stick to a processor that is listed in the service (for example in your picture) Guide, you should be fine.  For example, you can choose one of the microprocessors found in the image to upgrade your laptop.  Also, keep in mind that the integral part upgrade as a CPU can affect your warranty (check your warranty here).

If you think that answers your question be sure to mark the post as solved.  This makes it easier for others to find answers to their questions.

    Have a great day!

  • HP Pavilion 14 laptop: HP Pavilion 14 does not completely close

    Hello

Recently, I follow several updates driver on my laptop as suggested by HP Support Assistant. I believe that most, if not all, these updates have been Intel. Since then, my computer was not stopping completely.

No matter if I push the power button / stop or klick on farm on the menu, my laptop to initialize the process of closing and I get the blue screen that says "Shutting down...". "but when the screen goes black, my power button light remains on and I can hear the cooling of laptop. Basically, I have to hold the power button for a long time if I want to completely stop my laptop (and to reactivate it later).

Does anyone have the same problem or know a solution? I suspect, it might have to do with the new drivers, but I don't know how to solve this problem (or even how to know that the drivers have been updated lately..).

    Help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close the open windows and restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download the driver directly from Intel IMEI on the following link, unzip the and run the installer.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/26127/Intel-management-engine-consumer-driver-for-Intel-NUC

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

When the machine rebooted, re - activate the quick start and restart the computer once more - let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking.

    Welcome to the HP Forums

I would like to take a moment and thank you for the use of this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
You have the best experience on the HP forum, you can also visit our Guide of Forums from HP for the first time here? Learn how to post and much more.

If I understand correctly there is a gray tint/background on the start screen, stop,

Don't worry though, as I have a few steps to the issue and find a solution more.

Please try another monitor to understand if it is a hardware or a software failure,
If the lines do not appear on the other monitor, replace the faceplate on your computer,
If there are lines on the monitor/TV replacing, re-install the graphics card drivers and update of HP's official website: click here

If you do not have another monitor, I recommend you to check if the lines appear on the BIOS screen (restart the computer and press F10 to access BIOS)

This would confirm if it is a hardware failure or a problem with the graphics card drivers, so we can reinstall and update drivers to fix the problem, as mentioned above.

If the problem persists on the BIOS as well, please try with a TV to identify if it's the LCD or the mother/video card failure,

If the problem occurred after an accident (such as a fall on the ground, the liquid spilled on it, etc.) that there could be a hardware failure and in this case, you may need to get the computer repaired by HP (it might have involved load if the PC is not covered by the protection against accidental damage plan)

Response with the result of the above, for help.

I wish you a good day

  • Pavilion 500-070: VGA port broken on HP Paviliion

Recently, I had planned to put a few new parts (PSU, processor, graphics card) in my PC. I opened the folder to clean some dust out with compressed air. I closed it and I have no signal VGA connection to my monitor. I opened the box and messed with the port from the inside until it worked. A little later, the start of the port does not again and my previous dose did not. I tried the cable VGA and monitor with another computer, so I know they work.

Anyway, the VGA port on the back is damaged and it does not work. I called HP and because my computer is no longer under warranty, they said it will take more than $300 to fix and I'm not so interested in this possibility.

My question is whether, since I already ordered a graphics card, if I install a new graphics card, I will be able to connect the monitor directly into the card and be able to use my computer like this? Or is there an option that I need to be able to navigate? If it's the latter, I'll have to fix it or get a new motherboard.

I know that my computer is a bit old and I'm a little new to this, but any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!<>

Enter the system BIOS/UEFI parameters by repeatedly tapping on F10 key when starting upwards. In some cases, you will have to type the ESC key to access the boot menu, THEN press the F10 key.

I say you may need to disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS as BIOS may already be set to 'Auto' mode which automatically detects which graphics connector is being used and automatically use this adapter. But if it is specifically set to "integrated graphics", you will need to change it to 'Auto' or 'PCI-e '. I can't give you specific shows once you are in the BIOS, because the BIOS interfaces can vary considerably. But you should be able to navigate through the different sections and find the graphics settings, it is not so difficult. You can visit the BIOS settings before you make your purchase just to be sure that you are convinced that you will find the necessary parameters. Or, you can install the card and see how it goes, if you do not get a screen so you know that you should disable the graphic edge.

Another consideration is that you have only a 300W power supply which probably is not a PCI-e power connector. The PCI-e slot itself provides only 75W so I would limit your new card to 75W or less.

Still another consideration is that you will probably need to disable "Secure Boot"in the BIOS also.

IMHO, I think that replacing the motherboard would be unaffordable.

  • Laptop HP tx1250ea "Low disk space" Error Message drive D (HP Recovery) is apparently complete

I went to the D drive, but the only folder that seem to be there is HP recovery. In addition to the recovery folder, I expect to see other Windows files that might be deleted safely. I went to the reader via the above as recommended free Commander in this forum. Not really computer savvy so would be very grateful for the help

The recovery partition is designed to be comprehensive, because it remains the same.

You can simply delete the D: partition drive letter and the message will disappear. This will not affect the ability to use the partition recovery by F11 recovery option. It will just be illiterate in Windows.

So here's the scoop. My computer (HP Pavilion 500-056) had been broken for a year now, and I finally fixed and reinstalled windows 10. Everything worked well and I was very happy until I realized that I had no sound coming out of my speakers. Through my process of DIY autour, check the cables and the entry and other output sockets, there seemed to be no problem. I went in the sound mixer, and there, I accidentally disabled my speakers, so they don't pop up on the list more! I have no idea how to turn them on now, and I still have no idea how fix my sound. If someone could help pronto, I would be very happy! Thank you!

    Hello

If they were just disabled, you can re-enable the as follows.

Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".

In the next window, right-click on an empty area and enter a checkmark against "Show disabled devices".

If your speakers are now listed, right-click them, then select activate.
