Pavilion dv4-2140us: my flag has no sound

ithasnosoundatall.tried by pressing the "speaker" icon but no chance to ortapping

Hello

Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp46501-47000/sp46567.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, stop the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

Kind regards

  • Pavilion dv4-1220us SRS Premium Sound

So I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1220us with SRS Premium Sound(printed on my casing and came with computer) I downloaded and installed the update of the BIOS for my laptop exact BIOS from HP (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-75532-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3860431&os=2100&lang=en) after you install the BIOS of my computer restarted. When it restarted it said I didn't have his windows automatically installed the IDT HD Codecc drivers but with SRS Premium Sound technology. I tried to download the audio drivers from HP (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2100&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3860431), but not its SRS?

How can I get my SRS Premium Sound work and back on my HP Pavilion dv4-1220us

I had the same problem that you have done and did a Google search, which led me to this post.  Like you, I noticed on flashing the BIOS version F.52, Windows "found" high definition Audio Device as it has never previously been installed.  I realized he killed my SRS sound.

I can tell you that flashing back to F.4A and installing drivers above brought back my SRS features in the IDT Control Panel.  I have flashing F.52 to F.4A (old version) without any problem.

Support for Windows 7 was apparently introduced in F.4A and F.49, by their release notes:

F.4a: Updates the OPROM Computrace to support the next generation of Microsoft Windows operating systems.

F.49: Adds support for future Microsoft Windows operating systems.

BIOS F.52 caused me the noise problem and also my laptop makes Beeping very occasionally when starting.  He also made Windows prompt me to "remove" the DVD-Rom drive in the taskbar...  Decommissioning of the BIOS took questions (and I lost one afternoon to do)

Just trying to help...  If anyone has these problems, try flashing to F.4A.

  • Pavilion dv4-2170-us has problem with connection light display

Is this something that can be fixed by a tech or should I get a new laptop?  I'm asking because there is another nother

problem with function of my computer.

    HI @compugirl ,

I understand this thing you display may have a bad connection that you have to play with, then fish on the screen to show the line.

Want to know if this could be fixed by a tech.  The short answer is Yes.  Here is a link to 2009decembre 17 December 17, 2009 HP Pavilion dv4 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service of Guide. Please note Chapter 3 page 3 for a list of the replacement screens supported by number of the part.

It may just be a connections loose as you said, either a bad connection cable...  The cable may have become defective through the opening and closing of notebook, during normal use.  Please note Chapter 4 page 27 for the removal of the screen procedure.  Before considering the replacement of the screen, I would try a new cable first to exclude it.  You should be able to buy the cable to any computer supply store.

    I hope this has helped.

    Hello

I have a Pavilion DV4-1199es, I did a downgrade to Windows XP, and I did it works ok, but when restart the laptop, the sound does not work.

If I install MS patch KB888111xpsp2 or KB835221 immediately again works the sound, but when restart works again.

    Someone knows how to solve?

    Thank you

    Founded by Mariza solution:

If you found that the sound was not working after reboot, follow the steps below

    1. download the devcon command-line utility, here

    2. extract and copy the file to c:\windows\devcon\i386\devcon.exe

    3. do the command line to restart MS - UAA automatically or just download this file

    Command line: C:\windows\devcon\i386\devcon.exe restart 'PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_293E & SUBSYS_3607103C & REV_03 '.

    Notes:

    1. the location of devcon.exe is c:\windows\devcon\i386\devcon.exe that if change you it, you must change idt.bat

    2. "PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_293E & SUBSYS_3607103C & REV_03' are for MS - UAA hardware ID, if you found in another name change it.

    3. place idt.bat in c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Menu\Programs\Startup

    4. the sound will restore within 6 to 10 seconds, because is NOT startup sound XP

  • Problems with sound after installing Vista Ultimate SP1 on HP Pavilion Dv4

I lost sound after installing Vista SP1 Ultimate on my HP Pavilion Dv4... everything was fine before. Help, please.

