Pavilion: closed

It is frustrating, as I updated my laptop Pavilion of Windows 8 for windows 10 this summer. Since the update him when plugging into the bottom of the computer, the power and stay with the black screen turned on Wifi. I can't start the computer by pressing the power button / stop or wake it upward, and can not restart the computer without maintaining the power button to force power off the computer completely.

I'm running a 15 "HP Pavilion laptop bought in 2014, don't know the model numbers.

I searched for this issue, and I see in Windows 8, windows 7. but I'm not a search result for windows 10.

I went through the windows troubleshooting for power settings tool turned back without results problem still happens. It's a pain serious because in the few times I have to pack to go to a meeting, if I forgot to turn off completely the computer heats up when I put it in the wrong cell and the battery is dead by the time I get to where ever I go.

Any help?

Hello

You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.

Download the driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp62001-62500/sp62419.exe

Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.

When finished, restart the laptop.

If the machine now shutsdown correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

  • 15-P152NU Pavilion: Pavilion/closed sleep problem

Hello everyone! I write for the first time and I hope I do it in the right section.
So, I recently bought a new 15-P152NU Pavilion and it is great but there is a very annoying problem right from the beginning that drives me crazy I tried almost everything I might have found on the Internet and still found no solution. So my problem is this - when I use the laptop for periods of solitaire (over an hour) it won't go to sleep or off. When I try to do a stop/standby the screen would turn black and the cover and the fan would stay. What I noticed is that if I try to shutdown/sleep when I used it for periods short (10-20 minutes), it would be nice and the fan and the cover would be turned off. But otherwise they would stay and my copmputer essentially dies and I have to press on and hold the power button and then start all over to get to the race. I tried to leave it any longer (I left it overnight) - without success. I don't know either it is based on the temperature of the cpu or a process which starts after a certain period of time, but I was really tired so I hope that I find a solution here. What I've tried so far is:

-Adjust the advanced settings in Power Options.
    -Disable Hibernation
-Update/restore Intel HD Graphics Family and almost all drivers which could be updated / restored.
    -Run the troubleshooter in Windows
    -Disable Boot (Restart) fast
-Looking for a process that interrupts sleep and stopping by using powercfg-queries. All say no
-Looked for a setting in the BIOS that could prevent the stop/standby - found nothing related...

I'm really tired of this so I'll be looking forward to your answers. Hope someone can help me.

    Hello, @Sparkles1,.

And thanks for the reply to my post. Fortunately, I managed to solve the problem. I found a solution after a long reading on the Internet. You, it might be useful for other users, I will share it than what has worked for me.

    1. go in Control Panel -> Device Manager
    2. expand System devices
    3. find Intel (R) Management Engine interface -> right click-> properties-> driver

    4. check the driver version. If 11.x.x.x , you'll probably face my problem.

    5. uninstall the driver. Restart your computer.
    6. download the old driver (version 9.5.15.1730 5 M) by https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=intel+management+engine and install it. Reboot if requested.

That's all. This did the trick for me. I hope it will be useful for other users too.

I'm sorry I didn't post my solution earlier, but I had completely forgotten that I had posted here. Anyway thanks for your reply. I think that the forums of HP is an amazing place.

  • Pavilion dv7 programs closing and opening at random, computer stops randomly

I have a Pavilion dv7-6154ea running on Windows 7. I've had it for a year and a half now and I just encountered this problem (it started a few days ago).

The problem is that some programs or files are opening and closing by themselves, randomly without doing me anything. Sometimes even whole computer stops himself. And it's not as if it crashes, it just closes programs in the usual way or stops normally (without any problem).

I scanned the entire computer for viruses and it is clean. If the problem seems not be caused by a virus.

One thing that I was doing at the same time when this problem occurred is switchable graphics mode in the BIOS change, dynamics on fixed, by following the steps in this link to The switchable Graphics Mode

I have a built-in Intel GPU (that to speed up performance) and an AMD Radeon HD 6490 M GPU (that of better graphics) and I wanted to run the PC on the AMD because I think that the dynamic mode has not changed the GPU when I needded, for example for video games.

