Phone call on Thursday, May 16.

I got a problem maybe a virus that could cause serious damage to my P.C. The young man with an Asian accent says that his name is James Anderson(Phone Number 099991001) tried to lead me through a series of pages, and finally I wanted access to www.ammyy.com. I was asked to press a button and it would allow me to achieve a success of solving my problem. Seeing that I was a suspect he put me on his technician. After expressing reservations, he hung up quickly brutally saying words to the effect of MS was finished with me because I was thinking of getting a computer architect to help me solve problems with my PC. Comments on a course of action?

Hi Hugh,.

Cybercriminals often use the names of well-known companies, such as ours, in their scams. They think it will convince you to give them money or your personal information. While they usually use email to deceive you, they sometimes use the phone instead.

  • Siri can not make phone calls

After the passage of an iPhone 7 from an iPhone 6 via iTunes backup everything (well almost) works very well.

However, Siri refuses to launch phone calls: 'sorry, I can't make your phone call. Each component seems to work separately: Contacts can be consulted and have found with the help of Siri, contacts can be called, and the phone is very good as well. I do not use any Bluetooth device, just the phone.

I tried to restart, a soft reset, re - insert the SIM card, restart Siri and through all relevant parameters in iOS10.0.1, Siri in the lock screen as well as after having unlocked the phone with several of the contacts and the types of numbers.

Don't forget: I can put any call I want, but not with Siri.

As I have yet to find advice through Google I hope that here, experts can provide further advice!

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards, Kay Hidde

Talked to the hotline from Apple Support today. They convinced me to try reset the network settings. However, this does not have the problem.

So I decided to reinstall from backup again (their second and final suggestion): I stored the new pictures that I shot with the phone before restore the device with exactly one that I used when the new machine was delivered two days ago:

If it was the same data as iTunes sent to the same device, it worked!

Interestingly other small issues were fixed as well (for example some photos were missing in camera rolling despite the fact that they were on the phone) and the whole process was not too long, since iTunes stores now sync settings for the lists of reading, books, movies, and photos on this unit (except for the initial setup of the new device two days ago).

In my opinion the iOS in the update interval can be the reason of this problem-free second run: 7A iPhone shipped with iOS 10.0.0 but I updated to 10.0.1 after initial installation.

Thanks for listening and I hope, the description may help someone else in a similar situation.

    Best regards!

  • I can't Siri to answer a phone call

I can't Siri or Siri Hey to answer a phone call?  I have a Rav Toyota aged 12 years who doesn't have bluetooth or hands free capability, and I don't like to use a bluetooth headset while driving.

I do not; However, I read that Apple may introduce such a feature in the future.  I recommend going to www.apple.com/feedback and tell Apple that you would like to see such a device put in place.

  • They have to make a phone call?

So today, I gave my iPhone 5 to someone so that they could make a phone call. I trust her, and she only used for 5 minutes and he gives back. Later, when I started using it, I double clicked on the Home button and I noticed there was a window open for calls and music. I know not if and why I would have opened, who questioned her and these five minutes. Up and down, she swears she did only a phone call, but I'm still worried. I know that she would not have bought something, because I have never on my phone and once again, within five minutes?

Is there a way to check what has been consulted, and any other form of activity your iPhone?

If she used the phone, then calls may be recent. Someone could use music earlier. Alternatively, she could hit accidentally. Either you trust him or you don't. If you have not, change your passwords and restore your phone as new, no turning back. If you do, don't you worry about that.

  • iwatch does not sound on phone calls

After that I have associated my iwatch with new iphone 6s, the watch sounds is no longer on the phone calls.  Tried several thngs: volume, désapparier and pair, do not disturb... any other ideas?

HI - try these steps, check again after each:

    • Make sure your watch is not in silent Mode:

    • Restart your iPhone and your watch. Turn on both devices off the power together first, and then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch:
      • To turn off your watch: press and hold the button side until you see the cursor off the power; slide it to turn off;
      • To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the logo.
    • Reset the network settings on your iPhone:
      • On your iPhone, go to: settings > General > reset > reset network settings (you need to enter again registered credentials Wi - Fi later).
      • Restart both devices again later (as described above).
      • Otherwise, it may help to disable the pairing and re-pairing again after the reset.
    • If your iPhone is connected to a Bluetooth-based telephony system, it disable matching that.
    • If Wi - Fi calls is activated on your iPhone, turn it off:
      • On your iPhone, go to: settings > phone > Wi - Fi calling - off.

    Hello

    It's a scam.

This is the notice given to any person who has phone calls like this on Malware, license expiration, etc..

We have all the errors and warnings in our Event Viewer, which is another ploy they use to scare you

Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.

You are the only person who knows if you gave them remote access.

If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, to explain, and change passwords.

If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.

And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

And Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.

Almost certainly, it was a scam and with various names and phone

In addition to their money get on your part to do anything of any value,
If you leave them in your computer, who knows what they were doing or where
    What confidential information they stole.

So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following
    immediately:

1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.

    2. after reinstallation of Windows, change all your passwords.
    especially the banks or other
    financial sites.

Since they have perhaps installed a recorder of strikes, changing just your
Passwords may not be good enough.

  • Scam phone calls re malware indicating that they are "Microsoft."

Hello I get a series of scam phone calls indicating that they are of "microsoft" and say that I have a problem with my computer. The numbers on the caller ID of the phone are: 002133333206, 003105999211, 002532362020, 002063971113, 003606339006, 0013212000143 and 001753615204. They also asked me similar question such as if my computer is turned on and that it /she (because sometimes it's a woman's voice and, sometimes, a man's voice) can fix it. I always tell them that I'm not interested in such a way they cling fast to the phone. Can you please review?

  • Phone call from "Windows"? -is it a scam?

Today, I received a phone call from someone who said they were by Windows and that my PC has reported errors? They asked me to type in the menu "run" to display errors, and then they asked me to go to this site http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx. I had to hang up at this point to come out but nobody knows nothing about this or received a phone call?

It is a phishing attempt! Do not give any information.

Reported people on these calls for a person who represents Windows (note: not Microsoft).

It is a scam! Not to follow their instructions or advice and not to provide ANY information to them.

Because they use the internet lines and/or phone to complete their fraud, there may be federal agencies in your country who are interested in discovering their calls. Their report directly to the appropriate agency if you feel you can contribute to their arrest and the charges.

Microsoft do NOT pick up the phone and start dialing customers and never phones/e-mails asking for personal information or asking them to visit a web site! Please do not take into account these calls and hang up immediately.
