  I have HP pavilion dv7, which leaves me not in the BIOS to change the boot order.

  I have windows 8 32-bit installed and keep start normally any key (Esc, F9, F10, F1, F2 etc) at the beginning, is pressed or hold... it will not stop the boot and won't let me in the BIOS. All it does if the keys are pressed, it emits beeps but boot then anyway.

  I want to boot from USB and install WIndows 8.1 64bits.

  This could help you as it solved my problem yesterday. I disabled quick start (or quick start) in the settings menu of your laptop. I have turned on one day, not knowing that it prevents you from all the boot options.   So, I'm having a little problem with the wireless switch button on my dv7-7080eo. Although it is not officially supported by HP for the computer that is running Windows 8.1, I loaded the system top and it works pretty well outside the wireless feature.

  When you perform a cold start, I noticed that the wireless light is orange, indicating that BT and Wifi are turned off. If pressing the button after login, I get the message that "flight mode" or "... disabled" respectively. Despite the mode plane is disabled, Windows still will not let me activate the wireless or map of the BT of controls Wireless under settings.

  What I've noticed is that if I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up then again, press on F12 allows indeed to go white LED and the option to activate both Wifi and Bluetooth are able to be activated and also works if I do not allow them.   I have a DV7 6179us and never had any problems until about a month or two when it became super slow (it's almost impossible to even type). So yesterday, I formatted and did a clean install of Windows 7-64 bit. I tried to download the drivers from the HP support site, but the page won't display them. He just keep loading indefinitely.

Now, I need to reinstall my drivers but to do what I need to download and I can just download them from the site of HP support with product dection or the manutal method I get a logo of loading and it just sits there. • Pavilion dv7-6135dx screens on the video driver blue igdpmd64.sys after the platform update KB2670838

  Windows Update has delivered platform update KB2670838 Feb. 27.

  After that, any time I open Internet Explorer, I get a blue screen of death which calls igdpmd64.sys, which is part of the video driver.

  I tried to install the latest video driver HP site was for this machine, even though it is dated as a couple of years.  But he says that I don't have the minimum requirements.   !!??

  All major issues! Sorry to hear that you use in the blue screens, but you did a good job of troubleshooting. I'll answer the questions in the order that you asked them.

  1 and 2.  Here is a link to the Microsoft Forumwhere there was a similar question. It looks like uninstalling and hiding the implementation update will correct the problem. To uninstall an update,

  • Click Start
  • Program 'type '.
  • Click on programs and features
  • Click View Installed Updates (left)
  • Search for KB2670838.
  • Select this option and click on uninstall.

  To hide the update,

  • Click Start
  • Type "update".
  • Click on Windows Update
  • Click Find updates
  • Click "# important updates available"
  • Search for KB2670838
  • Right-click on it and click on hide (you can always restore hidden updates in the future if you want by clicking on "restore hidden updates" from the main screen of Windows Update.

  3. here is the correct driver for your laptop HP Special Page. I think you're probably already doing it correctly, but just in case. How many times have you tried this driver? Try a couple of times.

  3B. Yes you could certainly try the next previous driver.

  3 c. the drivers coming from Intel or ATI are almost the same driver in most cases. We invite you to try them because they can always be uninstalled. Just, they are not guaranteed to work properly for your specific model.

  4. There are two versions of the driver for your ATI video chip. These and all future versions will still be available on your driver page. Click on the link under the latest driver that says "available versions" for a complete list of all the versions that are never released.

  5. to reinstall the driver of origin or any other original software that is preinstalled on your laptop, you can use HP Recovery Manager.

  • Click Start
  • Type "HP recovery".
  • Click HP Recovery Manager
  • Click re - install the drivers and software.
  • Scroll through the list and select drivers or software to install. These drivers will still be available on your page of driver as well.

  6 here is a link on how to reinstall Windows from the recovery partition. In the links in blue at the top, click on "Recovering from the start (in the system startup) screen". This is a very simple process.

I have however questions locate this laptop out there to find the related parts. I tried to get two using search and hierarchy, and I found the part number for the machine using the hierarchy but no result when you click it.

  I also tried the parts through http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/ store, where once more no results don't come to try to search for the product (tried by product name and product number).

  Does anyone know if there is another way to find which parts are used for the machine in question? Thanks in advance.
