  I just got a new computer (Windows 7), and it is time to reload Skype. But I very rarely use Skype, and I don't want to take up space in my system tray. I don't want it displayed every time that I reboot. Skype is VERY useful when I need, but I don't need that rarely. How can I fix it so it wouldn't be here unless I need?

  Open tools-> Options-> General settings. Uncheck the option: "Start Skype when I start Windows". Save the settings.

  To stop the Skype to run on your computer, right-click on the Skype icon in the system tray and select exit.

• Why prelude deleted my file names in the location only? (Images of P2)

  Using pictures of a Panasonic DVCPRO HD P2 camera and if I close my project file and re-open it ALL my file names resume their original names on the hard drive.

  I copied the images on a local HARD disk and checked their permissions are read and write.

  Why would this happen? It destroyed all utility prelude in my workflow.

  In addition, I can't use markers or creating subclips? I shoot only with the occasional GoPro and P2, is the addition of a lot of time and frustration of my ingest processes. Help, please.

  On the picture below you will notice this one and take numbers are kept in the rough cut titles, but in the tray they have returned to their original file name?

  Looks like prelude may not have access to write to your HARD drive. For P2 renaming via metadata. Ditto for the addition of markers and subclips.

  Please check if the folder where you copied the media are indeed defined for write access. If so, see if you can find all the files with the extension "." XMP. These are the metadata files that creates prelude.

  If you find that the XMP files please post one so we can see again.

  In addition, you have one of these same questions when you ingest/rename/log GoPro video? Personally, I use images of the GoPro and did not encounter any limitations. P2 is also supported as a prelude and a part of our complete test suite here at Adobe.

• Books to learn the logic

  Greetings,

  As a beginner of logic, I'm not find logic "Helps" to be very useful.  So, I am looking to buy a book that might be more useful.  I found a few on Amazon, all very expensive, so I would like to be sure I understand.  So I hope I could meet someone on this forum who has read several, or at least one, various books (Rothermich, Nahmani, Merton, Bustelo, Cousins, etc.).  and could you tell me which would best meet my needs.

  Here's what I want to learn:

  1. how to record audio instruments ('true') - voice, guitar, etc.  (In fact, I can do this already.)

  2. how to record several takes and overdubs more easily and more efficiently (once again, real instruments).

  3. how to compile ("comp") elements of various takes one shot more easily and more efficiently.

  4. how to mix in logic, including using the software provided for the compression, EQ, and reverb.

  5. how to manage the GUI - everything seems counterintuitive, user unfriendly and weird - I'm trying to reduce the width of a track or take and it's the contrary or if it changes the width of the other takes or titles I want to change.  And since Apple went to the practice extremely rude to use symbols instead of words for everything, something that defines it as all of the weird symbols.

  That's all.

  I'm not interested to learn how use the MIDI or record virtual instruments, at least not yet.  Want to just record real instruments and mix for demos at this stage.  Books where half of the pages are about saving virtual instruments are a waste of money for me.

  I know that some people prefer video books, but I prefer books.  I find embarrassing internet videos.

  I must say at the outset that I am a little biased to recommend books of logic, because I am one of the authors you mentioned (Edgar Rothermich), but at least I fit your profile, because I have read all the book. If you do the research, you will find that I am using a different approach which is based on explaining and illustrating the logic with a lot of graphics and diagrams instead of just the text only with the occasional screen capture. That's why I called my book series "graphically improved manuals.

  My books are available in PDF (more affordable), iBooks files and printed books. You can use the "Search inside" feature on Amazon to look at my books and you will see immediately what makes them unique compared to other publications. I would also advice to download a workbook of samples of the iBook from Apple Store to check the format of my books iBooks (all my books have versions of free sample book). These Enhanced iBooks are interactive multi touch iBooks (readable on iPhone, iPad, but also on your computer). They have a glossary of 500 + word with all of the terms that you should know in logic, and they all have a hyperlink in the book, so you can just tab on a Word and a small window with the entry of the glossary appears (with graphics). So, no more navigation back, at your own pace of learning.

