PC sometimes hangs at shutdown
Vista Home premium 32 bit desktop PC
Vista SP 2
Let me first prface that this not happen all the time or evem most of the time. It is once in a while.
I'm going to restart my PC. The process begins, and then I get the screen that displays 'Shutting Down' with the small circle of rotation.
I'll wait a minute or two and then it's still in the same State, with the circle of rotation.
So, I have to press the power button on the Tower of the CPU until it stops. Then I wait a minute or two then turn on the power.
The computer then starts without a problem.
I see no problem in Event Viewer.
later the same day or the next day, when I select the option to reboot, the PC stops and restarts without problem.
My questions:
-any thoughts as to why this happens? (as I say it happens only once in a while)
-J' read that closure to unlock the unit off can cause problems. As my PC restarts without problem, how can I know if the judgment damage caused?
Hello
Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?
This can occur because of corrupted system files or due to performance issues.

I hope that I do not impinge on the patience of the people. I'm really seeking help on an issue, but that overlap with others because they may be related.
My computer has suddenly started to hang on shutdown. I searched the forums for an answer, but without success. Several similar cases but none are of no real help.
Someone has an answer that actually healed that they know or may have encountered?
I wonder if something works in the background is the culprit in failing to turn off completely. With this in mind, I visited 'msconfig' and disabled a few Services but many that I don't know everything, so I hesitate. I am posting my action below.
I ran sfc/scannow and disk cleanup. Defragmentation is done regularly.
I am running Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate on a high-end computer...
I ask pretty well, but I wonder if there is a Microsoft MSVP who knows enough about the Services and can quickly tell me which of these I can disable safely. I'm of age 80 years so no longer do any business on my computer. I play the odd game - MW, Call of Duty, Rage et al.: no multiplayer - and to organize my medication with Excel...! - but that's all.
Thanks in advance for any help

2012 LabVIEW to hang at shutdown, now hangs at launch ("Initializing menus")
Hello
I'm 8 64-bit Windows and LabVIEW 2012 32 bits (12.0f3). I started using a few days ago and was never able to stop properly LabVIEW. I could close my projects, but when I tried to leave LabVIEW from the home screen, the GUI just stop responding, and I have to kill him by force. Then, I installed the last VIPM and noticed that I can not stop properly is (I think that VIPM is implemented in LabVIEW?). None of my programs not with LabVIEW has this problem.
Then I tried to install OpenG within VIPM, which launched LabVIEW himself. However, who hung on "Initializing menus.
I don't know if VIPM had nothing to do with it, but now I am unable to boot LabVIEW altogether. Even after restarting my machine (using the restart option, not of Windows 8 Hybrid Boot), LabVIEW cling to the "Initializing menus. Task Manager shows 0% CPU activity, and LabVIEW had taken only ~ 20 MB of memory.
What could be the cause and how can I solve this problem?
Thank you
It was my antivirus which seemed to interfere! Turn off Avast! FREE Antivirus 7.0 makes LabVIEW behave properly.
If someone has experienced something like this before?

My Vista PC crashes with the screen of closing down. How to get a diagnosis and repair? Research help and arrived at a kind of diary of 'problem', but no mention of these problems. I think maybe Windows is so far to stop it can not log this as a problem.
Hi Beyond_A_Joke2,
Let us try these methods to refine the question.
Method 1: online antivirus scan
Perform a virus on your computer online scan to see if the problem is caused by a virus.
http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
Method 2: safe mode
Try to start your computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
If the problem does not occur in safe mode, and then try Method 3.
Method 3: clean boot
A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. Let us check if software is causing the problem by following the clean boot procedure.
To perform the clean boot procedure, follow the instructions in the link below.
Step 1: Perform a clean boot
Step 2: Enable half the services
Step 3: Determine whether the problem returns
Step 4: Enable half of the startup items
Step 5: Determine whether the problem returnsStep 6: Resolve the problem
Step 7: Reset the computer to start as usual
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista

After checking the problem, turn the computer back to the Normal mode.
Uninstall or update the program that is causing the problem.

Separated from this thread.
I'm having the same problem, except that even when I force power off and then try to turn it on, the system starts with the endless even disconnecting message. Help!
You have no other choice than to. If the computer does not then try last known good Configuration startup and if it does not try the system restore.

Windows media center takes a long time to start and sometimes hangs up requiring a reboot
Windows Media Center does not work properly
Hi lewt000,
1. don't you make changes before the show?
Step 1: We recommend you to check if a non-Microsoft program is causing this issue. To do this, try the following steps:
a. open the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
b. Article, follow "step 1: perform a clean boot" the implementation of these measures will disable all programs not Microsoft currently running on the computer.
c. restart the computer and check if the problem persists.
d. If the problem does not persist in the boot, it means that another non-Microsoft program is causing the problem.
e. to find the program that is causing the problem, try "step 2: enable half the services" to "step 6: resolve the problem.
f. Once you find the culprit, check if there is any updates to update or fixes to the program. If you find, install them and check the difference or reinstall the latest program.
g. Article, follow "step 7: reset the computer to start as usual.Step 2: If the problem persists, check the event logs for more information and after return details
a. see What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)?Visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

IMAP operations freeze sometimes Thunderbird
I just changed using a new computer with Windows 8.1. Thunderbird (latest version 31.2.0), now sometimes hangs (not responding), for a minute or two for the IMAP operations. It didn't happen in Windows 7, and all parameters are identical.
I have not found no consistency to the problem at all. Sometimes it doesn't happen for a while, other times it happens on each IMAP operation. It can happen when you move a message from one IMAP folder to another, or when you delete a message from an IMAP folder or by emptying the trash IMAP.
Things I've tried and that made no difference:
-Create a new Thunderbird profile.
-Disable all add-ons.
-Change the "maximum number of connections to the server to cache" to 1 for the IMAP account. It took 4 hours of troubleshooting, but I finally found the culprit.
Windows Search
He did not freeze while Windows is in Mode safe mode with networking.
I uninstalled Kaspersky, disabled all non Microsoft Services, stopped all startup items, then started turning off Microsoft Services. Finally I could reduce to Windows Search. Then I re-enabled all the rest but Windows Search, tested, then activated Windows Search again.
Ultimately, the way to solve the problem is in the Thunderbird Options:
Menu bar: tools: Options: Advanced: general tab: systems integration:
Clear the check box "Allow Windows Search search for messages".

Tecra A2 does sometimes when moving between programs
Tecra A2 occasionally freezes and does not respond. If I end task and launch it again it works normally. Sometimes I have to restart the computer until it is fixed. It happens often when opening Outlook or Excel to Word trip. Just to uninstall the OS, reformat the hard drive and reinstalled but it stil has frozen two times in 6 hours today
> Tecra A2 occasionally freezes and does not respond. If I end task and launch it again it works normally
It is a normal behavior if an operating system is busy.If a lot of process and services are run in the context of the operating system, so the system could sometimes hangs.
In you case, I would recommend the whole OS and surveillance programs simple and check which application could cause frost. But note; Sometimes a problem of overheating could cause these issues also.
Usually, the temperature rises to a higher level if the CPU works with maximum performance. If cooling modules n t work properly then the CPU cannot be cooled and the laptop could start to freeze.
In such cases, it s advisable to clean the fans with a jet of compressed air.Good luck
