15-P152NU Pavilion: Pavilion/closed sleep problem

Hello everyone! I write for the first time and I hope I do it in the right section.
So, I recently bought a new 15-P152NU Pavilion and it is great but there is a very annoying problem right from the beginning that drives me crazy I tried almost everything I might have found on the Internet and still found no solution. So my problem is this - when I use the laptop for periods of solitaire (over an hour) it won't go to sleep or off. When I try to do a stop/standby the screen would turn black and the cover and the fan would stay. What I noticed is that if I try to shutdown/sleep when I used it for periods short (10-20 minutes), it would be nice and the fan and the cover would be turned off. But otherwise they would stay and my copmputer essentially dies and I have to press on and hold the power button and then start all over to get to the race. I tried to leave it any longer (I left it overnight) - without success. I don't know either it is based on the temperature of the cpu or a process which starts after a certain period of time, but I was really tired so I hope that I find a solution here. What I've tried so far is:

-Adjust the advanced settings in Power Options.
-Disable Hibernation
-Update/restore Intel HD Graphics Family and almost all drivers which could be updated / restored.
-Run the troubleshooter in Windows
-Disable Boot (Restart) fast
-Looking for a process that interrupts sleep and stopping by using powercfg-queries. All say no
-Looked for a setting in the BIOS that could prevent the stop/standby - found nothing related...

I'm really tired of this so I'll be looking forward to your answers. Hope someone can help me.

Hello, @Sparkles1,.

And thanks for the reply to my post. Fortunately, I managed to solve the problem. I found a solution after a long reading on the Internet. You, it might be useful for other users, I will share it than what has worked for me.

1. go in Control Panel -> Device Manager
2. expand System devices
3. find Intel (R) Management Engine interface -> right click-> properties-> driver

4. check the driver version. If 11.x.x.x , you'll probably face my problem.

5. uninstall the driver. Restart your computer.
6. download the old driver (version 9.5.15.1730 5 M) by https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=intel+management+engine and install it. Reboot if requested.

That's all. This did the trick for me. I hope it will be useful for other users too.

I'm sorry I didn't post my solution earlier, but I had completely forgotten that I had posted here. Anyway thanks for your reply. I think that the forums of HP is an amazing place.

Happy holidays!

Hello, a year ago, I bought a HP Pavilion dv6.  I recently updated all the drivers for it (he didn't have this problem before).

The problem with this is now when she goes into Sleep Mode, I can't do recover, I press the button, click it, press keys on the keyboard, nothing works.

When I do all these laptop seems to open upwards, all fans to run again, but the screen is black and it stays black. I always unplug the laptop and plug it back again.

    Help, please

    Thank you in advance.

Hello! What happens if you click power for a second or two? You must change your power options, so that they work the way you want them to run. I never let my PC pass a 'sleep' mode when plugged into the power supply. If I'm not going to use it for an extended period, I stopped him. Hate the standby and hibernation is even worse.

    Dokie!

On my PC, I press the power button for one second if if she goes into sleep or hibernation. I guess some of your power options has changed and you will need to change them back.

I have a problem with my laptop HP Pavilion 15, model 15-e055st, I bought two months ago with pre-installed Windows 8. I put tax at the operating system level to Windows 8.1 and seemed to work OK.  Then I used the HP Support Assistant to a few important updates, including BIOS and other software.  Following the HP update, that the computer would not Shut Down or sleep, but restart worked OK. When I try to stop or sleep, the screen goes black but the power light and the wifi of the keyboard light stay lit and the fan still works.  The machine will not this situation without me recover everything first do a hard reset by holding the power button down for five seconds.

I trıed restore the software to the State before the update of HP but the problem still existed.  Two days ago, I updated the computer, which cancelled the operating system of Windows 8.1 for Windows 8.0 but closing down / sleep problem is still there.

  • HP Spectre13-3010dx sleep problems, Shutdown

    Hello

I recently bought this ultrabook and I noticed that the sleep and stop functions do not work as expected. Restart works very well.

    Description of the problem

    • When you try to put the computer to sleep, the screen goes black, but the system stays on (lights on the keyboard, the fan spins again). I'm unable to recover from this State unless I make a difficult stop (hold down the power button / stop) or wait 5 minutes, how the computer off simply. This kind of... defeated the purpose of "sleep". Haha.
    • Same thing happens when I stop the laptop - screen turns off, turns on and the fan turned on and unless I turned off by force, laptop remains in a vegetative state for five minutes and then shuts down its own.
    • In both cases, I am unable to recover from the black screen. No response from the computer, regardless of the key combination (Ctrl + Alt + Delete, etc.)

I dug around here the support forums and noticed other people had issues similar, but on different computer models (i.e., Pavilion, dv6, etc.), so I tried to take these specific solutions to solve my problem, but there has been no result.