  On the MIDI features. All the books of logic will cover the audio and MIDI functions because that's what makes logic. However, the logic is so deep and rich in features you will find a lot of things you haven't (yet). However, the important part is the Foundation and understanding of the application with GUI and its concept so you can find your way around. I think that my books will be the best to help you accomplish, they understand even a lot of additional information (audio production, OSX) that are needed to better understand some logic and workflow architecture.

  And finally and most importantly, if you buy a book for a software application, you want to book that is based on the current version. There is nothing more boring to learn the features of a book that has changed in the meantime, or other important features that are not even mentioned. With each update Logic adds tons of new features and changes much features and workflows. My logic books are the only ones (not to mention as the User Guide) that are based on Logic Pro X 10.2.   I noticed that over time, the netbook has been slower & slower. I also noticed that the file system was showing as the use of the high memory (approximately 160 000) but low cpu.

  As there was no viruses etc, I could not find the answer then decided to use the HARD drive to factory settings recovery. The Netbook was only used for occasional internet & had no recorded photos or files loaded etc.

  In any case, I pressed F8 (I think) & followed the factory reset instructions.
  It was ok & leaving the machine to do its thing.
  Someone's come & turned the machine off - mid reset.

  Now when I turn it on, I get the following message is displayed:

  Windows could not statr because the following file is missing or corrupt:
  /sysatem32/HAL.dll
  Please reinstall a copy of the above file.

  in fact, when I go in via SafeMode f8 etc... they all go to this message

  Now, all you can do is to install original Toshiba and DVD recovery recovery image.

  A Windows Update has failed. Also, now the DEP farm my McAfee... and other assorted fun stuff:

  I am early in naked before doing anything and asking what to do first.
  I NEED AN EXPERIENCED PRO ~ but who can afford it?

  DEP farm now all of a sudden my McAfee antivirus. And lately I noticed that my computer is answer snail-slow, then by restarting takes 10 minutes to load my desktop.
  OK, I use Firefox, update windows with Vista Home Premium. My system just got an auto-update for windows and a message stated that 1 updates could not be installed. (Have no idea which) or why.

  Now today my computer would not load my desktop when I turned it on.
  I rebooted, and it finally loaded... but the messages DEP again... telling me that my McAfee was closed, after I opted for 'Find a solution online' and nothing happened. The icon in the task bar disappeared and my anti-virus program so closed and went.

  Before you do anything, I want to know what is happening and hope for good basic simple step by step guide, because I know virtually nothing about computer programming and do not know what are the things.

  I can't run my anti-virus program now?
  Before I didn't even try, I thought that I was asking questions before attempting to find and open it.

  I only visit Facebook and YouTube regularly and sometimes to download a song or two on a free DLing program.
  My emails come through Yahoo only and very occasionally, hotmail.

  KB2467175 was released on April 12, 2011, and tons of users having problems to install. Turns out there was a problem on the end of Microsoft (a "detection problem") therefore MS re-released update April 21, 2011. But by then, the update servers have been flooded by Win7 computers worldwide trying to download & install (often repeatedly) a few other updates having a "detection problems.» So it seems that your Vista computer was caught in the maelstrom "Pefect Storm", unfortunately for you.

  That being said, you have a problem on your hands if McAfee Internet Security always fails to load or if you are unable to update its definitions manually. Guess I'll know more this question when you post your follow-up.

  When you view the VPN sessions in ASDM, encryption AnyConnect-Parent shows that 'none' should not say RC4 or AES, something like that? is a part of the traffic unencrypted? It is comfort to check that the SSL Tunnel shows like RC4 just trying to have a better understanding of this, if you guys could point me to a few articles explaining these behaviors that would be great.   Here is the basic understanding of the tunnels that are created when we connect to the ssl.

  Depends on the mecahnism which is no longer used, you can use the weblaunch or the stand-alone client

  Depending on the connection, you will create three different tunnels (sessions) on the SAA, each with a specific purpose:

  1. Without client or Parent Tunnel: It is the main session that is created during the negotiation to install the session cookie that is needed in case a reconnection is necessary due to hibernation or network connectivity issues, etc. According to the mechanism of connection, the ASA will list the session as a Clientless (Weblaunch Portal) or Parent (Standalone AnyConnect).