However, after a day of opening/closing by themselves programs, I decided to return to dynamic mode, and nothing has changed, so maybe it's also not the cause of the problem.

In any case, it seems too convenient that the problem happened right after I introduced the Switchable graphics in the BIOS mode, if I don't think it's a coincidence.

Can someone help me? It becomes very awkward to have a program that I use at the moment of the computer closa.

    Thank you

    sthri,

It doesn't sound like it's a virus, but it could also be the keyboard.

    Go to start

    Type ease.

    Press enter

Go to the bottom and click, facilitate the use of the keyboard.

Check all the boxes and click OK.

The keyboard will not work, but move and open programs as you normally use the computer and see if you get any errors.

It is a shot in the water.

By clicking on the White Star congratulations on the left is a way of saying thanks!

I would like to know how everything goes.

    Nice day.

    Greetings,

It seems to be a possible thermal problem with the graphics card fan.

The fan on the graphics card work? Remove the side panel to check. Yes, you can remove the side panel while the system is turned on.

Do not touch internal components. Just inspect.

The Geforce 315 is a riser. I've never replaced graphics card fans, but I guess it's possible.

A power failure is always a possibility.

Eliminate food, the more reliable is to temporarily connect a good diet known to the system.

The system was stable before the thermal emission of fan noise and possible? That should remove a power supply problem.

You can replace the graphics card. Your PC has many options that were available for purchase.

Please see here. Select "Options of material", then scroll down to 'Graphics '.

    See you soon!

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: hp is not closed or Hibernate (HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC)

    Hello

I have a problem. (First of all apologize for my bad English)

I just bought a machine (15 HP Pavilion Notebook PC) not even 5 months ago. And I noticed that the machine never goes and does not enter into hibernation mode.

The only way to turn it off is to restart and shut down just after the restart. If I use it for more than an hour and I turn off or hibernated, I the screen turns off but the fan in the computer and hard disk turns off, the LED start button not either. And this until the battery is empty (which is not good at all for the battery and the machine).

  • Pavilion dv6-1350us Entertainm: Pavilion dv6-1350 us running Windows 7 will not be closed

Have not used my laptop for the last 45 days and have not installed anything new. W7, 64-bit running. Just used on these days and it will not be closed. When I stopped it just hangs and displays that says: "if it please do not turn off or unplug your machine. Installation of update 1 of 1 ". This can last for hours.

I stop it manually with the power button which of course translates message when I start again that «Windows did not close properly»

I thought that since I had not used the computer laptop or literally turned on for about 45 days, that maybe I was missing a few important Windows updates, but when I go to Windows update via Control Panel and click on Windows Update to search for updates, it "just hangs" it thus, showing never updates available. Last update of the W installed was 26/03/16 and laptop worked OK.

    Any ideas?

I downloaded ccleaner pro (first edition) and scanned the hard drive. I checked 'fix all issues' and it worked! Whatever files or conflicts on the register or wherever was causing the 'hang up' were eliminated obviously that my laptop was able to stop. :-)

  • HP Pavilion p7-1210 door Desktop optical drive is not closed

This gate used to stand firm, covering an expansion Bay empty.  Now it has opened and remains open; won't stay closed not so closed manually.  My guess would be a kind of lack of jurisdiction, but I don't know how to take apart and locate the absence of spring or how to buy and replace it.

    Ryan1216,

Your link does on a real disk. Seems that you missed the facts.

    Hi bstaeger

You're right, a spring is involved.   Here is the Service Manual. Spread a sheet on the table and open the chassis.  To find what has happened, you will need to remove the front panel.   Which will expose the 2 sets of doors of DVD.   You can compare the top door when the door is faulty.    Spring is turned off/broken or there is more damage to the Assembly.  As you say that it covered an EMPTY Bay, you can correct it.  Fix the door or a closed inside band.

