  • Question about preparing files for printing from Photoshop

I need to understand the best way to save for print from Photoshop. Here are the things that are confusing to me:

Problem: When I create a design in Photoshop, I find myself with a few options on how to save my document. I would like to know which of the following statements is the best method:

Method 1: create a PDF, and embed the fonts. This method, which worries me because I read that some fonts will not be open on the end of beneficiaries because of restrictions imposed by the manufacturer of the police. I should be concerned or is embedding fonts the best route to take?

Method 2: Convert all types of forms. This method seems to be the most secure, but I read problems related to this road as well. A site commented that having too much text converted into forms can cause extremely long print times. Is this true?

Another problem I encountered with the conversion of text in forms is when I have a paragraph that has more than one color of text... convert forms converts just one color. I would like to know a work around that. Currently, I create separate layers for different text colors and try to align them manually... a lot of your time. I know that InDesign would be best for this kind of thing, but Photoshop works very well for me, asside from this little thing).

Method 3: Flatten my whole design (text and everything) at 300 dpi. My text will look like flattening crunchy at this resolution?

Thanks to all who can help clarify this for me. I read so much incompatible information online that I don't know what to think.

It would be great if there were a being all put an end to all the applications that actually everything we dream in one application. Maybe someday, but it's not the reality at this point. There is no IllustPhotoDesigner, so we need to deal with what we have to work with. It beats paper and pens, at times, but it has limits as well.

In fact, In Design is much easier to use then Photoshop. You take the tool like Photoshop and type text. You place the images using the place command. You create PDF files by exporting to PDF or use the print dialog box.

Photoshop is great for editing images of several kinds. Text is not really one of them unless you perform a text as a graphic you want to create an image in the text.  Creating a paragraph of text ends usually soft because if you're setting type in Photoshop, you are dealing with the resolution of the file so that if you type set In Design, you are not limited to the resolution of files, but the resolution of the device output you print on.

  • What is the best way to prepare a pdf of 2 colors for printing?

    Hello

I'm a book printed in 2 spot colours, black and orange, as you can see below.

I am making images in Photoshop and then recording the 2 layers as in grayscale TIFF images that I can layer in InDesign using the multiplier effect. I use a shade of color, then make the background orange.

The problem is this, printers that I use asked to export it to PDF / X-3: 2002, but when I do this the black lines are lost. I wonder if there is a better way to prepare the image for printing? Someone recommended save each layer as a bitmap 300 dpi for me but the quality is not always look great.

Does anyone have advice? I hope this makes some sense!

    Thank you

    Dan

In Acrobat 9, it is under Advanced > print > overview of the release. Probably the same in version 10.

  • Cannot print using Photoshop CC.

Using a Mac, OS 10.9.4, just installed Photoshop CC, when you click on file/print, I get the following: "there was an error in the opening of your printer.  Print functions will be unavailable until you have selected a printer and reopened all documents.  My printer is connected as I used earlier for print with Photoshop CS3.  How can I choose a printer when the pop up you will avoid further?  Are there no Page Settings window in Photoshop CC?  In Photoshop CS3 Page layout appears above print in the file Menu.

    Thanks for your post.

I asked this question during the Forum of Photoshop gurus and the administrator (Steve) suggested that I start Photoshop while holding down the command/Option/shift keys to reset the preferences file.  Then click 'Yes' in the 'file remove Adobe Photoshop Settings' when the window opens.

I tried this and it worked a charm.  Now, I can print to Photoshopp CC.

I hope that this info will hep anyone having a similar problem when you try to print on a Mac using Photoshop CC and Mavericks.

  • By default Adobe color management print affecting RGB to pages B & w and color printing costs

Adobe Print of default color management seems to be assigning RGB meta pages n & B and cost of printing color for prints n & B.

I can manually change the color management for printing printer managed on a basis by printing instead of the default adobe color managed

who "heals" issue, but I don't seem to be able to save this default setting. Has anyone seen and corrected this problem?