     Note: the AnyConnect-Parent represents the session when the client is not actively connected. It does not represent an encrypted tunnel. It's actually a database on the SAA entry. So if the customer closes to the bottom/beds, tunnels (IPsec, IKE, TLS, DTLS) are torn down, but the Parent remains until the idle timer or time of max connection comes into play. It allows the user to reconnect without repeating the authentication.

  2. -Tunnel SSL: The SSL connection is first established, and data are transmitted through this connection when trying to establish a connection DTLS. Once the DTLS connection has been established, the client start to send packets through the DTLS connection instead of the SSL connection. Control packets, on the other hand, always go to the SSL connection.

  3. DTLS-Tunnel: When the DTLS Tunnel is fully established, all data is now moving towards the DTLS-tunnel and the SSL tunnel is used only for the occasional control channel traffic. If something happened to UDP, DTLS-Tunnel will be demolished and all data will again cross the SSL Tunnel.

• After 4 years, my InDesign CS 5.5 decided it was a 'trial' and denied me access!

  I'll try to be brief.  I am the first buyer and user of Adobe InDesign CS5.5 software.  I have the CD and the box, in that he came as the original packaging of Adobe PageMaker 6.5 that I originally bought it years before, but Adobe smoking review PageMaker, so I've upgraded to InDesign CS5.5.  Then return in March 2012, I chatted with Samantha at Adobe, and she helped get into market and recorded.  Today my Adobe account currently shows it as being registered for me on March 26, 2012.

  Here's my problem:

  Back on March 22, 2012, when I chatted with Samantha it was because I had been using PageMaker 6.5 without no trouble until I've upgraded Windows XP to Windows 7.  After the upgrade to Windows 7, PageMaker 6.5 work well.  PageMaker no longer be revised, I bought an upgrade Version of Adobe InDesign CS5.5.  I asked Samantha "until I have OPEN THE PACKAGE UPGRADE" if I installed it, it would work, and she told me that since I had bought PageMaker 6.5 as a stand-alone product, he would.

  Now quick before 4 YEARS and a half today and all of a sudden, I get a message that my "Trial Version" has expired.  After 4 years, he decides that it is a TRIAL VERSION AND DECIDE to expire?  Which makes no sense at all.  Since the upgrade to Windows 10 months ago, I've not had problems with my InDesign C5.5 software so far.

  After following the instructions gave me my last Chat session, I uninstalled version of InDesign C5.5 I used so I could upload another version, however, whenever I did it (at least five times now) I have to enter the serial number of my prior software.  Although software is a Version upgrade, so, apparently, that software is looking for another serial number that he never locates because of so of uninstalls and reinstalls.  The original serial number for PageMaker 6.5: [deleted by Moderator].  I tried to enter, but it does not recognize it or the software and there is no option to enter a serial number of PageMaker, a different number of InDesign.

  During my last Chat Session I even let Rohit M. take control away from my computer to see what he could do and still nothing has changed!  So after using this program for 4 years, the software I bought abruptly changed to a trial and the trial ended?  How ridiculous!

  It's especially aggravating being I am a retired senior of 72 year and only use it occasionally for some volunteer work I do, I am very familiar with how it works and it does everything I need to do I have no need, or desire, to subscribe and pay $240 per year for some fancy programs complex, confused I would hardly use.  I not had problems with my InDesign CS5.5 never same software after upgrade my PC to Windows 10 until this annoying message popped up.

  HELP Please: the simplest solution would be to get a serial number I can enter which will be recognized by my InDesign CS5.5 software when it starts, because it does not recognize the serial number of PageMaker 6.5 that worked when I loaded it originally more than 4 years ago.  Unfortunately I can't find any source where I can buy an older version of InDesign CS5.0

  I have check the InDesign CS5.5 upgrade serial number, ending with 5489, and it is still valid and available additional activations.  Once you are caught by the process of unlocking you must face no difficulty activation InDesign.

  It's weird. Some games that I can play with the medium or high settings with little or no problem. I know that this is not a portable game, but I only play games occasionally. I'm not talking about games here either. It runs Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas without problem. In addition, it ran call of Duty: MW3 upstairs very smooth.