Steps taken to solve the attempt

    • The laptop came with the version of BIOS Insyde F.09, so I updated the version of BIOS to F.13. Does not solve the problem
    • I went into the BIOS and reset all default settings. Still has not solved the problem.
    • I found another thread that the user had the same problem as me, but on a different model specifications. I tried to use their solution to roll back BIOS. However, it has not yet solve the problem.

Note: Problem of this other user has emerged due to a BIOS upgrade, while my computer was delivered to me with this already existing problem.

From this moment any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

I am not convinced that it could not help others, but they gave me a day after I posted this, notification to install updates on my laptop and these updates fixes the problem. I do not know what updates took place, but they work.

For those who still know the problem, my apologies. I'm not really sure what HP update to solve this problem.

  • Edge 13 sleep problem win7 (intel)

    Hello

I think I have a sleep problem with my edge. If I close the lid, I can still hear the hard drive by clicking on current time to time and CPU fan. I checked all the power settings and it should go to sleep and nothing should stop going to sleep. Case may be where the cover he never sleeps, but if I choose sleep from the start menu, it will sleep. And I checked all the places it should go sleep by closing the lid.

Thing worries me a bit, it is that if I run in prompt command "powercfg - a" he reports this computer only supports the S3 (hybrid sleep) and S1 and S2 modes are not supported.

    Mystery solved:

    HW problem!

A magnet located in the lower right corner of the cover of the computer, under the screen rectangle shaped box is too low!

I tried one of my magnets "fridge" on the top of my power button and computer went to sleep state and _stayed_ in mode standby.

    * Sigh * I wonder what I should do to fix this problem? Magnetic tape to improve the weak magnet on my computer?

    Hi @ElyMayor

    Thank you for your response.

The last thing I can suggest to try a restore to factory.  Performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)

While the recovery, there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not already done so, it is now a good time.

Restore files that have been supported to the top using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 7)

Alternatively, you can contact HP support for assistance. They can access your system remotely to help alleviate the difficulties.

  • Error ' ' system timer was triggered "and hibernation / sleep problem.

Original title: Hibernation and sleep problem?

I bought a new laptop of Toshiba C55 series probably a little a month ago and for a while, it was fine, I had no problem. I had some mistakes with what is called a bad pool header, I've not experienced this once again. My main problem is with the sleep and hibernation. I went and disabled any parameter that would be extended automatically to my computer after a short period of time. It is set at only hibernate after like five hours, I'm never away from him that long. I don't want it to hibernate unless I put it specifically put into hibernation. I heard talking about hibernation is hard on your computer. I am usually only away from him for a couple of hours, so it's easier to have it in sleep so I can come back and get the right to return to work or what I was doing. I put it in mode 'sleep' whenever I need to go away for a few hours, for some time, I had no problem, he would go to the mode standby and stay there until I woke it. My problem is that most of the time when I put it in fashion watches, it goes to the hibernate after only a few minutes. WHY would he do that? And how can I stop it? There are times that I put him to sleep and he done as it should. Most of the time, but it goes to the hibernate after a few minutes. I don't want to make this period. Is there a setting I'm missing, I have conflicting settings on something? What is a small problem with Windows 8, or with my computer itself? The last thing I want to do is to restore it to factory settings and lost all the things that I have saved and have to reinstall my programs again.

There is also something else showing in my event viewer I've ever seen before. That means when he says "system timer was triggered." And can someone tell me what means the bad pool header error and how to fix it?

I found a solution, I noticed when I Hibernate the computer at night to go to bed is when it remains not in mode 'sleep'. I stopped it in hibernation at all now and it says in the mode "sleep" very well.

  • Hibernate, start, sleep problem Pavilion ts 14

    Hi all!

I just bought an ad, hew hp pavilion touchmart PC 14 I really liked. However, after I upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 windows, he began to start twice when I want to start. First of all, it shows hp logo and a circle below which is usual (in windows 8) and then it is wireless icon turns on and black screen appears on the Welcome screen. However at this point it turns completely black and it's wireless button turns orange (which means offshore) and he begins to start new logo showing hp and a circle beneath it. After that, black screen appears again and he's waiting like 20 seconds in this situation, then it shows the Welcome screen. It really annoys me because this whole process takes more than 3-4 minutes. Before moving to windows 8.1 it only takes 20 seconds.

Also it is not the only problem, when I want to put my computer on mode 'sleep', and wake it, it shows me the black screen and then it starts to act like I stopped it, no go "sleep" mode designates all running programs are closed, I lost all my data. I tried all the solutions on the internet, I've updated all my devices (also the bios) and none of them worked.

I checked my event viewer, and there are therefore 4 warnings each time when I start my computer on the list. He said: "the speed of the processor 1 group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor is in this state of reduced performance for 71 seconds since the last report. "Also, there is an error for a few seconds before these warnings in guard and says"the computer restarted after an error checking.  The bugcheck was: 0 x 00000113 (0 x 0000000000000017, 0xffffe000656dc540, 0 x 0000000000000000, 0 x 0000000000000000). A dump was saved in the: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY. DMP ". There is a relationship between this warnings and my problem I guess.

