performance environment poor windows

I work with a PIX 515e which I'm going to slow down the flow in a Windows network environment. There is a database on the DMZ port server and the operating system is Windows Server 2003. Worksations inside port know slow database performance. Copy a file from the server to the workstation also seems to expose a lot of lag at the beginning of the file transfer. After the initial delay, the file will be appear to transfer normally.

I've seen uses CPU and memory. There seems to be no problem there. I haven't checked the syslog messages. There is no NAT inside the demilitarized zone. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Thank you!

Hello

Have you checked the settings of duplex and speed on server and PIX interfaces?

Look for errors on one of the interfaces also if you have not already.

You can use IPerf or WS TCP to compare the connection in the demilitarized zone and through the firewall.

  • HP PSC 2410 all-in-One - use in 64-bit environment of Windows 7

    Hello

    I've had this all-in-one HP PSC 2410 printer for a few years now and it has worked quite smoothly in an environment Windows XP Pro SP3 for the time.

    A few months ago, I bought a new computer system and went to the Windows 7 64-bit OS (not interersted in Windows 8 at all) and I installed the printer successfully and it works, the software suite provided with the printer on the CD will not install for this environment and so I have more access to the different Maintenance Options that were available in Windows XP Pro OS such as cleaning and fax options.

    Looking for something for Windows 7 64-bit operating system threw up two options - update driver and utilities Assistant tool.   After getting off the route to update the driver, no software suite was available, and in fact the update said that the driver has been installed by Windows 7 automatically.  This seems to be the case as the printer works very well in print mode, mode of scanning (in the desktop menu) and it detects SD cards in the slots.

    However, there is no software to allow me to fax or clean or do any of the other options available in the HP Suite provided on the CD.

    Down the utility road has downloaded me a file - HPPIW. EXE - look at my current installation of the printer and check with HP for updates.   After several attempts, the utility simply CANNOT find my printer even if it is installed, running and even windows sees!   No amount of recycling the POWER button or restarting the computer allows this utility to detect the printer at all.  It is installed via USB on PC family of 64-bit Windows 7 and windows updates current are always fully updated.

    I considering buying a new HP OfficeJet 8600 Pro Plus to use as printer family with Windows 7 system - and move this HP PSC 2410 upstairs to connect directly to my Office Windows XP Pro SP3 staff and use the original CD to install it.  My Canon IP4200 Pixma just die on my own PC, on the floor.

    However, until that I do this, are there any available software suite that could work in the environment of Windows 7 that would allow me to use the various functions such as fax and cleaning that were available under the old XP environment and gets through the CD?  As a result of software never updated for Windows 7?

    Thank you

    Hi BAW9DV,

    I can't wait to hear that you have questions.  While there isn't a utility software that will complete the desired tasks, maintenance can be completed from the front of the unit.  Windows also has a request for the fax from the computer so that may work with this device. See the information below which can activate the functions you want.

    Sending faxes:

    1 fax and scan Windows use

    A. Type Windows Fax and Scan in the search box

    B. set up Fax for use.  Click here to see the Microsoft documentation for usage.  Note: This is a 3rd party Web site. HP and I are not responsible for the content of this site.

    C. Select New Fax

    Front panel maintenance tasks:

    Running the print cartridges clean utility click here

    Setf-test page click here print

    Evaluate the test page click here

    Align the cartridges: press Setup, press 5, then press 2

    If you work around options are not acceptable the 8600 model would certainly meet your needs in comparison with this camera.  However, I encourage you to contact HP to see what upgrade options are available for this device. It will probably be another Photosmart design unit, but in many cases, upgrades are available at a discount to our valuable clients guaranteed.  Global coordinates can be found here.

    PS If you pass through technical support, remember to ask questions on packs.  Extended warranties may also be available at a reduced rate for the upgrade.

    I hope this helps!

    I have two test bench one in English and the other in Japanese.

    For English, I got the max VSI server performance as 112 virtual machines

    For Japanese, I had performance max VSI as 124 VMS server.

    May I ask why this is happening since both languages are tested in the server with the same configuration.

    Japanese OS will occur more English OS? If yes why?

  • Poor performance on PC Windows 7 wireless

    Hello

    Since I bought a new desktop PC with windows 7, I got network problems.