  The question is... can I allocate more memory on my video card? He said that the card can be a total memory approx. 1696 MB, but I know this isn't a 1.6 GB video card. I read some computers allow you to change the BIOS settings to add more memory, but I can't find anything. Im just surprised he plays these big games that he probably lag at least a little, but he can't play hitman: absolution of all and the video RAM minimum for this is 512 mb like Skyrim.

  There is no option in the BIOS to allocate more memory for the video card. Video card performance is optimized automatically during the game.

• I need to continually take data but only trend occasionally

  Hello. I'm new to LabVIEW and have been given the task of interfacing with a thermostat of LakeShore. My employer wants to my program to recover data continuously, but only to write the data to a file and a graph in a certain period. At this moment I VI data in a loop for which has a time delay inside and set the number of iterations that however many seconds or minutes to pass before it writes the data and then allow him to move on to writing to the extent of the file VI and the graph before returning to loop data. There must be a better way to do it with the timed structures or structures of event or something. My instinct tends to be to use a bunch of while loops for things, but I can't stop them with a button outside the while loop. Can someone help find a better way to go about this?

• 600xt only occasionally don't market/wake... light green on the AC adapter is released... strange

  In the last 3 weeks or so our TouchSmart 600xt goes into a strange state 4 different times... have been left unattended for a period of time that we return to find the machine seems to be off and does not turn on via the power button (the button on the top right of the screen). He's usually asleep after 20 minutes, and if the Start button / stop he sleep will be orange glowing... in this case the light turns off completely. In addition, in this case the green light on the power adapter is not lit. The behavior of power adapter is quite out of the ordinary; its light never seens is disabled, even if the PC is turned off completely. But it is when this happens.

  The only recourse seems to be to unplug the power adapter, and then plug it back, after which the green light on the adapter lights, the power button lights up and the machine can be turned on by the power button.

  Concerned we will lose some files if stops keep occurred. We had the machine almost a year and this is a new behavior in the last 3 weeks. Note, however, that during each sleep cycle didn't appear. (The machine goes to sleep after being unsupervised on average 6 times a day and it produces "only" 4 times he slept in the last 3 weeks).

  Thoughts? Some circuit for energy in the power adapter went wrong maybe?

  I have come to resolution on this, but in a quite ridiculous way, with HP. My machine is under warranty so I called HP support. They have paid shipping for me to return the PC. The shipping box included explicit instructions, not to include the power adapter. I've included anyway so they could use it in the trials, including a note on the behavior and I figured the adapter not the PC. They I returned the PC with a note saying they were unable to repro the problem, and highlighted with a copy of the notice with the part that I intentionally did not follow! The log files indicate this was true, but he had not yet left on the MTBF I mentioned in the note... So even if they had used the adapter in the test, which is not surprising. The problem reappeared in the days at home. I called again. They paid shipping again. I've included the adapter again. This time they kept the PC on in the laboratory for several days until something of villain that has happened with the graphics drivers... not the unexpected loss of power and not something that I've never seen before in the newspapers. They replaced this material returned set. The problem reappeared in the days at home. I called one more time and said ' Please, can you just send me an AC adapter... If that doesn't work I'll send it back.» They did it. And I started using it. The problem is not reappeared since.

  My wifi is de-energized occationally and almost a year. the only way to re-establish the connection must go through as an administrator. but I sometimes do a reboot just to get the next Administrator option. HP has updated my drivers a month ago but I always what happens.

  from solutions offered and found that the first link puts me a windows solution 10 but the problem was before I was windows 10, I ran the fix link and with theinfo I found something on Google that was to check any material connected with a USB key. I found that the USB hub I was using wasn't material and since the line I had no disconnections to date. I hope that had solved the problem, but only time will tell

• Password Vault only works for collecting occasional site passwords. My Norton password safe worked very well but is not compatible with Firefox 4. I wish I had my Norton Password vault back or difficulty of Firefox.

  The password vault does not collect and save my password information regularly. I was not able to identify or determine why she collects some and other than just, it comes even to the top.