Edit: My MEMORY. DMP file is 700 MB! There must be a significant problem.

    Thanks for your help.

BTW, my computer is Intel 1.6 Ghz, 8 GB of ram, hard drive 750 GB, Intel graphics card and radeon.

The problem has been resolved. I just updated my graphics card and this site and it works like a charm.

  • P7-1534 HP pavilion desktop PC, stop and sleep problem

P7-1534 HP pavilion desktop PC, Windows 8, 64 - bit, sometimes when I turned off my PC, the PC does will not off it stays on and I have to use the power button to turn off the PC and today I put the PC to sleep and he did not wake up when I tried to wake up that I had to use the reboot of the PC power button. I did a diagnosis of memory and found no errors.

    Hi dwellas

I understand that you are having problems with the computer is shut down and not being able to wake up.

You can have an application or process that runs in the background that not stop correctly. Close all applications on the status bar that you can, make sure you first close all programs, and then try again. If this works, you should see what you have installed which can be the cause of this.
  • HP Pavilion x 360: stop and sleep problems

If I used my computer for more than an hour, it will not be stopped or he wake up from sleep mode. I have updated my drivers and graphics cards, as well as disabled the quick start. Hi @bn485,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook of 360 and problems with the Shut Down mode and sleep.  I see that if you change the balanced power plan options option in the book will help. Here is a link that will help you.

Go to your power options. Select balance, then click on change plan settings. Click on change advanced power settings. Then save changes. Restart your computer and see if the options have changed.

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

    You can also try:

In Device Manager, click the arrow next to display adapters to expand this category
Right-click on the graph, and then select Update driver software if more than 1 graphic adapter do 1 at a time.
Select search automatically for updated driver software.

The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

  • Strange to sleep with HP Pavilion Elite e9270f problem

I have a HP Pavilion Elite e9270f running Windows 7.  I have a strange problem sleep/hibernation began about two months ago, which makes me a little nuts.  I usually select sleep in the Windows menu when I want to put the computer in mode 'sleep'.  It takes about a minute of attentive of disk, and then light on this case turns from blue to yellow.  A few months ago, I would either press the yellow button, or press a key on the computer, and I'd hear the fans turns on, light would change from yellow to blue and the computer wakes and be ready to use.

Now (in the last two months), when I press the yellow button, the fan turns on, the light goes off completely, and nothing is happening right here.

To recover, press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds, then the computer turns off.  I turn it back on with the power button and then wait so he could get out of sleep of hibernation.  It takes about 4-5 minutes to make it usable.

Any ideas on what could happen?

    Thank you

    Jonathan

I tried the steps and processes in the article that you referenced.  Nothing seemed to work.  I had given up and finally thought that maybe the power supply was a problem, since it provided the day before.  To my surprise, a new power supply solved my problems of sleep.  Seems that the original must have had a problem keeping the tension during sleep.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Closing and with HP Pavilion 15 sleep disorders

    Hello.

I hope someone can help me with this.

I did an update around December 18, 2013. According to me, one of them was an update of the Bios.

Stupidly, I didn't have to restore then.

Since then the computer is not shut down or sleep properly.

If I use the power button or the sleep/shutdown software, the following occurs.

The power button turns on and the wifi light go to orange (airplane mode).

The laptop seems to be stopped otherwise.

    The fan remains on.

The only way is to press the button for a few seconds until the powers of sytem down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Follow the instructions in this document from HP

I suggest to use the second option after you have created a USB key with HP_Tools about this since the softpaqs diagnosis available on the download section of the web support for your notebook.

If you had your laptop with complete product number or name of the product, I would have been able to provide a link to the softpaq.

HP has made and sold more than a thousand different models of laptops and desktops over the years. It is difficult to help you if we don't know which specific model you own...

Method #1: If the laptop boots into Windows, you can retrieve your product number by pressing Fn + ESC key.

    Method #2:
Remove the battery and look in the compartment where the battery was installed. You should see a Service number with the printed part number and product name. Thanks for posting the p/n (with all alphanumeric characters) here. If you live outside of North America, it helps us if you post the country of purchase. Also post the type of processor installed. (AMD or Intel)

Don't forget to view the name of the installed operating system, if you haven't done so already.

Whenever I turn on the laptop, the internet conection is limited. I have to run the troubleshooting of Windows everytime I turn on my laptop to solve this problem.

I've updated the Wifi drivers through Windows Update, but the problem persists.

What can I do to fix this?

    Laptop model: HP Pavilion g7-2240us

There are many things that can go wrong with wifi.

Here is a good place to start your troubleshooting.

If the problem seems to occur when returning from Standby Mode, then you can move on to configuring power wifi Options.

Most wireless devices can be disabled by the system for saving energy. In some scenarios of sleep, the unit is unable to wake up properly when the system comes back from sleep or hibernation. To avoid this, set the parameters of the wireless adapter power management