    Internet connection from my PC has a performance very low network for some reason any, while other machines in my home work perfectly well without any problems.
    I sent my PC to the manufacturer (Medion) so that they could take a look, they thought that the NIC (a Realtek RTL8191SU Wireless LAN 802.11n) has been broken and replaced it.
    But there is still the problem, I tried to update my drivers and even tried to use an alternative wireless adapter but still no luck.
    I have a modem ZTE H220N (KPN Experia box using glass fiber) with 30Mbps.
    I tried to play with my settings my modem wireless and still nothing. There is no update available for the modem because the modem is quite bare.
    The only thing that helped was using a wired connection, but it didn't really solve the problem wireless since the performance falls down once I have it plugged into.
    Note that I tried to plug the other machines to the AP with the same distance between the PA and my PC. I also tried to connect to the other access points with my PC and still the same result.
    Troubleshooting Windows displays all problems.
    I'm sorry if this question has already been resolved and I hope I can find an answer quickly.
    Thank you

  • MT poor performance vs modern Windows XP

    VM Workstation 11.1.2 on host Kubuntu Linux 15.04 64-bit, Intel Q6600 quad core with 8 GB of RAM.

    Since a long time (years ago), I experience a significant performance difference between a Win XP 32 bit comments against newer versions of Windows (high Vista, 32 and 64 bit). It's that keep me from a workstation with Windows 7 and more.

    A single thread task composed of successive shooting process and get its output takes 3 x times more on modern windows on XP comments. On another type of task (run the test suite to a compiler, which runs thousands of short-term, current process process on the parallel of available CPUs), modern Windows clients require also 3 x times more. It is the allocation all processors from the host to the virtual computer (only a virtual machine is on at any given time). If only one processor is assigned to the virtual machine, the individual process take less time to run, but the time required by the parallelizable tasks is worse.

    By comparison, Windows XP prompt takes 35 seconds to run the test suite, a guest of 64-bit Windows 8.1 takes 100 seconds, which is almost the same as it takes on an old Atom N270 Netbook.

    The Windows XP client is using binary translation and this special settings:

    MemTrimRate = "30"
    mainmem.backing = "swap"
    sched.mem.pshare.enable = "FALSE"
    prefvmx.useRecommendedLockedMemSize = "TRUE"
    monitor.idleLoopSpinUS = "100"

    Tried the machine 8.1 Windows with the same settings, with or without binary translation, and improve performance when a single processor is required, but for tasks in parallel, it has remained the same.

    Can any idea on how I get a similar performance from the prompt XP + Windows 7 guests?

    BTW, memory attributed to the prompt isn't a problem, there are a lot of free memory at any time.

    Apparently not much longer be contestation connects to MMU virtualization in the case of Windows 7.

    With the virtual machine off, try adding the following options in the .vmx file:

    monitor_control.disable_eagervalidate_wide = TRUE

    monitor_control.disable_eagervalidate_narrow = TRUE

    This may not help and it can actually make things worse, but it is worth it.

  • Performance IEEE 1394 Windows XP SP3 Adobe Premiere 6.0 problem

    I'm trying to capture video using Adobe Premiere 6.0.  When I got Win2K installed it worked fine.  I have upgraded to Windows XP SP3 and first stopped working properly.  A clean installed Matrox RT2500 - it's the video capture card, I bought with the kit Adobe Premiere - according to the instructions, as well as first - including the 6.01 update.  Now when I connect my Sony DCRTRV520 camcorder via firewire IEEE1394 and try to capture the Hi8 video I recorded, it won't record a few frames, then stops.  Matrox video tools say that the IEEE 1394 device has stopped working.  First capture options indicate that the camcorder is not recognized.

    I found a forum which indicated that the problem was with XP sp3 drivers for Texas Instruments OHCI 1394 device - indicating that the sp2 and sp3 downgraded the 1394 to S100 speed device performance.  I found an article in the database saying MS was aware of the problem and finally got that to work (KB885222) download

    http://download.Microsoft.com/download/9/0/6/906f2f67-39c4-48bc-8558-86833d4cbc16/WindowsXP-KB885222-v2-x86-enu.exe

    It will not actually install on the PC I am running SP3 not SP2.  It's really frustrating because the system worked very well under windows 2000. Even worse since I have a lot of old video - not stored on DVD or transformed into films which I was hoping to work for presents for the family, this Christmas.

    Anyone know of another - hotfix - download or similar which will fix this problem?

  • Low performance after sleep (Windows 7)

    Hi guys!

    2 days ago my laptop went to sleep mode. After he returned he crushed. I rebooted it and since then it does not work properly.

    (When I restarted the laptop a message appeared stating that he could not leave the sleep mode and all files that has not been save will be lost).

    The performance is really low and I literally can't do anything.

    This is not something which happens only after the mode 'sleep'! It's always like that!