Go to the HP support website and search for Windows Vista drivers for your specific model number. Also look for recent updates, even if your PC comes with Windows Vista preinstalled.
    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/support.html

If there are Vista drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the installation card mother/chipset drivers, then the SATA, LAN, Audio, drivers and other device drivers.

  • HP pavilion d4790y has no sound, except pc speaker

Install the new bike video car XFxForce 6750 due to a bad card. now, my pc has no sound.  Driver installed in list of HP. I download the driver from reltex but are still unable to access any noise.  Manager device hardware displays but when I goto setup it says not available.

    Hello:

If the new video card has an HDMI output, it may have disabled the onboard sound.

Go into your BIOS. Looking for an embedded audio menu. It will probably have the auto value.

Change the Auto setting on " Enabled".  Save the configuration there and again when you exit the BIOS.

I hope you'll get your on-board audio back, and you should also have audio HDMI if you plug an HDMI cable from the video card to a TV.

  • HP pavilion dv4: starting HP pavilion dv4

My HP pavilion dv4 won't start. The battery is dead for a long time and I unplugged without any problems in the near future. But today my laptop won't suddenly start little matter what I do. I tried the 25 - 30 sec current drain thing but still nothing.

I should also mention that the plug shows signs of decomposition while the battery is dead. The lights on the desktop Flash for a second or two and then nothing. I searched the forum to find answers, but still nothing found. Please answer as soon as POSSIBLE!

It sounds as if it was the time to get a different notebook to replace the one that has the problem.

  • HP DeskJet 930C color: print to DJ 930C of HP Pavilion DV4 - 1287CL on a home network wireless.

I'm having a problem with my DeskJet 930 C.  It is a very good printer and worked for many years.  It is connected directly to a desktop PC running Win7 (32 bit).  I recently acquired a HP Pavilion DV4 - 1287CL (64-bit) and it attached to my home network.  I thought that I would be able to print remotely from the new laptop, but I have failed so far.

I downloaded programs HP solves printer installation problems, and this has helped me to find a driver for the Pavilion.  This driver works fine if I connect directly, via a USB cable to the printer.  However, if I try to print over the network, it does not.

I wonder if the problem has to do with the fact that my office use Win7 32 bit, while the laptop is configured with Win7 64 bit.  Is there an incompatibility problem?

For now, I'll be able to print by connecting the laptop directly to the printer, but I'd largely be able to work remotely on the laptop and send data over the network to the printer.  Is this feasible?

Thanks to anyone who can offer help!

    Tom.

Well, it has finally decided to work!  After trying everything I could think of, I went back and remove the printer flag and started from scratch.  I've implemented the homegroup network, allowing the use of the printer on the network.  Then, I pulled up the "Devices and printers" program on the Pavilion and added to the printer.

It showed immediately on the Pavilion as being available on the network, and I chose that the printer is connected.  Nothing to it!

So, I conclude that I did simply something wrong the other day when I tried to connect to the printer.  If at first you don't succeed, try and try again!  Or, in the case of computers, all clear and start over!

    I'll mark it as "resolved".

    Tom.

  • HP Pavilion DV4-1125nr cannot start after the update/update BIOS version F.12 to d.55

System: HP Pavilion DV4-1125nr PC Notebook

    Product #: FR922UAR #AB

    The system board ID: 30F7

Version of the BIOS (before the update): F.12

    OS: Windows 7

I tried to update the BIOS to d.55 which was provided by HP. After the successful installation the closure of new windows BIOS correctly. I restart the PC, HP Logo appears and then nothing happens. The operating system do not load or start at all.

I also tried to boot using the Windows 98 Second edition CD (to charge BACK), but it did not work.

    Please help me...

Fortunately I found a Solution to this problem.

Here are the summaries (and modified according to my needs) the steps that I've taken of the following thread:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/dv4-1140GO-won-t-boot-after-flashing-latest-BIOS/m-p/19698#M2730

    1. go to the hp site and download the correct version of your BIOS. In my case it had to F.12. Why not the latest version? Because there is no guarantee that the last one will work for you, know after measures.