If you want B & W prints, you must use a profile of color B & W. Adobe apps can do know anything about unless you tell them. Just because it seems gray does not mean it is gray on the technical level. You must read on color management. There is nothing wrong with the PS, you're simply using options and incorrect settings.

  • Profile of Photoshop Black and white for printing

I'm a black and white photographer, this issue is so important for me to solve. I've been looking online and I still have to find the answer, so I hope someone can help.

I need to know how to set up the profiles of black and white in Photoshop for printing. The printer I have is a canon Pixma Pro 9000 mark II

I need real black and white. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion. If you need me to provide more information let me know.

I often print black & white work on an Epson, using advanced black & white in the print driver.

A quick Internet search found that there is something similar for Canon - Canon: PIXMA Manual: Guide to Digital Photo printing: printing black and white

I print files scanned in grayscale and have the profile to grayscale in PS 2.2 Gamma value.

If you print digital photos, they will be RGB, but which will probably make no difference. But you have to read the documentation for the Canon if it will be. IOW - if the image must be in grayscale or RGB levels.

Something very important when printing as this is to set the printer to manage colors (not PS) in the dialog box print of PS.

  • How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

After reading dozens of forum, I not yet found the answer.

I made a photo album with full-colur and b & w photos for Offset print. I want to be for the b & w grayscale avoid the hues of colors possible. It seems that InDesign does not support the shades of gray, how images become dark. Even with export without any conversion of color or the destination and/or including profiles of original colors, the images are exported to obscurity as a PDF to grayscale.

How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

Yes, Photoshop & ID CMYK working spaces are the same

This can become difficult because 3 programs manage proofing differently.

Work spaces don't matter, document profiles that handle the preview. So here's the same image in grayscale, placed in the ID on the top and PS on the bottom. I put my info in Photoshop to display the profile of doc in the lower left corner. I can see the profile of my InDesign CMYK Document in my test format (CMYK work is different and is not used). The two profiles are actually the same coated FOGRA39 (Black Ink FOGRA in the case of the PS).

But the previews do not match because I disabled, so the preview InDesign is Gamma 2.2 or a "screen" media preview overprinting.

If I turn on overprint preview, I get a match because I'm soft proofing for printing:

  • color for web and print profiles

    Hello

I'm editing photos from my digital SLR. They were shot as jpg in Adobe RGB. I'm editing photos for both web and print right now and I was wondering if there is a way to do so that I would be able to change for both at the same time in the process of Photoshop.

Here are the details for what I usually do:

For printing, I would work in AdobeRGB photos while the check option has the working CMYK value (usually SWOP, depending on which printer I use). Then I would flatten the work, resize and sharpen and change the color to CMYK mode, save as TIFF.

For the web, I used to edit while RGB color settings are defined in sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 and verification is set to RGB monitor. I flattened, resize and sharpen and save for Web.

Is it possible that I can edit a single photo (shot in Adobe RGB) so that they can be used for BOTH print and web? I know CMYK or RGB would mean they would end in search of different end, but is be possible that I can have a single Photoshop file for the photo and go through the steps needed to make it ready for printing and for the web... or because of the color profiles and linguistic verification options , there is nothing I can do but to edit each photo twice?

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help.

First of all I suggest you just started shooting RAW not Jpeg.

then personally I work in AdobeRGB. I place my PSD AdobeRGB in ID and the CMYK conversion is done when I do my PDF. for web work I convert to sRGB when I use save for Web. Do not use your monitor profile color proof for the web like that you have the correct monitor profile.

Plans of work in PS CC can be also for print design? If not, is it possible to use photoshop with similar functionality?

As they don't understand the area of cropping and Bleedbox parameters so far that they are, in my opinion, useless in regards to printing.

If you try to make prepress and correct page layout work in Photoshop, you can change to use the right tools for the task as Indesign.