    I should also mention that it works fine in safe mode!

    I could really use some help here! Thank you in advance!

    Yes, it's been a common problem

    All I can say is to ensure that you have the latest Net framework installed manually 4.6.1
    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=49982

    And the most recent client update
    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3138612

    In the end, I believe that the cause is a corrupted windows update store

    Have you ever run Disk Cleanup and clean up system files

    Then deleted old windows updates?

  • folder w / shared the performance problem in Windows 7 comments

    I recently started to use a Windows 7 client again after a hiatus of about nine months, a period during which I improved Fusion of 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 updated to Mac OS X 10.6 to 10.7 and increased the size of the virtual hard drive of the guest from 30 GB to 45 GB.

    I'm now see far worse performance in a folder shared, I'm use to build a software project (Firefox). Previously, performance was more or less at the same level as the construction of a folder not shared, but now it takes significantly longer.

    Construction of a non-shared folder takes about 90 minutes, while the construction of a shared folder takes about 660 minutes (11 hours).

    My host of Mac OS X and Windows 7 OSes comments are fully updated their latest versions. The host is a mid-2010 MacBook Pro with a processor clocked at 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 and 8 GB of RAM, while the client is configured to use two processors and 2 GB of RAM.

    I tried the update of Fusion to 4.1.3. I also tried to clean up the comments on the general tab of its parameters. And I tried to copy the package of reviews (i.e. merge I did when it prompted me to copy firstrun). But none of these steps had no effect.

    Any idea what could cause this problem?

    Note that guest of Ubuntu 11.10 with a processor core and 2 GB of RAM built Firefox today in 85 minutes in approximately 100 minutes of a shared folder and a folder not shared. All these times are imprecise, because I work in the host when compiling in the guests. But Windows 7 from a shared folder is a clear aberration.

  • Performance issues with Windows Server 2008 host

    Hi all

    If I use a Windows Server 2008 host on my ESXi 4 installation.  I've recently upgraded to version 4 and had previously experienced similar problems and 3.5.  I also improved the hardware in the virtual computer to version 7 on all my guest OS.  The host in question is a file server.  Essentially what happens is sometimes that if a user opens a document (for most of the audio and/or video documents), the media file will take a minute or two to load then jump during playback.  If it's something like a file PDF/Word/Excel, the respective program crashes when the file loads or changes are saved, taking about a minute to respond to the user to enter again.  This problem is also very sparadic.  I even had this problem occurs when I'm the only user accessing the file server.  The specification of my VMware host is 3.2 GHz Xeon dual processor and 7 GB of RAM.  Two data warehouses are hosted on internal SATA hard drives.  ESXi is on the build 219382.  VMware tools is installed and update on all guest OS so far.  With regard to the use of the resources on the computer host, the memory usage with all my virtual machines running is almost always around 5.2 GB on the 7 available and the CPU usage is usually around 2 GHz.

    Looking at the logs performance monitor, I noticed an increase in the use of the disc during the shutdowns.  Are there utilities built to test the internal hard drives to find errors?  If this isn't the case, anyone recommend a utility that I can use to do this?

    Other ideas are also welcome.

    As mentioned disk SATA performance is less than ideal, or even acceptable by many people. The SATA drives in a configuration having non-RAID which makes it doubly Yes. If they were at least in a RAID 0, 0 + 1 or 5 configuration you would have best performance among readers (would be loath to 0 though, since there is no parity involved).

    Using the means on board mode SATA drive controller (or not RAID) of the SATA it runs the performance as low as possible.

    I wouldn't have even thought to have a server, or a system, used as a server that does not use RAID functions at least for redundancy. Couple that with discs that aren't going to cause bottlenecks as a standard too. Who used to refer to SCSI drives high speed, but also means using SAS drives these days (since they are replacing older parallel SCSI drives). The most difficult configurations for ESX, are performed on the server class hardware, which has access to a shared storage (which is high performance) on a fast network (Go to our days, or fiber) or a RAID array internally, which will not cause performance problems.

    You can try setting the server configuration, you have now, but that will only take you so far. You will need to the major weak links in the system. A (a major) is the SATA storage as stand-alone drives. The other is a network of 100 MB, which isn't too bad, but is still a performance hit when you share all traffic with these two ports. Moving to a GB switch could help the part of the question, but you will still have to solve problems of disk performance. If there is a decent amount of shared storage attached network where you are, see if they can give you a reasonable amount for the servers you are running on the host computer. Of course, you'll want to also be on the fastest possible network/connection of this storage.
