Pavilion Touchsmart H-100: will I get my HP Windows 8 back to normal startup logo?

As I went down to 8.1 Windows 7, when I switch to Windows 10, I'll be able to grab the trunk of style HP Windows 8 completely to the way it was before decommissioning?

@JTaylor1

Windows 10 upgrades using information based on your current installation. If you downgraded by using a set of stand-alone installation of Windows 7, there was no brand HP, the upgrade will not have this brand and logo no more.

  • How can I get Windows 8 back to normal?

It's a long story how it all happened. Basically, this all started when I decided to give Ubuntu a go. After spending with the installer and have finished installing, I realized that I had made a terrible mistake; I had cleaned up my hard drive completely.

Then I had to spend hours to find a method reinstall Windows 8. I have found a useful post on some forum (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Recovery/Windows-Vista-7-and-8-ISO-Image-file-Download-Links/td-p/2954293) and burned a recovery of Windows 8 ISO on my USB key. Installation was successful and I get back Windows 8, or so I thought...

It turns out that I had only an evaluation version. On my desktop, it says the following:

    "Windows 8 business valuation.

Valid Windows license for 90 days

    Build 9200'

I thought that if I could use the product key that is hidden in the BIOS, using Keyfinder, I could get working again with this, but nope. I got the error: "this product key cannot be used to install the retail version of windows 8'

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C855D-16J, comes preinstalled with Windows 8. I would like to know how to get this thing running again. I don't have any money to spend (not that I should have to spend anything) and as emergency aid, please. Some ISO or key or whatever it is. Just lose my files, I won't be stuck with a laptop that I can not use

    Thank you.

You will need to contact Toshiba and ask the recovery media, because you cannot use a trial license of retail to activate product key embedded for your licensed copy of Windows 8 that came preloaded on the laptop or.

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.

  • Image on the screen will continuously to a darker color, then back to normal colors.

    Original title: display dims

Recently the image on my screen constantly hard a darker color, then go back to normal colors.

It happens during the startup process, update the content on a dynamic web page (including the mouse over events) and when I move the mouse on quick start icons in the taskbar.  It is also occurring in the mmo game, which is more annoying.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll keep it in mind.

When I posted this question I had brought no other than Windows updates recent changes.  I had been a few days, see evidence of the problem at each start.

Last night I rolled the system back a few days earlier and have since had two on two boots in which the problem appeared.  If it returns then I will try to update the graphics driver.

  • Pavilion ak010nr: I want to just get rid of windows 10 and return to wind 7

    Hello world

I just bought HP Pavilion 15 ak-010nr games. She has windows 10 installed on it which doesn't work wonders for me. Infact, I'm sick of my new laptop and windows 10. I had high hopes for her, but in vain.

in any case, I'm trying to go back for win 7 by starting the Win OS 10. Thanks to UEFI, this is not the case or you can say that I am not able to remove it. When I try to start using the UEFI boot sequence, USB key is not displayed
When I try to start using MBR, well, my HARD drive is a GPT, it can noy intsaller win 7 in it. If I use disk management utilities, I have to let go of my partition to restore windows if somehow, I choose to use "clean disk".

so my question is how to install windows 7 withot (UEFI or MBR) lose my window 10 recovery partition?

Otherwise, I'll get sick in the coming days

Read what REO51ST just you tell the reason why you can not get or go to Windows 7. And if you want to go even Windows 7, then you will have to buy the product key for Windows 7 and find all the drivers of each individual material components in the laptop, assuming that they they have drivers for Win7.

    Hello

Contact HP and ask them to send you in vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a Dell, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • 2001FP, will never get support of Windows 7/8/8.1

    Hi all

I recently upgraded my Windows 7 laptop and I'm having problems with my monitor drivers. Currently installed is the pilot of the generic PnP monitor that will not let me pan past 1024 x 768. The monitor is a 2001FP and help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

The only factor that we offer to the 2001FP is for XP/2000 NOTE from the ADMIN: broken link has been removed / replaced this post by Dell >. You can try to load via the compatibility mode in Windows 7, but we can't verify that it works.

  • Pavilion dv6-4024tx: display random crashing after upgrade to Windows 10 (back to Windows 7)

    Hey all,.

I used to own a computer laptop dv6-4024tx Pavilion which I gave to my father to use after you have bought a new laptop for my part. It was in pretty good condition when I gave it to him, with the only problem being that she would get very hot unless a cooling pad was used (which I it comes with). At the time, it was running Windows 7 Home Premium with no problems and everything was fine. However, it might be interesting to note that while I had it I had problems with random blue screens while I was with the latest graphics drivers, so I drove back to the drivers supplied on the support page for this laptop. After I "upgraded" to Windows 10 (do not perform a clean install) for my dad, the laptop would randomly crash and display something like the photo that I have attached, before going empty and show again several times. Believing that it would be a problem with the GPU, I went and Display Driver Uninstaller to remove completely all AMD drivers and software, downloaded the latest driver on the AMD website and installed. It seemed to temporarily solve the problem, but as it's always within 30 days of installation, I offered to go back to Windows 7, but my father wanted to leave it and see how it happened. Oddly enough, for the next month, it never reported the laptop crashing again and the time period for return finally expired. The problem of course back then I tried the same solution from before but the noise continued. I tried to disable the GPU completely from the Device Manager, so that the laptop was running with Microsoft Basic display adapter. He seems to have stopped the fracas, but less than a week my father told me that he had crashed again.  I tried to restore the laptop to a system image I had done years ago, but I learned that you cannot restore an image to a different version of Windows System. Finally, as a last resort I backed everything up and made a real clean install of Windows 10, and the problem has not yet disappear.

My goal now is to return the Windows 7 laptop somehow. I can mount a virtual image of the system hard drive and access all the recovery files provided by HP, specifically the Recovery Manager. From there, I can do a recovery USB or DVD (s) we hope to restore the laptop to all conditions of factory (so theoretically return to Windows 7). I will try this, but I need a flash player more than 20 GB or several blank DVDs I don't currently. In addition, Recovery Manager says that this medium can never be created once, so it save me time and money (not to mention my last lifeline) if someone could please share their views on the question of whether this method would be successful or not. I know in case it doesn't work, there is always the question of registration of the OS by Microsoft, but I can cross that bridge when I get to it.

Sorry for the essay I just wrote, but this has been a problem for too long, and I am at a loss to know what to do now (apart from the purchase of another computer). If there are any questions I'll be happy to answer, and I hope we can get this issue is resolved. See you soon.

If you follow this step 3.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/675-system-image-recovery.html

You will need to select "format and repartition disks" as windows 10 will have changed partitions.