    2. go where you downloaded the file and using 7 - Zip (or tool of your choice of course) unzip the contents to a folder of your choice. We'll get to that later, so keep this file open.

    3. use 128 MB or no matter what key-USB USB key (the smallest, you might find, because they said the smaller the better ) and reformatted to FAT or FAT32 click with the right button on the drive by clicking on "format".

    4. now that my USB is ready, go back to the folder where you extracted the file to update the BIOS (always open to the right of the folder?)

"5. If you have the graphics card Intel integrated like me, copy the ' 30F7F12U. FD"of the key USB and RENAME the file '30F7F12U. FD' at '30F7. BIN ". Remember that this name calling to order "DV4-1125nr. If you have a different motherboard, the system or the BIOS, the name must be determined according to the.

The next steps are exact 0.0 as follows (the link of a full detailed discussion is provided below), I simply numbered:

6 unplug the adapter from the laptop.

7 remove the battery from the laptop.

8 insert the USB key into one of the USB ports on the laptop.
Does not seem to matter which.

    9. press the 'Windows' key and the 'B' key

    10. connected to the power adapter.

11 press the 'Power' button on the laptop.

    12. when the LED is entered, letting go of the power button / stop and the two keys down earlier.

    13. After about 10 seconds the notebook started to read the USB key. While searching for the file, the laptop beeps every seconds.
The number of beeps varied, depending on what size of the key USB has been and
the number of files on the USB key, a single beep for many.
If the file was not found, the laptop will restart and try again.

    14. If the file is found then it took about 12 seconds for the laptop to load. No beeps sound not heard during the loading time.

    15. when it is responsible for the laptop has started flashing, indicated by beeps every 2 seconds. It took about 32 seconds.

    16. about 5 seconds after the ringtone had stopped off the laptop computer.

First I update my pc with the last BIOS (F.66), but did not work for me (operating system not loaded after HP Logo ). So I decided to go back to the old F.12 (the version that has been shipped when the laptop was purchased) according to the procedure described above. But the problem is where to find version F.12 as HP currently provides links only for the version of the BIOS F.66 to d.55 (in the drivers from the hp support site section)

Fortunately, I found a direct link to this version F.12 in the next thread.

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/HP-Compaq/304332-C700-CQ40-CQ45-dv4-dv5-DV6-hdx18t-Insyde-BIOS-recovery-using-USB-thumbdrive-2.html

    F.12 version:

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp40501-41000/sp40749.exe

This was F.12 and worked for me. Thank God Almighty I return my PC.

Thanks to all who contributed in the discussions above.

  • HP Pavilion dv4-1120br: doubts about the BIOS update for my model with the operating system current instaled.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1120br, I know that this model of HP laptop is old, but I instaled the 64 bit of Windows 10 on my machine and saw that my BIOS is version F.30 and the last of them available on the site of HP F.66 has.

The problem is that this model is not suport for Windows 10 because, as I said, is too old. Can I download and run the update of the BIOS for Windows 7 64-bit available in the Web site, or I need to downgrade my OS to Windows 7, update the BIOS and then pass it back to Windows 10?

    Thanks for the help!

    Cantarino

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Your second proposal is correct - as the updates to the BIOS on the HP site are specific to the OS version and if you try to run one for Win7 in Win10, it will refuse to run.

    Good luck

I currently have problems with my computer's CD drive.  He has been unable to read discs of any kind of music, DVDS and software programs for several months now.  The main problem seems to be with an inability to properly install the driver for the cd drive.

When running "find and solve the problems" of section "Troubleshooting" in the Control Panel, I get an error message that says that there is a problem with the driver for the cd drive.  Whenever I try to install the driver, he is not able to do so and contact the manufacturer of your computer.  I also tried to download all the updates and I get essentially the same message.

Also, here's all that I've done so far.  I followed all these steps, but the last two listed in the help or support of the site.  Here is the link I used:
