PC Specs for card NI PCIe-1427

I am currently working on a project that will use a card NI PCIe-1427. The engineer has a specification for a 6 core dual processor system. I think it is exaggerated. I think that a single 6 core processor will have enough speed for the system. I have no experience with this card. Can anyone weigh recommendations?

The acquisition of the image will not take much processor power.  Probably a small fraction of the base.  The rest of the processors will be used for image processing and other functions.  The number of cores necessary depends on what will be done with the images and how fast to do.

I suspect that the engineer who has selected the plans of the computer to do a lot of processing.  However, total 12 heart sounds like it might be overkill.

There are two cards I have installed on this computer. The two cards are PCI-MIO-16-4 & PCI-6713. They all have two cable connecting to each other on top. The current operating system is Windows 7 64-bit with 4 GB of memory.  I went to the drivers OR support and typed in the serial number for these two cards. The two cards came back with the same drivers. That is NEITHER-DAQmx Base 15.0. Installed the driver NOR-DAQmx Base 15.0, but shows Device Manager always the exclamation point on those two cards. • How to trigger the camera and light pulsed with PCIe-1427

    Hello

We recently bought an acquisition card NI PCIe-1024 and the NI Vision Builder.

I am new to imaging applications and need support to get started.

    Application:

We have a camera viewing a scene which is illuminated by a pulsed light source (e.g., a strobe).

We want to use the PCIe-1427 as the master for the outbreak of the camera and strobe light.

The first trigger (Ch 0) transmitting signals TTL to camera to 30 Hz (30 fps).

The second trigger (Ch 1) send bursts of pulses to the strobe light to e.g. 10 kHz. This trigger must only send impulses all other images, so that we can save alternating light and dark images in order to perform background subtraction.

I tried to set up the channels of the trigger and create virtual channels in the measurement and Applications Explorer, but apparently this is not possible.

Since it is an application critical time, I'd appreciate an example vi that sets up the channels two trigger and download managers in the camera to get started on this application. Thank you.

Software of NEITHER: LabVIEW version 10

Materials: Device for the Acquisition of Image (IMAQ) PCIe-1427 driver Version: NOR-IMAQ 4.4 OS: Windows 7

    Thank you, Justin.

I'll copy this request to the machine Vision Group as you suggested. I looked at the link sent you me and made progress (limited). I can see on an oscilloscope trigger signals, and the camera acquires images. However, I only managed to do work for pulse trains continuous, not a shots or bursts of pulses.

No need to answer that. Thanks for your help.

  • How to make your own Board BNC connector for 37 pins PCI-6010?

This is first time I am doing data acquisition and the BNC-2110 present can be connected to PCI-6010. How to make a Board for it?

I'm not sure what you mean by "some"; The BNC-2120 exposes all channels HAVE and AO on connector 0 of a standard feature of E, M or X series.

    • Eight BNC connectors are for eight differential channels of I. For example, for the BNC connector labeled 'I 0', the Center connects to the 'I 0' pine and the outside connects to pin 'HAVE 8'. (The BNC-2120 probably would not be a good choice for someone who wanted to use the channels in unbalanced mode).

    • Other two is for the analog output; the centres are ' AO 0' and 'AO 1' and transmissions are related to "AO GND".

    • There is another connector BNC for PFI 0; all other PFI (with the exception of the 10, 11 and 15) are broken down as screw terminals.

    • Other BNC connectors connect what either directly (the unit is powered by the + 5V line but otherwise works autonomously, and the "user defined signals' are connected to terminals to adjacent screws).

It seems like it wouldn't be difficult to have a cable that was going on a PCI-6010 the 37 pins on the connector 68 pins on the BNC-2120. I'm a little curious as to why we do not have one. Possible reasons off the top of my head which may explain why not:

    • cards PFI/description would be a mistake (for example, on a series of E/M/X ' CTR 0 SRC "PFI 8; on the 6010 is PFI 0.)

    • No digital lines (E/M/x series P0.0 P0.7 via are independent; on the P0.0 6010 P0.5 and P1.0 by P1.3 are shared with PFI lines)

    • Confusion about being able to connect to other devices that we sell with connector d - SUB 37 pin, but who do not use a compatible pinout (for example, the PCI-6239, PCI-6510 or the NI 9237). Here again, a PCI-6703 also uses a 68 connector pins, but has a completely incompatible pinout as well.

But it seems that those who would be pretty easy to deal with, because it is useful to be able to connect to the BNC-2010. Maybe it's an idea for the Exchange of ideas information Acquisition?

Anyway, if you want to have pushed BNC for everything on your Board of homebrew will need you:

    • 8 or 16 BNC connectors to HAVE, depending on whether you want single-ended or differential. For differential, the centres are GOT by AI 7 0, and transmissions are AI by AI 15 8. For asymmetric, the centres are HAVE 0 through 15 AI and transmissions should all connect to GND AI.

    • HAVE a sense (I think that you only need this if you use channels Nonreferenced Single - Ended (NRSE). See also: noise considerations for analog signals and field wiring.)

    • Two for AO (centers are AO 0 and 1 AO, outers times connect to AO GND).

    • Ten for PFI/digital lines. Outers will connect to GND D.

Up to a maximum of 29. You want maybe less, depending on your application.

  • The second image lost in CAN communication when use card NI PCI-CAN/XS2

I recently had a problem on CAN communication.

I need commmunicate a Cluster with CAN BUS, baud rate is 500 Kbps, the BOX is card NI PCI-CAN/XS2. The operating system is Windows XP.

normally, the PC send a Cluster command, then reread a frame of data of the Cluster, but for some controls, the Cluster will return two data frames, and the program on PC cannot receive the second frame, he lost.

I searched the forum, most of her results is the overflow of CAN BUS error, which make the CAN setting lost, but there is not an error on my program report and baud rate is not that fast, I also use another port of the NI PCI-CAN/XS2 to monitor the bus CAN, the second frame of data never appear When I can replace NI CAN map vector CanCaseXL (CAN card) and call of CanCaseXL DLLS in labVIEW, it can get the second CAN fit, the vector CanCaseXL monitor can get the second image data also.

Yes, is there a software/hardware configuration must be done to get the second block of data?

the attached photos are NOR-CAN/vector ALLOWS to follow and CAN init/write & read in my program.

Any reply is appreciate! Thank you

    Hello iwantofly014,

I don't know that the framework is not lost.

Could you post your code?  In particular the data Get VI?

Also, can you make an indicator of the output of the ncReadNetMult?

It seems you are trying to implement the UDS and KWP2000 Protocol.  Is this possible?  We have a product that already implements these two protocols and really simplify this type of application.  Its called the Automotive Diagnostic command set.

In the above link, it is mentioned that it can be used as a Flash cache. If this is the case, I don't think you should ASM for her as ASM aid would create groups of disks and that IMO, would be for permanent files. But that's purely a guessed answer and I reserve the right to be wrong.

  • HP Z400s under spec for HD in CS4 edition. What is the best way to go?

    Hi all

I recently bought the three HP Z400 workstations for editing XDCAM EX 1080i (HQ) a timeline in Premiere CS4. It's a very hasty and ill-informed purchase. Unfortunately I only came across the Adobe forum after that I ran into trouble with 1 and 2 workstations. After reading a lot of useful messages, it is quite obvious that new two of my machines have the ability to edit full HD 1080i chronologies stably.

Before I describe my problems, I'll describe my system specs:

    Z400 1 workstation

    Windows XP 32-bit
    Xeon W3505
    3 GB RAM
    GPU: Quadro FX 1800
    C: 500 GB OS/programs
    D: 2 x 500 GB Raid 0 zero

    Z400 Workstation 2

    Windows XP 32-bit
    Xeon W3520
    3 GB RAM
    GPU: Quadro FX 3800
    C: 500 GB OS/programs
    D: 2 x 500 GB Raid 0 zero

Z400 Workstation 3 (this machine works well and has not had stability problems)

    Windows Vista 64-bit
    Xeon W3540
    8 GB RAM
    GPU: Quadro FX 3800
    C: 500 GB OS/programs
    D: 2 x 500 GB Raid 0 zero

While I was able to edit clips XDCAM EX 1080i HQ on all these systems, work stations 1 and 2 are very unstable, crashing regularly, especially when rendered.

I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to technology, so after reading through the many excellent posts here, I'm still not entirely sure which is the best way forward for me to put jobs 1 and 2 to the height. It is clear on reading these posts that I more capitalized on GPU cards, underestimated the importance of the RAM and committed a fundamental error of my choice of operating system:

    • In the spirit of the community - are the specs for Workstation 3 enough for stable HD editing?
    • What is the best solution with 1 and 2 workstations? Reader threads I guess I upgraded Vista 64 bit OS and spend at least 6 GB of RAM - it would be enough? If this is not the case, what do you suggest? In addition, the existing processors (w3505 and w3520) are quite fleshy for work?
    • And this could take liberties... all topics widely discussed on this forum; I'm having trouble getting my head around storage. What is the best configuration that I do with my current gear (z400 motherboard) for HD editing (including adding additional disks)?

Thanks in advance... I'm not much of a techie, so all the words of wisdom are like gold dust.

    See you soon,.

    James

Your CPU 3505 is only a dual core chip.  Certainly working on upgrading the CPU on a quad core.  I don't know if HP offers capabilities overclocking on this motherboard single processor.  If so, you could try prejudice overclocking guide lines since it is structurally almost identical to the i7-920.

To the power of the processor which is the most important point for the creation, you can use one of these processors W3520 / W3540 / W3570 (2.66 to 3.20 GHz, 8 MB L2 cache) If you prefer do not overclock or if HP didn't you provided the functionality in the BIOS.

Certainly wait (I think that it is the date) October 22 to Win 7 64 bit OS it is certainly faster than Vista 64.

Incidentally, I don't know if you have ordered these units, but it may be useful to call HP and see if you are eligible for a free upgrade to Win 7.