  • HP Pavilion G6 2252so closing down due to the high heat (fan was cleaned up)

I'm trying to fix a G6 model due to heat issues. The laptop is about 1 year. From what I have read on the internet, it is mainly due to the accumulation of dust. I told the owner that this was not covered by the warranty and offered to help with the cleaning of the fan. I completely cleaned the fan (incl. Remove the fan cover) and change the thermal paste on the processor. The problem persists. With the Speccy program, I read time of departure. for CPU to 90 degrees celsius. It's very different when the laptop shuts down. Sometimes it happends fast, at other times, he can run for hours. Even if the processor is completely cold, you can stop even before windows starts correctly. I managed to see the temperatures over 150 degrees celsius which should be alarming high. Even 90 degrees seems VERY high to me. The air blown by the fan seems not hot. It is only moderately hot and adjusts it fan speed according to the temperature. He begins to rise from more than 100 degrees. 90 to 99 degrees it runs pretty slow.

If I try to go into the BIOS, I have only seconds before the closed laptop.

From my point of view, he owes me two temperature sensors not working not properly, or the manipulation of temperature sensors is misinterperet, or simply the cooling system which is default. I don't know how the cooling system. The seat has a cobber lead wires for the heater and the fan. The tube contains a fluid? The liquid could somehow have vapourised?

Be warm and helping the owner canceled its guarantee, now that I've had the dismantled oidissement?

I tried to havn't updated the BIOS, because I'm afraid I'm going to brick the laptop, if it goes out during the process.

Where is the temperature sensor placed on the Board? Is the sencot'en CPU built in or is it place in over/under it?

How can I help the owner more far.

    Best regards

    @FrankH82

Hello again. I had actually read what you have written, but included these pages although I knew you did a large part of him he was already comprehensive, but also a reference to the point in case there was something on the picture in one of the documents that you may have missed, as a task to clean. I also realized that the BIOS update has been in the process as well, but guess you wouldn't do that, according to your previous statement, and that's understandable. I have not updated the BIOS, either when the PC has tendency to overheat and stop in the process (and brick it).

In addition, there is the part about hardware failure analyses. From what you describe, it seems to me that the fan does not work as it should and is the likely source of the problem. If the unit is running too hot that you mention and the outgoing air flow is not so hot then there isn't enough air stream passes through. If instead it turns out to be a sensor problem, which is most likely going to require a replacement of the Commission.

I have included the Service of Guide so that you can see how disassemble the unit safely if something had been missed in your household, and also, so you should have access to the parts list, if it turns out that the material is the source of the problem, since it includes the reference numbers for various sections that are replaceable by the customer including the fan and the heat sink (, motherboard, etc.) I have also included in part to answer your question on heat sensors that you request that are not listed as replaceable parts by the discreet.

With respect to the copper pipes, they are units normally sealed with a small amount of distilled water inside at less than the normal pressure to reduce the boiling point of water, sort of way, it is meant to vaporize to help dissipate the heat. The only reason why the liquid inside would be gone is if the seal in the hose is damaged. If this is the case then it should be replaced.

Now at this point, other than hardware problems as possible, as the system of cooling or the motherboard, which might need replacement, you can also look at the possibility of a cooling plate to increase the airflow. I myself for one of my laptops that I have left my son to use. He was very helpful while working in a warmer room in summer. It could be a quick thing to try so to make reliable unit until the likely hardware problem is resolved.

Finally if you don't find that it is the material that needs to be replaced you should try calling the technical support to the 800-474-6836 line. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/WW-phone-assist.html

    I hope this helps.

  • Behind closed doors when the fan comes on (HP Pavilion G6)

I have just bought a HP Pavilion G6 2295sa yesterday and spent the day installing my usual software on it (Office, Visual Studio, etc.).

Tonight the fan started to come strong enough (his rattling not or anything like that, just go fast I think). The laptop doesn't feel particularly hot so I don't really know why it keeps coming back.

However, the real problem is that whenever the fan lights, Windows crashes, I can not move the mouse, keyboard is not responding, I can't even turn off by holding the power button - I had to remove the power and battery.

Is this a common problem? Does more so tomorrow he'll go back and be replaced, but I wonder if its worth replacing it with the same computer laptop or not - if it's a known/common problem so I'll probably go something else.
